Hi everyone - I am new to this board as well as being a first timer to IVF. I have tried talking to friends about my situation but as you all probably know that just doesn't really help when they can in no way understand what I am going through.

I started Lupron this past Tuesday 11/3 and will probably start stims on 11/13 pending the results of my u/s and blood test that day. My IVF nurse is estimating ER the week of Thanksgiving. We are also doing PGD as we found out a few months ago that I have a 14/21 translocation which has caused three miscarriages in the last year.

The crazy part of all of this is that we have a three year old son that we had with few problems (I did have to be on Clomid) and before knowing I had the translocation. I feel very blessed to have had him relatively easily but it doesn't make our current situation any easier.

Thanks for letting me be a part of the family! :)

bethanynnedsluck, ashelyncsu77, and skylar welcome to the boards!! this is a great place to find answers and get great support! :D

skylar you got the first shot out of the way...it gets so much easier the more you do....you and DH will be pros in no time! its actually scary how used to them you become!

ashley i have my base check on 11/13 too, and hopefully will be starting stims that day too with my ER/ET the week of thanksgiving too!! this board is so helpful for advice and support. i also talk to my family and a few close friends who know that we are doing IVF, and even though they are all VERY supportive and want to know whats going on, they really have no idea how it feels and the rollercoaster of highs and lows this process brings with it. i dont even think our DH's fully understand because they arent even getting pumped with hormones so its very nice to know we are all going though this together! good luck and welcome! :D

tohavefun how did the ER go yesterday?? i hope you are resting up! keep us posted!

justwannabamom i'm so glad you made it home safe, and feeling good after your surgery! i'm glad DH is feeling better too! i hope you are enjoying your beer!!

afm next friday cant come fast enough for me! even monday cant come soon enough when i get my baby in a box, and tuesday when i take my last day of BCP's.....ive never wanted a weekend to go by so fast! haha
i hope everyone else is having a great weekend! :D

Thanks turtle0619 - It's nice to know that there is someone going through the same thing at the exact same time! Please keep us updated and I'll do the same.

To all - after I wrote my first post, I realized that it may have been insentitive of me to write about already having a son when so many of you have been trying a very long time. I KNOW that I am SO very lucky to have my son and I really hope I did not turn anyone off by my comments. I think I just wanted to fully disclose that information so that I did not come off as being in the same exact situation.

This whole journey has just been so overwhelming - as you all know - and I hope that I can be a part of all the "conversations" going forward.

Thanks -
Ashley

Hi Girls -

I hope you all are having a great weekend! gotta love all the fall colors, but after 2 whole days of leaf blowing, i'm done! I just found out that my nurse is leaving and the one who is taking her place seems totally lost! :?
I'm so glad that all my paperwork is done, so now all the new one has to do is b/w for me. jeez, talk about timing, huh? So in cleaning up her files she just sent me a bunch of scrips to go get pre screen b/w done all over again! I guess with as many cycles as i've done with her she never had me re do them. Oh well, off tomorrow to have like 8 vials of blood drawn
At least we are moving along!

Welcome - Amysbabies, Ashley, Bethany, Skylar, Albany & Mally!
I have some of you guys on the list already, & have my notes for the next update. If you know any of your dates yet, let me know!

Chris -I hope that your ER went well & that you're resting up! Let us know how it went when you feel up to it!

Lou -Only 1 more day! Wasnt that the longest 2 weeks of your life?
I cant wait to hear! Good luck!

Cheekyone -How are you doing, girl? I'm excited to hear how its going! not much longer now at all, my friend! - xoxo

Franny -Yippee for tomorrow's baby in a box delivery!

10bear -did your ET go alright?

to those stimming, go grow em!
to those waiting, it wont be too much longer!
to those between ER & ET, wishing you dividing dust!
to all of us, hugs & prayers! -- xoxo

Ashley- I also have a clomid baby. I've had fertility problems back then to but didn't require IVF. It is very hard when people are not supportive and don't even ask :?: like there is nothing wrong. I also get the impression people aren't that supportive especially since I already have a child.I get the feeling that they think we should just be happy for what we have and deal with not being able to have any more children. The desire to have more children is as strong as my feelings were with the first. I want to give my child a sibling and feel I have failed my DH and my child all @the same time. The pressure and stress of infertility we can only understand unfortunately.

As for my FET is on wednesday and can't wait till this is over. I'm getting nervous not excited anymore like my last cycle. Wish my frosties and I luck, hope they stick like glue

I had literally JUST finished writing all the personals when my computer froze and deleted everything

so I will attempt doing this again!!!!!! Sorry I have been MIA this past weekend, I was in Washington DC on a college caravan trip with my High School students and then I had a friends wedding yesterday (and it was SOOO nice to have a drink or two without worrying about the eggs or having friends ask why I wasn't drinking!!!) I am still on BCP and looking forward to Thursday when I begin Lupron!

to-have-fun-I have been thinking about you all weekend and hope that your ER went well and I am looking forward to hearing about your fert report!! Hope you are well rested and know that my thoughts/wishes are with you

Turtle-One more day till Baby in a Box!!! My pharmacy also gives chocolates in the package which is nice, but what will be nicer is that BFP later this cycle!!!

Ashley-I am also stimming around the same time! I begin the 18th and retrieval around the 29th so we will be experiencing the bloating/cramping around the same time!! I speak for myself but i wasn't offended when you spoke of your son! You must think of him as a miracle and I only hope the best for you for this upcoming cycle

Lou-ALMOST DONE WITH 2WW!! I can't wait to hear about your beta numbers tomorrow and I have a good feeling you will start this month off with a Positive!!! Try and get a good night sleep tonight!

Mally-welcome aboard this bus!!! I hope that your 3 frosties make it through the thaw and that they will snuggle right in

Kerribell-How are you feeling with a couple days of stims in you? I know first time around I got bloated RIGHT AWAY because I have a naturally small frame and had to wear baggy clothes because it looked like I was already preggers!!!

skylar-In the beginning of my shots, my DH would make a big deal of it and want to watch me do it so that I didn't have to do it alone, and by day 10 or so it became so second nature that I would do it as he was brushing up!!! It will definitely get easier so don't stress and your DH will become more comfortable as well

justwannabamom-glad to hear your surgery went well...this must be such a roller coaster for you but in the end it will be worth it and just keep your PMA up!

Bethany-welcome!! I am stimming a couple days after you so we will be on the same schedule and we can compare notes!

me2009-your follies look great!! I can't wait to hear how they progress

amy-the small ones will get bigger and catch up so don't stress

jenice-glad you are feeling better and I hope that your 2 embies make it through the thaw....your FET is just around the corner so gl!

AFM I am wondering if I should try and get my DR to do ICSI or assisted hatching even though my DH has no sperm issues? I just want the best chance at this since it has been just an emotional journey.

Hi everyone,

I was on the Sept/Oct thread and thought I wouldn't have time to join the Nov/Dec thread since it's so difficult to find the time to post replies. I read all the time and I guess I just can't stay away. The support here is too important! :)
I had a few canceled cycles from under stimulation and dominant follicles. I tried converting the last cycle with a dominant follicle to an IUI, but it didn't work. I tried again this cycle and asked my RE about Follistim (I had used Gonal F and Menopur previously) and he said it was basically the same as Gonal F, but anything was worth a try since I am such a poor responder and have low ovarian reserve. Well it worked! I am triggering tonight and having my ER on Tuesday! My RE thinks he'll be able to get 4-5 egg which is a lot for me! :)

Turtle (Franny), Katie, Cheeky, Claud, Miyaya my old cycle friends from the Sept/Oct thread- HI!! It's so nice to be cycling with you again.

I can't wait to see all the BFP's start to fill up the board!
Good luck to everyone!

Lou- Good luck tomorrow. It'll be nice to see our first BFP tomorrow. :)

teachermom-THAT IS SO EXCITING!!! I was wondering what happened to you this cycle since I knew you were moving over, and I am so happy to hear that you are having your ER Tuesday and that you responded to Follistim!! GL and keep us updated :P

Hi ladies, just did another U/S & Blood draw today. Very excited with number of follies, 15.5x2, 12x3, 11, 10.5x2, 10x2, and 5<10mm. Nurse said ER might be thursday or friday, I have to go again tomorrow. I think the number of blood draw in my lifetime just doubled during last few weeks. I guess I will be joining the friday thirteen group, with all of us on the same time, it has to be a very lucky day. :)

Lou: good luck tomorrow. Tons of sticky dust!

to-have-fun: How you feeling, can't wait to hear from you with fert report.

Turtle: Wooho, baby in a box tomorrow, take another picture. :)

BTW bloatng and gramping started yesterday, anybody else?
