Thank you Gi and Katie. I too have heard that it's more difficult to build the lining for a FET because you don't have all the estrogen from the ovaries stimming. In fact, with my fresh cycle, I had a lining of 12 mm after 8 days of stimming. So I am very surprised with a lining of 14 mm two weeks prior to my transfer. I'm taking oral estrace 2mg three times daily. My insurance covers that at $4 whereas the patches cost me $200 per month.

Just want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas! Best wishes to all and I hope for many BFP's in the coming year. Would I be greedy to ask for 100% for this board?

New to IVF - Scheduled in January..

Post by DandMe »

Hi girls....
Writing this is sort of surreal. We went through three early miscarriages, then several IUI's (some botched by doctor), and now, moving onto our first IVF cycle in January.

I've learned all the lingo associated with infertility, low progesterone, IUI's, injectable meds, miscarriage, and now.... here we go again... new terms, new rules, new concerns, new everything...

I just had my cd3 testing done (should know results today) and will be heading to Vancouver, BC for my initial consult, check of the uterus and some more bloodwork. We are aiming for ET sometime in later January...

Hi everyone!

moorebaby: Oh my gosh, I giggled so much at your story. I turn beat red if people say "sperm" in front me, let alone if they were to examine my DH in front of me!! Looking forward to hearing how you proceed once you have your appt on the 6th!

Riley baby maybe: Yes, I can't believe we're almost headed to our baseline appts! I'm glad that the Lupron injections are treating you well!

karenthescorpio: YAY for AF arriving! Isn't is funny how sometimes we anxiously await for it's arrival and at other times we beg and plead for it to NOT show up!

BlessedMama: Been thinking of you. I hope you got good news about your recent IUI!

gi: ARGH. How annoying that they only NOW figured out that you have PCOS (me too, BTW!). I suppose better late than never! I'm glad that they have a new protocol for your next attempt---the one where you'll get that BFP and happy ending!

lou71: How I hate the uncertainties of this process! I'm glad to hear that you're still a go--let us know what they say on Monday!

katie99: Hope AF comes soon! The waiting is SOOOO annoying!!

DandMe: So sorry to hear about your miscarriages. I hope this thread can be some comfort to you while you embark on the IVF journey. When is your initial consult?

AFM, my family leaves Tuesday (I'll be so depressed---we have no family in town and it gets so lonely after visitors leave) and then my baseline is on Wednesday (if AF shows up on Tuesday). They told me that instead of patches or oral E2, I'll have to do IM injections of E2 for my FET. What the WHAT?!? I'm feeling sorry for myself already!

Hi everyone -

I hope that you all had a wonderful holiday! Well, my AF finally arrived - not the best way to start Christmas morning, but at least its here. Now if Tues would only hurry up and get here already - I'm so curious about this IVM schedule - so far all I know is that stimming should be a breeze since it will just be for a few days this time.

rlk1 -I'll stay fingers crossed for your AF soon! Theres a more consistant absorbtion rate with an IM injection - so as least you shouldnt have to worry about your lining - thats good news xoxo

Moore- I love that dr! If I remember correctly, the uroligist is the same one that dh and I use. He is a funny, and very talented man. I also was present for one of dh's many "ball exams." Dh also told me about the conversation that happened during his TESE procedure. He said Dr H was full of ball jokes. I guess right before th procedure Dr H asked dh how he was doing, and dh said ok, and asked dr h how he was, and dr h replied, pretty good, 2 balls no strikes, or something like that. I guess he likes to lighten the mood. On a side note, we were also told that insurance usually does not cover the procedures, but our insurance covered it. There was a $500 or $800 lab fee at my clinic for processing the sperm, but everything at dr h's was covered minus copay. Good luck, let me know how it goes.

HI Ladies! Well AF officially showed for me today, so I will be having my CD3 BW on Tuesday as well as my infectious diseases testing. And also starting BCP. The fun begins. I am really nervous!

Hi ladies! I recently came across this thread while I was searching for support groups. DH and I are starting our first IFV cycle in January! Im so excited but so nervous! I'm not really sure what to expect. We did 3 IUI cycles with negative results. I am 28 and DH is 33. I'm not sure what all the terms are that you ladies write but I have been reading through this forum and am overwhelmed by the support you give each other! I'm so glad I found this site!

Hi ladies,

Sorry to have been MIA, but with the holidays and the "lack of insurance coverage issue" its been stressfull. Add me to the list of self-pay people that are going to cycle in January. DH and I decided to get the $ together for one FET cycle and pray it works (not sure where anymore money would come from to try again). so lets hope it works! My toast for New Year is going to be BFP's all around!! :D

D&M,

welcome. Feel free to ask about any terms you do not understand.

BlessedMama,

sorry to hear about AF showing up. I had hope your IUI would result in a big BFP and you wouldn't have to do IVF.

Hello Ladies!! I just have a quick question...I started Lupron on 12/21, took my last BCP on Friday 12/25 and my schedule says I should get AF today. I don't really have any cramping that would make me think I'm going to start though. During any of your cycles, when did you get AF? Is it normal that I may be a little late?

Sorry for not doing personals, I will do them as soon as I get some time to sit down & catch up! :D

I'm in the same boat but older than you by ten years! We are starting our first cycle in January as well and are terrified! We've gone through two years of miscarriages and infertility so we are kind of 'old' ttc'ers but 'new' ivf'ers! lol

Welcome to the site - I am new as well... so far the ladies here are amazing.
