My progesterone FINALLY got over 20 woot woot! Granted, it's only at 21, but it's up! They are having me go to only one night time suppository instead of 3 times a day, which makes me nervous, but oh well!!! They told me to do that until I run out, which is in two weeks if I'm only doing it once. I REALLY want Wednesday (1st appt with OB) to be here already so that I can SEE that everything is ok. Anyone else feel like this? That since you can't see it, you can't help but wonder if everything is still ok? I hate being such a nutcase!

LW: Glad to hear your babies are growing beautifully! Good luck at your doc appointment tomorrow. If you need a cerclage, how soon would they do it? My next u/s is tomorrow afternoon and I'm excited to see what's going on in there. :D I understand what you mean about work too. I have my own business and am a go-getter, but lately I don't want to work AT ALL! UGH!!! How long do you think you'll take off after the babies are born? I've just started thinking about this myself.

Cressicaw: I understand about wanting to get away from negativity-ick! My IVF doctor's office is the complete opposite...so I find myself not wanting to leave them. :( You're so cute that you've already gone to Babie's R Us to pick out furniture! I want to start doing that too.

Angie: Wow that's great that you're 11 weeks already! How long do you think you will continue to work?

AFM: U/s tomorrow afternoon. C'mon 2 heartbeats!!!!! :D

Tortilla: I'm planning on staying home somewhere around a year, but we'll see how that works with finances and such. I'll only go on to part time I'm sure. It's so nice right now being able to run my daughter everywhere and just do whatever I want. I hate missing things while I'm at work. When I go to work as a nurse I wont be getting off of work at 3 to be home when she gets out of school and I can't pick her up from school for lunch- that's going to be a bummer.
I will be monitored from 18-28 weeks via vaginal ultrasound every two weeks. If I start to dilate the will do the cerclage during that time.

HOW WAS THE ULTRASOUND?! I am so anxious to hear about it.

Dogzrule: CONGRATS! on the progesterone. I was so nervous when I went off of mine Tuesday. I was lucky that I was at the specialist thursday and got to see both babies again. I'm sure everything will be fine

Babies, I've got all of that. I'm tired all the time. I take at least one nap a day and then fall asleep on the couch in the evenings. I'm exhausted. It's a deep sleep too- no cat naps. I also have the headaches and they seem to hit at abou 8 p.m. every night. I just want to curl up in a ball. I've never had such horrible headaches in my entire life.

AFM: off the progesterone for three days and everything seems to be going alright. Still fighting the exhaustion, headaches, and all day nausea. Less than 3 weeks til I hit 12 weeks and maybe I'll find some relief then.

Hi ladies,

I have been meaning to check in for a while, but the tiredness really hits me in the evenings and I just want to go to bed!! I think you all know what I mean!

I think we are all waiting for the end of our first trimesters...of course, because we can breathe easier, but also so that our energy returns and hopefully we don't feel all this queasiness!

By the way, I have been wearing the acupressure wristbands that you can buy at drugstores, and they really help a lot.

Skipper, I hope you found some reassuring information. I was worried too because my fetal measurements were a few days behind, but now they look okay. My RE said that the small measurements could have been due to "visualization"--I think he meant that this early, maybe measurements are not exact because of angles or something.

Dogzrule, congrats on the progesterone level!! Whoo!

Babiesgalore, would you mind sharing your thoughts about doing CVS? I am not sure whether to do it.

Cressica, glad your u/s went well and glad you get to go to your OB!

LW, glad to hear both babies are doing wonderfully. Keep us posted. Sorry you are getting sicker. For me, the acupressure wristbands and ginger capsules have helped, as well as taking my prenatal vitamin later in the day.

Tortillachip, I have been getting emotional in the sense of weepy. Everything makes me want to cry! I teach and research at a university. I have been able to work from home this summer, but I start teaching soon!

Truebeliever, please keep us posted on your NT scan! I am eager to learn about it.

AFM, I had my final u/s with my RE today and it went well. I was amazed at how much more you could see at 9 weeks v. 8 weeks.

Unfortunately, I am having complications with my insurance--long story, basically I am seeing someone new as an OB--so my insurance doesn't start until Oct. 1 and I can't see him until Oct. 2 anyway. I was hoping to do my NT scan earlier, but I suppose I can wait if I have to. The reason I was asking Babiesgalore about the CVS is that I need to have that done soon if I want it, and I don't think I can see my dr. soon enough. But my husband thinks it will be okay to do the NT scan first, and then amnio if we want to afterwards. That sounds like a good plan to me, but amnio feels like it would be so far away!

In hindsight, it would have been better if I could have gotten OB recommendations earlier. What happened, though, is I was worrying just about making it through the first trimester, especially with my "scare," and because of that, I think my RE kept me a little longer just to make sure everything was okay. So I only got to ask him for OB recommendations today. Oh well.

Take care, everyone.

Update:I had my u/s today and I have ONE strong heartbeat of 168 and they're measuring 8 weeks 3 days. I thought I was 8 weeks 6 days, but I was wrong. The baby's due date is my 7 year wedding anniversary with my hubby-April 19th! Twin B didn't make it. I'm disappointed but at peace that it wasn't meant to be. My do actually saw 2 smaller sacs today, which meant that 3 embies actually started growing (out of the 5 transferred). I took a video of the u/s today and the heartbeat for my hubby who was out of town. It was so much fun to watch!!!!!!!!! That's it for now. Love to all.

tortilla - How old are you? You look so young on facebook. I asked this because they transferred 5, holy cow. I begged and begged for 3 but my doctor said "no way" because I was under 35. I am so proud of how well you took the news, that is the right attitude... besides... you are going to be a mommie and that was what this was all for. You are soo blessed.

Liana - thank you for the advice on thw wrist bands, I will definetly try them. Sorry to hear about the insurance frustration, good thing you have it all worked out now.

lw918 - you are so lucky to be so close to your 2nd tri-mester... Yahoo!!!

AFM - The ALL-DAY nasuea has arrived and it stinks. I feel sick from the time I wake up till early evening... and I hear this lasts a long time. I haven't actually thrown up (sorry for TMI) but I feel like my stomach is in my throat.... YUCK!!! Plus, I am soooo UNMOTIVATED. I try to swim laps but I don't want to do too much exercise since doc said with till 2nd tri-mester, so I just am a lazy bum that takes little bites of things all day. I am now at 7 weeks 1 day and my DH gives me an update everyday and today it said the baby sucks his thumb.

Tortillachip, I am glad your u/s went well. Wow, 3 embies started growing! That is amazing. I am sorry about Twin B and glad to hear that you are at peace. I believe they are all little miracles and I have been trying to recognize every day what a miracle it is that my one "good" embie (according to their grades) has been sticking with me!

Cressica, sorry about the queasiness, I agree, it is yucky! Have you heard about Vitamin B6 and Doxylamine? I haven't tried it yet, but I am saving it for when it gets worse. Doxylamine is in Unisom Night-time Sleep-Aid, but not necessary in other Unisom products. I am also a lazy bum eating all day! It may sound great to others, but it is definitely frustrating not being able to do things....but of course I also know it's nature's way of forcing us to relax.

Get this, my husband's mother and another friend of his who is like a mother to him have "warned" him not to "let" me eat too much, because he told them about all my cravings. Hello, they are each 100 pounds more than me, I don't need their lecturing!!

Take care, everyone.

Cressy: That stinks that you've been feeling so bad lately! I hope you overcome it soon. You're so sweet to say I look "so young" on Facebook-hee! I'm 38!

Cressi; Sorry to hear about the quesiness but i have also been going thru it. I get hungry all the time but as soon as i start eating or drinking water it feels like my stomach is in my throat. But am just glad to be feeling something that tells me i am still preg. hang in there and it will soon pass.

Tortilla: Am sorry to hear about twin B but so glad that twin A is such a survivor and that u are at peace with it. I can't believe u transferrred 5. Wow. There is no way my doc would have transferred more than 3 at the most even though i am the same age as u.

Liana: Eat, eat, eat. Pls these people don't know anything. I feel that we should just do what our body is telling us to do. will worry about losing the weight after the baby is born. Regarding the CVS, it is a very hard decision and a very personal one. Everyone feels different about it because of the risks involved esp given all that we've gone thru to get to this place. for me, the reason i am doing it is that during my last pg my NT results were high so we tried to go for a CVS but because my baby was not in the right position they could not do it. We then had to wait till week 16 for the amnio where they found severe chromosome abnormalities and i lost the baby at 17.5 weeks. If nature had not taken its course we were going to terminate the pg because we felt it would have been unfair to the baby. So i don't want any surprises this time and want to find out as early as possible. They do the CVS between 11-13 weeks and the amnio between 15-17 weeks or so i believe. The risks are there but we are ready to take it on because of what we went thru last time. I think that if my NT results were normal i would not have done either an amnio or CVS. Also it is really impt to find a really good doctor with lots of experiences. Just my two cents. Hope this helped. Am sure u will make the right decision for both of u.

Hello My Pregnant Friends!!!

Post by TrueBeliever »

Hello my wonderful ladies.. I know I have beenMIA lately, but I have had a lot going on... So sorry, looks like a lot of you have a lot going on...

Tortilla- I want to say i am sorry to hear about your twin, even with the bad new it made me smile to know you had the strong heartbeat for baby A. That baby will be joy, and you will see a reflection in the 2 that didn't make it.

Cressi- I dalt with the all day sickness from 6-10 weeks.. It is now on and off. I have lost 4 pounds. I told DH the other day, i am eating more now and not gaining an ounce. He said just wait...LOL

Liana- if you or your baby wants food.. Eat and enjoy your pregnancy honey. Don't worry abut anyone else or what they have to say. As long as you take care of yourself, noone should have any worries... I am actually looking forward to the cravings...

Babies I understand your concern for having the CVS. I too had a lost just as you, but my NT scan came back normal. So, we still to this day do not know the cause. If I was more aware of what to ask or request at the hospital I would be in a better situation. Since they didn't do well documented, we are stuck with the guessing game. So, I am scheduled for a cerclage and will be starting 17P shots at 16 weeks. Hoping this help carry me further in this pregnancy.

Cressica- how exciting that the DH is just as excited as you with sending you daily updates... Mine is excited, but all he keeps up with is hoe many weeks I am and the daily kisses and touches to the stomach. It's such a wonderful thing.

LW- when you take that year off can i stay at home with you??? :) I wish our finances were ni such order for me to have that option as well.. I will probably just take the normal 6-8 weeks off. Where I work you must take your own leave or borrow against the system. Wish I could get disability for that time to save my time off.

Angie- time is flying huh? I look at the calendar and April seems so far away, but it seems like the weeks are moving quickly so far. We still have not told anyone about the pregnancy. We will break the news to family at 13 weeks, then I am really thinking about waiting until about 20 weeks to tell the boss. Really am nervous about when to tell considering we have had a loss.

AFM- not much going on my way. I have 2 more weeks before my scheduled NT scan, so I am looking forward to seeing the baby... It's such an amazing thing, especially as they grow and look more and more like babies on ultrasound. If we are blessed to go further with this pregnancy we plan to do a 3D/4D ultrasound, does anyone else plan to do this? Someone asked about my Doppler, I believed we paid about 100 for it last year. If you do purchase one, just be ready to be patient and try not to worry if you can't find the baby right away.

If I missed anyone, I hope you all are doing well and enjoying every moment of your pregnancy!!

Hi everyone

I just thought I would share something funny / annoying with you.

I was chatting to my SIL on facebook as her daughter has been quite ill with croup and I had been checking in for updates regularly ( was very worried as she was struggling to breathe). Well she is fine now.

Here's the thing in the midst of chatting we were talking about what baby stuff we would like from her and how I was feeling. Then she said do I want the pushchair and she was saving all the clothes in case I have a girl.

I answered naturally about no we don't want pushchair etc, etc..

2 days later my mum calls. She says 'your niece was on the phone and asked if you are pregnant and then your sister called with same thing, they have seen it on facebook!'

So my plans of a secret are out, here's hoping not too many from work read it all. I have not deleted as all will find out anyway.

You have to laugh though..

Tortillachip - I am so sorry to hear about Twin B, but very happy that Baby A has a strong heartbeat.

I have been MIA lately - staying busy to keep my mind off of things until my second ultrasound this Thursday. Remember I had the small gestational sac measurements last Tuesday, but the fetus measured right on with a heartbeat. I've not had any cramping or bleeding, and have been experiencing a good bit of nausea the past 3-4 days. I am 7 weeks 5 days, will be 8 weeks when we go on Thursday. I hope to see a huge growth in the gestational sac (and the fetus!!!), and a nice, strong heartbeat. I am trying to stay positive, but I have to prepare myself for the worst just in case. From what I read, small gestational sac can go either way. Some women go on to find that the sac catches up, others miscarry. I just don't know how this will go.

I am so happy for everyone nearing the end of their first trimester with nice strong babies growing!

Hey everyone. Hope you're all doing well
We had our Last appointment with RE today. Both babies doing well. We could really see them this time! One baby was doing jumping jacks and flipping every which way. The other one must have been napping because it didn't do much flipping :) it was SO cool!!!!!!

Congrats Lw. That must have been an awesome picture. Have u made u're appt with the OB yet?

I had my first appt on monday with my OB. She gave me a big hug. Did not get to see the baby as she said i had alot of u/s. But i had my usual blood work and pap and all. Not fun. I don't go back for a whole month. She did say that i am really showing and appear to be quite big for 10wks. Not sure what that means. But my belly is already out and have to wear the bella bands with my pants now and a wrap to cover the bump. Is anyone else experiencing this.

My next big date is next friday for my CVS. I am so nervous and prob will not sleep at all the nite before or the whole weekend till i get my results. Trying to be positive.

Hope everyone else is keeping well and the babies are growing baeautifully! Hugs.

Had our 1st appt with the OB today, and the baby was doing GREAT!!!! Moving around in there like crazy. I could not believe my eyes, it was TRULY amazing! :D Babies, I can't remember, but are you PG with multiples? Could that be the reason? I've gained about 3 to 4 lbs, and while I have a tiny pooch starting, I'm not showing where anyone but my hubby can tell. I know all will go well with your CVS test, so hang in there!
