Hi everyone - I have been completely MIA since my first post coming over from the Nov/Dec thread. My work has been insane to the point that I basically pass out every night when I get home. Then I turn around and start back again the next day. The great news is that I work for BofA and many people take the last couple weeks of the year off so this week and next week should be slow. I'm also taking several days off which will be nice.

Just a quick update and then I am hoping to get myself completely caught up on the posts and start personals.

As many of you read before, I did a full IVF cycle through ER which was on Thanksgiving Day. We sent 9 embryos for PGD of which 3 were "good". Well we went to the RE last week for a follow up ultrasound and consultation about our FET. Things looked very good so we are moving ahead. My DH and I had decided that we didn't really want to know the sex of the embryos but didn't tell the RE that in advance. So when we sat down in his office, I looked down at the paper on his desk and there it was right in front of me. XX, XX, and XY. Oh well - so much for keeping something in this process as a surprise. He told us that of the three, based on their grading, he would suggest transferring the two girls. I had to look at my DH and laugh a little. But he seems very cool with the prospect of twin girls. We have a DS so I think that makes it easier to handle.

So I start Lupron tonight after being "drug free" for a couple of weeks. They still think my transfer will be the week of January 18th so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that everything goes smoothly from now until then.

Thanks as always for everyone's support. I couldn't do it without these boards and all of you wonderful ladies.

Hi everyone -

Arrggghh! I cant believe that I'm not done shopping for Christmas yet! I really dropped the ball this year - guess having to be in crowded stores at the last minute is my punishment :? I'm sort of eagar to get past the holiday this year - I cant help it, I'm so curious to see what my ivm schedule will look like (so hurry up 12/29!) Hope all of you are doing well and just busy. hey everyone!

went to my dh's appointment with the infertility urologist. dh has normal levels for all hormones checked. basically the doctor said we have 3 choices:

1.) continue with our 2nd ivf cycle next month as is.
2.) send a semen specimen to a special lab to basically check for any sperm dna abnormalities (some can increase chances of a miscarriage, which is what happend with us on our 1st cycle)
3.) continue with our 2nd ivf cycle, but use regular ejaculate with half of the eggs they retrieve & with the other half of the eggs retrieved expose them to sperm that were aspirated from the testicles (procedure is called tesa)

we asked the doctor for "his opinion" & he said that we won half the battle....we got preggo, just couldn't stay preggo. because there are so many other factors that can affect implantation, he wasn't sure that checking for sperm dna abnormalities or doing tesa would necessarily increase our chances. basically it can't hurt, but it doesn't mean it will help.

he also said that these 2 procedures are usually not covered by insurance. he said he'd have his secretary check & get back to us next week. i called my insurance company after we left just to see what i can find out. they told me i have no max for ivf, but anything sperm related besides routine labwork is not covered. so i'm assuming that will be the answer when the secretary calls.

i guess i can't be upset or disappointed since there are so many other couples who have extremely limited ivf coverage. i'm lucky & blessed with what i do have.

the doctor said he'll also be in contact with my re & speak with him about the case. we have an appointment with my re on january 6th & we should be starting shortly after that...YAY!!! i'm getting so anxious!

i'm laughing as i think of the other part of the appointment. so my dh & i are sitting on 1 side of the room against the wall side by side & the doctor is across from us but close to us. all of a sudde, he says "well let me do a quick exam." dh had to drop his pants with the doctor "examing him" & me just sitting there! the doctor looks me & says "oh you're ok with me examing his ballls, right?" & then laughs. dh said i got beat red...LOL!

Hi Ladies!! Finally got my Christmas shopping done, just have to wrap now. I have finally found a few minutes that I can do some personals.

dodo - Any new news on your donor?

Lou - Where are you? Felling better yet?

babyhopes - How are things with you? Hope you are feeling better! Do we have to wait for AF after stimming? What if she doesn't come?

J & C - I know how horrible it is to see pregnant women. I really try to accept our walk in this life, but sometimes it's hard. My younger sister just had another baby (#2 from daddy #2) and doesn't take care of either of them at all. The poor babies don't have ANY Christmas presents from them. Luckily, the rest of us bought lots of stuff for the boys. On a side note, my sister got a journey diamond necklace for her birthday last month...what a selfish, horrible mother. Sorry, as I said I accept our path & have faith that we will have our own baby, it's just sad to see her and others like her! Ok, now back to PMA, PMA!!

msmac - When I started my BCP I stopped bleeding, spotted, started, etc. I was a mess!!!

rlk1 - Are you ready for your baseline? We only have a week to go!!

Ashley - We started our Lupron together yesterday. Does yours itch right after you inject it? Mine does and then I get a red mark (about the size of a quarter) and then it all goes away in about 30 minutes...strange. :?

katie - Have you seen AF yet?? Also, my ER will be on 01/13. I wish it was 01/03! :P

gi - I love your story! As the crazy dog lady (who treats them like children) I could see myself doing that!

Nov07 - I'm so sorry for your loss...I cna't imagine. There are a lot of women on here who have been through similar and can help you through it.

moorebaby - I love your story about the doc! DH & I probably would have been very inappropriate with our humor in that situation. That's one thing I love about my RE...he has the best sense of humor in such an uncomfortable situation. Also, I am SO jealous of your coverage. We are self pay and it gets very expensive very fast!

AFM, I've had 2 Lupron injections and as stated earlier, they aren't too bad. I've been drinking lots of water to try and avoid the headaches I hear about and so far, so good. The only thing I have noticed (which may be from BCP, Baby ASA, prenatal, Lupron or none of the above) is a decreased appetite and bloating like I would normally experience a week or so before AF. I guess what I'm trying to say is that I'm feeing great and I'm very excited!

My sister, her DH & my two gorgeous nephews are coming to town Thursday and I can't wait to love on my boys (though I could care less if she's there LOL) and they love their Auntie SO much!! This is going to be a great Christmas! Ladies, I hope you all enjoy whichever holiday you celebrate - you have become dear to my heart and I appreciate the encouragement I get here. Merry Christmas!

I am so sorry I haven't been around. It is just that time of year when I have been crazy busy with work and personal stuff. Plus, I am in the TWW from my last IUI and I am trying not to think about it or I will go crazy. So much has happened since the last time I logged in I am not sure I can do personals, but everyone know that I am thinking of you and praying for you each.

Those of you who are already getting started. I am SO Jealous! Good luck fingers crossed for lots of embies and sticky BFP's!!!!

I expect AF on Christmas or the day after. I will let you all know what happens! In the meantime have a wonderful Holiday Season!

Evening ladies,

Nov2007 so sorry of you ectopic pregnancy its tough but let yourself grieve before you move on xxx

katie me ould pal, you can skit me anytime!! I am well used to it sure i do ditzy things the whole time   Its really frosty and icy here but no snow yet praying for some xmas day!!!

Blessedmama Oh the joys of the 2WW we cant wait to get there and cant wait till its over, fingers and goes crossed for a bfp for ye xxx

Karenthescorpio Go AF!!! the only time we want her to show up on time!!

Riley baby maybe some people just dont see how lucky they are but you sound like a great aunt.

Moorebaby omg i would have died!!! such a funny story though one to tell the kids some day!!

J&C do ye wanna wrap my pressies while you are at it??? Still have some gifts to buy i will prob. be running round like a headless chicken on xmas eve!!

AFM the doctor rang this evening with blood results, AMH is normal. They also tested my bloods on rat/mouse embryos and it turns out i have Killler Cells to this is the reason for so many failed attempts and miscarriages i am literally killing my embryos!! On a better note they can try fix it with heparin, aspirin, steroids, i also have to go on an iv drip 1 wk before ec, 2 wks after ec, if i get pg then go on drip at 5 wks and possibly at 7 wks with lots of blood tests inbetween to see if i am rejecting. Its a relief they found something this "one of those things" was gettin old!!! I think i am covering every aspect of ivf at this stage at the age of 30 i am an ould pro!!!

Hi to all i have missed chat later,

gi p.s may change my signature sure i am not perfect after all

Hello Ladies!!! This is such a busy and crazy time for us all. I am honestly looking forward for the holidays to be over so I get on with the New Year and be pregnant!!!

gi- the story about the switch in antibiotics just shows how much stress you have been under (though it is sorta funny). I am SO glad that you have a plan of action against your "killer cells". Just knowing that you are going to get the right treatment for you must be a relief.

Nov2007- I am so sorry for your ectopic. I friend of mine just experienced the same thing (she is an IVF sister) She told me that it was worse than getting an BFN. My thoughts are with you.

Ashlencsu77- Sorry about the RE giving away your and DH's surprise but I do hope you are thinking of 2 girl names!!!!! Wishing you only the best!

Katie99- Yeah to Jan 29th!!!!!!

Moorebaby- The only thing that would of made that story better would of been your DH in stir ups!!!!!! LOL

Rileybabymaybe- I do have to wait for my AF before I start my stims. On the 2nd day of my AF is when I get my baseline u/s and blood work. everyone one in the family is much better. Thanks for asking. I swear sleep can be the best medicine. I have an older sister who did not starting having her kids till she was 30 and now @ 39 parties all the time. She went shopping on black friday and only got her self stuff. Not one thing for her 2 kids and all she complains about is " I have no money" but she found the money to go to Vegas this coming Jan. I mean she doesn't even have health insurance for her kids!!!! We used to be really really close now we are like strangers and it's because I am so upset and sad to say embarrassed that she is my sister because she is such a bad mom. Okay getting depressed so changing the subject..... when I was on lupron last time my biggest side effect was forgetfulness!!!! I swear it was the med. I lost meds and forgot what I was going to do as I was walking to do it ..it was crazy. My friend who underwent IVF felt the same way. So my advice write stuff down!!!

karenthescorpio- see above advice in regards to lupron. I hope you ladies get loopy like I did (though my Dh thought it was a riot)

Blessedmama- OOHHHH I hope your our first BFP. It will be such a great start of the year for us all!!!!!

To all that are on this thread!!! This year of 2010 is OUR YEAR!!!! Wishing you all the happiest of holidays and babies babies babies for us all!!! xoxox

good morning ladies...

I have been lurking on this thread since I recieved the news that I had a chemical pregnancy last Thursday and I have been hesitatant to officially join until I knew that I was going ahead in my FET. I had my b/w and u/s this morning and my scan came back perfect (!) That is the one good thing...my body seems to recover very quickly which I guess is looking at the silver lining!!

When I hear about my b/w later and my beta is at 0 then I will officially be scheduled for my saline ultrasound next week and I have my follow up with my RE on January 7th. In the meantime they are starting me on BCP's tonight so hopefully I will recieve my FET schedule next week!!

I will begin with personals later but I just wanted to say hello and introduce myself and say that it is so nice to have so many of my support team over here and 2010 will be our year

lots of love,
Claudia

Hi Everyone!

Ashley -- Work has been absolutely insane for me too. So I'm right there with ya on that one. Congrats on the prospect of twin girls! Wish you & DH the best of luck.

Katie -- I'm not done shopping yet either!!! And we do Christmas on Christmas Eve. It's going to be one busy evening for me. Good luck to you as well.

Gi -- Yikes! For taking the dogs meds instead of your own. Super funny though! But Killer Cells??? WTH? I'm glad you have a diagnosis so there can be a fix.

Moorebaby -- Wow... what a dilemma! Have you made your decision yet? I hear you on the insurance coverage. We have no coverage for IVF & have spent over $30K so far. Ugh!

Rileybaby -- I for one haven't had any extra headaches on Lupron. I am prone to migraines anyway.... but have only had one in the last 6 months. Bloating however... I've definitely had that. But I'm glad you're feeling great and excited to move forward. It's all part of the process. Best of luck to you.

Karen-- Yay! For AF!!! Let's get this show on the road!

AFM -- I had an u/s and b/w on Mon 12/21. The u/s showed a 17 mm cyst so I was sure I was going to be cancelled. RE said that it was possible that the cyst wasn't producing hormone and we'd have to wait for the PG to come back. The good news was my lining was already at 14 mm! I waited ALLLL day and got the call at 4PM that my PG and LH were both < 1.0! So I'm not cancelled yet. RE must still not be convinced b/c he ordered an EXTRA u/s and b/w for Mon 12/28. So for now, I'm still scheduled for FET 1/6/10. We shall see!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to everyone!

Hi everyone -

Whew! The shopping is finally done! I finished last night at last! Lets just not discuss how crowded the stores, and the parking lots were! So, I park and just start walking away toward the store and this shopping cart comes rolling toward the car next to me (it was really windy) so i grab it with 1 hand while trying to hold on to my cart and this lady driving stops to laugh at me - you know you're in a mood when the first thing I think is
"You wouldnt find it funny if it was your car ready to get hammered by a cart" boy, who are these people that leave the carts loose to mess up someone's car? Any way that was my good deed for the day ( since the rest of the day had a lot of foul words going on in my head  )
and no sign of AF yet :?

J&C -Yes, it is nice to be finished and relax for a bit - I think the handbells sound angelic! :D

Moorebaby -Hooray for getting closer! Was that exam more uncomfortable for you or DH?

Riley -oopps! thanks for letting me know, I'll get it right - See I'm trying to hurry you up ! You are lucky to not be getting those lupron headaches - they're the worst! I'm just happy to not be on luppron this time either. Thats terrible about your sister - At least they have a fab Auntie!

Karen -Yay for getting started! I wish you (all of us too!) the best of luck this time. Did you switch clinics? Or is this the same one?

Blessed mama -my fingers are crossed for your 2ww - you never know... it is the season for miracles!

Gi -Oh, gi - I'm so happy to hear that they've found a problem that has a fairly simple solution. Now you are in good hands! Doesnt that make you want to take the results to your old clinic? Like -"see, its right here!" I'm sorry that they overlooked immune testing. I think now you're in business! So happy for you!

Baby hopes -Yippeee for getting started soon! Sorry to hear about your sister too - I dont understand how some women act like that!

Claudia -Hi, hon! I'm so glad to see you jumping right back in!
We will all have better luck in the New Year!

Lou -I'm right there with you on being self pay! I'm afraid to add up what we spent this year! This will be try #6! EEEKK!!! Wow I just scared myself! Lou - 14mm lining is wonderful! I've heard its harder to build up lining for a FET - Good job!

I'm going to update the list later or tomorrow
Its so great to see this thread moving right along!
Lots of BFPs coming in the New Year!
Merry Christmas to everyone!
