To whoever asked about BCP - I won't start mine until the very end of December begining of January depending on my cycle.
Well ladies I am going today to have my office Hysterscopy to make sure everything looks good in there. If it doesn't then I am probably done. I am really scared, but hoping it goes well.
How is everyone else? Where are you in your preparing. I still haven't done my infectious disease testing. I am thinking they will give me the lab slips today when I am there, but we will see. Tomorrow my DH is going to have his SA with the Halo testing. Has anyone else's DH had Halo testing? I am just curious how it went, how soon you got results, etc.
I am so nervous! Ugh!
Hope everyone is well!!

Lets hope this 2nd round goes better...AF reared her ugly head yeaterday so should be going back on BCP's very soon with injectables soon there after. This time around it is much more exciting I think cause it was all so new last time all I did was fret. No worries this time just will relax and let things happen. Hope all is well for you ladies!
arabsrcool: I'm frustrated with the insurance payment with my RE's office manager as she wouldn't assist in providng a billing statement so I can submit my claim for supplemental health insurance. She said that I've purchased the cycle package which is a great deal and I lose the right to claim for insurance. If I claim for insurance, I would have to pay twice the amount. Just doesn't make any sense.
Hi Ladies! Happy belated birthday lou and J & C :) I hope you all had a lovely Thanksgiving. I have been MIA trying to plan DD 6th birthday and figuring out all the craziness that comes with this egg donor cycle.
So...I feel like I'm on the slow train because there is so much to do before we can actually get to the cycle. I had to schedule a counseling session and the counselor only works from 9-3 on Mondays and Thursdays. That's a little limiting so she has been tough to reach. When I got in touch with her she said the first date to meet was Jan. 4th. Yikes! I was really hoping to get the ball rolling. On the positive side I guess I can kick back and enjoy the holidays.
I haven't been able to confide in many people through this process-I feel like I'm going to get opinions/pity that I don't want so I am staying much more private with this cycle. I'm am so thankful to have you all :)
I was just counting the days and it looks like my estimated transfer will be about January 16, or maybe 17, depending. Of course that depends on how my lining does, the 16th would be a textbook case of everything going as it should, but we all know real life oftens gets in the way. So we will see!
Sashi,
OHHHHH, that would make me so mad at the ofc manager. Insurance junk is hard enough without her being uncooperative. Its not like you are asking her to submit anything, you are going to do it. Just ask for a billing statement for your records (it is your money and records after all) and what you do with it after that is up to you. Acupunture sounds great, I have never done it, but my clinic's main ofc has a Acupunture place right next to it (if I was closer, I would be signed up for that) but its almost a 3 hr drive one way, so I will have to forgo that.
lou71,
vent away, this cycling business wreaks any control we have over our own schedules. I get irritated to, but do what needs done (because that is what we women do). Massage sounds great. I got one about 2 wks ago, and may call and schedule another one.
rayofsunshine,
I totally understand not telling everyone about your cycle. I am much quieter about this, only my closest friends know and my mom. Hope your dd had a great b-day.

moorebaby: Glad to hear the appointment went well and that they haven't given up on your DH's swimmers! Hope all the other appts you have lined up go just as well!
Kim14: I agree with Arabsrcool--making the decision is half the battle. Now you can relax before the cycling fun begins!
BlessedMama: How did the HSG go?
bethanyneedsluck: Love the relaxed attitude--wish I could be more like you. I worry and fret about EVERYTHING!!!
sachi: My clinic also raved about what a great deal the cycle package was. I mean, maybe in their eyes $4000.00 for an FET is a "great deal"?!? Ugh.
lou71: Good luck at your appt tomorrow. My D3 testing is also tomorrow. Fun, fun!
rayofsunshine: When is your DD's birthday? My DS just turned one yesterday---it was a little sad for me (I feel like he's not a little baby anymore!).
Arabsrcool: Sounds like our FETs will be close to each other. I'm tentatively scheduled for FET on 1/15. How many embryos do you think you'll transfer? DH and I are still so conflicted about how many to transfer, so I'm shamelessly asking everyone what THEY are doing to help us decide what WE are doing!
AFM, nothing exciting to report (story of my life!). My D3 diagnostic b/w and u/s is tomorrow--wish me luck!

rlk1 - Thanks for thinking of me. I actually had a Hysterscopy done. It is different than an HSG (Have had two of those) as it is done in the office and the purpose is to see the lining of the Uterus and look for Polyp, fibroids etc. Anyway, it went well. Lots of Uterine cramping, but nothing too horrible. My Uterus looks like it definetely isn't what has been hindering our conception efforts, but who really knows?
Good luck with your CD3 and B/W you are ahead of me. I have the one last IUI next week and then will start BCP probably on Christmas it looks like or a day or two after.
Have you decided how many frosties to transfer?

I am thinking 2 embies for transfer. I would consider 3, if they were of lesser quality. I think my embies were frozen at blast, but not sure. That is one of the questions I am going to ask on 1/5/10. Found out this morning I will be on bcp for 4 weeks straight (active pills, no period) until the week of my appt with RE. For insurance issues, I couldn't have u/s for baseline start of FET until after January 1, so they had to extend my bcp's. I am hoping that I will be able to have my consult, u/s and bloodwork all in the same day. Wishful thinking I am sure, but I can hope it all works out. Going to go next week and get infectious testing done and have annual exam set for 12/31. So everything is moving along.
Blessedmama,
Glad to hear the test went fine and they did not find anything.

BlessedMama: Oops--sorry about that! You'd think I'd be used to all the IVF terminology by now! Anyway, I'm glad the hysterscopy went well! So you have an IUI next week? That's exciting! Maybe you won't need to start those BCPs afterall! Keep us posted!
Arabsrcool: Thanks for sharing your plans for your FET. I think we're settled on transferring one, if it looks awesome after the thaw. If not, we'll transfer two (if they even survive the thaw---but I'm trying to be POSITIVE!!). I just wish I felt more confident with this decision.
Again, not much new here. My b/w and u/s went well today---they tested my E2, LH, FSH, prolactin....and all that good stuff. Nurse called and said the results looked good and that I should start BCPs on Sunday and report to their office on the 30th for my baseline b/w and u/s. Speaking of appts today.....lou71, how did yours go?
rayofsunshine - SOOOOOOOooooooooo glad to see everything is in motion for you. I'm also going to keep this cycle to myself. A few people will have to know, but past about a handfull, that's it. I don't think our FET will occur until mid-February, so I'll be one of the last BFP on this board.

Can i join in?
We just had our first IVF cycle with a BFN in November and already going to try again in January. I was mostly a lurker on this last cycle because i think i felt so overwhelmed.
This time i know what to expect (is that a good thing?!) and it should go a little faster since i dont have to have all that testing beforehand.
Am just waiting now for my next AF to show up to take BCP.
Me: 37, no ovulate
DH: 39, low sperm count
TTC: 18 years (yup, that long)
IVF #1: w/ICSI BFN
IVF #2: (january 2010)
rlk1 - RE suggested that I do a hysterscopy after the failed IVF cycle to have a peace of mind that nothing is wrong with my uterus but I opt for the fluid ultrasound as I didn't want to be put under. I also did a HSG about 10 months ago. Everything looked okay, no issues with lining and no polyps. Some times I wonder when does all these testing for problems will stop!
Regarding insurance billing, I spoke to the office manager and she was willing to provide the itemized statement but without the charges since we purchased the cycle package (yes, $10K is a great deal to them!). Not really sure if insurance company will process the claim without the itemized charges, I guess it's worth a try.
DH and I are very confused if we should take it easy and relax and wait another month to try again. Most likely I will not be in the Jan cycle. Good luck to you all. D
