Hi all ladies, thanks all of you out there for putting me in your prayer. and cheer me up. I had took this week off because my clinic told me after ER, they suggest at least 1 day off to ensure patient have better recover. Well, since it is hard to be in and out office so many times in a week, so I took the whole week off to help keep suspecious from my co workers. Now I am bored to death. and this board is the only one keep me out from the dark.

Regarding clinic, we are thinking about switching one if this cycle fails. Is any one of you live in North CA?, do you know which one is good. Current RE we went was referred by my OBGYN, they all belong to same medical group. All the RE in my clinic have very high credential, either Yale or Standford, but seems like the sucess rate is lower than other ones. Don't know why.....So if you have any suggestion, please let me know.

Hi LuLu,

Don't worry, I think you are slow responder to meds. Sometimes US may miss one or two since they are hiding one over the other. It is hard to see. I pray for you the rest will catch up later in the stim days

Hi Turtle

Yeh   , finally, you can start now and your hard work pays off. best luck to you

Best wishes

Hey ladies. I was in the Sept/Oct group. I did my first fresh cycle in Sept/October but had to freeze embies after developing mild OHSS. We are scheduled to do the embryo transfer next Tuesday, Nov 10th. We have 5 beautiful blasts in the freezer. I'm so nervous about the thaw process. Our RE says to transfer 2. Given I'll be 39 two days after my transfer, I was thinking of doing 3. I'm just not sure. I just pray they survive the thaw...and then we can move on to agonizing over how many to transfer! Boy, this process is stressful! Can't wait to just be pregnant and deal with those issues! ha!

karenthescorpio - Hi. 5 blasts, that's great and how exciting about your transfer next week. Having not actually got to the stage of ET I couldn't really comment with the benefit of any wisdom but if it were me, I think I would transfer 2. I don't really have any medical basis for saying that, I just think the risks with 3 seem higher to me - just my thought. However, whatever happens, here's to a BFP! Good luck

Well ladies I had my ultrasound and practice transfer yesterday and got a little bad news. RE says I have cervical stenosis so it has to b fixed immediatly. So we r headed to Rochester hills michigan now about 4 hour drive for me to have surgery tomorrow at 830am. It will set us back another $1000 that insurance won't cover plus they informed me that insurance won't cover $1600 worth of ultrasounds and tests so the price of this ivf just went up $2600! Yikes!
My poor dh has to b in pain tomorrow and not take his vicodin so he can drive me home after surgery (he just had carpal tunnel surgery friday) I am feeling anxious about surgery and just the fact that something else had to go wrong. I did discuss the issues I had with the nurses with my RE yesterday he apologized and gave me his cell and home number and said if I ever had any more problems just to call him so that makes me feel better.
As for all the others who r getting not so great news I am so sorry! Let's all remember to keep a positive attitude may help us all achieve better results in the end.
Thinking of u all!

Hi justwannabamom,

Sorry to hear that, but keep up the good spirit. At least your RE found this out that prevent future delays in the process. Understand it is another $2600 in overall cost, but in compare of doing things right at the very first begining, $2600 is not the most important. I wish my clinic told me that another $1800 will increase our fertilization rate to 50% that we might sort out things differently.

Best luck to you and your DH, hope both of you can recover soon

Hi girls -

I've been MIA all day because I had to deal with the finance company's insane amount of copies & notarized documents they wanted for this cycle
At least its done now & I can stop stressing that. So after 4 - yes 4 unreturned voicemails to the nurse I finally got a hold of her and she said to just tell the pharmacy to hold the rest & only send what I need. UGH! To go through all that & get an answer that I could have figured out myself
That was really too much fun! Oh well. I'm glad to see this board is really moving along now! I"m getting eagar now to get going already. Have any of you started w/ estrace instead of BCPs ? I'm a little worried about ending up with another dominant follicle because of it. I was cancelled twice due to a dominant follie & dont want to have another ruined cycle. I was wondering if you all had any experience with estrace? Oh, I'm going to update the list tomorrow, so if anyone needs anything to be changed just let me know!

Chris - Is your ER tomorrow or are you going Sat? I've got my fingers crossed for you!

Cheeky - Follow your heart. I know the exact feeling, i've had it myself down this long ttc road. I've got my fingers crossed for your u/s on Sat my friend - wishing you loads of big fat follies!

J & c - glad you are still with us (even if its in lurker mode!) I'm gonna lurk for your jan cycle! Its right around the corner!

Franny -Hooray for meds! And bigger HOORAY for dropping 50lbs! Whoo Hoo girl - good for you! now hopefully we can think of gaining baby fat! Only the good kind though! kudos to you for giving up pizza
babies are definitely more fun than pizza - although I do love good pizza......

10Bear - I cant believe they never called to to see if you would approve to pay for emergency ICSI What were they thinking? Look at how much stress could have been avoided with just a simple phone call. I'm sorry that happened to you. When is your ET ? I think that you should bring it up to your RE - still crossed for your embie!

Me2009 - Jeez Louise! Your meds are worse than mine! lets see now mine run around 4k each time - so 4 cycles x 4k = they had better be sending us Christmas cards this year! Actually my pharmacy thinks they're cute - in every box of meds they put in a bag of Hershey's Kisses
I guess its suppossed to help with the sting of the price! Either that or they know that hormonal women love chocolate?

Lou -How is the dreaded 2ww going? You're almost there! :D

Lulu -I dont produce a lot of eggs either. Try to remember that its still early - since they just increased your dosage there is still time. Sending you lots of PMA! I'll keep my fingers crossed for your follies!

karen -Good to see you again. How has your clinic been treating you lately? I hope theres been no more drama over there.

Justwannabeamom - Wow how lucky that they caught that first! I know it sucks to have the bill go up again, but anything that will increase your chance for success can only be a good thing, right? feel better!

Supergenius -How are you doing? And were you doing the happy dance today after the yankees won?

2010 - Yay for starting stims! It feels good when you finally get going, doesnt it? Do you have any other dates for the list yet? let me know when you do! Good luck!

hugs & prayers to us all! - xoxo

Hi all, nice to be back and catch up with everyone.

katie99 - Thanks for taking over the tracker. It looks great! And yes, my PMA has been skyrocketing since my Yankees won the WS last night! :D
I started my stims tonight, so it all seems serendipitous. I am surprised how easy it is to give myself these shots...although I don't think I'll be able to do the trigger shot (DH will have that privilege). Gods that needle looks big.

turtle0619 - Sorry to hear about your pharmacy experiences. Like you don't have enough to deal with, right? What part of NH are you in? DH is from Claremont...

lou71 - Congrats on being PUPO! I am hoping to avoid POAS when/if I get there.

10bear - It only takes one, right? Sending baby dust your way for your little embie.

claud662 - Awesome that you get to enjoy yourself at the wedding. I'm attending my cousin's wedding next weekend (the 14th) and hoping I feel not too bloated by then to have fun. Am also flying there - has anyone had any problems with taking needles on the plane? Do you need a doctors note?

sarah_ruth79 - This is my first IVF cycle and I've been giving myself all the shots. It's really not bad at all. The trigger shot I don't know if I can do - I think I'll have DH do it. ;)

LuLu668 - My nurse told me that they look for follie growth of about 2 mm per day, so those sizes seem reasonable for 4 days of stims.

karenthescorpio - Best of luck with your ET!! It's my wedding anniversary, so I'll be sending out extra PMA for you. :) I'm also about the same age as you are and I don't think I'm transferring more than 2 embies (assuming I have that choice!). I guess it depends on the embie quality too. Let us know what you decide.

justwannabamom - Best of luck with your surgery tomorrow! Sucks that you have to drive 4 hours to get it done, but better than going through a whole failed cycle, right? Hope your DH isn't in too much pain w/o the meds.

2010 - I just started Gonal-f (and menapour) tonight - when do they think you'll do the ER? Right now I'm looking at ER around 11/20.

to_have_fun08 - Best of luck with the ER!

Riley baby maybe - I have those "immature and mean" thoughts too. We all totally understand. :) My brother just got married this August and his wife is already preggo. I am happy for him but at the same time I feel like couldn't they have waited a bit? Yes, I am selfish. Luckily he knows we're doing the IVF and is quite sensitive to being overly baby-centric around me.

Everyone else - hope to catch up with you all soon!

AFM - I started 225 u gonal-f and 75 u menapor tonight. I had been giving myself 20 lupron prior only to find out it should have been 10! Well, it worked alright. ;)
I'm dropping down to 5 units lupron tomorrow. My RE also has me taking baby aspirin (low dose) each night. If my follies grow the 2mm/day they are supposed to, ER will be 11/20!

Hi this is my very first post ever. So forgive me if I don't say the right things. I am a mother of three (from first husband). My current husband(second husband) is younger than me but has no children of his own, and even though he calls my kids his, he wants one of his own. I had my tubes tied after my third child, then I got them reversed in '05. After 7 m/c, I ended up losing both my tubes in June 2009. My DH is a wonderful husband, but he's been getting depressed, and even though he doesn't tell me why, I know it's because of how bad he wants a baby. I want to go through IVF once so that we've tried everything. I start my injections on Saturday, and I'll have ER the first week of December.

Well, we had our consult today and RE seems very optimistic & realistic...a great combo for me! RE said we could start my BCPs this cycle and transfer in Dec. Everything was going fine until the finance lady came in. We will need ICSI and the total cost of the procedure is $9150, however the meds are $3000 - $6000! Since AF is due next Saturday and I'm not much of a 'waiter' I have got to go out this weekend and find reasonable financing. I'm stressed, but we just have to make it work for us somehow. As long as the payments aren't exorbitant maybe we can use our first child tax credit income tax to help pay it off! LOL

Sorry this is so short & no personals, I got up at 3 am to go into work and it's 930 pm now...I'm exhausted, but I had to let ya'll know what was going on!

Thinking of you all!!!

hi everyone! i cant sleep..the dog is snoring sooo loud! haha so i thought i'd check in!

10bear did you get a status update on your embie?? like everyone said...it only takes one! i'm crossing everything for you!

lulu i dont get my baby in a box until monday, but i paid for it today and set up the delivery so i'm getting excited. i wish i could post pics on here because the pics i took of my meds from last cycle are just insane. ive only been able to show them to the few people in my life that know what i'm doing...its not like i can post them on facebook or anything haha my friends would think i was a junkie! oh btw...my dad calls me loulou...i have no idea why....its just something he's always called me...so when i see your posts i always smile :D

karen hi dear! welcome to our new ivf family! i'm so glad you are able to do the FET this month! are you still with the same crazy RE?? good luck..i really hope they take care of you better this time! are you going to thaw all 5 blasts at once? i'm not sure how that works. do they just try a few at a time so they dont waste them? keep us updated...i cant wait for tuesday for you when you'll be PUPO!!! :D

justwannabamom holy moly you are going through alot. i dont know what cervical stenosis is but even though surgery is scary i think its a good thing that they found it now and you can have it taken care of before getting further into the IVF cycle. you are in my thoughts. be safe and good luck with the surgery. get some rest on the car ride home and when you feel better let us know how you are doing!

2010 we are ivf injection junkies!! heehehe

katie you better not talk about the yankees around here..there are alot of us new england girls aound haha
i actually was born and raised in NY, and lived there until i was 23, and my whole family still lives there so i dont hate the yankees nearly as much as any other redsox fan i know...including my DH! being from NY you KNOW i love my PIZZA! hahaha but yes...keep chanting..babies are better then pizza....babies are better then pizza!! hahaha i can make it into a song. ::::putting hands up in the air and wavin them like i just dont care::::::

supergenius woooohoooo for starting stims!!!! opps on the lupron, but i'm glad it will be ok...that would scare me...i'm so excited that you have a hopeful ER date!!! yay! :D
i live in manchester, nh. do you and DH ever come back to visit NH? claremont is tiny...if you come back we should have a baby play date in 9 or so months!! how cool would that be?? :D

skylar welcome to the board!! good luck with your injections on saturday! :D

tohavefun i'm so excited for you!!! good luck tomorrow. let us know how it goes!! yay!! :D :D

riley the thought of the cost of everything is very daunting isnt it? if i didnt have insurance that covered IVF i dont think there would be any way dh and i could even afford to try any of this. i'm not sure where you go for financing but i wish you tons of luck! does your clinic offer shared risk options or package deals?

afm i started seeing some brown spotting today when i wipe. i'm still on BCP's until next tuesday, so i'm a little confused. i heard that it is common to spot on BCP does anyone know if that is normal? so i am trying to ignore it, and hope it goes away.

ok now i need sleep...with or without a snoring dog!! :) goodnite everyone!

Hello ladies!

I'm sorry so many of you are having issues with pharmacies and clinics. In the end when you get your BFP, you'll have forgotton all about it.

I wish my pharmacy sent me chocolate!

It is dissapointing when you get so few number of follicles or fertilized eggs, but it can still work out for you. My last cycle, I only had four follies. They actually wanted to convert me to an IUI since I had less than five. I told them I wanted to continue. Of those 4 they retrieved, only 2 fertilized (w/ ICSI). I was then blessed with a baby. BTW, my IVF nurse I had last time told me that even if her husband's sperm could bust through that door and get her pregnant, she would still choose to do ICSI.

I started my lupron yesterday. The night before I dreamt my DH was coming at me with needles, no syringe, just needles, saying are you ready for your shots. He doesn't even give me those shots. I start stimming tomorrow.

I'm sorry, I'm not very good with personals, as I have limited time on the computer. I am wishing you all the best.
