albany07: ICSI can help for sure. In my new RE office, the patients advocate told us that all of their patients have ICSI done and the clinic has high successful rate in ET. In another RE office where they are not as famous, their cycle fee actually include ICSI and you don't have to pay extra. They want to make sure their successful rates beat up the old and famous clinics.

hope all ladies here have BFP!

HI everyone, I am new to the forum and excited to see a Oct/Nov Cycle thread. I started my 1st IVF on 10/26, am now in the 2ww waiting period. Thought I was doing fine stress wise until now. The waiting is excruciating! I experienced cramps on the 2nd and the 3rd day of the transfer, the doctor told me that it is not an indication of either or... A little info of this cycle, 16 eggs retrieved, 15 fertilized, 8 normal, 3 transferred. Sorry not too familiar with the acronyms here. Anyway just want to wish everyone a BFP and thank you for reading!!

happier - welcome to our board! You are in the right please, there are quite a few of us in the 2WW. We must be very close in our timings. I had my baseline bloods and scan on 27/10 which is when I started my stims. I had one 5 day blastocyst transferred yesterday. When is your test?

Thanks!

My blood test for progesterone level is 11/20, and the pregnancy test is on 11/25, the day before Thanksgiving. Talk about pressure, we are going back home for Christmas and I am hoping to surprise the family with the good news... But I haven't shared anything about the process with them yet, so pressure self applied as usual.

May I ask what is the beta? is it the progesterone test or the pregnancy test?

The ER today totally kicked my butt - I had it this morning but had horrid cramping & got sent home w/ only Tylenol. Heat pad is helping - hope this goes away soon. Good news is that they retrieved 18 eggs, so I feel like it was worth the pain. :)

albany07 - woohoo for 7 eggs!! i didn't know there was a risk for cracked eggs - now you have me thinking (my e2 was a bit above 5000). I am impressed you could eat Chinese after the ER; I could barely eat the graham crackers they gave me.

happier - welcome! i haven't told most of my family either. just seemed easier not to have lots of people asking "so how's it going?" or "are you pregnant yet?"

olim78 - wow, 5 made it to blast stage? that's great! sounds like a strong embie snuggling in right now. hope you feel better real soon!

firefly - CONGRATS on your BFP!!! :D :D You had me going as well!

Here's hoping we get some more BFPs, ladies. PMA!

Hi girls -

Aww, thanks you guys! Alright, our first BFP, now we're on a roll around here! I'm hoping for more good news today too. Not good news was paying the pharmacy this morning. So tomorrow i get to wait all day for the Fed Ex guy. Why do they always come at the worst time? like when 2 giant dogs are out in the yard without leashes? Or as soon as you get in the shower? Oh, well it perks me right up to get all those meds & realize that i have another chance. But it had better work this time!

Franny -How you doing? ( I think i hear joey from "friends" when I write that) hope your not a pin cushion yet

Bethany -thanks, but the lazy nurse is gone! now I have 2 really good nurses to stick me. So you have dogs that think they're funny too?
mine think its hilarious to try to knock me down when running for the phone! how are your stims going?

Lou -Vegas baby! its great to have a girl trip - drink up while you still can ....

Dodo -yippeee for donors numbers! it wont be long now!

Julia -You & me both! The waiting is awful! & waiting & waiting

Syanna -You're so funny! even your signature makes me smile!
DH needs to help keep you calm during a cycle, even if he's all stressed too. Yeah, I know trying to stay calm during this aint easy. I do the PIO standing in front of the bathroom mirror, then I sort of twist to whichever side i need. There are videos on Youtube if you need to get an idea on placement or position - search "giving your own injection / IVF"

Claud -Thankfully those nasty lupron headaches tend to subside after starting stims. I know they suck. Good luck with your baseline tomorrow!

Olim -You poor girl! You had a rough go of it! Yay for 4 snowbabies!
Now shake that cold off, so your embies can get comfortable in there!

Albany -7 eggs is great! Its all about quality not quantity. You crazy girl, I cant believe you could eat Chinese food after anesthesia
Now you've got me thinking about Lo Mein... Hmm...Now i want it too

Happier -Welcome! Yes the 2ww feels like the LONGEST wait ever!

hello - just at work waiting for hubby to pick me up. Wonder if he's going to PMS tonight again.

Congrats Firefly!! Oh how i want to rub your tummy now so you can pass the BFP along to me too! I'll just go home and rub my lil buddha's tummy heheheh.

Albany, you got my mouth watering with all that chinese food...

Katie, you are brave cause i definetly cant do that...shoot, i might not have the strength and start inserting the needles all slow and painful. Or might be too agressive and....break the needle in me!! OMG I can feel it right now!

dodo928, i hate being all sappy and emotional. I can't wait for the hardcore mood swings! Cause I will get crazy on his ass and make him go get me food at 3am! (heheh, but i still love my booboo)

Okay, the punk is outside waiting...i will chit chat with you guys later!

Albany07 that chinese food sounded awesome! DH and I never listen to the nurse's instructions after ER either... everytime I think we had a big heavy meal afterwards...this time I wanted Wendy's so badly .. :)

Katie- They think they are comedians I swear, they are on me like white on rice, one in particular feels the need to sleep on my feet in between me and the cabinets and has the tripping problem while going up or down stairs :P I am super happy to hear you got a nurse upgrade, I think it helps to have good nurses!
I do hope the BFP is contagious and we all catch that bug!

Speaking of contagious BFPs and Positive Mental Attitudes, check out these stats for the Sept/Oct Group I just calculated:

30/44 BFPs, 68% success rate!!!
6 sets of twins (20%)
2 triplets (7%)

Seeing as how the national average is well under 50%, I have to think the support we all get on here is a HUGE factor in our eventual success! Let's hope that Nov/Dec beats their average!

Next: Work on improving DH and my fertility while saving up for next round. Why does something that we want so badly have to also be so expensive?
