Hi all!

Hope everyone is doing well & keeping sane & all! :)

I've not had a good week. Needless to say, I ended up in the ED thursday night. Pretty bad nausa and vomit.. (it does get funny) my husband was driving me in. Just a short drive! So you know when you feel like crap, and you're nauseated, but you know you're not going to puke... well that's how the trip started. We were not on the road but 2 mins. ... Let's just say my poor husbands car seat/front seat.. was covered.   he is still driving my car around avoiding the suv! lol

Needless to say, as soon as i got to the ED i "felt" better.. haha But i still checked in. Im thinking my week of     has been to all related to the metformin/glucaphage im taking, the Z-pack, and all the extras ive been taking (per my MD) the cerfolin, pnv, extra calcium, baby asa 81mg, bcp. Im not a person who takes things on a daily basis. Ive been trying to space all of them out! Hahh.. they got the better of me!

I was just convinced it was the glucapahge..it had been making me sick for the entire time ive been taking it! So when we checked in...they took me pretty quick!

I should have held up a sign.. "I dont have H1N1" i got my vaccine already! but i didn't realize i had one of my t-shirts from children's hospital on it! I think it was a subliminal thing..."hey, im one of you guys... get me in faster... " im telling my self that was the case! lol

Anyways.. trust me there is a point!

So after some fluids & a little happy meds. They sent me on my way home. All the lab work was fine. BUT...

the ED doc wasnt convinced that i didn't have H1N1. I had only gotten the live virus a week to the day. But i didnt have a fever, (however..i was on the z-pack. perhaps it masked the temps??) Ive had GI issues since i woke up on thursday morning & from both ends... fatigue, you name it... but NO Fever!

Plus I did care for a child at work who did have H1N1 almost 5 days earlier.

So?? did i have H1N1?? I think there was a good chance that i did have a mild case. Since i had some immunity to it, (well sorta..i got the live virus up the nose at work) But who knows???

Today was the first day i felt like going out of the house! For whatever reason, i was craving those bisq from red lobster... we went. that's pretty much what i ate! lol

Many moons ago, my husband (before he was my husband) he had did a number on my ottoman... He said after 5 years. We are even puke 1:1

Ok well hope this didn't get anyone sick! lol

But I can't even wait to if i do get prego's ... god help me with the nausea! lol I can take pain, but nausea and just feeling like crappers not so much.

So moral of story.. (ok im making it up...) Try to get a hold of Both Flu Vacines. The regular flu and the H1N1 vacine! I know im lucky since i work in a place (peds icu) that has been hit hard with pt's with the H1N1.

But for those of you who are going to get BFP's try get you're vac soon!!

I can't stress how much you need to call all you're different pharmacy's, health clinics, ect.. stock them if you have too... but get your H1N1 vacine.

http://www.cdc.gov/h1n1flu/vaccination/general.htm

here is a good link to the cdc for some good and correct info on it!

And get your kids vacinated asap!

P.S. Make sure you get the preservative free vaccine if you are prego's!! :)

So im sorry that you're faced with low follicels. But think positive!!
They got me (starting on 11/2) 300 foli two injections twice daily and menpu.. So keep the fait and just think. It only takes ONE!

I too am super worried about my stim process. only being 33 (34 in march ) i had a normal Clom chal test pre fsh was 8.5 fsh and post clomid my fsh was 6.5. But my AMH was 0.25!! on my U/s the only found 4 on one side and 5 on the other (on the 3 day ant fol check) So they are hopeing i stim! They said the AMH is only ONE test and they don't put all their eggs in one basket on just one test!

oh and i have the anti-phospholipid thing going on as well!

I've kinda adopted this attiude. My life will go on if i don't become pergo's. There is only so much I can do. The rest is up to the drs, the meds, my body and powers at be. My husband is still gonna love me the same, my family, ect... Im still gonna love ME the same no matter what the results are.... despite how much joy and/or pain it may cause!!

Anyways... I can't beleive that they make you pay a cancellation fee?? OMG!!! Im just kinda shocked? Is this a normal thing? Its not like we all havent spent money on meds, pre-work up, ect...

I do have coverage w/ my husbands insurance and he has coverage on his side as well. My insurance covers me as all things "Clinical" and my husband as "Lab" so all the work up right before the ER its on my cap and my husbands cap pays for all the embro lab stuff & trans back to me, ect.. We both have 15k for each of us, but its a lifetime thing.

Our clinic kinda does an alcart.. they don't charge us for things we don't need or they don't do. Ie.. assist hatching, ISCI..unless they need to....

my clinic doesnt do a shared risk plan..

(ok off topic again..lol sorry )

Well, today at my US my 6 follies were 14 x3, 16, 18, and 20. I just got the call and RE ordered me to take 250 u follistim now and do my 10,000 HCG tonight at 10:30 PM with my ER planned for Tuesday at 8:30AM. I am hoping and praying that the 14's get big enough to be mature and that most if not all of these fertilize. He's thinking a 3 day transfer is likely. Says you need 4 good embryos to go to day 5. That puts me at Friday. I'm both scared and excited at the same time.

me2009 -- I'm sorry you were so sick but that was some story! I can imagine what that car looked like! Also, thanks for your supportive words. I really like your outlook. You're right... it's not life or death with this. It's a desire we have. In the end we need to play the hand we're dealt and make the best of it. But my fingers are crossed that your stim goes off without a hitch. Keep us posted on your progress.

lou - best of luck for tue, and growth wishes to all of your 14 mm follies...

lou & me_2009 - thanks so much for the positive outlook, i can definitely use some positive attitude reinforcement... after our bfn this week i felt so down on myself i almost cancelled meeting with my girlfriends for brunch today - they are all proud mamas of young babies and i did not think i would be able to handle baby stories for 2 hours around. but i ended up going b/c i sooo needed to get out of the house, and i am glad i did. of course parts of the conversation focused on babies (and that was not easy), but my friends will always be my friends, and they come with babies, so i better get used to it... it's so hard to try to stay rationale while emotionally i am such a mess. but you are right - while we want children so badly, life will go on with or without them. and while we can't control whether or not we'll be blessed with the outcome we want, the one thing we can control is whether we'll let ourselves be happy in spite of it all. i am hoping that it will get easier as we continue on our journey...

Hello,
I am new to all this forum stuff. My name is Kelly. I am 29 years old. Located in Ohio. Starting my 2nd IVF cycle with you all. Starting stimulation Nov 25th Retrieval will be the week of the 7th. I was told by my new RE that I may be prone to implantaion failure due to hypothyroidism and he is having me take extra drugs the last RE never mentioned methylprednislone, asprin and lovenox. Is anyone familiar with this? Any information would be helpful.
Thanks

Justwannabamom-

Welcome to the forum, and lots of luck with your IVF cycle. As far as the hypothyroidism... My sister had 2 miscarriage because of a hypothyroid that went UNDETECTED until her 2nd miscarriage. She learned that if left untreated, her body was unable to support a pregnancy with a hypothyroid. She was given the proper thyroid meds, and went on to have 3 healthy pregnancies after, no more miscarriages. So take heart, and lots of luck!

Rosario-

Take it easy, and may your body heal fully so you are completely ready for the next IVF-->BFP :). Lots of luck, and come back to visit and give updates, please.

Julia_78 & me2009 -- Thanks so much for your support. This ER and ET are all I can think about right now. And I took your advice for the massage. I have a membership at a massage place for one per month, plus any additional for $30/hr. It's right up the street, so they were able to fit me in.

Rosario -- Sorry to see you go. If this cycle doesn't work for me, then I will probably end up in Jan with you. Best wishes!

justwannabamom -- Welcome. I am a pharmacist and although I am very familiar with the medications themselves, I am not very familiar with the use of methylprednisolone for the reason you stated. Methylprednisolone is a steroid with anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressant properties. I've heard of it being used in male infertility but I am not sure what they are using it for in you. Lovenox is an injectable anticoagulant used to prevent or treat blood clots from forming. Aspirin is probably being used for it's antiplatelet activity. From what you said, I'm not sure why you are at an increased risk of clot formation, but your RE apparently thinks you are. If you have specific questions, I will do my best to answer them.

I'm hoping I don't have the swine flu right now. I'm supposed to be doing FET in Nov. I have been running 102 temps and am still continuing to take my shots. Which really sucks when you don't already feel well and have to take these needles :( My body just never cooperates ever  Last year I had MRSA oh what fun that was, very hard to get rid of. I was trying to stay a little positive but it always seems like one step forward 2 steps back. I'm 37 and I do have a DD already so sometimes I question why do I continue this ? I want my DD to have siblings, if I ever have anymore children they better be very close !!!!!!! Sorry to complain just feelin horrible been running temps for 3 days now, just want to feel better.

Hi Lou,

Hope everything works out well for you. Keep your finger cross. Well, I am over 40, so I guess I am not qualify for risk sharing anymore.

I just had complete my 3 days stim med: ( Follistim 300, menopour x2, lupron 5-unit). It is 3 shots in one day, and both of them feel ok with me. only the Menopur hurts a little, but if I rub the injection area a little while after shot, it feels a lot better next day. So far, I did not feel any noticible side effect for me. only a little cramping and back pain.

I just finished my blood work this morning and hopefully everything is good. Looking forward for another US in a day or so, that I can confirm if I only got 4 folicles growing.....

Thanks all for your support and baby dust to all of you.

Please correct me if I am wrong but i think Methylprednisolone is used by some clinics so the body doesn't reget embies. I had to take that during my first IVF.

Hi Jenice,

Hope you can get better soon. I felt I was catching cold last week but luckly it didn't get worse. You can take plenty of vitamins and I do think it helps. Hope you can get better soon. Take care

Jenice - Hope you get to feeling better. Make sure you go to the DR if your temp stays that high.

Rosario - I would agree with your RE, let your body rest for a couple of months. That way it will be in the best shape when you do your FET and get another BFP...

justwannabeamom - welcome to the board. I have heard of prednisone being used for immune issues. My clinic uses this or they use dexamthisone(sp?) I have been taking Dex for 3 weeks now. Good luck on your cycle.

Lou - Thanks for the clarification on the Famera. I had researched a little on it and knew that it was supposed to help ladies with cancer but didn't think it was a chemotherapy drug. That is why I thought it was strange the pharmacy put it in the Chemotherapy bag. Glad you enjoyed your massage. I am doing acupuncture, which I love.

AFM - Start Follistim tonight. YEY!!
