Hi everyone,

Glad everyone is doing well, and Faith, Ill keep my fingers crossed that those babies stay in there.

I'm doing well. No issues right now. Have my next aptmt at 28wks for my glucose screening.

Quick question, does your doc manually check your cervix at every visit for dilation and effacement? My doc has not been doing that (maybe it's just too early) but I am wondering if she would be able to tell if my cervix is shortening. She said its better not to constantly check because that may cause preterm labor in itself. How are your OB's doing it?

Thanks! Good luck everyone!

medstudent--hey, i rarely get on here but saw that noone answered your questions. my cervix is checked at each u/s i get which is monthly. i'm assuming you get them monthly as well d/t twins? with my first pregnancy (which was a singleton) they didn't start to manually check until 35-36 weeks. not sure when they start with twins but i'm assuming around the same time frame unless something happens...i'm 31 weeks with b/g twins and they have yet to bring up manual checking. they did take me out of work last week d/t exhaustion but everything else is fine.

hope this helps and hope all con't to go well with your pregnancy.

Thanks Mindy. Yes, I do get the u/s pretty regularly. I wont worry about them not manually checking for dilation.

Thanks again! Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy!

Hello ladies

I just was wondering how everyone is doing?

This week I am getting things ready for my babyshower its next Sunday and cannot wait. I hope the twins do not act up lol! My cervix is still short so I am still taking it easy and praying that I can hold out to the end of Dec.

Hi everyone. Just wanted to give you an update to let you know I had my twins last Friday, Nov 27th! I was 37 wks 1 day and it was a scheduled c-section. Chaz Ayden was 6 lbs 6 oz and Joslyn Rayne was 4 lbs 4 oz. Chaz spent a few days in NICU due to his breathing but we are all home together now and the family is doing great! I typed a lot more detail about my delivery experience on the Dec 2009 Mommies board so you can read more there if you'd like.

Hang in there everyone. These Angels are so worth all the aches and pains twin pregnancies bring. Good luck and I'll keep checking in on ya

MedStudentMom2B, thanks for stopping by the other thread to check on me!

Cymplicity 22- Congratulations! I am so happy for you and your family. What a blessing!! I love the picture; they are precious.

London- sounds like you are playing the waiting game to, I know how hard the stay in the hospital can be, stay strong! Like Cymplicity said it is all worth ot, that is what I have to tell myself multiple time a day. i have been on bedrest since mid-Oct. Please keep usposted You and the babies are in my prayers:)

AFM, I was in the hopsital again over the weekend for pre term labor, I am 1 cm dialated, so they gave me steroid injections for the babies lung development and oral meds to slow down contractions. I was realsed last night to come back home and continue bedrest and hopefully make it to 34 wks. I feel pretty good about things, Baby A is measuring 4.9lbs and baby B is measuring 4.3lbs, so we are hoping if I make it 12 more days to reach 34 wks they will each be at least 5lbs.

Hi everyone,

London and Faith, I hope everything turns out ok with your babies. Stay strong. London, did you end up having your baby shower? I think it was supposed to be this past weekend?

AFM, hanging in there. Having my baby shower this Saturday. Really excited! The babies are doing well so far with no problems. Will have another u/s next wed to check everything. Doc says she thinks I can make it to 38wks. We'll see about that, that sounds awfully optimistic.

Good luck everyone and Ill keep my fingers crossed that those babies stay in there!

Hey everyone,
Just wanted to announce that our little angels came early!! The girls made their way into the world Wednesday December 9, 2009!
Elaina Denise weighed 4lbs 2oz and is 16.5 inches long
Cecelia Sydney weighed 3lbs 13.9 and is 17 inches long

They were taken to NICU where Elaina was in serious condition and Cecelia was in critical condition (she was placed on a ventilator)

Three days later they are only on nasal oxygen, opening their eyes, crying and taking breastmilk via a tube!

They are amazing! Thank you everyone for your support and just like I will keep the prayers going for all of you. Please keep the girls in your prayers!

Congratulations acornmom!!! Beautiful names. Cecelia sounds like she's going to be pretty tall :o). So glad they are doing better and hopefully they will be home with you soon!!

Congrats to you too london!! I also hope your twins get to come home soon.

Twins are the most precious little things. I couldn't imagine having one without the other right now. It's extremely hard work but the most rewarding thing I've ever experienced :D . Good luck to all the new mommies and those still in waiting!
