ianmichael3 - I know what you mean. I'm so done with this bleeding crap, but I think it will be better if I can accept that it is just going to happen sometimes. My doctor told me sometimes bleeding like this stops after 18-19 weeks, but that some "lucky" women will have episodes of bleeding throughout the entire pregnancy. Mine was also usually the bright red stuff that seems so much scarier than if it was traces of brown or light pink.

Pre-pregnancy I was taking a 4-mile power walk every day at lunch that included some pretty steep hills. I decided to scale it back to a 2.6-mile walk after getting pregnant since I was feeling so tired and puky. Even with that much shorter distance, my last episode of bleeding started after I got really tired just walking. Even hammering baseboards into my bathroom over the weekend made me feel really tired, achy, and a little bit crampy. After everything I have gone to getting pregnant, I just have make myself stop and rest if I feel the slightest bit "off."

I know you want to stay as active as you were before. Believe me, I want to finish remodeling my bathroom so I don't have to keep going all the way downstairs every time I have to pee in the middle of the night! And I know I'm also worried about what the heck is going to happen to my body, both during and after. This is my first pregnancy, and having always been small it's even wacky to me that my once-tiny boobs have grown big enough to rest on my growing belly. And I am really not sure how I feel about my husband telling me every day, "Wow. You are getting HUGE." Thanks, sweetie.

Hang in there! I love your description of the crying ball of mess - all I could think is that's what I feel like half the time now!!

Thanks wondercat.... It's a good thing we aren't friends, because I'd totally smack your DH! They just don't get it. I'm psyching myself up to think it is just going to happen, and that at least I don't even have to wear a pantyliner, because it's only when I wipe. It just has got to be my cervix.....

On another note- YUCK! Having to go downstairs in the middle of the night! I feel for ya sister. That does suck!

I just can't wait to feel it move! That will really seal the deal for me!

In my husband's defense, he is just so incredibly excited to be a dad and just finds it amazing that it's actually, really happening. This Friday is the 11-year "anniversary" of our first date. Our birthdays are both in May, so he had just turned 21 and I had just turned 19. Even back then he talked about becoming a father as being one of the major goals in his life. In the four years it has been since we found out he has no vas deferens, he was starting to resign himself to thinking it was never going to happen.

Still, I could do with a little more painting the bathroom walls and a little less mooning over how big my boobs are!! :P

Ladies-sorry to crash your thread-but just wanted to lend some hope to getting your bodies back after baby. I too bled until about 14 weeks-when it started I made sure that I slowed down-no more exercising, mowing the lawn etc....Pre-preg I was 135 lbs and very fit-The day before delivery I was 192lbs!!!!!!!! Yes, I was huge-but there was no way after all the tears I cried & money I spent that I was going to risk it. My perfect little son will be 8 weeks tomorrow-and I am at 136lbs now-only 1 pound left to loose-and I'm breastfeeding so it's prob boob weight-Anyway, listen to your body-it will go by so quick and I believe anyone can get back in shape if you just work at it. It's only temporary. Good Luck & happy, healthy pregnancies to you!!!

Hi ladies! I've been reading all of your posts, but just haven't written anything in a while. It's been pretty crazy over here!

I've continued to go to weekly doctor's appointments with ultrasounds. We've been so spoiled to see our 3 little ones so often! Apparently, it's pretty tricky to doppler 3 different heartbeats at every visit, hence all the ultrasounds.

I had an in-depth ultrasound last week that revealed that all the babies are growing great. They all have structurally normal organs (as much as it can be evaluated at 14 weeks). The identical twins are each 3 oz and the fraternal twin is 4 oz. The identicals share a placenta and have to compete for nutrients, so it is okay if they are a little smaller than my baby c. It was still too early to evaluate my cervix, so i go back to check that out in another week. If I need a cerclage, I would need to get it pretty soon and preferably before we fly out of here!

The only wrinkle in that ultrasound was that no one has been able to find a membrane separating the identical twins. This means that there is a chance that both are in the same amniotic sac, which is a rare and dangerous condition. They can easily get tangled up in each other's cords and actually cut off the blood supply to one or both, at any time, without causing me to have any symptoms of this happening. The good news is that I have read that many, many twin and triplets are thought to have this problem, but later the doctors or techs DO eventually find a membrane. I'm holding on to that fact with white knuckles, as the mortality rate for this type of twins, called mono-mono or momo, is 50%! If one twin dies, most likely, the other twin will also die. The other thing about this condition is that there's not much anyone can do to prevent a cord problem from occurring. At least I won't stress about not doing enough or doing too much. I know if something happens, it won't be my fault.

In the middle of all of this, DH and I are also in the middle of a trans-pacific move! Our house is pretty much empty, just full of old uncomfortable loaner furniture. NOT looking forward to unpacking all of our junk on the other side of all this and trying to get organized, all while 20 weeks prego with triplets. AAAAGGGGHHHH!!!!

Changes I've noticed recently... It's impossible for me to sneeze and not pee on myself, regardless if I just finished peeing 2 minutes ago... My belly is big enough that strangers are commenting to me now-- I guess I'm past that iffy stage where people aren't sure... After 2pm, my belly is SO hard and taut, that I feel like I swallowed a boulder... I've read that I'm supposed to be peeing less, have more energy and be more comfortable now that it's the second trimester. Guess that doesn't apply to triplets. :P

Ian and Wonder: hope the spotting stops soon! Seems like your little beans are fine, but it doesn't do much for the mommy's mental health. Almost impossible to enjoy pregnancy as an infertile  Too busy worrying.

Charr: Not feeling any movement yet.. that I can tell. Hope the nausea is totally gone by now.

Aspot: Are you having the crazy tight belly thing too?

aims: Hope you're feeling better!

Hello and fabulous weekend wishes to Excited-in-LA and anyone else that I've missed!

nursegator: Oh geez! I can't complain anymore! I cannot even fathom all the stuff you're going through! Where are you moving from and going to?? That part sounds really exciting- I hope you enjoy the destination :)

I've pretty much nailed down my spotting to resulting from lifting weights, so no more of that for a little while. I'm now down to riding my bike or walking or the stairmaster.

I'm off to look for a bra! I've gone from a 34DD to probably a 34E!!!!

nursegator - Phew! Such a lot to deal with at once. We moved last October, but the house is still a shambles since we cleverly bought a fixer-upper. My grandfather was an identical twin - his brother had a slightly weaker hand from my grandfather's umbilical cord wrapping around it. Not ideal, but really everything worked out fine even 90 years ago when medicine wasn't nearly as good as it is now. It didn't stop him from being the star catcher/co-captain of his high school baseball team (my grandfather was the pitcher/co-captain). The only thing it prevented him from doing was being drafted into WWII.

ianmichael3 - I was a 32C, which is not as big as it sounds. I went up to a very full 32D within the first 6 weeks. My husband is mesmerized. Even I am in awe. I have never had cleavage before! My sister, who had her 36EEE's reduced at 18, is just loving being able to tease me about it. :) Glad you figured out an exact cause. All three of my episodes seemed so random. I'm feeling like the only exercise I get is going up and down the stairs at night to pee!!

No bleeding for the past 3 weeks, but I'm not going to get too excited about it or it'll probably happen again! Anybody else starting to have a ridiculously hard time getting/staying comfortable at night??

ianmichael: We're going from Hawaii to California. I love Hawaii, but Cali will be good because I'll be closer to my mom and able to get some help with the babies. We'll be there soon and then have to go house hunting for a decent rental. Hopefully, single story with no carpeting ( I keep reading about triplets with reflux problems, leaky diapers etc etc, so can't imagine trying to keep carpeting in good shape for 3 years). Glad that your spotting has stopped! The weights will still be there for you after the pregnancy.

Wonder: Glad to hear that everything worked out well for your grandfather! It's amazing to think what medical care would have been like back then. Glad to hear that the bleeding has stopped. :) Enjoy the cleavage-- just in time for a bikini! I'm trying to cover up as much as possible since I've discovered cellulite on the FRONT of my thighs. Oh lovely!! I actually used to have nice legs  Oh well, I'll worry about that after the babies are born. Not allowed to exercise now-- short walks and gentle swimming only.

Anybody feeling real movement yet? I'm right at 16 weeks, and nothing yet for me.

nursegator: WOW, from one beautiful destination to the next! Midwest weather just sucks, but I do love the change of seasons, so I can't complain too much! I would have to think you'll feel something within the next 2 weeks or so.......... then - get used to it, because it will not stop until that little bundle is here!!!

hi everyone! Sorry I've been MIA, this is busy season for my job, so I've been actually working!

Glad to hear that everyone is feeling well overall. Ian and Wondercat, hope the spotting has gone away.

nursegator- my belly is definitely at the point where people don't worry about putting their foot in their mouth, but it doesn't get super taut, only a bit. I know this sounds crazy, but I swear my belly looks bigger toward the end of the day than in the morning. I'll be praying for all your little ones to keep staying healthy! And godspeed on your big move!

So us too, we will see my regular OB for the regular checkups- she was able to find the two heartbeats last week on doppler. But she is sending us to a perinatologist who will do an ultrasound once a month. She told us it is the only way to chart the growth of multiples. We have an u/s in three weeks and I think we will hopefully find out the gender. can't wait!

My nephew was born yesterday, and while holding him, all tiny and fragile, I thought "how the heck am I going to be able to hold two of these???"

Wondercat, yeah, I'm sorta at that point where I'm having a hard time staying comfy while I sleep. I've been looking into pregnancy and body pillows. Anyone bought one yet?

I'm 15 weeks now. Have not felt movement. I'm a little wary of them kung fu fighting in there as they grow!

Hi everyone. Sorry I too have been MIA.

I was at 16 weeks yesterday and all is looking good!

Nursegator - I will be thinking good thoughts for the identical twins and hope the move is easy.

We go in next Tuesday for an amnio. Since we lost a twin at 10 weeks and could not do any of the first trimester standard testing, our perinatologist thinks the amnio is very important. When I scheduled it, I asked the nurse if I would be able to drive myself to work after, she said "Honey, you are on bed rest for 2 days!" I had no idea!!! I will rent a lot of movies this weekend and my mom will come hang me. It should actually be fun. I am a little nervous about the amnio results (which take 2 weeks!), but we know it is the right thing to do.

My doctor just cleared me for exercise and I started going to prenatal yoga. I LOVE it - highly recommended!

I feel like we have joined the pregnancy whirlwind. My doctor's office had me sign up for 5 classes at the hopsital: A hospital tour, a birthing class, an infant CPR class, a breastfeeding class and a baby care class (who knew we needed all of that!) Then there are these crazy Mommy and me classes (it's LA) - I called to get on the lists and was told I am on the waiting list - everyone else signed up right when they found out they were pregnant (hello - I am only 4 months and am already late for something that starts in January!!!) It all just feels like it is going really fast - but it is exciting.

I am unmistakably pregnant. I knew that for sure when I asked to use the bathroom at the bank this weekend and the guy behind the counter (who coud not have been more than 20) said "we have no public restroom" - then said, "Wait, I see you are pregnanct, of course you can use it!" I told work and their response was "WE KNOW!" I am now fully in maternity clothes, many of which I bought at the outlet mall, Target and Old Navy - GREAT places to get stuff. The only thing I bought at Pea in a Pod (do you all have that - crazy expensive), were some pants because the less expensive ones just were not comfortable - I also bought maternity bras there - they were about $35 and are awesome!

Good wishes to everyone!

excited: HA HA! We have the mommy and me classes here in the midwest, too- although I haven't ever even thought twice about going! Pea in the Pod is expensive BUT SO FUN TO SHOP THERE! Good for you for cruising the deals first though! Your amnio should be no biggie, I'm sure they're very good and quick! It will be done before you know it!

Hello, everyone. Sorry I, too, have been MIA. Had an amnio done a week ago and we're awaiting the full results. Preliminary FISH results show everything to be normal. We had an anatomy scan done prior to the amnio which was amazing. We didn't expect to learn the sex right away that day, but it was pretty obvious during the u/s. We're having a boy! He's very active (maybe a sign of what's to come when he's born!). I feel him moving around day and night.

Nursegator - Good luck with the move!

Excited-in-LA - Best of luck with the amnio next Tues.

Nancy - How are you? I know you're struggling with the amnio decision. Just make the best decision you can with the information you're given and trust in the decision you make.
