Lou: I agree about the BCP seeming so counterproductive to what we're trying to achieve! Last month when I was buying my BCP and antibiotics, the pharmacist warned me that the BCP could lower the effectiveness of the birth control. I laughed, and said that was perfectly alright with me!

Next: Work on improving DH and my fertility while saving up for next round. Why does something that we want so badly have to also be so expensive?

Good Evening Girls! Wishing both Supergenius and Kerribell a smooth transfer, sticky embie goo to both of you!

Dodo - That is wonderful news! Good fortune to you on Monday.

2010 - 7 fert. is great! Sing praise!

me2009 - That is a way high progesterone!!!! You must have many corpus luteum secreting that good ole progest. I'm always low  , so dr. has me on 2cc per night this cycle. My last 2 cycles which ended in Chemicals, I had very low progesterone levels. Hopefully 2cc's will do the trick.

2ww girls, hang in there (including me  )... it should go by fast due to the Thanksgiving holiday.

DH and I are laying low, I feel like I'm in hiding. We were invited to 2 parties tonight, but decided to stay away from anyone who has hormones. You know, like when you are spending a ton of time with your girlfriends and you all synchronize in your cycle??? I'll just stick to my friend PIO injection  . Have a great weekend.

I noticed your APS diagnosis (this is just a thought, something to maybe ask your dr. about)- I think with high levels of progesterone, you can have a higher incidence of blood clots. My Dr. looks for progesterone over 20. Make sure that he wants you to be on an increased dose. I just don't want you to get a clot, girlee girl!

hmmm... i will def ask them that.

i am currently taking heparin injections twice daily.

ive only been on the heparin for a week and ive already been in for platelet & coags checks.

ive also been taking baby asa for a few months since all of this started.

unfort, i know with having the APS im at a high risk for clots!!

i have alot of the Iga ones, not the more common ones.. and not alot of studys out there for the Iga antibodies...

but i will def ASK my drs!!

thanks for looking out for me !!

BRMommy2B, Lou: I agree to both of you. One time I picked up my BCP at a pharmacy. The pharmacist was nice enough and talked to me in a soft voice telling me that it wouldn't work effectively because I didn't take it continuously.

Hi Ladies!!! I always feel out of the loop on weekends because it is so hard to sit in front of the computer like I do during the week at work and then I have to catch up Sunday morning!!! Nothing really new at my end...I went in Friday morning and I had about 5 on right under 10mm and 8 on left under 10mm. I go back tomorrow morning and hopefully then they will have some to actually measure!! I think with the higher dosage of lupron this time, my follies will be slower to grow which they wanted...

Franny-I agree and think those 3 they measured at 10 were just the bigger ones and the small ones will begin to catch up!! If they don't seem worried, then I would try and stay calm :P

dodo-congrats on the ET scheduled!!!! fingers crossed

me2009-those progesterone numbers are CRAZY!!! Mine is always low so anything over 10 is considered high for me!!!!

2010-I know that it seems disappointing that only 7 fertilized, but in the scheme of things that is amazing and I am sure you will have a lot make it to the freeze!!

albany-I hear you about not wanting to see anyone. I met up with my best friend from college yesterday to go shopping (we met halfway in between New Jersey and Albany) and of course we tried on clothes and I am all bloated and bruised and just wanted to hide and not buy anything that was relatively tight!!! I ended up telling her over lunch what was going on and felt good about it-although when DH found out he wasn't so happy since he is more secretive than me!

Jenice-YAHHH for positive HPT! I hope the Beta numbers are nice and high for you Wednesday. I have never myself had a positive HPT and am waiting till that day comes

kerribell-good luck Monday!! Can't wait to hear the updates

Supergenius-good luck also!! I will be thinking of you ladies

teachermom-let us know when you decide to POAS...I totally get your ambivalence but I have such a good feeling for you this cycle!! I am pretty sure Estrace does not give the false positive, just the HCG trigger shot!

sarah=ruth-the acupuncture needles aren't like the regular ones they give in your body and head. they look like little tiny band aids with a tiny little needle in the center so it's really easy to apply!! i actually haven't used them since Friday since the Lupron headaches are FINALLY going away (Thank G=d). I haven't had any side effects from stims except for bloating at nighttime. When I went in yesterday for day 4 they didn't have any follies to measure but said I was progressing nicely so I will know more tomorrow!

skylar-the headaches do eventually get better a couple days on the stims-just hang in there!

btw....I am having "many dumb blond moments" with all the meds in me!! Thinking of you all and I'm about to go take my 100 pound yellow lab for a walk in the reservation!!! xoxo

Hi everyone- I did another HPT and it was "+" again.Been having some nausea yesterday and today. My (.)(.)'s are sore had some mild cramping on last sunday and small amount of bleeding I think this am. Can't wait till I do my beta. Might call the office tomorrow to see if I can go in earlier. Wondering about multiples with my DD all these signs came later like the 5th or 6th week. I did have 2 transferred. I'm probably being paranoid. Plus I do have history of ectopics, so will force the issue to get scanned ASAP. I didn't take a HCG shot I did an FET cycle to answer someones :?:

TC474- I also ran high with my estradoil level my lowest was 53 @ baseline. I never supprressed on lupron ever had to use ganarelix and do the antagonist protocol. They even started my IVF cycle E2 @ 70 something. I always ran high. I was also high responder borderline PCOS they said.I was @ risk for OHSS. I thought I read in Europe as long as E2 was under 100 you could start a IVF cycle but in the states they like it under 50 or as close they can get to it. Ganarelix worked great, suppressed me right away. Lupron was like H2O to me did nothing even on the highest dose. Ganarelix is expensive though compared to lupron which is cheap. Good luck to you and keep us updated :D

Jenice - Thanks for responding on the E2 - it makes me feel much better especially with your HPT results! Hopefully I wont need IVF #2 but if so maybe they will use something other than Lupron.

Keep us posted on your beta!

Joining the group

Post by Brooklyngirl »

Hi everyone,

After a failed IVF in October, I am now joining this group for, I hope, a December cycle. I was on pretty high meds (I think) in October, but now I will be on higher ones (450 gonal-f, 150 menopur, 100 mg clomid). My RE said that I responded as I should, but I didn't have enough eggs (7, 3 fertilized, 2 transferred), so he want more.

I am nervous, as my insurance covers only 3 cycles total.

It looks like I will be going for a December 10 Day 2 start, with a retrieval, I imagine, on December 21 or 22 (my 42nd birthday, as a matter of fact -- I am wishing for a ton of eggs for my birthday!!).

Wish me luck! And good luck to everyone else!

TC4474- It was funny this cycle with my FET I did ganarelix cause I never suppressed with lupron. I found out from the nurse they never had used ganarelix for an FET cycle ever before in their clinic. It works basically the same as lupron but still it made me so nervous  @ the time. I remember telling my DH I guess I'm a lab rat now. I transferred one 2-cell and one 4-cell embies with a different protocol they never did before    So I was very  when HPT was +.

I had my transfer today. They put 3 embies back in. The day 3 embie was only two cells and multinucleated and grade B. The 2 day 2 embies were both grade B, one was a 2 cell (multinucleated) and the other was a 6 cell (non-multinucleated). So it looks like my best shot is the 6 cell. My beta is scheduled for 12/4. ( My POAS is scheduled for 12/2  )
