DO IT!!!

Post by albany07 »

My vote is to do the FET in December. Ultimately it is a decision that you need to make with your husband. I have been in a similar situation during my 1st IVF, but none to freeze.

I believe in every chance you get! Good luck and happiness with any decision you make. Have a great time this weekend - those mini getaways work wonders for your being and your relationship!

My clinic is very methodical it seems b/c they are so large. The RE told me they freeze two embryos per straw. We told them that we agreed with them that 2 was the right transfer number. When they called me to tell me the thaw went ok and to come to the clinic, I did ask them for details but the lady who called said they didn't give her details. I was kind of surprised...b/c if I had known the embryos were graded only at "good"...not great...I would have told them to transfer the last remaining embie. Like I said, we aren't going to pay for a FET for one embie labeled "good" when I can do another fresh cycle. Now I know for next time (if there is needs to be one). It's just frustrating how poorly these clinics communicate! But I'm staying positive...I have two viable blasts inside me...and God willing they are working their way into my uterus as we speak! :D

I had u/s today. No follies on right ovary, 3 less than 10 and 3 micro on the left. I'm hoping the other three catch up, or I'm probably looking at a cancelled cycle.

Sorry, no time for personals right now, but it sounds like you all are progressing nicely. There sure is a lot happening on the board, and a lot to keep up with. I need to check in more often.

Hi ladies,

I've been lurking for the past few weeks - reading all the posts. I havent felt like I've had much to contribute but am hoping we all get BFP's here soon.

I officially start Lupron tonight. After 10 days or so I go on to Menopur and Gonal-F. I'm very nervous and on edge about the weeks ahead - but am glad we have this message board as a place to come and feel "normal". I was so grumpy today before the RE visit and I havent even started any injectables yet. I think its all nerves.

I think there are a few of you who are starting Lupron this week too. It will be nice to have others who go through this at the same time.

Has anyone experienced bloating while on Lupron or is that mostly a side effect of the stims?

Baby dust to all..

Hello everyone.

It seems silly that after going thru the entire (well, almost) IVF process I chose today to finally get brave and look at internet forums and message boards. I guess I have always been scared of hearing the stories of non-success.

Hubby and I have our test in 6 days to see if we are pregnant and I guess... I just felt like talking about it tonight. I don't know about you guys but we have not really told anyone about this. DH thinks I am crazy but I am deeply embarrassed by not being able to have children "regularly" and I dont want to be judged or talked about by my fertile friends and family.

I have been reading the posts by all of you lovely ladies and you all seem so hopeful and positive and I think that is awesome. I have been upbeat about this process for the most part but - as I am sure with you guys - there are some tough days too.

DH and I were TTC for about 2 years before we decided to get our 'junk' looked at to see what the issue was. All of my stuff was perfect but DH has low sperm count ... very low. The drs thought IVF was the best way for us to go and we started the process last month. Now here we are 6 days away from the big test.

Every step of the way - things have been great. I have responded good to all the meds, gave 11 eggs which fertilized to 6 good embryos. We had 2 transferred and 2 were frozen.

Well, so now I wait wait wait! Oh, and do progesterone suppositories 3 times a day (gross) lol!

Thank you for listening... errr... reading! And I am hoping and praying for us all.

HONEY34BUNNY Best of luck for your ET tomorrow!

teachermom Five is great! Keep us posted on how your ET goes.

syanna Thanks for your condolances on my BFN yesterday. I
m sorry about yours as well. Welcome to the board. I'll be doing a FET in late Dec/early Jan. :D

karenthescorpio Thanks for your advice. I did call the clinic and they explained to me that they have very high success thaw rates with their vitrification process. They also told me that their success rates are just as good with frozens as fresh cycles because of this. You're right, it does only take one and I have nothing to lose. I'm going for it. I'm sorry your thaw rate was only 50%, but you did get two to transfer and I've got everything crossed for you.

to_have_fun08 Yes, I am in Illinois. I'm in the northern Chicago 'burbs. How about you? I'm really pulling for you to get a BFP on the 17th.

katie99 & claud662 Thanks for the AF dance. I never thought I'd be wishing for THAT right now, but the sooner I get it, the sooner I'll have my schedule for FET planned out. I need that to look forward to right now.

BRMommy2B First of all, I'm so sorry to hear of your BFN. I'm in the same position as you. I transfered two 3 day 8 cell embies and got a BFN yesterday. I too have ONE frozen blast. I talked to my clinic and the outlook is good for my frostie to survive the thaw to transfer. Since a FET is much easier than a fresh cycle, DH and I have decided to go for it. I am going to give that one little frostie a chance. If I end up BFN again, I will then go for a fresh cycle. I don't think I'll regret my decision. Talk to DH and make the decision that's right for you.

malya324 Welcome! You've been through a lot and my thoughts are with you as you go forward. I hope you get some positive news next Tue.

bethanyneedsluck Ha.. I totally hear you on your insurance rant! I'm in the same boat. It sucked to inject myself with $800/day of meds for over a week and ending up with a BFN. My insurance wouldn't even cover the required bloodwork we needed to get going. But 12 follicles definitely sounds good to me! Grow follies, grow!

Just a quick status note for me & then time for bed:

Had my 7th day of stims u/s +b/w today. Doc saw 17 follies all about the same size!!! There were only 4 two days ago. I am trying not to get over excited. :o :o :o
My gonal-f has been halved again to 75 (menopur still the same at 75). And as my DH pointed out, my estrogen level is now 10x what it was on Saturday.

Will try to catch up with personals soon!
