hi all
i am just sneaking a quickie on here before DH knows im not in bed......
well, mothers day was certainly mothers day for me .......
I HAD MY LITTLE GIRL!!!! we called her Madi...
yes, i was 27+5days and wasnt due to have her until june.... but , there was no way nikola was having the last word on excitement when i am around...
obviously it was all very dramatic and happened in the middle of the night, woke up to a small amount of blood and within 15 mins had started to haemorrage, luckily, we live 2 mins from hsp as by the time we had got there i was bleeding badly and my waters went, they scanned me and there was no fluid there at all and decided to emergency section me, our gorgeous little madi was 1kg and needed no help in breathing.
but now you who know me by now, realise that there is more to my story and unfortunately its not always as good what i have just told you, so.. the cloud on our silver lining is this,,
Madi had kicked through the amniotic sac {but we dont know how long ago} and had some of it wrapped around her calf like a wire causing a very deep indentation right around her leg,
the positive side to this is that there is circulation there and she had an operation yesterday to relieve this band, it seems to have gone well, but we wont know for a while. her foot is the size of our fist and it will take a while for this swelling to go down. she is doing well after this op and her temp is back settled, she has got fluctuation with her sugar levels, so they might have to give her insulin later, but fingers crossed....
and just so that you dont think and here it ends... theres more.. the consultants have heard of this condition, it does happen but... as its not something they can detect in the womb, babies who have done this have always been born without the limb that they used to break through as the circulation would cut off, they say they know many many cases of this , but none like Madi's... shes a text book case..so we have made history, but i think it would have been more reassuring if i knew they had some ready answers,
so.. ladies.. there our drama ends for now and as for myself im suffering{who said being too posh to push was best?} i got a shock when told no driving for 6 weeks?? no sport or exercise? how on earth am i going to get to work on all this extra weight i had? {have} i also started to swell up last night at 12.00 and rang the hsp, they said rest, rest rest, how can i do this ?? as Madi was moved to a diff hsp on tues for the op and they did not even consider transferrring me, i created a small scene until at 11.30 that nighr they discharged me, albeit grudgingly as i need blood transfusion as levels are very low after my bleed e.t.c, but how can i rest when she needs me. so when the swelling started DH was having pups...
so now i will go back to bed for an hour before we go to hsp and i will speak to you all soon, i hope you are all keeping well, i havent read any of the posts, but i will try to log on later tonight and catch up on you all. love to all jackie xx
