Dogzrule: I bet tthat was exciting. It's so cool to see them moving aroundisn't it?

Babies, we made our appointment the same day since she is in the same facility. We see her next wednesday. My SIL had to see her since er reg OB was away and she said she was taught to u/s each time with multiples. I'm not sure how many u/s to expect. I have to get them every 2 weeks from 18-28 weeks to monitor for cervical incompetence.

I'm definatly getting big. Some of jeans are ok w/ a hairband on them if they are low rise, but I started on maternity jeans about 2 weeks ago. At this point it's not necessary for me, but they are so much more comfortable than having my jeans digging into me. This last week I've definatly poped some. My husband noticed my belly a couple weeks ago and this week my bestfriend and sister both noticed a difference. A friend gave me some bella bands, but they are stretched out and fall right off of me- I'm a bit small built.

I am 10 weeks today and two days ago I noticed the first trimester symptoms fading. I still feel sick after I eat, but I'm not longer sick all day everyday. I also only took a small nap today. I'm not exhausted ALL day anymore.

Hi all,
I'm feeling very bloated today and even though I haven't gained any weight...I just feel like my pants are not fitting and have become uncomfortable!

So I have to decide within the next week or so whether I want to do the CVS, Amnio, or the Nuchal Fold test. Because of my age (38) my IVF doc is recommending the Nuchal Fold test as a precursor, since there is no risk to the fetus...then if the reults show any abnormalities to go ahead with the CVS or an amnio. Any thought on this? I really need to do some research on this because I really don't know anything. HELP!

Hope all is well with you gals!

Dogzrule: That must have been so excited to see the baby move. I wish my OB had done another U/S. Ah well. I am only pg with a singleton so no idea where the big belly is coming from. My sis said that it could be that i never lost all my belly fat from the previous pg hence it is popping out a lot earlier. As long as my baby is healthy. Thanks for the positive thoughts for the CVS. Will be going crazy next weekend.

Lw: I also have started to feel less tired now. Yesterday was the first day i did not need to nap when i got home so maybe that is a sign. U must def be showing a bit now given that u are carrying twins. I'm totally with u re comfort.

Tortilla: That is a decision only u and u're DH can make. But if it was me i would go for the Nuchal test first and then see if u need additional tests based on the results. If u do, then u can go for the amnio which is suppose to be less risky than the CVS. U will make the right decision whichever way u decide to go.

Thanks Babies Galore!
I think is going to be a very hard decision because I work with a lot of children with Down Syndrome, as well as other syndromes. I see all the care they need, all the therapies, and typically little progress. I just consider the Nuchal test a guess from what I've read and I know that I would want to know if my baby had a chromosomal abnormality. I'm leaning towards the CVS or the Amnio. Any other thoughts would be greatly appreciated. I couldn't sleep last night just agonizing over what could go wrong after ttc for 5 1/2 years. I woke up and just cried. It's like we've all been on this long road to finally get here...and now faced with another roadblock.

Tortillachip: I would do the nuchal. My understanding is that it more often gives a falst positive than a false negative. So it may cause undue worry if it results that baby may have an abnormality and it actually doesn't, but if it says baby is fine then baby is probably very fine. We're having the test because we weren't really given an option. Since we are seeing a specialist for the uterine septum the doctor does the test on everyone.

I'm not sure if it would change anything for us if our tests come back positive. I guess it would just depend on what the dr says. I'm sure everything will be fine :)

Tortilla: I totally understand what u are going thru. I am going thru the same thoughts at the moment which is what if it happens all over again. How i face it? But i am trying to be positive and take it one day at a time. So just think positive thoughts and go with it. Am sure everything will be alright and u wiil have a beautiful baby in 8 months!

Truebeliver - I would love to do the 3D but I am really trying to save $$$ so I can stay home with the baby for at least 4 months, so I may not get the 3D unless it is a gift from someone.

skipper - my prayers are with you that everything will be perfect!

lw918 - oh, you are just sooo lucky, that is amazing. Can you believe you are having twins?

babies - I am 8 weeks today and I already started wearing the bands too. Doctor said last week my uterus was twice the size, cause I thought it was my swollen ovaries but she said they are normal now... so we are just showing already, which I love, I rub my pregnant belly all the time and smile!!!

dogz - that is sooo sweet, a lil jumping jack :-)

tortilla - try not worry, my sister had a test and they told her that my neies brain was abnormal and she should abort, my sister refused because she was going to raise the baby regardless and they were completely wrong! Abby is a healthy little girl today. I personally will not be doing an amnio because of the risks.

AFM - Today was my 1st appointment with my OB and I got to pick the hospital we will be deliering in. My doctor was so excited for me, everything measured perfectly and I got another picture of my peanut. I asked her when I can breath easy (I am 8 weeks now) and she said my chances of miscarrying are extremely low. So I left feeling sooo great!!! This morning was the 1st morning I wasn't sick, so that was wonderful. and I just love my lil pooch, it is adoreable. I told my husband, "look honey, now I look pregnant and not fat". The IVF shots and drugs have made me go from a size 4 to a size 8, so now I embrace it because it was soooo worth it!!!!

Tortillachip: That is a really hard decision, one that is very personal. I will be having the nuchal test just to give an indication of any potential issues. If necessary, then I will decide on further testing.

Just an update - I had my second ultrasound today. I am breathing a little easier, but still a little concerned. I am 8w0d. The sac still measures a week behind at 7w0d, but the fetus is measuring 7w4d, not 8w0d.....so about 3 days behind. Baby measured right on at my last u/s at 6w5d. So, we've seen 6 days growth in the baby in 9 days, and 9 days growth in the sac in 9 days. Since the baby has not grown to a full 8w0d, the size difference between the sac and the baby is now adequate......there is about a 9mm size difference in the two, which is perfectly fine. But, the most important factor is that the heartrate is 163.....we even heard it! It was awesome. I am going back to my RE next Friday for one more check. He told me to make an appointment with my OB in the meantime.

So, for now, I guess all I can do is see this as a positive step. I can't believe I'll already by 9 weeks at my next appointment!

DH - 36 Low counts

I am fortunate to have an OB that does an u/s at every appointment, and he is seeing me every 4 weeks (until we get closer to the end, I assume). My hubby and I decided to decline the testing (I am under 35) mainly because we wouldn't terminate the pregnancy. Also, there is no history in either of our families of anything.

I got my VERY FIRST flu shot yesterday. :D

My pants aren't fitting me anymore. YAY!!!!!!!

BUMP! Where is everyone?!?

I was wondering what everyone's prospective due dates are?
I would be 40 weeks on the 15th of april, but since it's twins and 37 weeks is full term I'm thinking I'm probably looking at the end of march if I go "full term" (Doubtful since I now have 3 things working against me making it all the way to that due date!)
I see my OB for thefirst time wednesday so I'm sure she'll offer some insight on what's going to be going on as that time arrives.

So how is everyone feeling? I'm anxious to get to my scan wednesday because (Knock on wood) I feel REALLY good. I have energy, I am STARVING. I've lost weight so far----still showing because the babies are getting it all, but I lost it through my arms and face, legs etc. I didnt want to eat anything because I felt sick all of the time. It's a big change to really really want food. I'm also not very tired, which is also different from the 3 or 4 naps a day :) I know it's because I'm nearly to the end of the first trimester, but it's still almost unnerving to loose those symptoms. I'm kind of like -I know this is probably ok, and actually a good thing- but I just want to double check on these babies- hahaha.

Anybody else feeling better??

Skipper: Regarding your due date: are you figuring it out by the first day of your last period or did you use the due date calculator for IVF patients? I previously was told by one of the NURSES that my due date was April 17th but then the doctor told me that wasn't right. It was really April 19th. Just a thought.

AFM: So I went ahead and made my appointment for genetic counseling and the cvs testing...it's September 29th and I'm really nervous! Plus we won't get the results for 2 weeks! UGH! I am praying that everything will be just fine.

Hello everyone.. how has everyone been doing? I noticed the site has calmed down a bit.. Is it because the newness of pregnancy has now worn off? Are we no longer excited, or do we just not have much to talk about anymore? I am not one to talk because I have also been MIA. Been working extra hours at work lately, my time off is limited and we are trying to go out of town for the holiday. SO, I must make the sacrifice and it is taking all my extra energy away.

LW- you are right.. It will be great to make it until 37 weeks with the twins, hopefully things go well and you don;t have to go on bed rest and if so, it's not too early. I know many multiple pregnancies go on bed rest. Are you prepared for that possibility? :) Get that time to relax before double trouble!!! I am like you, most of my symptoms no longer exist, it is quite scary but I just think that if I am not bleeding or cramping that everything should be fine... knock knock knock on wood...

dogz- you are very fortunate to get an US every appt. I dont't think I get another one besides my NT until my anatomy scan at 20 weeks. Which is bummer, it's only 8 weeks away, but seems like eternity... I see you got your first flu shot, what are your thoughts abut the H1N1 vacine? Is anyone thinking about getting it? It's kind of scary being it will be the first dosages, but they say it is prone to be most fatal in pregnant women.

Skipper- My due date is April 2nd, it was given from the last day of my cycle. sounds like your baby is trying to catch up.. Thats truly a great sign. Just continue to stay positive and I am prayerful that things will work out.

Cressica - I understand what you are saying about the unnecessary bills when you want to stay home.. I don't think I will be able to stay off more than 2 months. If we are blessed to carry to term, I will go in debt for the chance to get the 3D DVD. This is truly our last hope for a baby as it was teh last egg, so everything to capture the moment for us we will try to do this time around. That is cool you are now looking pregannct, I can;t wait for teh day to actaully get that baby bump..

AFM, not much going on... Have my NT scane Monday, so really looking forward to get to see the baby. At 13 weeks it is such a huge difference. I am truly having the scan just to see the baby, don't really care about the results. We still have not told anyone, plan to tell peopel very close to us in about a week, and then still goign to hold out until about 20 week sor until showing for everyone else. We are just trying to be really cautious this time. I know it is supposed t be a happy time, but it is so hard. The fears overcome the joy for some reason.

If I missed anyone, please forgive me. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.

tortilla - I did genetic testing prior to IVF, it was required. You can pretty much do it on your own, all they did was make a family tree/genogram and listed family members and their illnesses. If you had it on both sides you were more likely... seemed pretty self-explanatory to me and I had to pay like $300. Although there are some diseases like cystic fibrosis that if the female doesnt carry it then you are in the clear.

skipper - have you heard any news lately?

dogz - have you heard anything about swine flu vaccine. We had a teacher pass away here in Florida yesterday and he was only in his 30's, plus at USF (where I go to school for Social Work) there are 2000 students that tested positive. I am trying not to worry but I just want to do whatever is necessary to protect my baby.

lw918 - my due date is April 30th

Hi everyone. Nothing much happening on my end. Just getting bigger by the day. I now have to hide my bump at work for fear of people asking. Just waiting for my CVS results and then i don't care if people know. Oh and i have a bacterial infection (TMI) so am on antibiotics and iron supplement (boderline aneamic). The iron supplement is making me so bloody constipated (sorry TMI again).

Cressicaw: My OB told me that i should get the H1N1 shot as the benefits totally outweigh any risks. So i plan to get it mid october along with the regular flu shot. Just want to take all the precautions.

TrueBeliever: congrats u are almost done with the first trimester. YAH! Are u the first one in the group. Am sure u will see lots of difference in the baby on monday. Good luck!

Tortilla: good luck on the 29th. mine is on friday (25th). I am going to ask for the FSH results (comes back in 2 days). you should ask them for that. but the wait over the weekend is going to be so painful.

Lw: my due date is April 12th. I have not put on weight but have not lost it either. As i said i am def showing now and wearing the bella band all the time. Will buy maternity clothes next week once i get the cvs results in.

Hugs to everyone.

Hi everyone

Babies - when do you get the CVS result? Iam starting to show too. I have got out all my clothes from before I lost weight and hoping to use for a couple of months(tops that are loose mainly).

cressicaw - the genetic thing you did sounds really interesting. I have been doing our family tree but have struggled to find out any information about family let alone any illnesses. My family is quite split up and spread out.

True - I have been MIA as not really much has changed for me. My next scheduled appointment is 12th Oct so still 3 weeks. No more scans til week 20 either. So 12 weeks and no scan (from week 8). Are you really only going to be off work for only 2 months?

LW918 - My due date is April 1st. april fools day! This is quite fortunate as the law around maternity / paternity leave changes on that day. This means dh can share some of the statutary pay I am entitled. Good luck tomorrow.

skipper - good luck on friday. I hope it is all good news.

AFM. The last couple of weeks I have had really bad nausea but it has not been too bad the last couple of days. I have not had to sleep so much on an evening but I did fall asleep at 8.45 last night!
I have been trying to sort out finances for my time off next year.It turns out I can stop paying the mortgage and my student loan for 3months so that will help. So I think I will be off 6 months, how about every one else?

Hugs to all
