faith77, I haven't given much thought to the H1N1 virus except for when my sister went on a business trip to Mexico and I kindly asked her not to visit me for a few weeks  . She complied. I'm on modified bed rest and don't leave the house much anyway. DH is a firefighter/EMT and is pretty careful about washing his hands and trying not to bring germs back into our home. You should start feeling kicks any day now! I felt the same as you waiting on those first kicks.

london, how did your appt go? Nothing new to really report here. My cervix is holding steady at 1cm. I have another appt next Wed for my glucose screening and another fFn test.

I'm heading to our local Moms of Twins and Triplets new memeber luncheon today. Have you all checked into groups in your area?? I hear these can be really helpful. This is the first function I'm attending so I can't really report too much on it other than what's listed on their website sounds really cool. I'm looking forward to meeting other women in my situation and those that have been there done that! I'd check into some groups if I were you ladies.

Sorry for crashing...

Any of you experience Braxton Hicks? I'm 21 weeks with twins and have been having many contractions. Cervix is closed but I still feel some anxiety about it.

chriss, ALL THE TIME! They use to concern me, but not anymore. I started timing them and I never had more than 3 in an hour. I seem to have more in the evening. I've mentioned them to my doc and they don't seem concerned about them. Mine started around week 17 and I experience quite a few everyday.

Cynthia,
Thanks for responding. I am trying to learn to live with it. I do have them very often though. More than 4 times an hour, but all checked out ok yesterday with cervix. Still, it's a bit unnerving. These are the things I didn't know about. My main concern was always getting pregnant... now it's keeping pregnant. Congratulations to you. And thanks again.

Hi all!
I had my 20 wk check up this week- both babies are doing great! Each weigh 14 oz- I have already gained 18 lbs! My belly looks like a singleton 7 month pregnant. I will be huge when this is all over:) Oh well- it is all worth it; can't wait to meet my little sweeties!

I have to see my High Risk OB every 2 wks now instead of every 4 b/c baby A (boy) has too much amniotic fluid. Baby B (girl) has just the right amount, so nothing to worry about w/ her. From what my OB says an excess of A-fluid can cause pre term labor, so they want to keep a close eye on me & my cervix. Anyone else familiar with this situation? Any feedback is welcome. I'm not too worried right now, but DH is ~even thought OB did not seemed overly concerned, just conservative in wanting to see me more often.

I have started to feel some movement; mainly from Baby A (boy) b/c baby B (girl)'s placenta is on top adding an extra layer which cushions the movements to where I don't feel them.

Hope everyone is doing well- it seems so by reading the boards,
Chriss and cymplicity27- Glad to hear you are both holding steady.

Anyone decorated the nursery yet? Decided names?

Hello ladies

Faith glad to see you doing find!

AFM went to my ob appointment on Wed babies were fine and both were 12 ounces each.but my cervix was not I was funneling pass the stich.

Long story short they admitted to the hospital and I had to get another stitch placed Here is the story:

Well I had the surgery last night and boy was I scared.. When I got on the operating table I was alredy 3 cm dialated with the membrane bulging out . i was like Whattt! So the doctor was able to push the membrane back in and gave me stitiches the previous stich that I had placed was no good it was not doing anything for me. How that happen I do not know but if I had to guess the lady that put my stich in last time did not pull it tight.

So the surgery went well but for the next couple of days it can be crittical as my docs says because I could get infection or cervix can be irritated and I can go into labor.

I have set goals along with my doc our first goal is to try and get to 28 weeks and we are going to make it there too!

Also last night when the epidural was fading off I think I was having contractions oh my GODDDD!!! it was so bad I just wanted to go to sleep. So finally they gave me some pain medicine and went to sleep.

Hi ladies! Sorry I've been MIA. London so sorry to read about all you've gone through!! But I'm relieved that they were able to fix things and you and the babies are doing fine now. I know it had to have been a terrifying experience...once is enough! I'm praying for you. I know your first goal is 28 wks but at least you're coming up on 24 wks which is the first critical point. It's comforting to know that your babies will have a fighting chance in the next couple weeks and it will just get better from there!

Chriss, I'm having more and more braxton hicks and more often! One day I swear I had like 12 in an hour. My doc said they can flare up and I can have a lot and to call if it goes on more than an hour. Any time I think they are getting out of hand, they (my docs) don't seem to be too concerned so I've learned to live with them and try to drink plenty of water.

faith77, my babies are the opposite. I feel movement from baby B, the girl and very little from baby A. The girl is ALWAYS moving and feels like she's holding gym class in there  . The boy is still only little thumps here and there. I worry about it but I know it's because of the position he's in that I can't feel alot of his movement. I find myself with my hands on my belly all the time poking back at the little girl and as a result I feel like I don't bond as much with the boy.

AFM, cervix is holding steady, babies are growing, both around 3 lbs now and I'm just getting fatter by the day :o). I'm thrilled to be hitting 30 wks tomorrow!!

Had a appt this week at and they just gav me a regular appt since the high risk doc measured and checked cervix last wek and everything was good. The babies were measuting 1pound 6oz and the other was 1pound 2oz. I have been on pins and needles but my ob does not want to keep irritating cervix so i go bact to my high risk doc in another 2 weeks praying the cervix is still long it was measuring 3.3cm last week.

Hey ladies- anyone there? This board is slow.... Anyway, thought I would give an update. Oct 14 my High Risk OB placed me on scheduled rest due to a shortened cervix, the next wk Oct 21st I saw my regular OB and my cervix was still shortening, so I was put on bedrest. Last wk oct 28th my cervix was 50% effaced, more bedrest. This wk I saw my High Risk (Tuesday) and she not only did u/s babies look great- gaining weight- cervix funnelling and she hooked me up to a monitor..... contractions! I had no idea! so from there she checked me into the hospital for the next 3 days- I am on day 2 now. They are giving me 50 mg Indocin every 6 hrs for 72 hrs to control the contractions, so far I am responding and my contractions are lessening. After 72 hrs they will check my cervix, etc... and hopefully feel it is ok to go home on bedrest until it is time. I am 28 wks today and they are hoping we will make it to 32 wks 34 would be much better. Anyone else having contractions and/or effacement that dr is concerned about? Wouldlove updates from all... it will help pass the time.

Hope all is well with all the babies on the board!

Hi faith77. I've been 100% effaced since about 24 weeks and I'm still hanging in there at 34 weeks today :D. I do have a cerclage that's holding my cervix together though. I was pretty much in the same position with goals to reach and I've surpassed them all so far, so there's hope! Now they don't even give me goals. They are just thrilled to see me still pregnant each week. My girl is a little behind in weight so I want to get a few more pounds on her and then we'll feel a lot more comfortable. But they let me know that if I had them any day now, they would both be fine.

I'm so uncomfortable these days I can't wait to deliver these babies!!

Hope everyone else is doing well :)

Hello ladies

Faith77- As you can see in the previous ppost I have been through it but with prayer I am still hanging in there. Since I have had my 2nd stitch evreything has been fine my cervix is still at 3.0 with no funneling. I am on porcardia every 6 hours and I go to my high risk every 3 weeks my next appt is Nov 19 and praying everything is holding up becaus my babyshower is Dec 6. Also Nov 9 I have appt with my OB and I do my sugar test.

My last appt with the High Risk was last week and the babies were measuring 1pd10oz and 2pd5oz so now I have been place on ensure twice a day because my little boy must be taking all the food so hopefully she can catch up by Nov 19.

Faith just make sure you stay on the bedrest and keep hydrated you are at good point now with surival rate so you should be fine but the longer they bake the ess they are in NICU. Please keep me updated.
