EYCI - Thank you for posting that, you beat me to it!!! As you stated, and ladies, you need to know this, the H1N1 vaccine is NOT live!!! The inhalant version is, and that one specifically says pregnant women cannot have it. I have received the regular seasonal flu shot, and I will get the H1N1 when it comes out because the risk to me NOT getting it is greater than getting it, due to my profession and the great number of kids I come into contact with every day.

Helen - so glad you jumped over and joined us!!! (((hugs))) And the worrying will NEVER end. It will now jump from one u/s to the next lol.

lw - sounds like you have one very active kiddo and another very chilled-out kiddo. That's good! Don't worry, I have no doubt that everything is GREAT!

AFM - doing much better with the nausea being all but gone. I cannot believe I am going to be 13 weeks day after tomorrow!!! omg!!!!

Hi Ladies,

So nice to hear how you all are doing!

Helen, welcome! What a nice u/s experience! I feel the same way about being exhausted. It is hard not having the energy to do things (even to read this board sometimes), but at the same time, I am just grateful to be pregnant at all.

I feel the same way about the nausea--I am okay with it because I'm happy to be pregnant--but at the same time, I am looking forward to the second trimester and not having it anymore. Tortillachip, you are SO lucky you didn't experience it!!

Cressica, it is funny about smell. Normally, my sense of smell is not very good (my husband has a keen sense of smell so he comments on it). Now, I am so sensitive to smells that perfumes can overpower me (which they didn't before), and today I smelled the heat from one of those leaf-blowing devices!

LW, I'm sure there's lots of twins like that, one who's active and one who's chill. It would be too hectic if they were both active! When we adopted our kitten from the shelter, she was very active and she had a litter-mate who was very calm.

Babiesgalore, that is great news about your CVS FISH test! I know the bleeding is so scary, glad to hear it was probably just a blood vessel.

Dogzrule, glad to hear the nausea is easing up. And by the way, you are lucky you finished your endometrum last Wednesday! If I remember correctly, it was a suppository? My RE told me to keep taking my progesterone suppositories till I'm 12 weeks, probably just to be safe. He said I could stop them a little early if I wanted, but I figured, what the heck, I'll just keep taking them. So my last day is this Wednesday and I am celebrating! The itching was driving me crazy!

AFM, just waiting till I can take my tests. I went to an event to meet some doulas the other day; it was very interesting. I need someone who will be supportive of my wimpiness. I admire women who do natural childbirth but don't think I can do it! Ouch!

Take care, everyone.

Babiesgalore: What a relief you must be feeling! I'm so happy for you I feel like dancing! That's funny that you didn't ask the sex...have any feelings on what you would guess the baby is? Hope you sleep well tonight knowing your baby is safe and sound. XO

Liana: OMG I can't even imagine natural childbirth! Although my pain tolerance has gotten better with all the needles we used to get us ready for this pregnancy. I would love to meet with a Doula though for more information. I tend to get anxious in stressful situations and I think a Doula may calm me down a bit ;-)

Dogzrule: Thanks for all the information regarding flu shots. I work with little kids everyday and think I probably need one. I will speak to my OB about it. Are you a teacher? If so, what grade?

AFM: CVS in morning...can't wait to get it over with. Results are in Thursday. Keep me in yolur prayers tonight and tomorrow gals ;-)

Everything I've read said that the vaccination being made available here would just be the flu-mist in the beginning. Actually, there is word around the hospital that we won't be getting any for quite sometime because we're not a high risk state?!?!? who knows. Gonna wait and gt the real info on that from OB.

Babies: Congrats on all of that! Little girls are so fun. I bet you're excited to start buying up the pink!

Tortilla: good luck today!! I know everything is gonna be perfect.

It's so weird not to have a dr.'s appointment this week- or for three more!
I have been at the dr at LEAST once a week since the end of June.

Hi Everyone!

Sorry I've been MIA! I've been meaning to post my good news for days! I went for a final ultrasound with my RE last Thursday - I was 9w0d. Baby and sac had caught up almost completely! Baby measured 8w5d and sac measured 8w3d, but more importantly, both had over 9 days growth in just 7 days. HB was 174. What a relief! And I could NOT believe the visual difference in size over just one week. We could see arm buds and legs. It was so amazing. RE and I were both so relieved that everything was on track.......finally.

My first OB appointment is next Monday. I'm hoping he can hear the heartbeat with the doppler in his office. I'll be 10w4d, so I think we should be able to. I rented one of those home dopplers when I was pregnant with my daughter and heard her heartbeat at home at 8w6d, but I'm not sure I'm going to rent one this time. It sure helped my sanity with that pregnancy though.

I'm going back through posts to read everything I've missed!

Hi all,
I got my CVS done and it was a pice of cake. He did it transvaginally with the use of a catheter and it was over within 5 minutes and was painless. Results are in Thursday afternoon or Friday.

Babiesgalore: A GIRL!!!! I'm sooo incredibly happy for you. Thanks for thinking of me today. I felt it :-)

LW: Thank you for your thoughts too :-) Hugs! I'm sure it feels strange to not goto the doctor. We're so used to being watched by doctors that it's weird when the loosen the leash.

Skipper: That's great news about your baby catching up in size. Have you heard the heartbeat yet? If not, I can't wait for you to hear it. It made it so real to me, you know? Like "Wait, I really am pregnant!"

Off to rest gal...
Much love to you all!

Hi Ladies,

I hope I am not jinxing myself, but today I feel less tired, so I hope I start getting some energy again!

Babiesgalore, I love little girls, they're so cute!

Skipper, so glad to hear your good news. I thought that would happen, but I know how worried I was when my fetal measurements were behind; it's a relief when they catch up.

Tortillachip, glad to hear your CVS went well, will definitely keep you in my thoughts and prayers. You ladies are giving me some courage for my diagnostic tests.

take care, all.

Tortillachip: I have heard the heartbeat twice. It IS the most amazing thing! We actually heard it during the second and third ultrasounds. I am hoping my OB can hear it on his doppler at my appointment on Monday. I am glad your CVS went well. I am sure you will hear excellent results on Thursday/Friday.

Liana: Enjoy your new found energy!!

Hi everyone

Liana - hopefully it is a good sign. I had one day like that and then it all came back. I have been really tired this week.

Tortilla - Good luck for results tomorrow. Good to hear the test went well. I am not having anything like this, 20 week scan is next.

skipper - great news! I am so happy for you. You must be able to breathe properly at last.

AFM, I am now in 2nd trimester. Still feeling tired but nausea is less. Found out about my maternity pay this week. I will be paid 4 months full pay and then statutary til 9 months (about £125 per week). I think I will be off for 6 months.

Hugs to everyone

Ange

Angie: That is really fantastic pay. One of the main reasons I chose not to work (aside from the obvious that I'd be on bedrest) was that the most any prospective employer would offer me was 12 weeks and that included anytime missed due to bed rest. I knew I needed more than that so I just opted not to even start work :)

Hia girls - its great to hear everyones updates - it feels like im involved with about 20 pregnancies not just 1!

Congrats to the ladies who now know they are having girls - how exciting. I'm not sure i want to know yet - as long as its a baby im not too picky!!

Angieinhull - ta for the info about how much statutory maternity pay is - thats quite a lot isn't it?(ive never claimed any benefits in my life - its a whole new world to me!). I think we defo get a better deal than the girls over the pond when it comes to time off - I worked in the states for a year and was horrified to find that they thought a normal length of maternity leave was 6-8 weeks!! I am hoping that i can take a year off, but that all depends if our finances can take the strain, but at least 9 months otherwise. This baby is our one shot chance so it wont be like i'll get a chance to take more time off with baby number 2 - so i'll try and make the most of it this time!

Well i'd better get back to work. I am going away with my dh for a week of well deserved chillin after which we have our 12 week scan - i can't wait! so i will catch up with you all when i get back. Take care of yourselves and your little ones!

Love

Tortilla: that is awesome news. Said a quick prayer for u today as i had not read the posts yet. Yah! Another girl! Girl Power! U must be so relieved.

Angieinhull: Wow! That is a great package. i work for the federal govt and we do not get maternity leave - which sucks. We have to use our sick and annual leave. Have to figure out how much i will have as i want to go home (internationa) for 3 weeks over thanksgiving given that i prob will not be able to take such long trips (over 24 hrs) again.

AFM, going for a flu shot today. Yikes! U'd think i'd be used to injections by now! Also still getting bad headaches. Anyone else. Also a quick question, i have completed 13 weeks today and starting on my 14th week - does that mean i am on my second trimester or do i have to complete 14 weeks?

Anyhoo! Shout out to those in the 2nd trimester or getting there. another milestone met!
