beth84: Thank you for the blessing!

BlessedMama: The gal is not proven, never donated, and never had children. She's in the last year of the college. That's another concern!

Hi girls -

I cant take too much more of this artic weather! Today was a whopping 14 degrees - and staying like this for the week  Even the poor dogs do their business and race back inside! Oh, how I miss the South!
Hows this for weird? I'm on Esrace since 12/27 and will stay on til after beta (so like 7 weeks) but tomorrow is the last BCP - so only a total of 10 days? I almost feel sorry for my RE who has come up with all he's got for my case. I wonder if I'm responsible for his hair turning gray? Or does he just bang his head on his desk when he goes over my chart? I sure hope that this IVM idea is a winner, I am burned out on cycling! Cross your fingers for me girls - I'll need it!

Dodo -HAPPY late BIRTHDAY!!! :D Why didnt you let us know? How neat for your b-day to be on new years eve! It must feel like the whole world celebrates with you! I too believe things happen for a reason
I think this new donor turning up and having so many similarities with you is surely a good sign! :D When will your RE approve her?

Positive /Hope -Welcome! When you get your dates let me know so I will update our list!

J &C -YAY for an earlier FET date! I'll be late Jan too! Good luck with your b/w & u/s on Monday!

Beth -Glad that you've found an outlet for your stress - but you shouldnt be running or heavy excersise during stims - you're at risk for ovarian torsion. How about walking?

Good luck to us all! - xoxo

Hello ladies, DH and I met the donor today. The donor is very pretty and humble. We kept telling her how happy we were to find her. I don't know if she'll take it or not. I really don't remember how I would take when I was at her age. Anyway, we're now crossing fingers and hope everything is ok!

Katie: Her AF will come in mid January. We'll wait and see.

Hi Everyone! :)

moorebaby- - :) I'm glad you like my son's name! How old is your nephew? It seems to be growing in popularity in my area (metro DC) and further south (NC - my home) but I've heard it's been popular for years in the mid-west... who knew? :)

HopeR - Welcome to the site & to IVF. I won't kid you.. strap on your seat belt, you are in for quite a ride... BUT, being here is the first step in keeping yourself grounded and SANE through the whole process. So sorry you're doing your tmt long distance... I hope it's not TOO far. Hang in there. When do you start?

dodo928 - Hoping the best for your potential donor. I'm sure there are a lot of questions and "ifs" to worry you... but sounds like your DH is quite a lot of support too. He's right. If it's meant to be, it will be. Praying that this works out for you.

Positive - Welcome to the site & IVF also. You will be just fine. IVF isn't as bad as it sounds. You have already experienced the emotional part, which is the worst thing, the treatment is only 1/2 the battle. Keep your head up, :)

J&C - I love your term for BW/US... I think I will have to adopt it! ;) Glad u r rid of your headache. Bring on the frosties!!

BlessedMama - here's to a peaceful and fruitful acupuncture tmt on Tuesday! Have you done acupuncture before? for TTC? I love it and my acupuncturist. He is phenomenal. Hope they can get your eggies going and bring you some peace and tranquility at the same time!

beth - Hope the running not only helps in the weight dept, but in the peace of mind as well. I'm not a runner... always said, "I don't run unless someone is chasing me - and I don't want to be caught" - but I do (well, I USED to) work out. Yoga, pilates, walking and aerobics are my things... I SO need to get back into my workout plan... but I almost feel like it's too late in the game for IVF... I must tell myself that is not true! I would like to lose 10 lbs before starting again, we'll see if it works. I posted a thread on General about wondering if anyone has used Alli before their cycle... know of anyone? I hate to "cheat" but if I don't have some incentive to not eat bad stuff, I totally will. ugh. Run, girl, run! :) Image

bei - Happy New Year to you too! Hope it's good to be home from traveling. :)

Katie99 - I'm with you on the artic weather situation. It is some kind of frigid out there.Image And I'm at least 5 hrs south of you! Are you from the south? I'm from NC originally. Been in DC for 8 yrs. Nothin' like the south. As soon as my DH can retire (3 yrs or less hopefully) I'm taking my yankee husband & child (or children!!) back down south with me!! --- I am learning something new every day... and thanks to you, I learned about IVM today. I didnt' even know it existed. WOW! Hoping this will be your perfect cocktail!!!! Image

Rayofsunshine- good luck at your re's appointment tomorrow! let us know how it goes.

Hope644- my sister-in-law lives in arizona. my nephew is going to be 12 this year. her 3 other sons' names are wyatt, cole, & cru...very unique.

dodo928- my fingers are crossed for you gilr! happy belated birthday!

katie99- this weather stinks...it is FREEZING! i know what you mean about dogs doing their business & then running back in the house...that's my boxer...i don't blame her. i'm also sure that ivm is the answer for you...fingers & toes are crossed.

bei- welcome back! how was houston? much warmer than where i'm at...lol.

beth84- i know what you mean about extra weight. before i started my 1st ivf cycle in september, i was about 132. i'm 5'1". then i put on all this weight from the meds & the mild ohss. after the miscarriage, i decided that i needed to get back into working out...nothing major, just basic stuff. i love food too much to give it up....although i eat pretty healthy. so i started walking on the treadmill at home for about 30 minutes/day, 3-4 days/week. i also started zumba 2 times/week for an hour each. i started seeing results. then the holiday season got here & i had so much less time for working out. well, i had a physical the wednesday before christmas & i weighed 138...& then i weighed myself this past friday & i was 142...AGH!!! now that i'll be starting my meds next week, who knows how much more weight i'll gain?! being so short, any weight i put on is so much more obvious. oh well....what are you going to do?

BlessedMama- i wish i could do acupuncture, but i don't like the needles. you'd think with all the needles i have used & will be using, i would have gotten over my fear, lol!

J&C- glad that you're happy with your re's office...that is a very big plus & relief during your cycle. i love your "stick & stir" term...very cute!

Positivethinking & HopeR- welcome! we are all here for you! just like your names....have to be positive & hopeful, all of us!

AFM....i go back to school tomorrow....it was so NICE being off for a week & a half. oh well...the good thing is that i'm just getting closer to the whole process....so exciting!

Katie- Seriously? Ovarian torsion? Sigh. I can't even do the things I don't really want to do during this cycle, hmm? At least I've got a few days left before I start stimming, and then maybe I'll try something lower-impact. Don't envy the South too much right now. It's 20 degrees or so here, and our houses have terrible insulation. I'm wearing two sweatshirts and a hat in the living room!

Dodo - late happy birthday, and that's great about the donor. I hope she follows through.

Hope644 - Maybe I'll try the yoga or pilates - there's a studio a couple blocks away. I don't know about alli, but I'd definitely check with your RE before starting anything.

moorebaby- Have fun getting back to classes tomorrow! Stay warm up there!

DAMN....you girls can TYPE!!!

gi: 14 different shots?!? Did I understand that correctly? If so, you definitely get the "Most-courageous-and-determined-IVF-girl" award!!

J&C: YAY for early AF!! Woo-hoo!! Good luck tomorrow! Can't wait to hear when your FET is scheduled!

Hope664: Your name sounds so familiar! Did we cycle together before? I have a DS the same age as yours....maybe that's why you sound so familiar? Anyway, glad to see you here!

D&M: Let us know how your appt goes on Wednesday!

moorebaby: YAY for your baby-in-a-box! What are you going to school for?

Riley baby maybe: How are the "big girl" shots coming along? Good luck at tomorrow's appt!

Katie99: YAY for your LAST BCP tomorrow!! Yes, yes....this WILL be our time. I know you're right that waiting awhile for Beta results (especially after an FET) is smart---I've just never been good at delayed gratification!

lou71: How are the PIO injections treating you? You're getting so close to your transfer date!! You'll be PUPO so soon!!

misocial: Glad you'll be done with BCPs tomorrow since they make you so sick. As far as tips....Hmmm....it helped me to take things one day at a time and the support from this site was invaluable.

HopeR: I got your PM and I'm so glad you're joining us! So you're doing your IVF cycle long distance? Where are you traveling to? Let us know if you have any questions about this crazy process!

dodo98: So very exciting about your potential donor. When will she let you know?

DandMe: Thanks for your encouragement! I guess the 15th is a big day for both of us (and for Lou71--I think that's when she has her Beta test!).

baby hopes: Okay, tonight I have to do another IM Estrogen shot. I'll try your BFP-chant and let you know how it goes! Good luck at tomorrow's appt---seems like there are a lot of people on this board who have appts tomorrow!

Positivethinking: Welcome! We also tried 3 IUIs before our first IVF cycle. Sending you positive vibes for your first IVF attempt (which WILL be successful---gotta have that PMA, right?).

Bei: Good to hear from you--we missed you!

BlessedMama: Acupuncture on Tuesday? Nice, nice. I hope you feel nice and relaxed afterwards!

beth84: Ha Ha! LOVE the "real South" reference! Yes, I'm in Northern Va--does that make me a Yankee?

AFM, nothing new and/or exciting. My next appt (the lining-check appt) isn't for another week--so it's pretty quiet here. To all that I've missed (which I'm sure is many!), I'm thinking of you too! Talk to you all soon!

Hi Girls.... quick update here.

Dodo -- Happy belated birthday! You're a New Years baby! How cool. 8) That sounds fantastic about your new potential donor. I really hope it all works out for you.

rlk1 -- The PIO is going ok. The first couple were fine and then last night I think DH hit a nerve because it hurt so bad and today my whole left cheek is extremely sore when I move or sit.
And yup... my beta will be 1/15.

J&C -- "stick and stir", LOVE it! Gotta keep it light, right? Even DH got a chuckle out of that one. As far as stress on the body goes, FET is a piece-o-cake. I had a darn cyst & required extra bloodwork, but otherwise I would have only had 3 appts. And no stimming! They say frozens have a slightly lower success rate but with more sophisticated methods of freezing and thawing, the rates at many clinics are the same for fresh and frozen transfers. How many embies are you transferring?

katie -- It's freezing here in Chicago too. Single digits. My dog has been peeing on the deck on the snow and running back inside. She's a Boxer and hates extreme heat and cold. I'm on Estrace too.. I like it much better than the icky sticky patches. I really hope IVM is it for you too. I think your RE deserves a lot of credit for his determination for making this work for you. Sounds like he's done a lot of thinking and research. What sort of success rates did RE give you for this?

AFM -- I'm starting to get real nervous about FET on Wed. Supposed to get a call on Tues to tell me what time to be there. The transfer itself isn't the problem... but the outcome. The worst part of it will be the full bladder! I'm scared my lone embie won't survive the thaw even though their thaw rates are 80-90% with vitrification at my clinic. Since RE only gave me a 20-30% chance with this embie, I'm trying not to get my hopes up too much. In the last cycle, everything went so well, I was sure I was BFP. But it wasn't. I can still hear the nurses voice on the call "I'm sorry to tell you, you are not pregnant." I was at work, and my boss was in my office. So I simply said "Thanks for the call" and hung up. Then I tried to pretend like nothing was wrong. I really hated getting that call at work. I don't want to go through that again but there's no avoiding it.

lou71- reading about your bfn phone call at work just made me tear up. i'm praying for you....doing a happy thaw dance & a bfp dance. the pio shots are not as bad but you're right, when dh hits a nerve, it sucks. by the way, i have a boxer too...love her!

rlk1- i'm actually a middle school teacher. with days off, i'm as bad as the students, if not worse, lol!

Hi girls -

Allright, not to turn into the weather lady, but its flippin snowing again!
The more it snows the less I feel like driving in it - it may not have been the smartest move trading in my Jeep for a Caliber (in july of course! Who thinks of winter then?) So today was the last BCP and this time was so quick that I didnt even have any effects from them - so thats good news. Now just waiting til the 18th to start the dexamethasone - yay steroids :?

dodo -Crossed that this one is THE one! Hope this cycle works out perfect - you've already had a lot of stress before you even start. Hope that all smooth from now on!

Hope -thanks! yes, I lived in GA and AL for many years, my exDH was military so I had to get used to moving often. Now my DH's job has him locked into NY - so stuck here for a long while. Love the graphics you find!

Moore -Dont even bother stressing weight right now, soon you'll be preggers! We are all getting so close! Now the excitement begins!

Beth -GL at your baseline tomorrow! Yes, everyone stimming is at risk of ovarian torsion. Picture your ovaries as hanging there like 2 almonds - when you stim they enlarge so much that now due to the weight of them now they are like large walnuts, any type of strenous excersise, heavy lifting, twisting motions put them at risk of flipping over on themselves -(serious Emergency! ) Just take it easy during stims, and when your clinic tells you to drinks lots of water to prevent hemoconcentration (thickening of the blood) listen to them. Sorry to sound like debbie downer, but when I read that you were ready to go running I wondered why your clinic hasnt made you aware of the risks during stims? Sorry, but you can save the running for after you're done :D Or for chasing a toddler! When do you start stims anyway?

Rlk1- How goes the IM injections? We can always POAS early....

Lou -Wow- Wed is so close! you totally snuck up on me! Wishing you a perfect thaw! I do hope that your beta phone call makes you jump all over doing the happy dance!
My RE never gives odds on cycles - thats probably for the best in my case! I think I have become my poor RE's Rubiks cube! I can picture him tearing his hair out trying to figure out my responses sometimes!

Misocial -Aww, you're just on hormonal overload! it happens to us all on stims. Sometimes tears, and according to my DH "Are we at the point of Yes, Dear yet?" Just tell your DP to hold on for the duration! :D
And just keep agreeing with you - tee hee!

Good Luck to all of us! - xoxo
