hello, wow, this board is getting busy!
im just back from RE. i had a shot of prostap (lupron) a couple of weeks ago, it supposed to last for a month. i guess in the uk (i live in london right now) the protocol is different from what most of the people on this board have... not sure... anyway, today wasnt so good for me, i have developed a cyst so they did not start me on gonal-f today, i have to come back in a week. if the cyst does not go away they will have to remove it... RE suspects my estrogen is high too but i havent seen the results yet... i am very frustrated with this but now telling myself i just have to "switch off" for a week ... dont want to overanalyse anything at this point ...
janice - so sorry you are sick, get better and get started soon!
lou - congrats on your progress! you might be the first one here with BFP!
rosario - good luck to you next year!
supergenius - you are genius, the list looks great, i guess you have enough info from me to update my status?
have a good week, ladies! my Dh thinks i talk to you all more about the treatment than i do to him :-)

just got the blood work results, my oestradiol is less than 55... hmm ... then its the cyst that is abnormal? well promised not to overanalyse but if anyone has anything to share on this please do!

sarah ruth - my RE said there were no restrictions on anything really , the only thing he mentioned was the alcohol for DH as it affects motility... i am planning as long as i have the energy (keeps me sane!) to continue with yoga and other stuff like cycling until (hopefully very soon!) i get pregnant... and even then yoga is fine, my teacher has a class for pregnant women...

2010 - I have had cysts at the start of some of my cycles. As long as my E2 level was low, they let me go ahead and start the stims.

Good Luck

sara_ruth79- Hi! I definitely expereience hot flashes while taking Lupron, and every couple of nights will be pretty restless for me (just a lot of tossing and turning, vivid dreams, etc...). Last time I had horrible nausea in the morning after taking the shot but that has pretty much settled down this time around so it could have been from one of the other meds they had me on before that I am no longer taking. As for the stims I was able to excercise up until I started feeling bloated. You just need to be careful that you do not do a lot of twisting etc... b/c you don't want one of your ovaries to get twisted which is a risk as the follicles start getting larger.

Lulu68- I usually go once a week but that is just what works best for me. Definitely talk to whoever you are going to and see what they think will work best for you.

2010- Aargh - I hate those darn cysts that just appear out of no where - they are so frustrating!!! Keeping my fingers crossed that it takes care of it self over the next week!

Hello all. I'm hoping to join this group. I have done IVF one time before that resulted in a BFP. I am starting up again, hoping for another baby. I will be doing the micro flare protocol. I was not a good responder last time (only 4 eggs, two of which fertilized), so they are increasing my fsh. I have my supression check on Tuesday (Nov. 3) and start lupron on Nov. 5. Hoping to transfer the week before Thanksgiving. Good luck to you all!

I got the call from the clinic today and of my 6 eggs, 5 were mature and 4 fertilized. RE seemed very happy with this, so I am going to remain positive. Now I am hoping that at least two make it until Friday and are of high quality. If they all look good, then they will implant on Sunday. So right now I don't know if the ET will be 3 day or 5 day. They don't freeze until day 6, so it's really unknown if I'll have any that last that long. Starting progesterone injections this evening. I've heard icing the area beforehand helps.

I'm feeling quite a bit better today, not as sore from the ER. I actually felt pretty good right after the procedure but got progressively more sore as the day went on. They sent me home and told me to take Tylenol... but the discomfort was waaaay past Tylenol. Make sure all of you go home with a prescription for Vicodin or Norco and get it filled right away even if you don't think you'll need it. You'll be happy to have it if you end up like I did. At least it's only bad for about 18 hours or so before it starts getting better. :D

olim78, jandm, julia_78, turtle0619, me2009, LuLu668, & 10bear -- thanks for your support, crossed fingers, and wishes. I'm so far pleased with how this is coming along. As for doing anything special to help implant, I am following RE orders for that one! Taking methylprednisolone 16mg daily, progesterone 50 mg IM daily, and a prometrium 200 mg vag supp the morning of the transfer. I don't know about the pineapple core theory, but I suppose it couldn't hurt! Maybe I'll pick up a pineapple on my way home from work!

Supergenius Way to go on the update board! Really cool to see it like that.

Jenice -- Are you feeling any better yet?

Welcome to all the newbies to the board. Looks like I'm a few steps ahead of most ladies on here, which I gotta admit, is a little frightening to be FIRST. But I wish everyone lots of luck and baby dust. I'll keep you posted and follow you all through this no matter what happens with me this cycle.

I was told that you are to recieve acupuncture the day of retrival ( before your procedure) and the day of impantation ( before procedure). You need to have a consult before they see too. So a total of 3 visits. I am currently seeing a reflectolgist. That you can get as many times as you want and getting your feet massaged for an hour is great!!!!!!! She even comes to my house and is much cheaper. She is out of the Salem area in MA.

Hi Lou!!! Good things come in 4's!!!!

I will keep my fingers crossed for ya!

and to the others... all the newbies "Welcome" to this crazy little world of IVF! :)

Oh you guys want to hear a funny? So my RE gave me an rx for Ambien..

Oh my.. well the first 2 nights i took it. Well my husband said he wished he had a video camera.

I asked him at 3 am in the mornining in my "ambien state of mind" get the cats, (henry & charlie) and go to the olive tree and hurry...before they get us and the earthquake comes....

Ok guess you had to be there he says, Im not one to talk in my sleep! Im a pretty light sleeper and I had asked my RE for something to help me sleep.

It's gets better, the next night... (monday night of this week) i had called my sister's & her boyfriend about 4ish in the am! I was singing to Lionel Richie & the Comodores "that's why im easy" to them!

I HAD NO IDEA!! lol yeah its scary, but pretty darn funny...

My sister called me up the next day. I had no clue! I had been going to bed listening to my Zune to my Yo-Yo Ma trying to relax. Don't know how i ended up with lionel Richie's easy....

anyways, hope you all don't think im crazy for sharing. I guess you had to be there?

I have my supression check in am !!

Lou: Use ice bag before injection and use heating pad after. If still painful, you can apply Emla cream to numb the area first. Good luck!

my RE told us that my DH needs to massage my butt before and after each injection to prevent knots and such!

the NP in the office really stressed to my DH to massage each night for like 10-15 mins!!!! She so got brownie points with me!! my DH has bought into the idea! i told her (the np) to really play it up and said we could inject my DH for him to feel our pain... (we were totally kidding of course! )

But no seriously, massage & rub like heck each night!! that's what ive been told! ;)
