Claudia - Oh hun, I am so so sorry about the outcome of this. My heart aches for you. There are just no words to make this be any less disheartening. I'll pray for God to give you the strength you need at this time. **HUGS**
Sorry haven't been posting. I've been reading though. I'm so sick lately and just exhausted I hardly get on the pc for much time at all. I will say I am nervous about tomorrow. As you notice in my signey they want me to do another BETA tomorrow. I was upset about it because I thought Wednesday's (1441) was my last one and when they called they said the RE wants to do another one on Friday, so it made me very upset thinking there was something wrong with my number. I will KUP.
God Bless.

hjw I hope your babies continue to grow. Are you going to freeze any of them if more than 2 makes it? LorriesS,Sarahruth,Tc4474 It looks like we all are getting our betas done tomorrow. I hope everyone gets what they want, High betas. Claudia Sorry, I am so sorry. I hope everything will work for you and dh.
claudia - i am so so sorry, i know there is nothing that can make you feel better right now. hugs to you & DH, and hope you hop right back on the train. when do you meet with RE on nxt steps?
friday beta girls club - lorri, sarah ruth & tc4474 - GOOD LUCK for tomorrow! will be thinking of you all day!
skylar - yay on 137, congrats to you & DH!! this is so exciting
hazel - i hope you feel much better after the painful ER. grow embies grow!!
dodo - congrats on getting the donor you wanted approved by DH and RE!
brmommy2b - i can't believe your pharmacist would share that type of personal information to anyone. it's just plain wrong. did you call them to complaint?
DH & i also named our 2 embies last cycles. at first we kept referring to emby 1 and emby 2 then felt it was so impersonal we upgraded them to pat & alex, completely random names that could be boy or girl (clearly not as creative as zorba, that's for sure). DH was making up a story of what our embies were up to every night - building their house, putting up a white picket fence, going to the movies, etc. he can be so darn cute.
afm - had my second session of acupuncture today (first was tue). the doc recommended i do it 2 more times before ET then on implantation day. i LOVE it, it's even more relaxing than a massage, and cheaper, and covered by insurance. it's like the best kept secret out there!! we are going to 2 xmas parties this weekend so that will keep my mind busy til ET on mon, hope those little snow babies thaw like rock stars.
have a great friday everyone!

Hello ladies, after RE approved, I thought we could have a break. My DH had tons of questions and couldn't stop thinking of quesitons that we could ask. He even asked the clinic coordinator if she could come up with any questions that he could not think of. I started to get anxious again. I told him if he liked to go back to the donor at the clinic so that he could stop worrying, I'd go back to the one as well. It's making me more nervous. He finally told me 'no! we'll go for the one that we both like!'. I realized that he's trying to comparing our donor not with any other donors that we haven't tried, he was trying to compare with our previous one to make sure that we have the right choice this time. I know that I would have the flashback too but the donor we chose was also as good as we get, young and proven. The only thing is that there's nothing 100% guarantee. We just have to bet on the one that we like, and then close our eyes, make the deal, go for it and wait for the outcome. I can only visualize it as gambling at a casino, even though I don't gamble because I's afraid of losing money. My DH finally stopped analyzing and told me to move on to talk to the egg donor agency tomorrow. I have no doubt tomorrow we'll have another thing to worry.
Syanna: Sorry for the fear! Having no symptom doesn't mean you're pregnant or not pregnant! I had no symptoms and turned out to be BFN. I knew someone who's no symptoms and turned out to be BFP. Everything'll be alright!
BRMommy2b : I will also feel 'annoyed' too from your pharmacy. Like tc4474 said, you might want to call and talk to the manager about it. If the staff talked to your neighbor, it might not be only about one person or one time. They really have crossed their boundaries and said something that they're not supposed to say. Hope there's another pharmacy closeby where the pharmacy staff are less nosy!
sarah_ruth79: Crossing fingers for you!
claud662: Sorry for the news! We're here for you! Tomorrow will always be better! Hope to see you BFP next cycle!
Katie: Sorry for the confusion! Hope IVM can really help you! Crossing fingers for you! Thank you again for the update of the chart!
LorrieS: I think it's a good thing, your clinic are very caring and trying to do everything to avoid you from getting m/c. Everything should be fine!

katie yes i have a sharps container (actually 3 now) it was just the empty pens that were rolling down the street! haha
as for the phone call you got from the RE....well i would be very confused too. but here is what i think...ive read some info on ivm, and its a very new protocol, and there arent too many stats out there for it yet. the one thing i did read was that it was less expensive then IVF mostly because you use less meds for it. that being said, and the fact that doing the antagonist protocol got you PUPO last cycle i would push my RE to try the antagonist again...because 1. it did "work" for you in the past, and 2. since this is your last try on this plan shouldnt you try to more expensive protocol now while its already paid for? (i'm all about getting the most outta my buck!) and 3. if you need to go to the next step after this (which goddamnit you will NOT need) you wont be contracted to this RE, and you can do some research and find a RE that has more experience with IVM, and check out success rates, and try it then so the cost will be less. did that make sense? i dont know if i'm getting out what i'm trying to say. its just a thought, and what i would do after thinking about it for a day. you know i wish you nothing but luck with whatever you decide.
((((((((((((((((((((((((((love)))))))))))))))))))))))))))))
i also think this is an evil way for RE to make you go for more training classes!! haha

Brmommy2B I would definately call and speak to that pharmacist's boss! It is a huge violation for them to tell your neighbor what they did! Don't just let this go! I am a nurse and I am telling you people get fired for that sort of thing where I work. The pharmacist knows better.
AFM nothing new here. Just waiting. Took a preg test to see a neg and and did so now I will start testing on monday. I won't even say I will resist the urge! LOL! Beta will be on wednesday. I don't really even know how I feel about it at this point. Cautiously hopeful I guess. I will let u know when the testing begins!

So, today's update is that 4 of our 6 'Zorba's' are (in the words of the clinic) "doing nicely", whatever that means, and are where they should be on day 3. The other 2 are behind but being watched in case they catch up. We have to call tomorrow (day 4) for another update and, all being well, for a time to arrive on Sunday for our transfer.
I assume tomorrow is also when we'll decide how many to transfer - the doctor put us down for a single embryo protocol if we have one top grade 'all-singing, all-dancing' embryo (or 'all-singing, all-dancing' Zorba, hahaha!) otherwise we are going to fight to transfer two. In the UK, they are trying to avoid too many multiples so if you are under 40 and in good health, they try and persuade you to transfer one. Plus because my IVF is publicly funded, we don't quite have the power to make decisions that we would if we were self-pay - the embryologist makes the final decision. We transferred one Grade I embryo last time on day 3, and got BFN, so our philosophy this time is that we'll agree to transfer one embie IF on day 5 we have one brilliant embryo, but if we don't have top grade embies or if we end up doing a transfer before day 5, we are going to argue with them to be allowed to transfer two. It's really difficult, trying to balance the risk of it not working at all against the risk of multiples. Our view was that for our first IVF, we would take the chance by transferring one embie, but we're less inclined to do that now.
sarah_ruth - well done for resisting those HPT's. Crossing my fingers that you get good news from your beta today.
tc4474 - waiting on tenterhooks to hear that beta number!!
LorrieS - GL for your beta, I'm sure you'll be fine!
Skylar - yes, we'll freeze whatever we don't transfer. At the moment, my focus is on praying that we actually have one or two to transfer, any more will be a huge bonus. Was it your second beta today? If so, GL and can't wait to hear a lovely high number!
syanna - are you still managing to resist??? Do you need another slap on the hand to stop you reaching for those HPT's???
justwannabamom - good for you for deciding to wait until beta, I think testing yesterday was way too early, so don't read anything into the negative.
BRMommy2B - what did you decide to do about the pharmacy in the end?
dodo - so pleased that your RE approved your donor. Full steam ahead now!
julia_78 - I love that you had stories for what Pat & Alex were doing day by day! We're so going to have to do that for this 2ww - my DH has an incredible imagination so he can go crazy and entertain me! Ooh, another acupuncture convert! Roll on Monday so you can be PUPO with me! What are your names going to be this time?
claud662 - oh sweetie, my heart breaks for you. How cruel for it to be taken away from you like that. You and DH are in my thoughts, take time to grieve and then I hope you find the strength soon to move forward again.
katie99 - we're off to the shops shortly to try and do our Christmas shopping, so I'll be the one wandering round with the dazed look soon! We were snowed in this morning and the Landlord dug out the drive (he's such a boy with his toys, he got out his JCB and ploughed away!), but it's just starting to snow heavily again so we'd better get out soon or we'll be snowed in again! The problem around us isn't so much travelling the public roads when it's snowed (although we live down some narrow country lanes which can get quite tricky), it's getting down the Landlord's long single lane drive and then down a slope into our car port. Generally speaking, provided we can get the car up the slope next to the house, we're OK after that, so the first 10 yards are always the trickiest!! p.s. I think turtle makes a LOT of sense that perhaps you should ask your RE not to do IVM for your last try, particularly if RE previously said that he wasn't really set up for it and didn't have the experience. I mean, you don't want to feel that it was a waste of a cycle if he doesn't have the expertise. Let us know what you decide to do!

Hi everyone, thanks for your input about my pharmacist situation. What I've decided to do is to go into the pharmacy and talk to the pharmacist myself. After all of the heartache I've gone through, I certainly don't want to cost someone their job for a mistake (although a bad one). Hopefully this was a one time slip up for her, and I'm going to give her the benefit of the doubt. However, in case this is something she has done before or may do again, I feel that I need to go have a chat with her to explain to her that it is none of her business (in a nice way, of course).
I'm feeling completely normal so far, 2dp5dt!

Next: Work on improving DH and my fertility while saving up for next round. Why does something that we want so badly have to also be so expensive?
Well I think I was right, and that I am not pg, but now I really do have to wait until Monday to know. Basically, when I moved my appointment the nurse told me that I was running the risk of having an inconclusive test because with PGD, there was a cell removed, so the numbers tend to be low anyway. Well, she was right and the beta today was 5.67. So basically there was some implantation but they can't tell. I told her that there is no way this would ever be a successful pregnancy, and she said she can't call it either way right now because if I came in on Monday and it was 20, then she would say its a BFP. But this is just too low! She suggested testing this weekend. If I get BFPs on pregnancy tests then I will know its going up. But I have never heard of anyone's going from this low to a successful pregnacy, but she said with PGD the numbers are low. Whatever, I guess I will know for sure when AF shows up. Thoughts anyone?
sarah i'm sorry this early beta didnt help you feel better, but there is still hope..hold on to it! keep your PMA up. if there wasnt a change then the RE wouldnt have you come back. she didnt say it wasnt a BFP, but she totally didnt say it was BFN so dont you say it either! test this weekend and i am hoping you see your BFP!!

I don't know you all well, because I joined this thread late, but I wanted to post an update regardless.
I have my retrieval on Sunday (two days before my birthday). There are 14 follicles, up from 7 the last time. I am very very happy about that and hope that there will be 14 eggs. Wish me luck!
Good wishes to everyone and my sympathies to those whose cycles are not working out.
BG glad to have you! Sounds like things are going well for you. Please let us know how the retrieval goes on sunday. Good luck! Will you be doing a 2,3, or 5 day transfer? Do u know yet?
