Good morning (or whatever time it is for you) ladies! I wanted to share a crazy story from yesterday. About 2-3 weeks ago I ran into a neighbor that I see every once in a while at the pharmacy when I was picking up my meds.

Yesterday (day of ET), there is a knock on my door, and when I open the door, it's her! She asks if I want to go for a walk, and I told her I wasn't feeling well. She proceeds to tell me that when she went back to the pharmacist, the pharmacist told her that the two of us go to the same doctor (which is strictly an infertilitly specialist)! She said she knows it is an uncomfortable thing to talk about, but since she already knows, she was hoping we could provide support for one another.

First let me say, I know how much we need support as much as the next person, and now that we both know then I have no problem with supporting her. HOWEVER: Where does this pharmacist get off telling people who/what kind of a doctor I go to? I am very annoyed, because we have chosen to keep this private.

What would you all do?
Me: 29
DH: 32, Male Factor
4 Failed IUI
IVF #1 - BFN
FET #1 - BFP!!! DD born Sept 2010
IVF #2 - Chemical
Next: Work on improving DH and my fertility while saving up for next round. Why does something that we want so badly have to also be so expensive?

Quick update from me, apparently 5 of the 6 embryos are progressing OK as at day 2, so they are still aiming for a day 5 transfer on Sunday. We call up again tomorrow afternoon for another update. Fingers crossed!

dodo - I was hoping that my 7th and 8th egg might be late fertilisers too, but no luck I'm afraid. Crossing my fingers that your donor gets approved by your RE tomorrow...

syanna - the simple answer is that there is no 'right' set of symptoms, everyone is different. You can feel everything, something or nothing and still get your BFP. A friend on these boards felt absolutely nothing during the whole of her 2ww after a FET in June and is now 30 weeks pregnant with twins. Try not to worry...

tc4474 - I agree with claud662, the trigger should have cleared your system by now so lines means PREGNANT! Woo hoo!! Can't wait to hear your beta number tomorrow!

Skylar - congratulations, another strong beta number!!! You must be over the moon!

BRMommy2B - sorry your transfer wasn't smooth, but congratulations for being PUPO! Well done little Hope

turtle - so how was acupuncture last night, have you and DH woken up yet, haha???

katie99 - how's thing? Did the pups allow you to get the tree decorated? We've had hail here today and my two have been barking their heads off at the noise it's making on the windows. They're driving me up the wall!

BRMommy2B - I've just seen your latest post. I'm not surprised that you're 'annoyed', I would be absolutely FUMING!! It's not that in reality it's turned into a huge problem for you, because I assume this neighbour is also keeping her situation private and will respect your decision to keep your situation private too, it's the principle that the pharmacy have absolutely no right to disclose ANY SORT of personal information about one patient to another. How on earth do they know that what they disclose isn't going to leave a patient in a terrible position with regard to friends, work colleagues or family finding out something they shouldn't!!! I mean, in this instance it turned out that referring to two patients seeing the same doctor meant infertility, but it could have meant all sorts of other things, and had any sort of ramifications.

So what I would do is (if and when you feel inclined to) support your neighbour in whatever she is going through, but also in the meantime call the pharmacy and tear a strip off. If they do not see that what happened was a big problem, and do not give you a satisfactory explanation (and apology!) then I would report them to whatever regulatory body pharmacies are subject to in the US.

Syanna - I feel fine - generally I'm somewhat tired but that's because this whole process is exhausting and it is also super busy at work for me right now. If I had not POAS I wouldnt even suspect I was +. BUT, I can still be a false positive and am keeping that it mind. SO, dont go waste your $$$ on POAS. It wont give you anything but something to keep you busy for the next few days. Because once you start POAS you probably will have a hard time stopping. Its just not worth it. Spend your $$ on something much better.

My beta is first thing tomorrow morning so I assume I'll hear around noon time. After some of the chemicals others have had, if + I will probably reluctant to get too excited until the 2nd or 3rd beta. It sad it has to be that way but this process can be so exciting but so painful too.

BRMOMMY2B - I think your pharmacist's action may be a violation of U.S. "HIPPA" laws. They can get in very serious trouble for releasing any "PHI" Personal Health Information about you as a client/patient.

The pharmacy should have a privacy policy that matches HIPPA laws. I would probably call the pharmacy manager at the least to complain. You can also issue an anonyomous compliant to the pharmacy if you are concerned about someone getting in serious trouble trouble (ie fired or fined). Although it may have been well intentioned, this cant happen to anyone else!!

I am so sorry you had to go through that.

TC- sounds like you are in for a holiday BFP!

Claud- I think about you all the time. Hang in there!

Hazel- Great embie report! Good luck with ET!

Skylar- Congrats!!

Sorry I don't have time for more personals right now. I was very proud of myself for not POAS this morning, 8dp5dt. I am pretty sure I would get an accurate result at this point but I am also confident that this cycle is a no go so I decided this morning that I would rather find out the bad news tomorrow. I managed to be very upbeat last night, but today feeling sad again. I am going to be at work tomorrow when they call but hopefully I will be able to leave early when I get the bad news. I just hope I can regain some PMA for next cycle.

Hi ladies, I went to meet my new PCP yesterday. I think we're in a good match when I saw her in navy blue nail polish! I was so happy but didn't tell me that I also like navy blue nail polish too. She's very cool when I told her I'm doing DE-IVF and told me that one of her DD was delivered by my OBGYN. She also told me openly which other OBGYNs were good in my HMO group. And offered me blood test every month to check my iron level. Also suggested me to take H1N1 when she knew that I have asthma and ttc. I told her that I'd wait and let her know when I's ready. She also ordered me CBC and others include cholesterol. I'm glad to find a good pcp.

the clinic coordinator just emailed me back that RE approved the donor. But after 1 bfn at his clinic, DH wants to be more careful and would like to talk to him at least over the phone to find out how and why he determined that she's good for me.

Claudia - Oh, honey - i'm so sorry to hear this! I was so hoping for a better outcome. There arent words to make it hurt less. Just know that we are all here for you. ((((((((((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))))))))))))

Kelly -How are you doing? I hope that you are surviving the awful 2ww. Its so worst part of all of this. Sending you lots of PMA! And plenty of sticky thoughts too!

Franny -Oh, my silly friend! Thanks for that funny story! I needed a good laugh! Please tell me that your Pharmacy sent you a "sharps" container to dispose of your used syringes. If they didnt you can buy one at any pharmacy for 5 dollars. The syringes all have serial numbers on them because of years ago when there were all those stories of hospital waste showing up where it wasnt suppossed to be. Its illegal to dump them in the trash - sorry to sound like that - but would hate to see you get in trouble for something so funny! How was your accupuncture naptime?

Hazel -Hooray for 6 "Zorbas" and counting!!I absolutely love it that you'll go to ET on your birthday! What a special day that will be! I'm so excited for you! Yes, we did get the tree up finally, but between the dogs going nuts and trying to trip me, and me being "smartgirl" by forgetting to leave out the cord to plug the lights in - it was a spectacle - now if i could only get the shopping part done. Tomorrow, I suppose you can find me wandering around the stores with a dazed look on my face - since DH never hints at what he wants - ugh!

BRMommy2b -Yiiippeee!!!! PUPO!! Isnt it the worst feeling to be trapped on the table with a ready to burst bladder and your RE right there? I wonder how many times they've had someone lose it on them?
Good luck surviving the dreaded 2ww! Lots of sticky thoughts coming your way!

TC -YAY for a + HPT!! They say a standard trigger is gone in 10 days - congrats!

Skylar -CONGRATULATIONS!!! :D :D :D :D :D :D

Syanna -Its a long wait, I know - but try to not drive yourself crazy too much - just 4 more days - you can do it!

Sarah -I'm still crossed for your beta tomorrow! PMA PMA PMA :D

Dodo -YAY for your donor being approved! Now as soon as your DH feels comfortable - you'll be on your way!

AFM -OK, so heres my piece of crazy for the day - I get a voicemail from my clinic saying that I need to call and schedule my education for my IVM? Huh? What? The last time I saw my RE before being cancelled , he said that he thinks doing IVM would help me since my eggs want to grow at such different rates. Then he said that there was a case study at the RE's conference where 3 women who all presented just like me with "atypical ovarian response" (a nice way of saying my ovaries act psychotic) that all made it to live birth using IVM. Now, lets not forget that the last thing my RE said was " I think this could help you, but I'm not set up for it yet" So, when are they going to call me back? I'm dying of curiosity!!!! This either means my RE is going to great lengths to "fix it" or maybe he needs a guinea pig - I'm not sure yet. Either way, we've tried everything else, right? But I wish they'd call me back already!

hugs & prayers to al of us! - -xoxo

Well, the clinic finally called me back, but I didnt get too much info. She said that my RE decided protocols this morning and feels that trying IVM with me is the best way to go. I'll go for education on the 29th and get my schedule then too. She said that its usually used for PCOS cases, but that since I always get one or two dominant follies and then like last time 4-5 small ones that never get past 10mm that this may "save the small ones"
I've googled ivm and theres not too much on it. It seems like instead of stimming til maturity in your ovaries, ivm means they stim you for 3-5 days til you get follies 10-12mm then do ER and finish maturing them in the lab, by giving them the same FSH & LH that you normally inject. So at least i wont need anymore meds - ha ha - The nurse said that they did 2 ivm from my last cycle, but of course I forgot to ask how they worked out.
I'll remember to ask on the 29th. I just wish that I could decide if this is something to get excited about or is this my RE's last resort for me?
Well, we've tried everything else - I guess this could only help?
Accckkk! I 'm confused :?
