Hi all,
Just a quick check in. Sorry I've been missing, my Grandma passed away so dealing with a lot.

We had our 10 week check up 2 weeks ago and it went well. We really liked our OBGYN and he did another ultrasound, it was really neat to see how much the baby had changed in just 2 weeks. We decided against doing any of the genetic testing. Several of you were talking about this and our reasons for not doing it were very similar to the ones already given. Although it would've been nice to have another ultrasound done, we won't get our next one for 2 months :( My next doctor's appointment is September 17 but I expect it to be a quick one, and than after that is our big scan.

I am at 12 weeks today so I thought this was the start of the second trimester but my books says that you aren't through the end of your first trimester until the end of week 12, so I guess not. I need to adjust my ticker, my OBGYN changed our due date again to March 9, but it should stay at that now.

No huge change in symptoms for me, I don't feel quite as tired as I did earlier on. I did go and buy some maternity pants and a friend gave me a bunch of her maternity clothes and a belly band.

It sounds like everyone is doing well, wishful congratulations on the twins, how shocking!

NT scan this morning showed everything normal for us as well. Showed 1 in 8200 for downs and 1 in >10,000 for trisomy 13 & 18. We are super-relieved. It was great to see the baby moving all around as well. We got some really good u/s pics to show the family. Hope you are all doing well.

Daisy and Baylorbear - glad to hear that things are going well and that you have good outcomes from your NT scans! Another load off, right?

Belle - I am sorry to hear about your Grandma - that can be very stressful. I hope you are getting time to relax and do things for yourself, too.

Hopeful VA - If you are reading this.... I just saw in your other post that all three of your babies' heartbeats are good and strong and baby B's size has almost caught up to the others. How wonderful!!! I wish you continued strong little beans.

Everyone - I think we are all busy and enjoying the last few weeks/months of great weather... I hope everyone is feeling well and the nausea is starting to abate somewhat.

Question - Has anyone else felt their fundus (top of the uterus) yet? I felt it a bit at around 11 weeks, after reading how to find it, but now, in the morning especially, there it is, pointy-round and obvious, just two inches below my navel. Pretty cool, actually. It is a lot harder than I expected. Best to be felt when you really have to pee, lying on a hard surface, starting above your pubic bone and moving upward with your flat hand - best of all first thing when you wake up. Cheers!

Hi Ladies!!

I am so glad to hear that everyone’s nuchal tests have gone well! What a blessing! Strangely I had a dream the other night that we ended up having a little boy and that he did indeed have down’s syndrome. It must just be something I’m thinking about these days.

Welcome Ange – Glad you decided to join our thread. I’m due Feb 21st so “technically” I’m crashing too. EVERYONE on the Feb board was pregnant with twins except for one other person. I figured they’d all go early and I’d be left by myself around 34 weeks. Hope you are feeling great. Congrats on being on “this side.”

Hopeful – I also saw that your third baby had caught up. WooHoo! That is soooo wonderful!

Baylorbear – I am jealous that you have a Doppler. I totally want one but DH is afraid that I would be obsessed with it… which I totally would be. Glad you are feeling a little better!

Monkey Girl – I have not tried to check out my fundus yet but now I’m intrigued. I will have to read a little on this and give it a try.

AFM – I have lots more energy and lots less nausea so that is all good! Boobs have gotten gigantic and I’m a little self conscious about them. Hopefully the belly gets bigger soon to balance it out. I have started having BH contractions already. Not thrilled about that as last time I got put on meds and bed rest at 29 weeks because I had them every 2-3 minutes. At least now I’m just noticing them a few times a day. And… I AM FEELING MOVEMENT! Just little tickles and pops, but I feel something at least once a day. It is awesome. Next dr appt is on Tuesday. Should be just a basic check-up. Hopefully all will be well.

Take care everyone!!

Hi All

Sorry not going to do all personals as I'm feeling a bit sick and very tired! Thank goodness it's a 3 day weekend. 5 weeks and I have 2 weeks annual leave.

Thank you all for your good wishes and I am always so excited to read new posts on here.

I am just wondering if anyone could advise me. I know it is too early to buy anything yet but I thought I should start planning with the positive attitude that everything will be ok.

The thing is my sister-in-law said we could have a lot of their baby equipment, but her daughter will only be 18months old when this one is due so will she not still need most of it? She said just ask but we really don't want to put in an awkward position.

It's great to hear everyone is doing so well! Belle, I am so sorry about your Grandmother.

I have had a dream pregnancy so far. I really don't have complaints or true concerns until this Saturday. We went out on the boat (we won't be doing that anymore) and had some rough water on the lake. Saturday night I got crampy and started spotting. Only when I wipe, not in my undies (TMI, I know). Spotting was off and on on Sunday and Monday and even still today.

I called the doc office and went in yesterday. They said its normal, but we listened to HB on dopplar just to be certain. She sent me home. I am still spotting, and hate it. I just want the spotting to stop, it makes me nervous. Its not heavy or dark, just enough to scare you.

Has anyone else had this around 13 weeks??? I know a lot of people have it early on, but I didn't. I went off of PIO about 1 week ago, could that have anything to do with it??

Thanks for the feedback!! XOXOXOXOXO

Hello All! No time for personals, but two comments:

Daisy - I also had my first-ever spotting at between 12 and 13 weeks, which I thought was strange. My Dr's office was closed for two weeks, so I had to ride it out, and it was only a small amount for about 3 days, and then it appeared to dry up.

I know it is typical to get spotting after any kind of movement that may have "jammed" the uterus - like a hard bump or hit, intercourse, etc, and that it is likely the cervix just bleeding a bit as it has increased blood volume and is more sensitive; or it may be a bit from the uterus. I wondered if mine at the time was either of the non-implanted embryos, but the bleeding would have been stronger, I am sure.

I have had nothing since then, and hope that you find it also just tapers off by itself. That being said, some women have mild bleeding their entire healthy pregnancies, so they say a little bit in itself isn't a big deal in general.

Julie - BH - I think I may be feeling them... I know they can come on early in some women, but I am not sure. They feel like the uterus contracting and are uncomfortable, but not outright painful - more of an ache. This is in addition to the pulls and pains from ligament stretching, so I assumed it was something else. I will have to look up BH earlier than I expected.... :)

Cheers all, and here's to the second trimester for most of you coming up shortly....!

Hi Everyone -

Ange - Your SIL will probably be done with lots of stuff at 18 months... clothes, toys, playmats, baby carrier (like a baby bjorn), cradle/moses basket, bottles, baby swing, wash tub, etc. It is amazing how much "stuff" only gets used for a short time. Since she has offered, I wouldn't worry too much about asking.

Daisy106 - has the spotting stopped? I hope you are not worrying too much. I hope everything is ok!

Wishfull - The movement is different each time. Sometimes a little tickle/flutter that last 2-3 seconds. Sometimes it is a push in one specific spot that last about 5 seconds, almost is if the baby is stretching. Sometimes it is just a little poke/pop. I do get an occasional "earthquake/rumbling" like the kid is doing an entire flip flop end for end. All of these are pretty light at this point.

MonkeyGirl - could be that you are having the BH contractions too. Mine aren't really uncomfortable, just the whole belly gets hard as a rock. I too have lots of round ligament pain right now... but not as bad as with my first.

AFM - Had an appt on Tuesday. Baby's HB was 145. My blood pressure was 102/62 and only 4 pounds total weight gain. I'm EXTREMELY happy about all of that. Can't wait to get to the 20 week scan and see the little bugger again!

Hope you are all well!

Julie- So happy to hear your appointment went well! It is always such a relief.

Ange- I can not seem to even think about buying or borrowing one thing! Isn't that crazy? I need to know the sex before I think I can start looking around. We are going in at 16 weeks to a 3D Ultrasound center to get sex. I don't care which one it is, I just want to know!

AFM- Very frustrated and scared out of my mind! I am still spotting every morning. It isnt that bad as the day goes on, just like old blood every now and then. In the morning though, the first time I go to the bathroom, it is a LOT of reddish brown. Freaks me out. I am sleeping on my left side, so I have no idea what is going on. Doc told me to try not to worry so much. Yeah right. I come in on Wednesday, and I am going to insist on an ultrasound. Is there anything else you guys suggest?? I do not want to go my entire pregnancy like this.

I hope everyone has a safe and relaxing Labor Day!

Hi All,

Daisy - I know what you mean about wanting to know but we have decided to buy neutral anyway to start with for 2 reasons. 1 that we may want another baby at some point down the line and 2 because they may make a mistake on the sex of the child. This happened to a friend recently who was told she was having a girl and then had a boy. I hope your spotting has stopped or slowed down more it must be very stressful for you.

Julie - Thanks for the advice. I will talk to her more after our 20 week scan. It's good to know what we can ask for. Congrats on a good hb. Well done on only gaining 4 lbs! I have gained more than that already. Sometimes though the only way I stop feeling sick is to suck some aniseed and liquorice sweets I have. I also feel hungry all the time the last 2 weeks, I am sick of fruit!

Wishful - how strange that you slept better camping than at home. I have never had a problem sleeping really but have been having strange dreams recently! Have you tried taking anything for the indigestion?

AFM, I had a couple of days not feeling sick which scared me but it has all come back now. I am still not being sick though which is lucky. Still very tired and am sleeping most evenings after work for at least an hour! Otherwise all seems well

Hi Ladies!!

I just had the NT scan yesterday and was very happy that we got to see the baby! But last night and today, my legs are very achey! I feel like my period is coming.....I'm not sure if it has anything to do with NT scan but I was wondering if any of you ladies experienced this? or if this is something to worry about?

CK- I have had that off and on as well. Generally just after I do too much walking or yoga. You may also have it if you have put on some weight maybe? Was your NT scan trans-vaginal or abdominal? Mine was abdominal, but I was crampy after because she pushed around so much. The baby kept falling asleep, and they could not see what they wanted for about the first 10 minutes! I wouldnt worry, but tell your doc.

AFM- doc appointment today. Heard HB at 155. Still spotting every morning, clears up by afternoon. They keep telling me not to worry. That it is probably extra blood vessels in cervix.

I have not gained any weight yet, but things have certainly shifted! I can still do Bella Band with my regular pants, but I did buy some maternity pants just in case. I have a feeling they are right around the corner. Feeling depressed, I called my sister - she didn't go to maternity pants until 8 months!! She is about a size 2, so I couldn't resist calling her a couple of choice names!

Hope everyone is feeling well and getting round!
