Thanks Kipatte,

I've just put her down at 8pm tonight...and so far so good...no tears or screaming. I will go up quietly and check on her in a few minutes, I think I will try to get her to bed at 7.45 tomorrow. Fingers crossed that she will sleep right through tonight, I'm feeling a bit weary tonight and could do with a good nights sleep too!

Miley's birthday went well. She had cake everywhere. My mom had a small mini cake made just for her and she nearly ate the whole thing!!! Does anyone have food ideas? She seems to spit alot of things out and need to come up with different meals and food that she might like. Any tips on switching to whole milk? She doesn't really want anything to do with that either.

Glad Miley had a fabulous B-day. Can't wait to see photos. Here is a list of things that Stephie loves

1. Steamed Brocholli
2. Steamed green beans
3. Baked Salmon
4. Chicken Drumbsticks
5. steamed corn and peas
6. garlic bread
7. cut up ham
8. yogurt
9. cut up cheese
10. cut up pineapple, orange and grapes
11. cut up turkey burger
12. Scrambled eggs
13. Toast with butter
14. Cherrios
15. Cut up tomato, onion and cucumber ( I like to put cut up ham with the tomato sometimes
16. Almost anything with philidelphia cream cheese.
17. Cut up strawberries

I know the above is not too diverse, but at least she is getting some food

I read somewhere that they respond to colorful plates, cups and cuttlery so I have a doidy cup in every color and she likes to drink out of that. How are you serving her milk? Just curious.

I was JUST about to post not having heard anything from you ladies... from those of you who remember her I have to say I am totally disappointed that LisaPa has NOT gotten back to me on the birth of her baby due late March/early April... :-(

Carolinagirl I have NOT found you one FB! Where are you? Do you know how to invite a friend??? I can't seem to figure it out since they changed the profile pages...

I just found out my babies LOVE salmon!!! After eating THEIR dinner the other night I decided to give them a bite of my dinner (I am the only one in the house who likes salmon...) and they LOVED it and kept opening their mouth for more!!! So I just packed it up for their lunch the next day along with the sweet potato I made for me which I also did NOT eat! No dinner for mommy :-(

So how is everyone's body? I have lost 8 pounds since the winter and I am happy... I do sometimes feel sad though that I will never be pregnant again (not that I really want more kids OR that I am particularly happy as a pregnant woman but it am sad I am older and its no longer an option!).

I am going to email WC again and see how she is doing - that is if she responds... she is a busy woman!!!!

Oh, let me add that my babies are still on formula and bottles. My little girl spits out the milk and my baby boy just won't drink it once he gets a taste... It also helps them to keep getting vitamins since their foods are not as diverse yet...

Miley is off formula... yeah. Saying a few more words mama, dada, no, wow, ouch, and dog. But she has started screaming!! about everything. My brother in law made a comment today about her being spoiled, it kinda hurt my feelings. after everything we went through with her yea she may be a little spoiled. But couldn't it be that she can't really express herself yet so she needs to be heard somehow?? What are some fun games that you play with the babies? Miley loves hide and seek. need some more ideas..

Hi Carolina Girl:

All babies scream. They like to hear their voice. It will take care of itself. Stephie screams and I see joy in her eyes. She is just experiencing herself. I know it can be in-convienient out in public, but it won't last long.

Also, You can't spoil a child at this age. Right now I am just focused on getting her the developmental toys she needs. She enjoys self play with the little people. The farm etc. The jump and spin Zebra is a favorite. We keep blocks, stacking toys and puzzles available which she plays with. The wheely bug (ride on toy) and anything you push or pull are favorites.

We play together with little people, puzzles, blocks, and Mommy and Stephie ride around the kitchen together in a swing car (plasma car in the states).

We have a small slide and paddling pool in the yard. She loves the slide and will do it over and over again. We also do 3 play dates a week and go out on the other days either to the park or walking the seafront, and sometimes shopping. She really loves to go bye bye and gets a little stir crazy if we are in the house all day.

Hope this helps.

Miley is almost 14 months now, and is doing so much. She has a temper on her. Loves to be outside and hates the car seat. She likes to watch mickey mouse and she does the hot dog dance. We have heard her say plenty of things but not repetitive. The only things she says often is hot dog and mama. How can I work with her to get her talking more? She has said baby, yes, dada, bubba, dog, and nana before but only once. I worry so much about her not talking that much. My son talked so much by this age we would tell him to say something and he would try, miley just kinda looks at us. She follows directions well though like get your shoes or cup stuff like that. Any advice on tantrums and biting? Getting her off the bottle was sooo easy, the week of her 1st birthday just didn't give it to her anymore. Guess since she never said baba it made it easier that she didn't call for it. Should I talk to doctor about her not talking? What are all your babies saying? The woman at mileys rehab place said if i was ever concerned about something to call them....

Miley sounds lovely. It is so interesting to see how their personalities develop. Not to worry about the talking. The babies in my baby group are all around 15 months and none of them are talking but saying a few words or Jibberish.

Stephie says a lot of jibberish. The only word she says over and over again is dog. And she says ma ma, daddy, bye bye, thank you, but not all the time.

Tempers are the frustration of not being able to talk but wanting to communicate. I read this will go away some when they have more language. In the U.k. they recommend reading Toddler taming which has good tips for tempers, biting, and other things. I did find this book helpful.

Stephie loves to play and we have bought her a lot of the schleich animals and she loves them. If I say where is the gorilla she can bring it to me. She also will entertain herself with the little people for quite some time. We love Maisy books and Maisy CD's which I will let her watch 5 mintues at a time. Its teaching her lots of things and she is mesmorized by the video. She cries when I turn it off. I watch with her and make lots of comments so she doesn't zone out.

We still do a bottle at night and in the morning. She still uses her binky and it does the trick so I am not worried about taking it away right now. I rather have the peace. I love the way she is gentle with our dogs. She also will "kiss" if you ask her to which means leaning her face out until you kiss her. She does this to her dogs and stuffed animals too. It's funny to watch.

This is such a great age. I am enjoying it so much. I love the toys and I am trying to restrain myself from buying too much. It's sooooo tempting.

Love to all,
kipatte

hi kipatte

how are you? Its good to read about all the babies and what the mumies are doing.this morning baby kerryl-maria wanted to go to work with her dad!!!

she enjoy eating sweet poptato and spinach broth. her favorite fruits are orange and bananas. She also enjoy peas and beans.

You wanted to know where do we come from as it say in the indian ocean. We come from the seychelles, a beautiful archepelego in the indian ocean. It is a tropical paradise and a popular tourist destination. If you click on the net you will have an idea of where we come from.

i want to write more but kerryl is going up and down on the sofa so i need to go and look at her.

take care

Its been ages since I've been on here, doesn't time just seem to disappear so quickly nowadays...its a bit scary.

Ellie has just got some of her back teeth so has been a bit tetchy on occasions, but luckily she is still sleeping throught the night....thank goodness for Calpol.

She never shuts up, all of my friends with children older than Ellie comment on how vocal she is, she'll say Mumma, Dadda, Bubble, and loves saying Hiya and Bye Bye to everyone we walk past, much to their amusement! When we do Old MacDonald had a farm she can now do the noises for cow, monkey, lion, snake....OH OK.. our farm is really a ZOO!

We are still giving Ellie a bottle at night time but I think we could probably stop around about now. Ellie mostly eats what we eat now, she absolutely loves boiled eggs.

We have tried taking Ellie to animal parks and similar attractions, but we figure that she is still really a bit too young to appreciate and enjoy it fully, but we have had good fun on those days anyway.

DH and I have finally decided that we are not going to try for any more children, in a way it makes me a bit sad, but I am so grateful that I have actually had the opportunity to experience this life changing motherhood. So in September, when the clinic send us a reminder to pay for refreezing our embryos, we will instruct for the disposal. :(

Do any of you have a trailer that fits on the back of a pedalbike, we got one in the hopes of doing a cycling holiday, well we changed our minds as we were having difficulty in making it comfortable for Ellie, we think we just about have that sorted, and as it is totally chucking it down with rain I am quite relieved that we did not do it!

I have finally decided to sort out my post baby body, I rejoined weightwatchers and have taken up running. I can now run for 5 miles in 50 minutes without stopping which is a great feeling, but I still have 2 1/2 stone in weight to lose!

I hope all you girls are keeping well

Mandy

Mandy - I am so sorry to hear that you will not be using your FEs! I know for me I would want to try again if I had more FEs - I am just grateful that I don't have any because I really couldn't do more kids at this point and my twins' father flat out said he would not allow donation (creep that he is). What a tough decision...I know I would look at my beautiful angels and think about the potential the FEs are to be another one of them and I just couldn't do it so I thank God everyday I don't have that choice to make. I am glad you are well and that you are taking control over the "baby body"!! I just started that too. I HATE that I have a little extra on my belly when I NEVER had that before (not even after my first)- it's uncomfortable. So I started the ABS (for abdominal) diet for women. It has an exercise and diet plan in there but its not a REAL diet, its just making the food you DO eat count! It helps get to your LEAN self :)

OK, so girls!!!! where are you all??? I've caught up with a few of you on facebook but many are MIA! WC has a blog so I keep up with her that way.

Well, can I ask...? HOW do you get your babies to bed??? Mine SCREAM and disturb each other and to allow them to go off naturally means they are up until 10 or 10:30 sometimes and I just went back to work after our summer break and I NEED SLEEP!!! Any suggestions????
