julia_78 - yippee, you're PREGNANT! I'm so happy for you!!!
I agree with what the others have said, from everything I've heard it's not so much what number you start with but how it progresses from there. Fingers crossed for your next beta - will that be Monday or before then?
katie99 - how did it go today? Are you now our resident expert on IVM???
tc4474 - I really do hope you're right, and I'm next for that lovely BFP. *crosses fingers and makes a wish*
I'm off to bed ladies, it's 11.15pm and we've just got back from dinner out with friends. Catch you all tomorrow...

OMG this was the longest day ever! Thanks to 50+mph winds my 4 hr trip to RE turned into a 5hr trip - I'm wiped out from holding the steering wheel so tight. I could feel the car being pushed all over the road. Too much fun!
OK so as far as the IVM - it seems like I'm going to luck out! They will stim me for just 5 days on half of my usual dose (YAY only 300 units this time) Then do the ER while they're still immature and hopefully they are all around the same sizes 10-12mm then unfortunately I get to wait 3/4 days til they're mature & fert, then ET like normal. So I guess that the downside is a few days of not knowing if they're maturing or not
The nurse said that they probably wont be giving me updates at that time
I told her that I understand they dont like to disturb the embies any more than they have to but I'm sure those will be anxious days for me!
IVM seems a lot more planned out than IVF though, they have me scheduled for baseline on 1/19 stims on 1/21 ER on 1/28 &ET on 1/31
I'm not used to that. Plus I think my ET will be on Superbowl Sunday?
Arrrgghhh!!!! I hope not - if that the case I dont know how DH will take care of me while being glued to the game!
Julia -HOORAY!!!!!
Congrats! I've heard that FETs can tend to be "late implanters" so dont stress your beta! 42 is a fine number!
Lorrie- Thats really interesting about the pesticides, what did your RE have to say about it?
Hazel -From your lips to God's ears! I dont think I can take another "year of cycles" again! It has pretty much consumed my entire life! Oh, Hazel I Soooooo want this to be your BFP! I know that the last few dys are the absolut longest - but you are so close now! Are you getting excited yet? I have everything crossed so hard for you that I'm getting cramps! Julie78 Congrats on your beta, It's funny how we get what we want and we still question them. I was the same way. Not with the beta number but with having no pregnancy symptoms (Dumb me.) So it's normal to question a lot of things. It took a long time to get pregnant and we want to make sure everything is doing well. HJW Well, it looks like you are the last beta we are waiting for. It will be great to be the last one with a big fat beta. May your wishes come true. Katie99 Thank you, thank you for the updates, you are truly amazing.
I will check up on you at next forum. 2010 will be your time.[/b]
thanks everyone! it's just like me to bring my own self down on the day i get the news i had been dreaming to hear for ever. it's like after all the ups & downs i just can't accept that something could go right, at last. i finally came back to my senses - I AM PREGNANT! what in the world am i doing worrying myself. so from now on - no more worries, PMA & i'll enjoy being pregnant (still can't get used to saying it!).
my nxt beta will be nxt monday, and i decided not to ask to go back earlier, just to trust my RE (if he was worried he would probably get me back in earlier, right?). so now i'll just enjoy the holidays and knowing that i am pregnant.
little story - when my husband got his sperm count results earlier this year, he said "fine, well we'll just do IVF then, and be pregnant with twins by the end of the year". and guess what, we're dec 29th and we're pregnant. he is so the opposite of me, he always makes lemonade, that's why i love him so much.
katie - i can't believe you have to drive 4 hour to your RE. i hope today was the end of bad weather until you finish your cycle so you don't have to stress over the drive to all the u/s apts. the IVM protocol sounds short & sweet and perfect for you, harvest right before any follie can try to steal the show & become dominant. so glad your RE thought of you and DH was ok to try again, this will be YOUR time!
hazel - sweetie, zorba will be the next BFP on this board! i just know it. fingers & toes crossed for you & DH.
brmommy2b - september board, here i come!
have a good evening everyone!

IVF #1 Sep 09 BFN

IVF #2 Jun 09 BFP! beta 9dp5dt 176!! Twins due Mar 17
julia_78 - yes, just enjoy being PREGNANT!!! Has the news sunk in yet?? As you say, if your RE was worried about your beta he would have you come back earlier than Monday, so just enjoy your BFP and try not to worry! Are you telling family or waiting for a while?
Skylar - thank you, I'm obviously hoping to finish off the thread with a final BFP too! It won't be a beta for me, unfortunately, as my clinic doesn't do them anymore. Instead, they have given me a HPT and told me to test at 18dpo, which is Saturday.
katie99 - poor you, your journey yesterday sounded horrendous! At least with IVM, I'm guessing that means fewer appointments with your RE as well and so not as many 4hr round trips? The IVM protocol sounds really interesting, particularly how decisive they are about all the dates, but then I guess they don't have to wait and see how the follies develop and mature in the ovaries, because they are taking them out early anyway. I agree, those days of maturing the eggs where you don't get much of a daily update are going to drive you crazy, you'll have to plan ahead and book your diary full of things to do and people to see in order to take your mind off it! Fancy a trip to the UK for a few days???? There's one thing I don't understand about your dates work - they are projecting ER on 28th Jan and ET on 31st Jan, and in between those dates they will mature and fertilise the eggs. How much time do they spend maturing them, and how long after fertilisation do they wait until transfer? I'd always thought that follies grow 1-2mm per day so it would take another 5 or so days to get from a 10mm follicle to an 18mm+ follicle ready for ER. So do the eggs mature faster out of the body than they do if they stay in the ovaries? If it takes a few days for the maturation process, then do they transfer the eggs pretty much as soon as they fertilise? How many can you transfer? Sorry...20 questions! p.s. Don't worry about not being able to take another year of cycles - you won't need to, this IVM is going to work for you, I can feel it!!
AFM, I'm still trying to keep patient until our home test on Saturday, but it's getting harder and harder the closer it gets! I had a bit of cramping again last night, and I don't think I've had any AF early warning signs yet, so I'm trying to take both of those as good signs and keep up my PMA for Zorba! Today is 10dp5dt. I can't believe that I'm the only one left to get their results out of the 30+ people on this thread!!

Hazel: Good for you for being so patient. I did my first POAS at 8dp5dt, and it was positive, and my beta was 10dp5dt. So by this Saturday, you should definitely get an accurate reading. Pray pray praying that it's a BFP!
AFM: My whole office is sick! I've been spraying Lysol to try to kill germs, but because they don't know I'm pregnant they aren't being extra careful around me. Yikes! If DH knew, he'd freak!

hello ladies, sorry for the MIA! I's locked out by the website last night. My DH and I have been busy on shopping for things after christmas sale. Hope everyone is doing great!

Julia -- Congrats on the postive beta!
Lorrie -- So sorry for your loss. But I'm glad you and DH have come to terms with it and have decided to move forward. Best of luck to you!
Hazel -- My fingers are crossed for your HPT on Saturday. Gosh, I would be waaay too tempted to test every day between now and then.
AFM -- I'm still on for FET on Jan 6th. Had my final P4 level today and I'm waiting for the "go ahead" call. I will then stop lupron and start the big fun PIO shots on NYE. I also do a HCG 10,000 unit trigger just to "mimic natural hormones prior to pregnancy". Anyone else hear of that with a FET?
Happy New Year everyone. Since I'm not pregnant (yet), I do plan to party like a rock star!
Lou--- 1 beautiful baby girl from a single 8 cell embie in Sept 2011
Lou: I did not to an HCG trigger, and mine worked! But, I'm sure your RE has a reason for doing it. There are lots of protocols that lead to success!
As for me, I'm totally sold on the FET route. When I go for baby #2 (or if this one doesn't work out), I would consider a freeze all fresh cycle and then do FETs. It was so much easier on my body, and I think that mine implanted right away, which is the reason my HCG levels are so high. Best of luck!
Party for me on New Years!
For those of you who are preggers or on your 2WW, I'm making "mocktails" so that people won't be able to tell yet! Here's my favorite recipe:
Cos"mom"politan:
Mostly cranberry cocktail
A bit of orange juice
Shot of sprite
Yummy!

BRMommy2B - Those Mocktails sound delicious! Sorry your office co-workers are all sick! UGH! That makes me mad when someones sick around me. Keep spraying that Lysol!! I will be having a beer or two though...need some down time right now. Have fun!
lou - I've never heard the anyone doing the trigger shot with an FET. Hmmmm....that's something new to me. But like BR said, there are so many different protocols out there. Have fun tomorrow night rock star! lol
dodo GL at the ED agency today.
Hazel - OMG 10dp5dt and you haven't POAS yet!!??!! I couldn't do it. There would DEFINATELY be a line there now! TEST!! lol.
Julia - I can't wait until Monday's beta!!!
Well my follow up appt went ok. I mean it sucked not seeing my little bean growing in there, but it made things 'real' for us. Too real I was pretty strong until all the kind nurses and staff starting hugging me in the hallway. I lost it abit there. But the ones that were there today are my fav's. Very nice ladies. So onwards to another try. We even talked to the RE about donor eggs, but I'm not ready yet. I feel I have to have a good one in there somewhere. Maybe 2010 will bring me my 'golden egg'
I convinced the RE to prescribe DHEA for me (25mg's 3 times a day) I'll be starting those as soon as I get them in the mail. They're pretty expensive ($100 for a month supply) but I'll try anything if it might help. They like to see you take them for 3 months, but the RE recommended I don't wait that long to try again as I'll be 43 in Feb and time is of the essence as always. So I think we'll be doing another IVF round in late Feb or March. I can't believe I'm saying 'another round' again. I really thought this was my little miracle sticky bean this time. It's all so hard.
Well with that said....I'm starting to look for anyone who has Follistim to donate or sell cheap. I need 4 900 iu's. I guess I should start looking now :/
