Evening Ladies...I hope you all had a nice weekend!!!

Katie-that's amazing your off BCP's!! It's so nice to check off medicines on the list and go on to the next phase!!! Thanks for updating the lists-you are always so on top of those things

dodo-Your story of getting DE and finding this young woman in amazing. I truly hope that she gets passed by the agency and does this miracle for you and DH. When do you hear back from the agency?

Hope-I have to first say that I LOVE your name!! It is so pretty and fits perfectly in this IVF roller coaster!! How do you get all those cute graphics in your signature and text?

Moorebaby-I hear you with the frustration with losing weight!! I am usually an avid exerciser and watch what I eat but I was told not to do anything to stress my body so EVERYONE at the gym has been asking my DH where I've been so I think they all assume I'm already preggers!! Just enjoy the ride and you will lose the weigh AFTER baby!!

Beth-fingers crossed for tomorrow's baseline!! I also heard what Katie is talking about but I did hear that light walking on the treadmill was permitted!! No running for you!!!

Rlk1-Good luck with your lining apt next week!!! Fingers crossed...

Lou-your ET is my DH birthday so it's going to be a great day for you!!! I'm thinking of your snow baby and sending you tons of PMA!! One night of my POI shots my DH also hit something where I was so sore the next day but it went away!! Plus I had black and blue marks all across my butt!!!

Misocial-I have totally become a crier also!!! I saw Avatar the other night and wanted to sob through the whole thing!!!!

Jaydent-we are close in cycle since if my saline ultrasound looks good I think I will start Lupron on the 8th!!!

rayofsunshine-hope tomorrow brings good news:)

J&C-so happy you had AF early and can begin this journey ASAP!!!

Positivethinking-welcome to this board! the women here are AMAZING and have totally kept me sane through this process!!! Please ask any questions and we are all here for you!! I too have had 4 unsuccessful IUI's and two chemicals....so I'm hoping this is all of our times!!

Blessedmama-I also go for acupunture and find it amazing!!! It really helps me relax and this time around I'm going to do more apts after the transfer to help with implantation!

AFM....nothing new to report! Just counting the days until Friday's apt and hopefully that will get the ball rolling with everything! Sorry to those I missed and I hope tomorrow will bring lots of good news with scheduling and follow-ups!

xoxo

Hello ladies and HOLY COW!!! I know better than to miss too many days on here but I really lounged over vacation and missed a ton!

moorebaby and claudia-thanks for the well wishes for tomorrow! I really don't know what to expect. This is a 2 hour meeting with a fertility counselor before we even start the donor selection process. I keep asking my husband if she will be probing to find out if we are crazy loons and if so why she needs 2 hours to find out! I'm just ready to get things started :)

gi and moorebaby-your stories literally had me racing to the bathroom so I wouldn't pee my pants! I don't think I have ever laughed so hard but there is something about someone taking dog pills and ball exams that I find hysterical! Thank you for brightening my day :)

misocial-I'm in KC as well! J&C and I go to the same clinic in Olathe. I cry all the time but IVF has wrecked me-I feel for you!

katie-sounds like you've got a great plan all laid out already-I have sent up a few extra prayers that IVM is the perfect way for you.

dodo-It sounds like you've found a great donor (half the battle!) I hope that she works out for you. Did you have to do a counseling session before your 1st DE cycle? I would love any info from you-I feel SO clueless!

I need to take some serious notes so I can chat with all of you:) Maybe that should be my New Year's resolution since it is the only one I am likely to keep! Keep the faith ladies :)

Beth84: I know what you mean about trying to remain sane through this process. I found that any form of exercise really helped. I couldn't do my harder work outs at the end of stimming...just too uncomfortable, but walking was even helpful. I just joined a gym so that I can use their treadmills during the winter. And, of course, a good support system like our board helps! Also, I'm a southern girl! Living in the NYC area.

Hello all!! I'm not sure I'm quite ready for it to be Monday again, but I don't think I get a choice either. I'm off to my first stick-n-stir tomorrow.

misocial - I cried all the way through my first IVF too (and the 2 years prior to that also). I say cry all you want. I had a few small bruises with Lupron. I had a few headaches too.

lou - RE's office has a 90% chance of successful thawing, but only a 40% chance of the FET working. We have 4 frosties, and we're going to thaw and transfer all 4, hoping they all make the thaw. I'm glad to hear that a FET is easier. I could use a little easy in my life right now.

katie - It's freezing cold here in the Midwest too. Single digits and still snowing. It's absolutely beautiful until I have to get out in it.

rayofsunshine - Can't wait to hear about your appointment tomorrow! :D

claud - Is Avatar worth seeing?
Me and DH - 37
TTC - 7 years, PCOS and 1 blocked tube
IVF #1 w/ICSI...DD born Oct. '08
IVF #2 w/ICSI...BFN
IVF #3 - FET....ectopic pregnancy
HE already knows the outcome.

Hi everyone. Thought I'd join the group too. Due to insurance reasons I have already done all my testing and was just waiting till January so I could use my FSA to pay for my portion. Anyways, I started my BCP back on the 20th of December. I have my teaching appointment tomorrow (the 4th) and start my Gonal-F on the 9th. Hopefully ER will be the week of the 19th and ET the week of the 25th! I am in a little different boat than many as I have 4 kids and never suffered from infertility. I had my tubes tied in 06, but this last year was rough. I lost my mom at the beginning of the year. She was my best friend, baby sitter, hang out buddy, and anything else you can imagine. I had been single for the last 7 years and had no intentions of dating or marrying. When she died, I was lonely and decided to try dating. Well, I got married. My dh has an older daughter and a 6 year old son from a previous relationship and really wants one more. So, here we are. Tubal reversal is not covered by my insurance and IVF is at 50%. I found a program to help pay for my meds and have my FSA to pay my balance for procedure so this is where I land. I am hoping my first cycle is successful as I might do an FET if not, but thats it for me. Good luck and God Bless you all!!!

Ok, the site just booted me out!! GRR. And of course, I had written just about all that I was going to! This will be a quick abbreviated version (you can thank the site later! ;) )

I think Beth and RayofSunshine have appts tomorrow? Image

Lou - I will re-write for u... I totally understand that fear of the dreaded phone call. My first cycle was a BFN and I got the call while in the aisle at the drug store with HPT in hand. I was SO certain I was pg. I drove home and parked my car nearly sideway in the garage. I have no recollection of doing so. (And u thought drunk drivers were dangerous, try a girl with a shocking BFN. :( ) anyway. I would NEVER tell u to do something that you don't want to... and I know we aren't supposed to test, but I found that it was the only way I could keep my sanity. I know there are some strictly NO-TEST girls out there, and more power to ya'll.. but for me, I can't go without it. My RE even knows now that I'm going to test, no matter what. My DH even hates that I do it, but I just have to. So, for what it's worth... my 2 cents.... but for WednesdayImage Keep the faith, girlfriend! Prayers going up for you!!

Katie - thanks for keeping up the list, you do a great job!! You finished your BCPs today and what til the 18th? Nothing? I'm confused... but i guess you're learning as u go along too, eh? Don't freeze up there!!

Claudia - Thanks! :) It's actually not my real name, I chose it for this site. I thought it was perfect for IVF roller coaster too! My graphics are from various sites, but mostly from glittergraphics.com and random pics from photobucket. My ticker is from lilypie. They also have TTC and pregnancy tickers. They are really cute and have added a lot since I cycled last. Good luck at ur appt Friday!! Get ready to roll!!

J&C - Have a good S&S tomorrow!! Image

To Everyone I missed ... Image

AFM - Had a nice day of cleaning today. DH was home and helped with little man, so I got a lot done. Totally NOT ready to go back to work tomorrow. Still fighting a sinus infection that morphed from a cold I got on Christmas Day. ick. Plus, I haven't been at work for 2 wks, with the exception of 1 day last wk. ugh. Hoping AF comes sooner than it has been of late, but it probably won't. Expecting it Monday 1.11, so one more week, then I'll be starting BCPs a couple of days later. I'm in the que... just waiting my turn to get on the coaster!!

http://www.eastwindsacupuncture.com/front.html

Here is a really great site with lots of info about IVF acupuncture and links to studies done regarding it. It helps with alot of things, blood flow to the uterus, improve ovarian response, improve egg quality, relaxation, etc. My pracitioner recommends twice a week four weeks before retrieval. 24hours before retrieval, within 24hours of transfer, and immediately after transfer.

Really, the needles are not bad. Most of the time you don't even notice them. They never hurt, but every once in a while the spot almost burns a little at first but only on certain points. For some reason the one on my forehead does that and sometimes the one on the fleshy part of the hand. But normally, I just fall asleep on the table and have a little nap in the middle of the day. Its great!

BlessedMama: thank you for the website>

Hope644: hope the sinus get well soon. both my DH and I have sinus issue and we rinse our nose everyday with Neilmed. otherwise, we'll use Ocean spray when going out. it has no meds. inside but just salt plus some chemical to ease the salty water choking the nose.

samgarkay: welcome to this thread. you will find a lot of support here.

Beth84: Like karenthescorpio, I feel walking helps me a lot.

rayofsunshine: about counselling, it really depends on which RE you'll go with. Some require it but some not. The RE that we're planning to do the first DE cycle require both of us do. so, we got a referral to talk to the psychologist and she provided many helpful info to us and also wrote a reference letter to the RE telling them that we'll be a good candidate of having a donor child. Same as the donor, some require them to go thru a psychological screening and some don't. I turned out going to another RE who doesn't require psychological screening on intended parents and donors.

claud662: I found the current donor from my post at this forum. so, she doesn't belong to any agency. We know each other's name and she will go directly to the RE. We save the agency fee.

Katie: I don't have any frozen eggs left from my last donor. Hopefully, I can use the fresh eggs of the donor. Is there a place for fresh egg cycle? what do you think? if not, just forget what i said. thanks. xo
BTW, the day you start dexamethasone will be the day my donor has AF.

lou71: Sorry for the unavoidable situation, I would feel embarrassing too when receiving those phone calls at work.

misocial: hope you feel better...

rlk1: the donor will have AF around mid January and will notify by the clinic whether she pass or not.

hello ladies, forgot to say thank you for the support. My donor and I emailed several several times in the past few days and finally filling all the gaps of each side's concern. Both sides are very well committed and we will wait for AF to come on the donor's side which will be mid January. Again, crossing fingers and hope RE will approve.

good night and sweet dreams.

I can tell everyone is getting exicited because the board is growing. I love it  !!!!

bci- Welcome back!!!! I hope you had a wonderful time with your family

DandM- Did you call your RE to see if they gave you the right appt?

dodo928- I am one of those people who always look for a sign that things are going the right way and I think the way you found the donor is a sign and is meant to be. I am so happy for you and your DH. I am so glad that things are going great with her. Always follow your heart. I think that is something everyone of us who are IVF are doing, for who would put themselves thru this emotionally draining rollercoaster by choice

Hope644- The award for best graphics goes to you..... I think you and Katie should start a new message board how how to apply graphics. I just finally figured out the signature thing. I still have no idea how to do the the freaking smiling faces......Glad you are feeling better. I hope your Af comes soon!!!!

rlk1- How did the shots go with the chant??

Katie- Thanks you again for updating the board. YEAH for the last BCP!!!! I think we are all exicited about your IVM. We are all going to learn so much from you, thanks for keeping us up to date. Now, as for the cold weather... I am there with you sister. I am orginally form Florida. Moved to Boston for school and fell in love, etc, etc. It is now thru March that I regret moving here but I keep thinking about how wonderful spring is...... am I helping you forget about the cold yet????? FYI..... I heard snow again Friday....

misocial- I think the fact we finally want our period is so ironic.......doing the get your AF soon dance for you...... As for being emotional.....I think it is normal. We are pumping our bodies with so many hormones that it is only natural that we become more sensitive!!!!!

lou71- I can not believe you FET is wednesday.. Sending you best wishes!!!! Keep us up to date.

J&C- I go for my stick and stir Wednesday!! Love it!!!!

moorebaby- I know what you mean about the weight!! Try low impact. I have been really concentrating on what I eat... spinach is my friend, spinach is my friend, spinach is my friend......

jaydentd- Yeah for lupron starting soon!!!!! It always feel better to be on to the next step..

Beth- GL on baseline

Claud- GL on your appt. I hope you get your calendar set.

rayofsunshine- GL on meeting!!! Let us know how it goes

samgarkay- I am so sorry about the loss of your mother. She'll keep an eye out for you an dhopefully you only need to do this once!!!!

Blessedmama- I have been doing reflexology!! I love it.

AFM- Had bl today. My E2 came back @ 167 which on first IVF was 53. So they are pleased with the 167 ( under new protocol). I am continue my meds (gonal f and menopur) and go for my stick and stir on Wed. I am hoping for my ER next week. I feel like my ovaries are swollen and have a constant ache. Nothing too bad but annoying!!!

To all I forgot, I am sorry!! Senidng BFP's to all!!!
