I forgot to tell you that I'm due April 13, but b/c I'm having twins it will probably be closer to the end of March. As far as symptoms go, I just feel yucky all the time. I'm not really sick to my stomach, but it sort of feels like motion sickness. I'm also hungry all the time. I'll eat and a hour later I'm hungry again. Luckily I've not had any food aversions other than the terrible heartburn I had when I woke up the other morning after having some tomato soup. No more of that for me.

Marymegan: Funny-your due date is my birthday :) When did you find out you're having twins? How far along ?

Angie: I hear that ginger candy helps nausea. Hopefully you were able to have some lasagna-sounds yummy.

Truebeliever: I wish you all the best on a long successful pregnancy. Have you tried acupuncture?

Babiesgalore: They release me to my OB at 12 weeks.

To all you other gals: I look forward to getting to know you better.

So I guess I can go ahead and join this group.
I had a scan tuesday that showed me 5 weeks 5 days along. They also, much to our amazement, found TWO little yolk sacs!
We were so surprised as my first beta was only 125. One baby is front and center and we were able to see it's heartbeat, which really surprised the tech and dr. They said it isn't very often that you get one to show up so early. We did not see the heartbeat for the second baby yet, but were told not to worry at all. They said it's early and the other one is laying a lot further to the back. Of couse, I'm worrying hahaha! I have another scan 8/31 and pray with all my might both babies are growing and both heartbeats are strong.
They also discovered in the scan that the dr that originally performed my HSG Scan failed to mention I've got a septum in my uterus (Basically a divider). At least that is what it looked like on the u/s. This puts me at a greater risk of miscarriage and preterm labor. I will see a specialist at 12 weeks.
I'm not sure how long I'll stay with my RE. HE has already recommended me to an OB he feels is equiped and competent in my situation. I guess I'll know after the next u/s.
Just hoping for the best at this point. Really excited, but cautiously so. EVERYONE (and I mean everyone) knows we're pregnant, but we know that they will support us in the event that something goes wrong.

thanks tortilla... No, I have never tried acupuncture. I don't know much about it, and I think I have the fear of the needles to be honest.... Wow, your RE keeps you until 12 weeks, that is amazing.

LW congrats on the twins honey... Take time to relax and enjoy the months to come... I know it's easier said than done, we all have fears of our pregnancies...

AFM, I had my final RE appt Friday, my beenie is growing right on track. HB was a string 165. I have my first OB appt this Wed afternoon. Looking forward to that. Hoping to see my miracle again, not looking forward to going weeks or even months withuot a quick peek... I do have a fetal monitor I purchased during my last pregnancy, so I am anxiously waiting to be able to hear that to use between appts.

How is everyone else doing?

Tortilla-I'll be 7 weeks tomorrow and I also go tomorrow for another u/s. Does anyone know when the doc's will release me? I don't know when I should make an appointment w/ my primary care physician for a referral to an OB. I'm w/ tricare (military) and it sucks. So many hoops to jump through, but w/ twins hopefully it won't be that difficult.

Hi

LW918 - great to see you here and twins aswell. The wait til the 31st must seem long. All our family know and a few friends and work people. I am looking forward to everyone knowing, if all goes to plan in 3 1/2 weeks.

tortilla - I ate some but left most.I have not felt that bad the last couple of days. Hopefully thats a good thing!

truebeliever - thats sounds like a good heartbeat. We did not get told what it was but that it was strong. I like the idea of a fetal monitor but worry I would become obsessed!

I have finished my progesterone now so fingers crossed all will go well. I am a bit worried but this is their standard protocol so I should trust them. I have been released by the unit and am now awaiting for an appointment at the ante-natalclinic.

Hope everyone else is doing well.

Angeinhull: lucky u for being off those progesterone. they are so yucky. I get off them when i am 10 weeks. Also wondering whether they will release me when i go in on friday for my next u/s as i will be just about 8 weeks.

Marymegan: i think all clinics are different for when they release u. I would go ahead thogh and get a referral for an OB and make an appt as that sometimes takes time.

TrueB: that is a great HB. Yah! and great that u got an appt with u're ob that quick. i too had a fetal monitor the last time and loved it as it kept me sane during those waiting periods.

lw: welcome. Twins is fantastic and i bet u were really surprised. Congrats!

Totilla: how are u doing? any morning sickness.

AFM, just waiting for friday to roll around for my next U/s. Also getting some nausea in the morning but nothing bad yet.

Hello, all you lovely ladies! My next sono is Thursday, and it cannot get here fast enough! I never thought of a fetal monitor. How do they work? I saw angie's comment about becoming obsessed and thought that is SO how I would become. But then I saw Babies' comment about how it kept her sane. So now I have to ponder, which would be worse? Me obsessively monitoring or going insane not knowing? UGH!!!!!

Thanks for all of the welcome thoughts!

DOGZ: I'm pretty sure the monitor just lets you hear the heartbeat- like a doppler.

I think that's a great idea! I may have to get one of those when I get far enough along. Since I've got twins and the split uterus I'm double high risk so I have a feeling I'll be seeing these two pretty frequently. It was just shy of two weeks between ultra sounds and I'm still goin nuts! haha!
I have been sick as can be! Today I didn't feel sick at all so of course I was convinced something was wrong- I gotta learn to settle down cause I can't stay stressed the entire time. The curse of being a nurse :)

MaryMegan: I'm not sure, but I think you add it to your signature in the "edit your profile" area.

I had my first official ultrasound today! The twins are doing great! We were able to hear the heartbeats too! Twin A's heartbeat was 144 and measuring right at 7 weeks. Twin B's heartbeat was 119 and measuring 6 weeks 4 days. My dr. says this is perfectly normal and that my chances for a m/c are now down to 5%. My dr. also went ahead and put in for an o/b consult. I'm so glad that I don't have to go through my PCM! I guess I can officially get excited now!

Marymegan: THat is fantastic!!!! Good heartbeats.
I have my ultrasound Monday and I feel like time is dragging. I really need to see both of those heartbeats to reassure myself that this is real! I'm still in that stage where I'm like "Can this really be happening for me?" I havn't even made a ticker because I haven't seen both heartbeats. Ugh- I'm ridiculous! HAHA!
Everything sounds like it's going sooo well! I'm excited for you :)

I don't know if you saw, but I replied above to your question about the ticker- i think you just put it in your signature.

GO ON AND BE EXCITED!

Marymegan: those are awesome HB. Congrats. For the ticker, choose the BBcode from the forums list and cut and paste from <img> in your profile. It took me a while to figure it out.

Dogzrule: the monitor is like a doppler and lets u hear the heartbeat. just put the gel on your stomach and run the monitor till u hear the h/b. there are various kinds but i rented the basic one last time. Good luck with the u/s tomorrow. I go in on friday. all this waiting is nuts.

To all of you: How far along were you when you got your first ultrasound and did you hear a heartbeat or heartbeats? I know each clinic is different and bI've read that some of you got them done at around 5 weeks. I wonder why I have to wait until I'm almost 7 weeks. My first ultrasound is this Friday which I'll be 6w6d. HELP!

Truebeliever: You can hardly feel acupuncture...it's like 50% less than a rubber band snapping. You would love it!

Marymegan: Awesome news and great heartbeats. You must feel relieved to hear both :) My doc releases me at around 12 weeks.

Angiehull: I hope you're feeling less queezy lately :)

Babiesgalore: I still feel great and I'm wondering if that's normal. I haven't felt any nausea at ALL! Hang in there for that ultrasound...I'm waiting for Friday too!

LW: You're not crazy! I'm not making a ticker either until I get my first ultrasound this Fruiday...I'll be 6w6d.

Dogz: If you get the monitoryou must give us the scoop on how it works!
