move over nikola.......my drama is AlWAYS bigger.....

Post by JackieT »

hi all
i am just sneaking a quickie on here before DH knows im not in bed......
well, mothers day was certainly mothers day for me .......

I HAD MY LITTLE GIRL!!!! we called her Madi...

yes, i was 27+5days and wasnt due to have her until june.... but , there was no way nikola was having the last word on excitement when i am around...
obviously it was all very dramatic and happened in the middle of the night, woke up to a small amount of blood and within 15 mins had started to haemorrage, luckily, we live 2 mins from hsp as by the time we had got there i was bleeding badly and my waters went, they scanned me and there was no fluid there at all and decided to emergency section me, our gorgeous little madi was 1kg and needed no help in breathing.
but now you who know me by now, realise that there is more to my story and unfortunately its not always as good what i have just told you, so.. the cloud on our silver lining is this,,
Madi had kicked through the amniotic sac {but we dont know how long ago} and had some of it wrapped around her calf like a wire causing a very deep indentation right around her leg,
the positive side to this is that there is circulation there and she had an operation yesterday to relieve this band, it seems to have gone well, but we wont know for a while. her foot is the size of our fist and it will take a while for this swelling to go down. she is doing well after this op and her temp is back settled, she has got fluctuation with her sugar levels, so they might have to give her insulin later, but fingers crossed....
and just so that you dont think and here it ends... theres more.. the consultants have heard of this condition, it does happen but... as its not something they can detect in the womb, babies who have done this have always been born without the limb that they used to break through as the circulation would cut off, they say they know many many cases of this , but none like Madi's... shes a text book case..so we have made history, but i think it would have been more reassuring if i knew they had some ready answers,
so.. ladies.. there our drama ends for now and as for myself im suffering{who said being too posh to push was best?} i got a shock when told no driving for 6 weeks?? no sport or exercise? how on earth am i going to get to work on all this extra weight i had? {have} i also started to swell up last night at 12.00 and rang the hsp, they said rest, rest rest, how can i do this ?? as Madi was moved to a diff hsp on tues for the op and they did not even consider transferrring me, i created a small scene until at 11.30 that nighr they discharged me, albeit grudgingly as i need blood transfusion as levels are very low after my bleed e.t.c, but how can i rest when she needs me. so when the swelling started DH was having pups...
so now i will go back to bed for an hour before we go to hsp and i will speak to you all soon, i hope you are all keeping well, i havent read any of the posts, but i will try to log on later tonight and catch up on you all. love to all jackie xx

Well Jackie, this has to be your biggest drama to date. Thank God you and Madi are ok. What a little fighter she is.......and obviously has some kick on her already.

OMG Jackie

You have amazed me.

Firstly, congratulations on the birth of Madi. Such a sweet name. You must have been so shocked when all this started. I truly hope she recovers well and that you can all be together at home soon. Do you know how long Madi will have to stay in hospital?

I hope you take good care of yourself too. No trampolining!!

Well done you and DH and welcome little Madi. You know Nikola will be thinking of a way to better this don't you??

Hi Jackie & DH,

I just want to say congratulations to you both and to welcome your precious little girl into the world. I bet you both couldn't believe when she was born. I hope that everything works out for the best and hope you will all be home and be a family soon.

Jackie Its horrible not being able to drive for 6wks I was exactly the same and now I can drive its brilliant I am never in the house. I must get some housework done but that comes last when I have Alex to look after and I would rather go out in the car then stop in anyday.

Love
Shell.

jackie, this is amazing.
firstly congratulations to you and dh on the arrival of Madi. she must be so cute. i met a lady recently who had twins at 26 wks so i can imagine how weenie she is. Madi sounds like a real determined lady already!

you sound great although i'm sure it all must be a tremendous worry for you both. Madi's in safe hands. take care of yourself and dh too.

Jackie,

What a story!!! Congratulations anyway on Madi's arrival - what a great name. You sound like you took everything in your stride - well done.

From someone who not long ago had Sam 7 weeks early, but nowhere nearly as dramatic as yourself - please look after yourself and take things slowly and don't do too much too quickly. I found trawling up and down to neonatal very hard going and draining, both physically and emotionally, so make sure you take care.

Your Madi sounds like a little fighter. Congratulations again :D

Congratulations on the birth of your littel girl. What a lovely name for her. It sounds very dramatic but you sounded really calm.
Hope Madi is home soon.
We might be reading about you in the papers soon if Madi has made history.

JAckie

And all else reading this.......... I have just texted Nikola and I think she must have dropped a zillion stitches on her knitting
I am still laughing - she must be so frustrated having to wait until tonight for my email with all the details and then have to compose a reply and then ask DH to send it down and then me to post!!!!!!!!!!

She texted back the naught F Word that we are not allowed to use on here with several exlamation marks and said you always have to outdo her don't you JAckie - had to laugh!!!!!!! She was concerned all was ok so put her mind at rest and she can read the email - she has since sent me 3 more saying she can't believe it.

I would rather she really does not try and top this one so will keep her in line
Love
