Happy NYE Ladies!! I got to watch the fireworks over the harbor in Australia this morning (on the news)...what a great way to wake up!

Claud - I am also 'organize' crazy. Our checkbook looks immaculate, balanced to the penny, budgeted 6-9 months ahead, etc. I made an IVF binder with every scrap of paper I've ever gotten regarding this so I feel your pain!

Lou - I love the research project! If I pay you extra, can you make sure I'm in the first group??

Moore - I get so sick of hearing those comments. My sister (who I've mentioned here before) always says "If you don't like (feeling fat, upset stomach, etc.) never get pregnant!" I want to point out that I'm not so she should shut up, but I don't. Sorry that happened to you though.

babyhopes - BRRRR...I hate to be cold! I'm a Texas girl and do not like winter...luckily they are pretty short here. I've been having night sweats, but I thought it was because my Boxer has been laying on me (he's warm)...maybe it's the Lupron? I also had a headache yesterday, but not sure that the Lupron is actually causing any of this! How did your first night of stims go???

RLK - I'm SO SO happy they didn't cancel you. You'll have to be sure you let us know how your BW results came back. And, no, I won't be drinking...we got a pretty bottle of sparkling grape juice!

AFM - I start my 'big girl' stims (Follistim, Menopur) on Saturday and then I have my next appt Monday. I also go Wed, Fri, Sat, Sun, Mon and ER is set for Wed!
An October baby sounds perfect! DH & I met on 10/14 and my EDD would be 10/06. Just think that is really cool! Plus it's just in time for all of the fun holidays!
Here we go ladies...it's kinda like we are all holding hands jumping in together! I love that feeling; you guys are great!!!
Me - 32 - no issues
DH - 36 - low count
1st IVF - Jan 2010 - BFP! - Gorgeous girl arrived 10/08/10!!

Hi everyone -

Wow you guys are sure some typing females! I miss 1 day and it took me an hour to get caught up! Oh joy, we have more snow - I'm so tired of shoveling! and shivering too! Is it spring yet? So the last day of 09 - I dont know about you all, but I'm SO ready to put it to bed and hopefully a better year awaits us! Please let this be the year for BFPs all around!

Jenice -You and me both! - I never thought I'd still be trying either!
Oh, well onward and upward, right?

J&C -Doing the hurry up AF dance for you!

Msmac -How wonderful to have 2 boys to help you out! Will they help with diaper duty also?

D & M - Hope AF showed up! Never hesitate to ask your clinic questions - the first time can be really confusing and a bit scary. You'll do just fine!

Rlk1 -Whoo Hoo for staying on schedule! :D it always seems like there must be some sort of drama each time, doesnt it? Glad that its sorted out! For me, they also have me on BCPs (for just 2 weeks, odd?)
dexamethasone on the 18th, and estrace x3 day from now til after the beta. And of course 81mg BA, which i dont mind since without it getting a blood draw from me is a nightmare! This will be our time! I insist on it!

Lou -I love your chart! and the way you think! So, if we're including cancellations, then this will number 6 for me. If not including cancellations then number 3 - either way I wish that I could get my RE to
give me odds like you did! :D

Babyhopes -ACK! Here in NY too! It may as well be Alaska! :?
Yay for starting stims! You'll be our 2nd BFP!! :D

Riley - Oooohhh, exciting! You are so close now! GL with stims!

Katie99 - This will be our year !!!! The probability has to be in our favor now !!!! I just hope the little bean sticks like glue. I may have a blood clotting disorder my lab for dilute russell viper venom was abnormal could possibly go on anti coagulants for the whole pregnancy  We'll see, they can repeat the test again but not until @ least 6 weeks not really sure why. It could of been the reason for my chemical.

Lou - Love your chart, it is awesome !!!!! You are doin an FET ? I wish I had more frosties, I loved the FET and didn't feel stressed hardly @ all. It felt like vacation to me plus you already know what your in for so not as many surprises.

moorebaby - I was cancelled both cycles after 3 weeks on Lupron. Lupron couldn't suppress me @ all E2 level went soaring can only do antagonist protocol using ganarelix which works but expensive like a $100.00 a shot I think. I hyperstimulate which could be dangerous. I do follistim around 100 units daily and had 15 eggs last time which for my age was pretty good. I even had a post allergic reaction to the sesame seed oil from the progesterone shots five days after I stopped them and had big hive welts all over my bum. I had to go on steroids to clear them up. Now on cotton seed oil progesterone which was fine. I have the Irish luck goin for me, huh ?

To everyone I missed, I'll try to get back to ya later. DD wants to go play go fish game. Well Happy NEW YEAR !!!!! This will be our year to hold babies in our arms :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

Just a quick post to let you know I got the go-ahead to start injections tonight! I will be doing IM Estrogen injections every third night starting tonight and then my lining-check appt will be on the 10th. Very exciting!

I asked them when the Beta would be (already getting ahead of myself) and they said FIFTEEN days after the transfer. Again, let me say, "What the WHAT?!?"! I'm beginning to think my clinic is run by a bunch of crazy people---first IM Estrogen injections and now I have to wait fifteen freakin' days after the transfer for the Beta (if I have a transfer, but I WILL, right?!?). Craziness!

Happy New Year, everyone!

Hey everyone quick question. Has anyone used Femara this is one of the new drugs the RE is going to try this cycle. I will have to take it then start my injections. I haven't found much on it as of yet.

Thanks

Rlk1 -- Yup.... PIO tonight... whoo hoo! I have one embie frozen, so I will be transferring only one as well. That is IF it makes the thaw. I'm trying not to think about that part. I don't want multiples since I'm a very petite woman I don't think I could handle more than one in there. And yes, I AM going to drink tonight. I'm not stimming, so I'm gonna party it up tonight!

Riley Baby -- Glad you liked the percentage chart. As for paying me extra to be in the first group.... not necessary. If I had any say whatsoever, I would make that happen. Good luck with your stims!

Katie -- Let's not count cancellations in the percentages... just actual transfers. So you will be at an overall 65.7% odds for success with your third shot. This is your time girl!!!

Jenice -- Yes, I'm doing a FET. And you're right, it IS much easier. I hated stimming. And my ER was soooo painful. I dread ever doing that again. I only have one frozen embie to use, so my fingers are crossed.

Happy New Year everyone!!!

New, confused, but excited

Post by misocial »

Hello to all from Kansas City,
I found this message board a few days ago and have been reading posts and trying to learn the "lingo:. I even printed off a list to take home only to find the list was incomplete and I remained somewhat confused! I still have many questions and while every at my RE's office is nice, I feel like I am a bother when I call. About us my wife and I made it legal in Iowa in Oct and decieded that we wanted to enlarge our family at the ripe age of 40. I have a 23,21, and 14 from a previous marriage, then tubes went south for the winter.
I have been on BCP since the 12th and am due to stop them on the 4th. My instructions are to call when my period starts which should be 3-5 days after????? to get the start date for the Follistim and Menopur. The nausea from the BCP (which I could never tolerate in my youth) is staggering. I started Luperon on the 29th, need to learn more relaxation techniques so I stop freaking myself out. (bad needle phobia) Is any of this sounding familiar? I got a calander so I would not miss anything. While I am not a stupid person, I find myself checking the calander multiple times a day to make sure I dont miss anything even though right now it s one 1 pill and 1 shot. Sorry I tend to be long winded, born and raised in Texas is my only excuse. The nurse says we are aiming for retreval the week of Jan 18. Its like waiting for Christmas, only worse. Any hints and tips are greatly appreciated Thanks and good happy baby luck to all.

Riley baby maybe- wow the fireworks do sound wonderful! i will be taking follistim as well. how much are they having you take? they will be lowering me to 175 from 200 since i had mild ohss last time. yes, it is like we're holding hands & jumping (back...for some of us) into the deep, unpredictable waters of ivf.

katie99- i'm dreaming of spring & the warm weather. i'm with you girl...i'm ready to put '09 behind me & move on to bigger & better things, like a big, pregnant belly, lol!

jenice- i responded very well to my stim meds last time...almost too well..lol. that's why they'll be loweing my follistim. i will also be doing ganirelix. wow the allergic reactions to the pio stinks! at least now you know what you can take instead. hope you enjoyed go fish with dd.

rlk1- YAY for the go-ahead to start the injections! why the heck do you have to wait 15 days for your beta??? when do they think your transfer will be?

lou71- i'm doing a happy thaw dance for you! pio...they're not that bad, but i do not like them, lol! when is your transfer planned for & when do you think they'll be doing your 1st beta? how exciting...you'll be the 1st 1 on this board!!! you drink away & party it up...you deserve it!!! did they do ah on the frozen embbie? that increases embryo splitting & therefore identical twins.

HAPPY NEW YEAR'S EVERYONE!!! MAY THE NEW YEAR BRING US WHAT WE ALL DREAM OF & PRAY FOR EVERYDAY....OUR MIRACLE BABIES!!!

Hello Ladies!

Well I am 'starting' to do personals but am still fairly new and this is getting to be a big thread!

Claud662 Yay for your FET Schedule... how many FE did you get? How many do they thaw, and how many will they transfer?

lou71 I loved your 'odds', and hope that I'm in the first part.... since we have to travel for our cycles it's a lot more expensive...

Faith Hey another Canadian! I loved visiting Nova Scotia. Where is your clinic? I'm guessing Halifax? Of course you have a great chance - you are still pretty young in IVF terms. I know this is scary - I'm just starting myself.

rlk1 Yay for FET date! January 15th will be when I am just starting. I will be so tremendously excited to hear your results. Good luck on your injections.

Okay, I know I haven't touched base with everyone, though I did read all the posts, so to everyone else, I am trying, and want to wish EVERYONE a very Happy New Year.

I got my schedule today -
BC until Jan 12
Travel to Vancouver Jan 14th
Baseline U/S Bloodwork Jan 15th
U/S - Bloodwork on Jan 17, 19, 21, 23, 25

Happy New Year to Everyone and BFP's for all!!!!!! I hope everyone rang in the new year with a new sense of positive vibes. I actually had a little breakdown when the ball dropped. I told my DH that I was just so anxious about getting pregnant and want it so bad it hurts. It felt good to release it and I GOING to be positive about this IVF go around ( it's gonna take a lot of telling myself this for it's in my nature to worry about everything).

moorebaby- Yeah for baby in a box. It's so overwhelming when you get it. I am taking ganrelix this cycle too. I took it for 3 days and will start back up on it on the 4th. I did not have any real noticeable side effects. A couple of hot flashes but I get those even with BCP's

rileybabymaybe- My DH and I got together on Halloween night and got engaged in Oct. So I think we should both take this as a good sign

rlk1- YEAH for injections. When I do mine, I always say a little wish for a BFP right before I "stab"myself. 15 day wait..aaarrrggghhhhh!!! I think Katie has posted in the past a chart when you can test after a 3 and 5 transfer. I think we can test 8 days post with a OTC pregnancy test. Is that right Katie?

bethanyneedsluck- I am not familiar with femara, but I have called the IVF pharmacy in the past when I had questions and I found them so helpful.. and friendly

misocial- Welcome Welcome to you and your partner. I started my AF and on the evening of day 2 I started my stims.. but you soon find out that every clinic does something a little different

katie- I think everyone is getting excitied to be starting our IVF journeys. I expect the pages to be longer and longer as the month goes on... I love it!! Don't you love that the snow is coming back......

AFM- Stimming is going well. I go in on the 4th for my estradiol blood work then u/s the next day or day after.... it's amazing how fast the bloated feeling happens....

To everyone I hope all is going well and BFP's all the way!!!!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR LADIES!!!!! May 2010 be our lucky year with lots and lots of BFP's for everyone.

Sorry i have been mia but ye ladies have been busy!!! Havent the energy for personals but promise will try next wk. Got my "baby in a box" and OMG the amount of meds i am gonna be on is crazy! Normally its just the sniffer then 1 type of stims, but this time because of my "killer" cells i will be on 14 different types!!! and thats not including the few trips to the hospital to go on a drip. Did a little research on what these killer cells are and basically it means my body cant difrenciate (sp?) between embryo cells and cancer cells (they are very similiar) so it just kills them all!! What the drip does is seperate these cells from my blood and distribtue them elsewhere. Isnt it amazing what science can do!!! The side effects from the glucophage (for the polycystic ovaries) are in full effect and i have constant nausau and vomiting.....Preparing meself for Morning Sickness (had it last pregnancy and loved every minute of it)

Chat later and next time with personels.....Promise!!
