hello ladies, hope everyone is doing well! I don't know if I overlook the chart but hope I'm not the only one using donor egg in the cycle. I feel very embarrassed that people can use their own eggs but I have none. We had a hard time to admit my fertility problem before moving on to donor egg transfer. If there's another thread for DE transfer that I should go to, please let me know. Otherwise, I'd like to stay in this thread knowing all of you are very supportive.

I went to see my RE today. He told me that my lining reaches 7.6mm and is good enough. I had a blood work today and he told me to increase Estrace 2mg to twice a day. I think my E2 level might be not high enough. About my donor, he told me that his E2 level is doubling and size of follicles is doubling as well. Her E2 level is 360 in cd5 and 129 in cd3. He said that he will keep the high dose on her. We're paying for one single cycle fee and hopefully, it works out!

hello ladies, my RE is 73 miles away from my house, would you suggest to stay in his area night before transfer? What about after transfer? I need feedback from you. Thank you!

Dodo928 - Welcome! Glad to have you here with us. We hope the support you feel in this little world helps in your journey. It sure helps with mine. I think there is a DE area, but no reason you can't take a ride with us, too! We all have similar challenges, feelings, concerns, joys, tantrums, etc. I'm currently in my 2ww (2dp5dt) from a frozen cycle. I had my first IVF egg retrieval last month and could not do the transfer due to issues with OHSS (over stimulated) and pretty much my RE not putting me on the right protocol. Boy, it was a mess...but now I'm floating along in the bliss of being PUPO! Today i have felt a little heaviness in my uterus area...but I could be imagining this, too. It's hard to know what is really happening to those embies. The progesterone shots alone can mimic pregnancy symptoms! UGH. Anywho...welcome aboard and good luck to you! We all know what an emotional journey this is! xo

My goodness ladies – I am away for one day and there’s four new pages on the board! I have no idea if I am going to be able to catch up with you all but here goes...

Teachermom – huge congrats on your 5 fertilised eggs. Wishing you lots of sticky dust for your transfer tomorrow!

Syanna – hello and welcome to this cycle. I am sorry last time didn’t work out for you but I am sure ICSI will make all the difference. Me and my DH didn’t tell anyone we were going through IVF until the night before my ER . Anyway, this has meant that I have done all of my sharing...venting and gaining support from everyone here...so vent away...that’s what we’re here for!

Ashleyncsu77 – Thank you for the good luck wishes...they must have worked! Good luck for your base check tomorrow. Don’t worry about getting no symptoms, some people don’t. Let us know how you get on.

Katie99 – I am definitely taking your advice and ‘resting up’. I really wasn’t expecting to feel so rough after ER - hope this is normal?!

10bear – I agree with Katie99, don’t give up yet...you just never know with this crazy IVF stuff. Good to hear from you though – glad you are checking in now and again. Keep up the PMA.

Mommieof2 – I’m glad you feel you can blab away to us all – I certainly do.

Lulu668 – Thank you for your good luck message – I know how you feel about the watermelon thing and I must admit I was expecting to feel a lot thinner, less bloated and empty than I do 24 hours after ER – my stomach is still really bloated -am just praying it’s not OHSS. My follies definitely kept on going after my trigger and the smaller ones caught up all of a sudden too.

2010 – I too have to take notes – in fact I have resorted to typing my messages in a word doc whilst I flick back to the message board – It has taken me about 2 hours to catch up on 4 pages of messages! Sounds like your follies are making good progress. Mine were slow to progress but I ended up with lots (see below!) Let us know how your next u/s goes...

Julia78 – I bet it’s nice to be back with your DH after your business trip.
Thanks for the good luck wish. Your FET will be here in no time, the weeks are flying by.

Me2009 – lots of luck for your ER on Sunday. Those 9 follies sound great and you’ve still got a few days for those smaller ones to catch up – grow follies grow!

Cheekyone – I feel like we did get our ‘bumper crop’ . Fingers crossed they divide and grow into perfrect little embies.

Karenthesorpio –Am glad to hear your FET went to plan. Am sorry they had to thaw so many of your frosties, but it will all be worth it to get your BFP. I am sure they are clinging on as I type! Remember, one is all you need. Only one week to go till your Pregnancy test – not long! I have everything crossed for you.

Kerribell – That’s 6 possible follies there – am willing them on – let us know how you get on.

Tc4474 – Congrats on starting your Lupron. I took Menopur and certainly felt bloated but only towards the end of my stims – from about day 11 – 14. Amazingly I wasn’t grumpy through any of the drugs but I do think that the nerves and the stress just make you a little ‘on edge’ shall we say...and who wouldn’t be – this is big stuff we are going through. Hope you keep checking in on us all, is good to have you with us.

Justwannabamom – glad to hear you have started your lupron too – sounds like there are a few of you to compare notes!

Honey34bunny – I am just a couple of days behind you with my treatment. Good luck for your ET. I too am supposed to be going to acupuncture before and after - let’s hope it helps!

To_have_fun08 – am praying for your two embies – only a week to go until you know. I just know you are going to be a BFP!

Claud662 – Congrats on starting LUPRON today - it’s good to get started isn’t it – something to focus on.

Bethanyneedsluck – that’s so unfair about your insurance isn’t it? You pay all that money and get nothing back. I hope you manage to sort something out – it sounds like your follies are coming along very nicely to me.

Malya324 – Welcome. Am sorry to hear about your 2 m/cs. You’re in the right place for support though.

Turtle0619 – good luck for your baseline tomorrow...roll on those stims!

Supergenius – 17 follies – that’s great progress. A small victory every day is worth a mini celebration – how else would be all get through this. Keep us posted.

BRMommy2B – Am sorry to hear of your BFN but it’s positive that you have a frostie to use. I agree with albany07 – it’s another chance for a BFP and if it were me I think I’d take it. Good luck with whatever you decide and enjoy your mini break.

Jenice – That’s great news that your FET went well. You’ve done everything you could do now so here’s hoping and I wish you the quickest 2WW ever!

Firefly –hello. Me and my DH are certainly very private about our treatment too – just seems easier that way. I too am taking progesterone (pessaries) twice a day – Ugh, but needs must! Good luck for your BFP – you could end up being the first on the board! I agree, some days are worse than others but I am totally a ‘glass half empty’ person and I firmly believe my recent PMA has been through reading everyone’s stories and getting encouragement from a group of girls I’ve never even met – on another continent to me ! Let us know how you get on.

AFM: Well, I had my ER yesterday – I must say, I really wasn’t expecting to feel so awful afterwards – hence why I didn’t check in with you all yesterday. When I came round from the sedation, I had to stay at the hospital for about 4 hours as I was so faint and on the verge of being sick (sorry to be so graphic). DH drove me home (45 mins), with a short stop half way to be ill (again –sorry!) I felt awful all day and barely slept last night, in pain, feeling nauseous and worrying about whether any of our eggs would fertilise. Anyway...the amazing news was that we got 18 eggs! :) Way more than I was expecting. The other news that we had was that DH’s results were such that we didn’t need ICSI. I was pleased with these result but at the same time worried that we might not get any fertilized eggs. Anyway, we got a call this morning to tell us that 15 had fertilized! We are of course, really pleased I just hope they are good quality ones that will continue to develop and divide. The only slightly worry thing is that I was clearly on the verge of OHSS. My oestrogen level on Monday was 26,000 when apparently it should have been 12 or 13k – I have no idea what this means. Anyway, I have been prescribed cabergoline tablets for 8 days – Lou – do you know what these do? My nausea has subsided but my stomach is really bloated and I’m petrified they may cancel ET if it doesn’t sort itself out...any thoughts anyone?

Sorry that’s such a long message, promise not to leave it so long next time and it won’t take me so long to catch up with you all. I’ve probably added another page on all by myself!

Thinking of you all.

BRmommy2B: I am so sorry to hear of the BFN. If there were words to make you feel better, then believe me, we'd all be saying them to you now. I can understand your situation. Although I'm in my 2ww, we only have one embie that is frozen...and if we get a BFN, we are going to do another fresh cycle...and use the frozen embie during the next transfer in addition to the fresh embies (if it survives the freeze). If this is an option for you, that is one to seriously consider. My thaw rate on my current FET was not great (50%)...even though my RE has told me much higher numbers prior to FET...like 70-90%. I'd recommend a good conversation with your doctor about this. That will appreciate the situation and should be able to give you guidance. Did they say why they think you got a BFN?

Karenthescorpio: Thanks so much for your words. They didn't give me a reason of why they thought it failed. I called back this morning to get a little bit more information, and they said that my frozen embryo is a 3 on a scale of 1-4 with 4 being the highest. I also found out that one of my nurses (there are 3 assigned to me, all wonderful), had her first daughter with a frozen embryo (just 1 to put back), and that she is in the 2WW with her second frozen as well! Glad to know that there are people working in my clinic that know EXACTLY what we're going through (and a great idea if you're a nurse and have fertility issues!). So I think I'm going to go ahead and do it. I'll keep you posted. Best of luck to you as well.

olim78: Thanks for the encouragement. I was a big mess yesterday, but have decided the only way to move forward is to accept that it happened, and that tomorrow is a new day! As for you, your fertilized numbers are AWESOME! Hopefully they will continue to grow and prosper (as you get better) and that you will have many great ones to choose from and a good number to freeze for bambino #2! I'll be thinking about you!

Pumpkin Bread

Post by albany07 »

Well, I know this seems kinda out of the ordinary - but I felt like I had to share. During our morning walk this morning (dh and I) stopped at Starbucks on the way home. I never fall into temptation, but the Pumpkin Bread looked sooooo good! I had to have it. After I ate the whole thing... I decided I needed to find the recipe as well - here it is:

Starbucks Pumpkin Bread
1 ½ cups flour
1 tsp. baking soda
½ Tsp. baking powder
½ tsp salt
4 eggs
1 cup sugar
¼ cup lt. brown sugar
½ tsp. vanilla
¾ cups canned pumpkin
¾ cup oil

350 degree oven. Combine flour, baking soda, baking powder and
salt, set aside. Beat Eggs, sugars, and vanilla in large bowl on
high speed for about 30 seconds. Add Dry ingredients and mix
well. Add pumpkin and oil and mix well. Pour batter into
greased loaf pan. Bake approx 70 min. or until toothpick
inserted come out clean. Cool on wire rack.

Thought this will help with keeping our minds off of things, especially the 2ww ladies! Enjoy!

Hi everyone -

I'm sorry guys, but I need to vent for a moment. For those that remember
I have done all my cycles (2 completed, 2 cancelled, last one starts in dec) with the same clinic & the same nurses (1 who is super efficient & 1 not so much) So they told me I have to re do all pre screening b/w again, so I figure we just passed the year mark, so ok. I go to the lab on Mon the b/w went in as stat (which means ASAP) Today is thur & I just got a nagging phone call as to where my results are. WTF?!?! Oh, sorry I must have forgotten that i was suppossed to hunt down my own labs? Umm sorry, but its YOUR job to hunt down my results! I think they forget that I'm a nurse too, so I'm fully aware of the job description  I know that this nurse ( the not so efficient one) is leaving soon & training her replacement right now, but for the love of! Who would possibly call the patient first, instead of the lab? Like really? as much as I hate the waiting
I'm suddenly so happy that I wont have to deal with this lazy nurse anymore. I guess you all can tell I've never forgiven her for mislabling my b/w in June resulting in RE lowering my dose, then realizing her mistake 2 days later, then i was cancelled for poor response! Please let the new girl have a brain & pay attention to detail. Sorry girls, but they just called & it got me all fired up! Sorry for the rant

honeybunny -Hope that your ET went great today! rest up!

tc4474 -You get bloated from stims, lupron just suppresses you so you dont ovulate through your stims. Unfortunately, lupron is known to cause headaches, forgetfulness & hot flashes. What we go through for that BFP!

supergenius -Wow! thats a fantastic follie count! Sounds like someone may go early!

dodo -Of course you should stay with us! Using a donor will most likely be my next course of action if this try doesnt work, I mean how many out of pocket cycles can you do before you have to move onward?
there is NOTHING to feel funny about, you will give that baby a home inside you, your blood will mix, you provide nutrients & oxygen, then you will deliver that baby! I think that once you are pregnant, where a piece of the recipe came from wont matter at all. It will be yours! BTW, I drive 2 hrs each way to RE (97 miles 1 way) my clinic knows this & has never said to stay over in PA, the only thing they said was after transfer to recline the seat way back for the drive home. Good luck to you! :D

Olim -OMG 15 fert! :D you are a machine! Yes, sore after ER is normal, it depends on how hard it was to get the eggs out. With that many you'll have some snowbabies too! When is your ET?

Cheeky -So much luck to you tomorrow at ER! :D Boy, that went so fast! crossed for your follies!

lulu -arent you going soon too?

Franny -GL to you for baseline tomorrow!

I'll update the list in a little while - hugs & PMA to all of us! - xoxo

katie OMG!! i seriously was half way through reading your post when i almost reached for my phone to call you!! hahaha i was really that upset and care about you that much that i just wanted to reach out and hug you! i am soooo sorry you have to put up with such a person. i cant believe she called you for the labs...like you had them and were just sitting around not telling your clinic. ive never got any of my labs unless i call and ask my clinic about them...why on earth would you have them before the clinic? it makes no sense. i hope the new nurse isnt paying too close attention to the training shes getting from miss lazy pants. you getting fired up got me all fired up!! (taking a deep breath) all you can do is count down the days until shes gone and hope its before she mislable anything else this cycle! did they call you back and let you know they got the labs now?

thanks for thinking of my stick and stir tomorrow! i cant wait, and i really hope they call and say i can start sticking myself with needles! haha wooohoooo!!
