Hi Ladies,

Well I have come to terms with my crappy e2 numbers and accepted the fact that I won't be cycling soon, and it could be a while. RE did call me around 5:30, and he knows I am mad. Of course he answered my questions and made me feel a little better, he has a way of doing that. He is such a nice guy and truly cares about his patients, and how could I be mad at him when he gave me my little miracle Ella.

He said that he is increasing the lupron just to see if I am a rare case that may supress with a higher dose, but he said there is no prrof that 10 units is better than 5 or that 20 is better than 10 and so on. He said if my insurance didn't cover the lupron and it was costing me a lot he would keep me at 10 units, but since I am covered, no harm in trying the higher dose. He said it is more about the time on lupron than the amount of dose. He said obviously I need to be on it for a good while for it to work. He said my brain is ignoring the signals from the lupron and my ovaries are doing their own thing, but he said eventually my body will give up and just supress. He said the plan is to try the higher dose and do u/s and bw in 2 weeks and bw every week after that until I am supressed. He said it could take many more weeks, but it will happen.

I do hope the higher dose will work, but I am done hoping for the best. I am now expecting long delays so I don't get my hopes up only to be crushed. Every time I get a delay I obsess about missing that months cycle and immediately want to know my next goal date, I am done with that. I am not going to ask the plan until it is ready to happen, I will take each appt one at a time and when I get good news, then I will plan for the next step.

So I guess for now I will stick around and be a knowledge giver, your cheerleader and the "list master." And hopefully after you all get your bfp's and move to the pregnant side of the boards, you will come back and check in on me. :D

Ct_Michele: You have such a good attitude about this and you're doing so great! You are very strong and I really admire you. I truely wish you the best with this. I will be praying that you are that rare case that responds to the higher dose!!

Michele - not to speak ill of your doctor, but mine said the exact opposite. He said in 90% of cases, doubling the lupron dose does suppress, and like I said, it did with me. I also second what Johannanita said. Ours is also open 7 days a week 365 days a year because it is about US and OUR schedules. I am absolutely optimistic that this will work for you. (((hugs)))

Hi All,
i am 39 and have been reading this forum with great interest! It really gives me hope and much needed knowledge about this issue.

I started my injections on Sunday with Decapeptyl and Merional and has my first ultrasound on Sunday. Has 2 cancelled cycles because ovaries did not respond to meds.

In may my doctor told me that i have premature ovary failure. FSH was 35. He subscriped DHEA and my FSH is down to 9.5 from 35. I am remaining positive that this time my ovaries will respond better.

Wishing every body the best of luck and let us continue to be positive!

OMg ye are busy girls!!!

Michele i am soo sorry your cycle was cancelled again, you must be so bummed and frustrated. You are a great inspriation and motivator on the boards even when your cycles dont go as planned. I too dont understand why the embryologist is only there once a month but diff. clinics i suppose, lets pray a miracle happens. Thanks for all the AF dances!!!

Katie99 fingers crossed you dont get cancelled either, thanks for advice root canal with anaesthetic does sound like good revenge ha ha. I am feeling better now

Nicole79 Welcome the more the merrier, i am also doing a FET though i only have 2 frozen so terrified the wont survive the thaw.

Annisabug Yeah another PUPO - you go be a couch potatoe well deserved, fingers crossed lots of frozen babies xxxx

Hi Rikirees sorry about you suffering from OHSS but from your DD sounds like its well worth it.

Babydust 2 - hi hopefully 3rd time lucky for you too, have they changed your protocol much??

Liana & lw918 - I feel nearly as nervous for ye as ye do!! Best of luck today please god there is lots of baby dust in the air.

Liana i do a 3 day transfer now as last yr on my 4th cycle none of my embies made it to blast and i was devastated i didnt get a transfer it felt a wasted cycle i would rather get a transfer and be eased into the idea of a bfn then arrive up and be told sorry no transfer but saying that its not often someone doesnt get at least one to transfer but i wont be risking that again unless maybe donor.

AFM my tummy is in a ball today doubt if its the meds already prob just the excitement

gi xxxx

CT_michele- i'm really sorry for your delay, but i'm glad you have faith in your doc and that he is convinced things will look up after what they have learned from this. and yes, you must remember they helped you will ella, that will always keep you going.

katie99- any news yet? when is your next exam?

rikirees & babydust2- welcome!!!! It's a nice, knowledgeable group of ladies here! i'm new to ivf and have no friends who understand so i'd be going crazy right now if i didn't have them!

gi- you should be excited...you are on your way to stims!!! Enjoy your time away with dh, it sounds fantastic........mine is not quite so romantic but i love him just the same!!!!

julie nurse- thank you so much! i took your advice and started talking to my little ones. it has given me back my pma and peace of mind and helped to make it more real for me. i woke up feeling much better today! and i must admit i "think" i am feeling things but it's probably just my mind playing tricks. i am leaving the house to run errands and get a mani/pedi to make the day go by faster! YEY!

To all of you other lovely ladies.....enjoy your day and keep your eye on the goal......BFP's for all! :D

Thank you ladies for all your kind words.

I don't know why my clinic does all of their cycle's once amonth(it actually is like every 3 weeks). During the week of ER's and ET's, they are open 7 days, sundays and holidays if they need to. They do about 12-18 people in each cycle, I guess it just works for them. It is crazy because they are more expensive than most places, because they give a lot of personal one-on-one care. I mean, I know everyone that works there, RE does ALL procedures and he is an awesome understanding guy.

I guess all my phone calls and whining from yesterday worked. Even though I talked to RE last night, the coordinator just called me because I left a very upset message on her voicemail before I talked to RE. I again expressed my concerns to her and she agreed that we can check every week if I want. So instead of waiting 2 weeks to see if the double dose works, I get to check in just 6 days! I told her I would just go with it and I am happy about a once a week check.

sunny- enjoy that mani/pedi, I think I am going for one next week. And keep talking to those em-babies!

gi- have fun on your little trip, sounds wonderful and a great way to take your mind off things

babydust- welcome to the boards, these girls are the best! I don't know what I would do without them all. I hope you respond to your meds this time!

So for now I just drag along on lupron. I guess I will focus all of my energy on ella's big birthday bash...it is going to be the best first birthday party ever!

Hi ladies -

Well I am knotted up like a pretzel to see if I'll be cancelled or not tomorrow. I think i'd be more positive if my E2 was a liitle under, but since its ALOT under, I dont know. theres such a jump between 20 where I am and 100 where they want me, I sure hope that it increases, but is that too big a jump for just 3 higher doses? I dont know. Its out of my hands for now. ......

michele - Your strength is an inspiration to us all! You truly are a "valued contributor"!! I for one will still be here when you're levels settle down some. I'm hoping that what dogz said happens for you too!

cheeky - you have the best attitude, so upbeat! thanks

babies - Its almost friday!!! I'm so excited for you!

Anissabug - You are PUPO!!! Wishing you patience & sticky thoughts!!

rikirees - Welcome! God bless your DD - 26 weeks is so early, she must truly be a fighter!! :D

ray of sunshine - thanks! I have my fingers crossed for the both of us! We are in the same boat, I go tomorrow for next b/w & u/s - xoxo

johannanita - thanks! fingers crossed for you too! I'm right there with you on being scared to be cancelled.. again!

babydust - Welcome! I've never heard of any of your meds before, which part of the world are you from?

gi - thanks! I'm so glad that you're on your way now! Have a glovely time at the spa! OH, am I envious of that! :D

sunny - how are you doing? I sure hope that your DH is up on his chores now! Enjoy your mani / pedi ! next exam is tomorrow, cross your fingers for me, please

HUGS &PRAYERS to us all!!! xoxo

There is so much going on here, it has been hard for me to keep up!

Michele: just wanted to add that I was on 20mg of Lupron from the go this cycle, as my RE was trying to really surpress then really push my ovaries. It helped. I never did 10mg of Lupron the first time, so not sure how much worse the side effects were (I definitely got headaches), but you can do it, and I'm hoping it will work for you!! Thanks for all your support this month and I will probably not see you on my next cycle, as I'm sure you will be ready to go again SOON!!

To the ladies getting betas today, I am holding my breath for your BFPs!!! Keep us posted.

AFM: went to see the RE yesterday, and it is Soooo frustrating that we don't know or have many options to increase chances on next cycle. Because of my age (almost 39) we are getting 9-10 eggs/cycle, but only about a 30% fertilization/embryo rate (w/ICSI should be like 67%). Don't know if its my old eggs (I was told they aren't fluffy like they should be??!!) or my DH's sperm, which has low motility/high morphology issues due to anti-sperm antibodies post vasectomy reversal. The only thought she had was to do an aspiration of sperm from his testes next time, to increase the chance of getting sperm without the ASAs. Not sure if anyone has had experience with this.

Anyway, it's a bummer because every cycle means fresh stims and my poor DH-2B is wondering if he really needed to get that surgery now that they are going in with a needle. We are also both analytical and wishing there was data and science to explain our BFN and how to fix it. Unfortunately, life just doesn't work that way I guess. We have to have faith and try our best again in Oct/Nov.

hope this wasn't tmi for everyone, so helpful to have a place to vent.

Sending much sticky and patience dust to all of you in your 2ww and to those stimming and prepping as well!

- Amanda
