I have everything crossed for your 'good embie' and am pleased that you have been able to start our FET cycle so quickly. I just felt better knowing that I was actively doing something and had started my treatment.Have a fantastic time in Vegas - it'll be great!
To everyone else, stimming, having ERs and ETs - am thinking of you all x

Hi ladies -
Just a quick update since I too am at work.
I got the call from the RE nurse today to tell me how many embies made it to day 5/6 and were able to be biopsied (have a cell removed) and frozen. The grand total is 9. Honestly when I first listened to the message my thought was disappointment. Going from 18 fertilized eggs to 9 in only 5 days seemed like too much. But then I realized that it really is a good number and they are only keeping the best embies. My odds of having "good" embies based on my genetics seem to be about 25%-30% so I'm hoping for two that we can use for FET.
Now my 9 little embie cells are en route to Genesis Genetics in Michigan (from North Carolina) to be tested. My RE nurse told me it might take 2 weeks but I have a call out to the genetics lab to find out really how long it will be. I swear - this is almost as bad as the 2WW, just a different version of the wait.
Also, I had my last injection last night for a while. Have to wait for AF to visit and then start BCP, Lupron, and Estrogen patches in prep for FET.
Hope everyone is having a good day - it's rainy and dreary here.
Hey ladies, just checking in. It's so weird with the time difference to go to bed here in the UK fully caught up on the posts and wake up to 2 more pages, lol! Not that it's still the morning here (it's gone 8pm), I just didn't get the chance to post anything when I logged in this morning.
Albany07 - yay, congratulations on your BFP!
cheekyone - you too, congratulations! You and DH must be over the moon after such a long journey!
turtle/Franny - hope you're having a great time with your parents. I always think that no matter how old you are, a hug from Mum always makes life better!
claud662 - it sounds like you've cracked it with the PIO, you'll be a pro in no time! I'm so pleased for you that the suspected OHSS turned out not to be, and that you're still OK for transfer. GL with your ET today, let us know how many you decided to transfer!
sarah_ruth - GL for trigger tonight and make the most of a drug and injection free day tomorrow! I know what you mean about all the various hurdles, I was like that, but just try and take one step at a time. GL for ER on Friday, it'll be fine.
justwannabamom - 9 follicles is more than enough, it only takes one embryo after all, and quality over quantity! I'm comparatively young as well (34) and only got 6 follies my first cycle.
Skylar - hope ER went smoothly for you, report in when you can!
Lulu and dodo - I'm so sorry, I know how horrible it is to get a BFN. You're both in my thoughts. (((((hugs)))))
kerribell - I'm sorry for your negative HPT, but you still have two more days until beta so try and keep up your PMA. Like claud662, my understanding is that acupunture can help - in fact, I think it can improve not just egg quality but sperm quality as well.
Eol - doing an AF dance for you!
Lou71 - GL for your u/s on Friday. Very jealous of Vegas - enjoy!!
tc4474 - yay, yay, yay, I'm jumping up and down in front of the computer here at your good news! I just knew your higher dose would do the trick. So GL to you as well for trigger and enjoy your day without needles tomorrow!
Ashley - I think 9 strong day 5 embies is an absolutely brilliant number, congratulations! Doing another AF dance for you too.
Katie99 - oh honey, I don't know of anyone who has been treated as badly as you by their clinic's ineptitude, you've had to deal with it all year long! And you thought "new nurse" was going to be an improvement on "lazy nurse"! It's no excuse that she's new to IVF, if she doesn't actually know something she shouldn't just be making it up as she goes along! I'm going to call her "rubbish nurse" from now on... I totally agreed with justwannabamom's advice to insist on speaking directly with your RE. And now that he's put your mind at rest, just don't believe anything that "rubbish nurse" says that you don't like - just hound the clinic until the doctor speaks to you! After everything you've been through with them, it's the least they can do. Anyway, onto a happier note - YAY FOR STIMS STARTING TOMORROW!! I'm so excited to cycle with you, let's get this show on the road!
AFM, I've just done stims injection #2. It's going fine, but I'm still having a bleed, which is worrying me slightly, I expected it to stop after the first lot of stims drugs got into my system (bearing in mind that I started down-regulating on cycle day 2, shouldn't have had another bleed in the first place and was told by the clinic that it was just because there were so few hormones in my body). Has anyone else still being having AF or their withdrawal bleed at the start of stims? If it doesn't stop by tomorrow, I'll call the clinic and check that it's not a problem.
Take care everyone,
Hazel

Hi Ladies. I would love to join your group. I'm new here to this site, but not new to infertility to say the least. 15 yrs ttc and just completed our 3rd IVF. I'm 42 yrs old and have never had any children.
I'm having a really hard time with this IVF's 2ww. It's the hardest one I've ever been through and I've had many 2ww's. Too much riding on having transferred 3 blasts this time. We were amazed I got to transfer blasts from my very own eggs this time. I was in shock when they called and said all of the 12 eggs retrieved were mature and fertilized and then Day 3 they said I still had 10 growing so they wanted to go all the way to a 5 day transfer! I was really nervous. I was always told by my old RE (who I am so glad I changed!) that my eggs were too old and would never reach a 5 day transfer, even though I always responsed very well to treatment. He was just one of those RE's that obviously didn't like dealing with 'older women'.
So with all that said. I would love to stick around and get to know you ladies and hopefully find support to endure these agonzing days ahead. My transfer was on Sunday today I'm 3dp5dt.

Hazel: As for the bleed, I had it on stims last time- but it wasn't AF finishing up- it came back several days after AF stopped. Like 6 days after AF and 4 days into stims. RE was not "happy" about it. Sounds like your AF finishing up- no worries. Thinking of you and sending AF stoppage thoughts! (I'll take your AF!)
LorrieS, welcome! I just joined too! You really have the abbreviations down, I can't get used to them! Am sending you calming relaxing thoughts
Sorry about the two messages- had to hop off in a flash.
Katie99: glad the RE called you, glad things are squared away and all is well. see, I knew you knew more than that nurse- and I didn't even know you were a nurse! Cool.
AFM: waiting for AF.... took first placebo BCP last nite. Hoping timing doesn't screw me for Sat/Sun- RE is not very accessible on weekends. Also, trying to shrink fibroids with accupunture---- lots of variables, ladies- but worth the try. Also, submitted adoption application this week, trying to plan it all- I know they don't like it when you do both IVF and adoption- but no one *but you guys* needs to know.
Hi Ladies! I'm on my blackberry so I wanted to do a quick update and will do personals later!
We transferred 2 perfect 8-cell embies (they actually would allow us to do 3 because they didn't want us to have triplets!)
They already froze 9 embies and they are waiting to see 5 more if they make it to blast stage! We are so happy right now and I took the night off from teaching and am now on self induced couch rest!!!
Can't believe I'm officially PUPO!
Chat with you ladies later

Hi ladies, I've been mostly busy & lurking during my 2WW...did not POAS once!
I wasn't expecting much since this is my first IVF, but apparently beta #1 is 50. So I'm cautiously optimistic, and need to cheer those embies on to grow, grow, grow. We transferred 2 embies (had the option for 3, but I was terrified of getting triplets).
LorrieS, Eol - welcome!
claud662 - sounds like you are an IVF champ and PUPO! when is your beta?
ashleyncsu77 - 9 blasts sounds awesome! fingers crossed for great results in your 2nd 2ww.
Everyone else - I'm thinking of you even if I don't have time to type it out.
By the way, I came across this website that tells you what your beta numbers should look like:
I am on a blackberry as well while dh driving, so will make this quick!
Claudia - that is wonderful, kick back and relax!
Supergen - check out the pregnant after treatment forum, August 2010 babies in the house - I posted a number of websites which are helpful. I have a beta base link that made me feel much better - I think u should take a look! Congats Momma!!!

Katie99 Thank you for the updates, your are a beautiful lady to take time doing it. I am so happy your RE called and straighten everything out.
I hope from now on, you will have smooth sailing. lorries Welcome, you joined a wonderful board. Claud662 I am happy you are in the 2ww. I cannot wait to join you. Albany Are you getting any morning sickness? I hope everything is going great for you. Supergenius You are awesome, I am not sure if I can wait until the full 2ww to poas, but I really give it to you. Sarah Ruth Congrats on your trigger, we will only be a couple of days from each other.
Dodo: I am sorry about your BFN, if you ever need to say anything, we will all be here for you.
AFM: I had my ER today, I am cramping and having some discomfort.
I came home and slept for 3 hours, that was nice. My dh was sitting in a chair beside me at my procedure, I am so glad they let him do that, I was nervous, dh helped. They took out 7 and RE will call me tomorrow and let me know how many grew. I am hoping at least two. Since I am in the last chance club. I wanted to let everyone know I really care for each of you and when you have bad news it hurts me and when you have good news my heart is filled with joy. I hope everyone gets some good blessing soon.[/b]

Hi Supergenius! I was wondering if you went to the Shady Grove Center as I live in MD too and that's where I go? Also, was it a 3 day transfer you did or 5?
My last 2 IVF cycles we did both 3 days and this time I had 3 embryos that made blasts and we tranferred all of them. None to freeze
skylar - Congrats on 7 eggs retreived today! I look forward to your update tomorrow.
