Claud662 I hope everything goes well with your at your ER.
Eol Welcome, this is a great board to be on, if you have any questions these ladies are the right ones to ask.
Happier I am so sorry about your bfn, I hope whatever journey you choose, everything will work out.
Sarah ruth 79 It sounds like we will trigger the same day. I cannot wait until these follies are out of me, it is uncomfortable. I am bloated(more that normal) also a little irritated.

Good afternoon ladies, just popping in to check up on how everyone's been over the weekend!

amysbabies - I'm so sorry about your second beta. It's great that you are so positive and looking forward - I absolutely agree with you that when it happens (when, not if!) it will be at the right time and that there's a plan for you. But for now, (((((hugs))))).

dodo - sorry to hear about the negative HPT, but I agree with katie99 that maybe you started testing too early. Keep the faith until beta on Wednesday!

Lulu - I'm so sorry, I know exactly how it feels, but those HPTs are evil little things sometimes and you never know what might happen at beta. It's not over until it's over.

2010 - hello, a fellow UK girl! Whereabouts are you based? I'm Hertfordshire way. Yes, it's weird not having a baseline. I had one for my first two IVF cycles but they've now stopped doing them - as I said in my initial post, it's supposedly because there are so few problems with most women that it's 'just a wasted trip' for their patients (yeah right!). Thankfully I didn't have a problem at baseline either time so I'm fairly relaxed about it, although it does still worry me a little. I'm lucky enough to get NHS funded IVF and the East of England has just rolled out a program where everyone gets 3 fresh and 3 frozen cycles under the NHS. So I reckon they've actually stopped doing baselines simply because they they now have more patients doing multiple NHS funded cycles. Likewise, they don't do betas any more, they just give you an HPT to use at home after 18 days (18 days, are they kidding???, there's no way I will be able to wait that long to POAS!). Anyway, how are things with you in your 2ww?

olim78 - another UK person! Wow, not sure I've ever been on a thread with more than two of us! Hope you enjoyed the wedding and ball yesterday - did the bride and groom get very wet in all this horrible weather? Did you decide to do an HPT today? I agree with you, not having a beta sucks. My clinic also just says to test at home and if it's positive after 18 days, they'll book you in for a 7 week scan.

tc4474 - here's hoping for a really positive u/s and b/w tomorrow and lots of juicy follies on the u/s monitor. It sounds very like my first cycle in March - a low dose of Gonal-F didn't do much for the first 6 days but then they upped the dose and my body started responding (I think they started me on the low dose because of my age (34) and that I had no identified fertility problems). Hoping for the same to happen for you.

me2009 - hurray for pink lines getting darker and digital tests shouting PREGNANT! Well done for twisting their arms for an early beta - 143 is a brilliant number! Multiples, do you think? When do you go back for another?

Ashley - oh my God, 24 eggs with 18 fertilised! Well done you and DH! Did you get your day 3 report yet today? Poor thing, feeling so sore after ER - have you started feeling any better now? Hope you've managed to avoid any OHSS symptoms.

sarah_ruth - sounds like you're all on track. GL for your u/s tomorrow - if you're feeling very uncomfortable, here's hoping for trigger tomorrow night.

claud662 - GL for your ER today, hope they get lots of great quality eggs.

teachermom - thank you for the welcome! OMG, first beta of 1870! Can't wait to hear about your u/s on Tuesday and how many little ones you've got in there!

Franny - hope you and DH had a fun and busy weekend, hehe!

cheekyone - have you managed to avoid POAS? GL for your beta!

Eol - hi there! As katie99 said, she and I are due to start stims on Thursday, so the three of us are very close in timing. Have you been to see your RE on your cycle day 3 now? What is your stims protocol? I'm going to be on Gonal-F 225ml and katie99 seems to be on an exotic cocktail of stims drugs (but she's just showing off, lol!).

katie99 - GL for your beta on Tuesday, roll on Thursday so we can both get this party started!!

AFM, we've had disgusting weather in the UK this weekend (lots of rain, barely any proper daylight and lots of cold winds) so I've been at home in front of the fire most of yesterday and today cuddling the dogs (which is a nice way to spend time in itself!). I'm still doing my down-regulation drug sniffing and waiting to start stims. The clinic will call by the middle of the week to tell me when, but they've previously said the most likely start date is Thursday. Time seems to be going soooooo slooowly now I'm into the final few days of the more inactive phase!

Have a good week everyone,
Hazel

Claudia - HOLY COW! I thought 24 was a lot - but 25????? That is awesome. Can't wait to hear from you tomorrow when you get your fert report!!!

I'll be curious to see how sore you are tomorrow. I was feeling pretty good the day of my ER but then Friday I could barely walk around. Hopefully yours will be better.

Hazel, Thanks for your response. Katie99 too!

I am on BCP's after cancellation last month. BCP taking through pack- and advised to go to RE CD 3. I'll take my last BCP on Monday- then Tuesday start the placebo. So maybe get to CD three by Friday 12/4? Not sure. Am going to take follistum and menopur- same as last time. Not sure how she plans to stop ovulation. Anyway- am learning terminology. Looking forward to having a couple of cycle buddies.

To the other ladies- this sounds like a great blog

Claud662 - lots of great eggs- congrats!

Katie99, I love the summary list provided --- trying to get used to this board. Will be keeping track of you ladies now- just need to learn the board and how to use.

Back to work tomorrow- sorry UK ladies, but the sun is finally, finally shining in New Jersey- haven't seen it in a while- sending it your way.

Erin.

So I just had my first real freak out throughout this whole thing, and that was having my DH give me the POI shot. I had worked myself up about the needle that I was literally shaking beforehand, and then it hurt and I felt like it took so long compared to stim/Lupron shots. I totally got hysterical afterward and don't ever want to do them again. I iced beforehand but does anyone have other tips/suggestions to making this easier?!?! I seriously can not fathom doing this through the whole first trimester if I get a BFP!!!

My cramping hasn't been too bad today, but I have mostly laid on my couch all day!!! I can't wait to hear the fert report tomorrow:)

claud662- Sorry to hear about your hard time with the shot :( These PIO shots do suck. I had a BFP so I do have to do them for another 2 months. I think the needles get a little better maybe scar tissue forms but it doesn't hurt as much or DH is getting better or I'm getting used to it. I'm BFP so it makes it easier to take. I use a heating pad afterwards to sooth my soar bum  It does go in very sloooooooow. I've had some nights where it was bad but the majority of them I can tolerate.Try to focus on something in the room when DH is doing the injection. I always look @ our digital picture frame of our DD and always seem to see pics of her as a baby. Go buy the cutest baby picture and focus on it when getting stuck. Positive reinforcement, good luck and take it day by day. :D

Busy Board!

Wow girls! I am trying to get through all the messages and trying to keep everything straight! Sorry for being away for so long :( :D

As always, thanks to Katie99 for keeping all this info together in one cohesive and up-to-date fashion!

Claud662 - Oh my!!! That is wonderful news on your ER! Bunches of embie growth dust to you! I agree with Jenice, make sure to distract yourself. I always look at a magazine or computer. In the beginning I would call my Mom. Talking on the phone helps. Also, Standing on the floor, I bend over the bed with my pants down - it seems to be the right height for him to concentrate and aim. I am a major type A personality so I go through all the steps before he does it (I can't believe he puts up with me, how annoying!). I also checked YouTube for other recommendations - One position I saw was laying on your side on the bed, top leg bent to expose the buttock area. I preferred the first. I just told DH tonight - it's not getting any better and I think it's time for a heating pad. I am praying for you for a great fertilization report.

Ashley - Great #, thinking of you and hope that all the testing goes well.

Amysbabies - so fortunate to be able to jump right back on to the wagon! Will they be changing anything this cycle? Are you on enough progesterone? I am praying for you and hoping for a positive result this cycle.

Me2009, Teachermom - Major multiples!!! Hoping for the best news for you!

Dodo - how are you?

Lulu - Which hpt did you use?

Turtle - Will you POAS in 2 weeks? I hope you had a good time over the last couple days!

HJW, 2010, Olim - did not realize all of you girls are from the UK! I am in Chicago and our weather seems very similar! Blah! I want to move to Hawaii! So cool that your NHS provides infertility coverage. Haha, my DH just asked me if he should submit a tranfer for a job that is available with his company in the UK! I just said NO - thanks for the heads up on the weather! LOL :D

TC4474 - 6 is great and I am sending you positive follie growth thoughts!

For all those I did not mention, great big loads of follie growth dust, smooth ER's and blessed ET's!

AFM - I have been a bad, bad, bad girl. It all started with a trip to the Dollar Tree. There they were, a shelf full of lonely HPT's - for only a dollar each! I could not refuse. I grabbed 6 and was on my way to check out. Yup - I started testing on 3dp3dt. Well, on 8dp3dt... I ran out, so I decided it was time for the big guns. I went to CVS and purchased a First Response Early Response 2 pack. Took it as soon as I got home and there was a faint line. I decided not to get excited and I would wait till 10dp3dt to test. I got through most of the day today, until right before dinner. That was when I snuck into the bathroom (without dh noticing) and took the 2nd one. Yes. It was much darker and instantaneous. I let DH know that a ourlastnameeeey was on it's way. He cautioned me not to get tooo excited, but this has never happened with our previous cycles and I could just jump out of my skin right now. Our beta is scheduled for Tuesday at 9am CST. I don't know why I took the last appointment. I think I will call tomorrow to reschedule for the first at 6:30am. I hope it is still available.

Have a great night. Grow follies, Grow embies, Grow babies, Grow!!!

My cramping hasn't been too bad today, but I have mostly laid on my couch all day!!! I can't wait to hear the fert report tomorrow:)
here is my nightly routine.

Ice, personally is not good. think about it this oil is thick and if you heat it up its better.

so i usually sit on a heatting pad (on HIGH, if you can take it) for at least 10-15 mins.

then you MUST relax when they do the shot. It will get better! If you're freaked out, your DH might get freaked out when they give it.

As soon as you're done, DH MUST, MUST, MUST rub/massage intense each and every time you do the PIO injection! If you don't, you will be SORRY! You need to massage the oil in !! If not, you will be extreamly sore in a few days if not sooner!

Ive even done a few time, drawing up the PIO and while im heating my A@@ up ive sat on the syringe to warm up the PIO. The heat makes it less thick. But Just make sure its not too warm! But it does help.

Then lastly, I sit again on the heating pad for 15-20 mins after the massage and PIO injection.

My DH and I do this every night, usually right before bed time. The PIO has been making me sleepy (so i think).

Just get in a routine, it will get better!

that's just my two cents! but it works! heat, not ice is the key and MASSAGE is a MUST!

good luck.

oh.. ps. Im up to 2 cc of PIO, FYI! I might end up going to twice daily shots if my cramping doesnt go away!
