Ghost I personally welcome any athlete, singer, performer etc who can distract me from the troubles of the world. My husband has served in Iraq so I know personally that there are much more important things in life. If good music can put a smile on my face and bring me joy in trying times, bring it on! MJ's music just happen to do it a thousand times over!!! :D :D :D

cymplicity27 wrote:Wow! ajdec. The man died yesterday. Whether you like it or not his MUSIC touched people all over the world. We are not blind to all the craziness and drama that surrounded him in his latter years. We are neither naive or stupid. He led a very sad life from childhood until he was a grown adult. We'll never understand much of his personal life or what he went through. He was never convicted of pedophelia and no one knows what his relationship was like with his children (unless you of course got the inside scope on everything  ) It's ok not to be a fan but you don't have to stomp on everyone else's emotions and be mean. If the thread didn't suit you, you should have just moved on. Feel free to continue to bash the man the day after his death if that makes you feel warm and fuzzy inside, but how about starting your own Michael Jackson bashing thread? Meanwhile, those of us who are fans can express our condolences respectfully...as Rosario intended when she started the post.
Well said. No-one will ever really know what happened (no doubt they'll be people wanting to sell their stories now!) but the fact is that he was a legend when it came to music. I a bit too young to fully appreciate his music through the 80's even though I grew up listening to it from my brother and sister! But I can totally see why people became fans of his. His music is brilliant. He just suffered a very sad and disturbed childhood/adult life.

RIP Michael Jackson x

Really cymplicity27? "He was never convicted of pedophelia??" I suppose you think that OJ is innocent too, since he wasn't convicted of murder. Never being convicted of a crime and being innocent are two very different things.

I really don't care either way if the man is dead or alive. Doesn't have any effect on my life at all. But I agree with Ghost...there is WAY too much news surrounding his death.

haha sportsmom....so true! I wanted to respond earlier but just let it slide, I am not one who likes confrontation, in person or virtually through the magic of my keyboard.

But I would like to say my peace on MJ...although he had a very tragic upbringing and quite a disturbing lifestyle at times, there is no arguing that the man was brilliant at what he did. He was a musical genius and an artist in every sense of the word. The entire world is grieving right now, reminiscing about his songs and videos, remembering our childhood and when we tried to do the moonwalk across the kitchen floor in socks! He was an icon for many generations, will never be forgotten and may never be replicated.

My heart goes out to his children, family and die-hard fans. And although I agree with ghost that media coverage for these types of things is way too much, I will enjoy the next couple of weeks reliving the joy from his music and videos all over again.

I'm with Ghost on this one. It's sad for his family that he died but I am a little sick of hearing about it on every news station 24/7. That and this ridiculous coverage of Jon and Kate + 8.

Angela- We know this is an infertility website, that is true, but in all the time I have been a member here, some large social events have compelled people to share their thoughts and seek the thoughts of the wonderful women here who they have learned to trust and love as virtual friends.

Maybe it should have been posted in the general forum where you can post about anything. I have a thread over there called "reality TV Junkies" which is in no way related to IVF, except that I am enjoying talking about things with people who happen to be going through the same thing. I guess sometimes, it's just nice to talk about something other than ivf, but still with who understand what I might be going through.

Anywho...no matter what anyone's opinion...I still love you all and wish you all the best in your ivf journeys.

Seriously this is too much. Sorry for those who got offended that I posted this. It doesn't matter if its and infertility forum. We don't need to have our heads into it 24/7. If i didn't post it in the general forum please forgive me for that too. Do you know how many times there are news coverage for stupid issues? Do you guys see anyone complain about it? Well as an artist he was great but he also had his issues. I am not going to downgrade him now that he is dead. He will be missed by many and some people will be happy he is dead. I am sorry for those who feel the need to cause drama over a post. Its not that serious guys!!!! We need to be here for one another not to get upset over this. Things like this def make me want to not post here anymore.

Please don't stop posting.

If my post bothered you, please keep in mind it was aimed at a puzzling illogical feature of our culture, not you specifically.

Rosario- I agree with ghost, no need to stop posting. I am sure nothing said was directed towards you personally, and it is completely ok that you started a thread about a topic that is hot and current. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions and if people aren't happy about this thread, or others like it, no one is forcing them to read it or post on it.

You are a valued member of this forum...and you don't need any added stress while taking care of those 3 beans growing in your belly! Take care of yourself...and don't let a message board post bother you...nuff said!

Rosario - It no big deal to me that you posted. I look at a topic and if it might not be what I am interested in, then I just don't read it. No big deal. I also agree that we shouldn't have to worry about IVF 24/7 and if it was posted in the wrong spot. O'well there are a lot more important things to worry about in this world.
