tortilla - I am still waiting for your baby posting :-) I can't believe I posted a pic of me with no makeup on and messy hair but my husband just snapped that picture and when I looked at it I couldn't believe how big my belly was - you have to try it. Baggy maternity pants and a tight tee made me look less fat, I feel so huge! I will post nursery pics whenever my husband gets around to moving the computer out of the room, it used to be the study. I am so excited. No flu shot or swine flu shot for me either and so far I have been super helathy, when everyone else at school has been sick with either swine flu, strep or bronchitis.

babies - That masage sounded wonderful I will have to try that.

truebeliver - I kind of get a sharp shotting weird felling in my tummy from time-to-time too. What are 17P shots? I am so sorry to hear about your loss, how far along were you? Was it an IVF pregnancy? I haven't really gained any weight yet, I went up to 3 lbs but then I will weigh myself again and am back to normal. No real cravings, just tired and loving food in general.

angie - I must say I am happy witht the health coverage here in the US, I don't even pay a deductable anymore so my visits are free. I have had 5 ultrasounds since I got pregnant, so I have felt very well taken care of. I am 14 weeks today.

dogz - how far along were you when they said they thought it was a boy? for me I was 13 weeks and it was for the nucal test that they said it was a girl, do you think I can trust that?

AFM - They just took me off the supositories and I am 14 weeks. I am kind of nervous because what if I needed the progestrone. I reald that some women start taking it their 2nd tri-mester as it keeps them from having early-term contractions. I don't know, I am a nervous mommy. I never ended up getting the flu shot and I am pretty much the only person at school who has not fallen ill. So, I am pretty happy with my decision but still hope I am doing the right thing. I am sleepy all the time, hungry all the time and my belly is finally popping. Plus, my OB said that I may not have to hav a C-section so I am so happy about that. I can't believe in a month I will be half way through the pregnancy.

cressicaw - I was one day shy of 15 weeks when he said that, so it was still a little too early to be able to see for sure. I know at our next appointment on Nov 17 we'll be able to know for certain because I will be 20 weeks then. From what I understand, the test you had done can identify for certain what it is, so you can bet it's accurate! :D

Hi all. Glad to see everyone is doing well here.

Cress - Don't worry about stopping progesterone. They wouldn't let you if they thought you needed it. I stopped mine at about 8 weeks and felt the same but the doctor said that our bodies are creating so much by then that there would be no problem.

Dogz - seems so close the 20w mark doesn't it? I will be on 12th of November and can't wait for the scan.

True - I am sure you will get help from others as everyone seems to love babies. Even my boss's boss said she will look see what she has left. My old manager has just offered me a cot. It's really nice as long as you son't mind second hand. I think as long as it can be cleaned it is fine. Obviously new matresses, etc.

AFM, I am feeling the baby a lot this last 2 days, it is really amazing. I have felt it for a few weeks but now it is much stronger. Last night in bed whenever I laid on my rhs the baby kicked and on lhs baby seemed to settle. Do they not like certain positions lol? I have 4 3 day weekends before christmas to use up my annual leave. It's great. We get 25 days a year but because I was signed off sick for treatment I have a few days left. The factory I work in is open 3 days between christmas and new year this year which is only the second time ever and I need to work at least some of that as they need technical and quality support! Oh well roll on next year and lots of time off!

Looking forward to hearing from everyone!

I have a new favorite store... Pea in the Pod! They have the cutest clothes, really!!!

I am really starting to pop now, people are really noticing that I am pregnant and not fat.

Still no fetal movement, not that I can feel anyway. I am 14 weeks and 5 days. When does it start?

I decided to hold out in purchasing a heart monitor since I should be feeling something soon. How many of you have a monitor and can hear something?

Hope all is well... take care mommies.

Cressicaw I have heard of them, but havn't heard if they actually work or not. I wanted to take one, but figured it wasn't going to be effective with twins
I love Pea in a Pod as well, but they are so expensive!! I decided I am going to splurge on a nice sweater or two for the holidays. So far everythiing I have my mother bought me or came second hand from ebay or used stores. I did buy a couple of plain t-shirts from old navy. I most live in hoodies, but I'm already tired of that and mine are getting small. I'm trying not to go overboard because my sister in law, who is also having twins, said that the maternity clothes she started off in come to her belly button now. I know I'll have to get more towards the end. It's hard though! When you've waited SO LONG to be pregnant all you wanna do is buy tons of wonderful clothes to show off that baby bump!

AFM It's been kind of a crazy couple of weeks here. After seeing the neonatal/maternal specialist for the cervical length he has decided he wants to be more agressive. I'm officially on "light duty" which basically means I have to sit around all day. I can stand for about 15 min. at a time. I am also on pelvic rest because the placenta of baby A is partially covering the cervix. Hubby isn't exceptionally thrilled with that part :( I have to have weekly cervical checks, which also means I get to see the babies weekly! This week the measurement was definatly different than the one taken last week. Dr. Said that since the last one was at the specialist it's hard to tell what is really going on because you've got two different people doing them, two different machines, two different techniques. I'll go back next week to the same u/s tech and hopefully there will be no shortening. In the meantime they were very bent on the rest rest rest! It scared me. For the first time I realized how quickly something can happen and how real the posibility of me going really really really early is. I'm trying to just follow the rules and hold these babies inside.

hello ladies. how is everyone doing??? Hope things are moving along quite smoothly for you all..

LW.. that is neat you get to see the babies weekly, but I am sure the light duty is going to be ahassle. But anything to keep the babies safe and secure is worth it. How long is your cervix right now? Have they thought about doing a cerclage since you are having the weekly checks?

Cressica.. I have also heard of the test.. I don;t think it is worth the money.. It is going to give you a 50/50 chance in all reality.. I have heard of it being right and wrong.. So, I guess it would be neat to try to see if it turns out to be right, but that 30 could be used on buying a cute thing for the bundle of joy!!! :) I have a HR monitor, and have been able to hear something since I was about 11 weeks. I don;t use it very often anymore.. Maybe once a week if that. the 17P shots, is another type of progesterone used to help prevent preterm labor.

Angie.. how exciting that the baby has been moving alot.. My baby moves here and there, but it has not become constant. I do swear that I think I have felt a jab or or a very light kick this week. Been only a couple times, but caught me off guard. I am anxiously awaiting him to get bigger to really feel him rolling around in there.. I think that will be so amazing.. We don't have much longer before they get more often and stronger.

Tortilla... Tahnks for teh words.. Yes, the twins are watching over me and they are sending strength to me to get through this one with their younger brother. I have gained 10 pounds and I just feel huge...

babies.. Sending you lots of thoughts and prayers as you come to that difficult time where you also had a lost. Like you it has been dificult, but it is our time. We will haev our babies, and everything will be well. I have a picture of the twins feet on my desk. The hospital did really well, they gave me a keepsake box that had pictures, blnkets they wrapped them in, rings, flower seeds, and many other things... I was blessed to get so much to have to remember my babies.

How is everyone else doing? I noticed the thread has come down.. Hope it's a good sign.. Some, we have't seen much from lately... Anyone having any weird feelings or cravings? I have one weird thing going on.. My top half of my stomach is bigger than the bottom half where the baby is...LOL I am not sure if this is because my uterus has pushed everything up, but it looks retarded. Still haven't told many people.. But think I can't hold it in much longer at work. I find myself wearing a jacket all day to cover up, not ready for the world to know.. I knwo this is supposed to be a wonderful occasion. I think once I hot at least 24 weeks I will fee a little better, then the baby has some chance for survival if born... I am just so scared.. excuse the rant... :)

I had my third weekly cervical check today. Everything looked great. Measurements were the same as last week so everyone is feeling a bit relieved about that. They are going to continue to monitor weekly, which means I get to continue to see the babies weekly! YAY!

Tortilla: I am 18ish weeks along (the 'ish' I will explain later) and I feel movement daily. Not just a few movements here and there, anytime I stop moving I feel them moving. This is not my first pregnancy and I'm carrying twins. I started feeling them regularly probably somewhere about 16 weeks, but the last week or so is when they have become very active.
As far as weight gain- I am up only 5 lbs from my "pre-IVF" weight. I was never on a scale at all from the time I started my BCP's until 11 into the pregnancy when I had my first OB visit. I gained weight through the IVF process and then lost that plus quite a bit during those first 11-12 weeks because I was sick and unable to eat very much. Even though I'm only 5 lbs up from the original I have no idea what I'm up from where I started at the beginning of pregnancy if that makes sense   All I know is that I've had a belly since 8 weeks, people that know me noticed it obviously at 10-12 weeks, and at this point there is NO hiding the fact that I'm expecting and at my first OB appointment I was just at pre-IVF weight. I am showing even when I wear loose hooded sweatshirts!!

:!: As far as due dates, I am confused. I had always calculated my due date from the date of egg retrieval. However, my OB's office recieved my info from RE and they have it two days later. I was looking when she typed into my chart last week and it says that the RE's office had date of fertilization as two days after the ER. Is that correct or do you think there is an error. I don't know why I even care. I think it's just because every single week I go to the Dr. on what I consider my "weekly graduation" into the next week of pregnancy and every single week they say "So you're (one week behind) weeks along?" and I say "Almost to the next week." Like I said, I know it sounds stupid, but it matters to me for some reason. Did any of you have a day or two tacked on? Is there a reason for that that I missed?? Does it not count as fertilized until it reaches a certain day? I just assumed that all occured that day.

I have gained about 8 lbs and am 19 weeks along. I started feeling movement last week and feel it more as each day comes. It is the most incredible thing EVER!!!

lw - my given due date based on my IVF cycle was April 7, but I've always measured behind and always knew I was behind based on my initial beta numbers. From my last u/s in mid-October, the due date I saw was April 10. We'll see what my next one brings next week.

LW: Use the pregnancy calculator on the left column on this website under resources. It measures differently depending on different circumstances. Thanks for all the info regarding baby movement...hope I feel her anyday now :)

Dogzrule: That's so neat that you've been feeling movement...I can't wait!

Hey everyone....

I guess I am the piggy of the group. I have gained 12 pounds, and will be 20 weeks Friday... I wouldn;t say I have had any cravings, but I have been eating WELL!!! :) I started feeling flutters at about 13 weeks, and I believe I am now feeling punches/kicks that started about 1.5 weeks ago. It is quite amazing as everyone else says. Yesterday, I actually saw my stomach move where he kicked/punch me... I just started crying..

LW.. my due date has been the same since the first ultrasound I had with the RE. My OB just took my last cycle date and went from there. I am glad to hear your cervix has gone unchanged. That is wonderful. I have cerclage placed, and I am feeling neglected. I don;t even get checked, and I know my cervix can still chamnge with it being placed. So, I will mention something at next appt. Just to stay sane, would like to be monitored at least every other week.

Tortilla.. have far along are you? I am sure you will be feeling movement very soon.. Do you think you may have felt it, but thought it was something else?

Hope everyone is doing well, and the silence has just been you all away enjoying your pregnancy.. Hope to hear from you all soon!!!

Hi all

I have gained about 10lbs since starting the IVF treatment, I was not sick in the first 12 weeks so did not lose any then. I feel the baby regulary now and have been for about 3 - 4 weeks and it is getting stronger.

I am 20 weeks today! We had the anatomy scan this morning and all is well. I have to go back in 2 weeks as they could not get all the measurements. The baby kept putting its hand to its face so they could not measure the lips and it was wriggling too much for some other measurements. So I get to see my baby again in 2 weeks (which is unusual in UK), yeah!

And we found out its a boy. I was not bothered either way but we are really happy.

LW. I used the pregnancy calculator on the left hand column and it was one day behind my measured due date. I don't ever get it changed they just use the one fron the original dating scan.

Hello mommies - I am just loving being pregnant. I managed to find gorgeous gently used items (furniture etc) for the nursery and it is done and all I spent was $260.

I did a 4D ultrasound at 16 weeks and found out its a Girl (she said she is 100% sure) Seeing the 4D was AMAZING, Im in love with out little girl Kendall Grace.

I am feeling great, just tired. I have only gained 3-5 lbs but doctor says I am fine, they just let me start working out so I am getting leaner. I am very tired a lot and get winded easier.

Still no fetal movement but I was told it could take a few more weeks.

I registered at baies r us and Burlington (baby depot) and I still have no idea what stroller/car seat I want... they are all so ugly!

has anyone watched the new show Platinum Babies?

truebeliever - how exciting to feel flutters? How often? And a punch too... you are one lucky mommy and you were right, that intelligender was a waste of money, It's a girl!

Tia - did you watch the movie on facebook, it was amazing. Eric says she has his nose and my cheeks. :-)

dogz - congrats on feeling fetal movement, I am jealous!!!

lw918 - because I did IVF they calculate mine differently, I think it was the transfer date and it has stayed the same
