Well hello all!

Are we all enjoying the sunshine and the scorching heat? Must say it certainly lifts one's spirits (note the use of one's language here…………)

I've been very busy at work and will probably be like this for another few weeks at least. And then I don't want to spend a single minute on the computer and want to make the most of the sunshine. So its been difficult to log on here.

Woooah……Sabi is pregnant? Wow….I didn't realise that you had cycled. Congratulations lady! Bet you can't stop grinning today. How wonderful that you and Carolyn will be belly buddies. And that is a fab beta too.

Becky - Waayy to go. 16lbs is amazing **cheering**. Its good that you're not suffering from the down reg medication. As for work, you'd better look for a temp what with the little one on the way soon. With all the baby dust sprinkled in the air recently, its going to work for you.

Miracle - Poor you, you seem to be suffering from so many things all at once. Do they suspect you have arthritis? Take care of yourself sweetie. By the way, 30 degrees is like your 88 degrees. But remember that a lot of the offices here don't have air cons. The houses and offices are equiped for winter and not summer, so regardless of the temperature, it actually feels a lot hotter than it is, especially when you are indoors.

Sara - hello buddy. Glad to hear you had a good break. And another one coming up!!!! Hope things start moving for you on the adoption front.

Carolyn, how are you? Still eating and peeing for England???? LOL.

Sophie - hello! Will view Jeremie's pics later, but I'm sure he's as gorgeous as everyone is saying.

Beachbaby - Lovely to hear from you. How are the boys doing? Are you still supermom, with your work and babies and all?

Will have to chat to you later if I can, but will be thinking about you.

Hello girlies!

So great to see the thread active again! :D:D Thank you so much for all your nice comments about Jérémie, you're very kind! :D Most people say he looks like DH, some said that he has the shape of my eyes and eyebrows... anyway, as long as we see a bit of ourselves in him, it's all good, because you never know... LOL during the last few miles I actually worried that the clinic had mixed the embryos and that I might be carrying someone else's child... crazy, I know, but... :) So it's good to see bits and pieces of our genes in that little boy!

Carolyn: Those are great numbers! Woohoo! Oh boy, that wait until the first scan is the hardest of them all! Remember it well, though, because you'll have a shock at the 13 weeks us, if you do one... on THAT one, you see a baby that looks like... a baby! And it moves!!!

Becky,
Congrats on losing all that weight, wow, you must look even sexier in that boudoir bedroom of yours! ;) Like Carolyn said, happy stabbing, and I hope the side effects are veeeery discreet! Good luck on the job hunting; keep us posted!

Traci,
I was shocked my Michael Jackson's passing too. He was an incredible dancer, performer, and composer. I feel quite sad for him about the way he shaped his personal life. He seemed deeply unhappy, and really disconnected from reality. But all I want to remember is his great songs and his incredible shows! My father and I could sit for 2 hours watching him perform on TV and we never got bored! What bad news about your forearms... wow, you must be looking forward to seeing that other specialist. I really hope he'll have better answers to give you, some encouragement! Either way, it might be a good idea to get info on chronic pain clinics... they really do miracles in pain management.

Sabi,
CONGRATS on being preggo lady!! Oh, that's so great, you predicted it long ago, didn't you? That we'd get lots of BFPs on this thread in 2009!!! Well, you were right, and I'm overjoyed that you were!!! Enjoy the next months sweetie, and keep us posted of course!!! Those numbers are fab, and it really looks like you're expecting more than one sweetie! When will you have your scan?

Angel,
Hang in there during those busy weeks! The sun will still be there when you re-emerge! :D Take care!

Okay, gotta go... I'm on a cleaning and organizing spree right now... all my free time is going into it. I spent hours cleaning and reorganizing my closets... as a result, I have three boxes of clothes to either sell in a second-hand store or give to Salvation Army. All this began when I was waiting at the drugstore for Jérémie's meds (he has heartburn). And I saw that cute book about the art of simplicity. It was written by a French woman who's been living in Japan for the past 26 years. The book talks about minimalism and zen and applies its principles to everything, from your wardrobe to the way you eat and live. I think she gives crazy recommendations when it comes to food, and her psychology chapter is way too oversimplified. But the shock between my occidental attitude and the oriental way of life was a real eye-opener. I've made changes to my lifestyle right away, and I'm really enjoying it!

Okay, gotta go... time to clean and purge my... computer! :) Take care ladies!

oh, and I almost forgot!

I STILL belong to this thread officially... because I've started planning my next FET! :) SO I'm also awaiting tmt!

I talked about it with DH... he doesn't want us to wait too long before we try again (and I'm all for it) because he'll turn 40 next year. I think it's a psychological milestone for him when it comes to having children. He said he doesn't want to be forced to push his retirement further away because, for example, he'd have to pay for the children's college. LOL I think he forgot that I'm 8 years younger and will, therefore, work for about 8 more years! ;) But anyway. Right now he's a bit unsure about doing another fresh cycle, because of the costs. But this year, the government passed a new law, and we get a bigger refund for IVF treatments. I forgot to remind him of that. But either way, I wouldn't feel at peace with myself if we did an FET with our last embies and then gave up if it doesn't work. Just one attempt for a kid? Mmmh... I'd bleed my account to its last cent and pay for it alone if I have to (he wouldn't let me, though!)

But given that I'm breastfeeding Jérémie, and given that both of FETs worked in the past, I have to be strategic. I called a fertility pharmacist and she checked... baby aspirin is okay, estrace and prometrium (estrogen and progesterone) are also okay with breastfeeding, but they might decrease my milk supply. No biggie; Jérémie will be on solid foods almost exclusively by then. She wasn't sure about Suprefact though (nasal spray used in downregging). I've called my clinic and I'm waiting for their answer.

I've made a deal with DH that we'd stop trying after dec. 2010. He seemed okay with that. That gives us lots of time to do an FET, a fresh cycle and FETs IF we have extras (I'm down to only 1 ovary now, and it's the one that always produced less). I'm really, really tempted to give it a go as soon as next January. That means I could be pregnant in Feb or March... which also means that I would still not be back at work (April 5th), and could spend some of the tiring weeks at home. Plus, hehe, I would only work until Nov or Dec lol! :)

If Suprefact forces me to wane Jérémie, however, I might wait until he's 12 months old. I don't know why, but I'd like to keep breastfeeding him until then if I can, it's my instinctive milestone. He'll be 11 months when I start working again, and I'd like to breastfeed him in the morning and evening, just to have that close contact with him despite my being away during the day. IVF might never work again for me, who knows, and I don't want to rush waning my child, knowing I might never experience breastfeeding again in the rest of my lifetime...

So, no definite plan right now, in terms of dates... but you can be sure that when I have that call from the clinic, and speak to DH, I might create another ticker... ;)

Take care ladies, and have fun!

Hello ladies,

Carolyn,
Nope, giving birth wasn't that bad, and my labor lasted 19 hours! Yup, major de-clutter... and yesterday I bought a few things... yoga pants (can't believe I've lived without them) and a few useful books for my home and purse (mini phonebook, planner and notebook). Anything exciting planned for the weekend with your friends from Prague?

Well, I had a good chat with DH yesterday evening. I told him about the situation. He agreed that a year or two won't make such a huge difference, so we're no longer in a rush and it relieves the pressure on me a great deal. He also said he doesn't have any preconceived ideas about breastfeeding a toddler, as long as it doesn't last forever. I agree with him. We also agreed that self-weaning seemed like the best option for our son, as long as it doesn't take forever either. So we agreed on this cunning plan.

We'll let Jérémie grow up, introduce solids when he's ready, and see how breastfeeding goes. If, by 18 months of age, he still hasn't self-weaned from the breastfeeding, we'll wait for AF and call the clinic to launch the FET cycle. I'll rent a good pump and pump my milk morning and night during feeds and build a nice little stock in the freezer. When I start Suprefact (21 days after AF starts), I'll stop breastfeeding and switch Jérémie to the bottle with my stocked breastmilk. Depending on how long we have to wait until Suprefact has cleared my system, either Jérémie will self-wean or I'll dry out or we'll give him soy or cow's milk (by then he'll be able to digest it). I'll keep pumping to keep my production up and get him back on normal breastfeeding when I'm clear. And that will allow us to attempt FET.

Of course, if Jérémie self-weans earlier than 18 months, we'll attempt FET by then. I think this respect the whole family's personal limits.

So that's it ladies, I'm officially awaiting tmt now! Don't know for how long, it depends on Jérémie. Take care and enjoy life...and the weekend!! I'm leaving for Quebec city on Sunday with Jérémie to visit my family and I'll be back on Thursday, but I'll check on you girls!
