Brrr...it's cold here in TEXAS! Hope everyone is doing great today.

Lou - How are you feeling? Did you go back to work today?

gi - How fun that you made a snowman! Also...my DH is wonderful in so many ways, but he will not change the sheets every other day! LOL

Moorebaby - Hopefully AF comes Tuesday or later, sometimes they come up with the most ridiculous reasons to change schedules around!! Keep us updated on your status.

katie - I'm not on any steroids, but I know the sweats will be well worth it in the end! I'm also pretty lucky that that is the worst effect I've felt from the meds. LOL...can't believe you pruned in the shower.

baby hopes - Thank you so much for the tips. Stripping and then shivering doesn't seem to be working too well for me!!! Only a few nights to go.

rlk - I'm so relieved that your AF stopped. Now, full steam ahead!

Franny - GL on your appts. Let us know how they turn out.

AFM - I had my SNS this morning and it was great! RE says I have so many follies he can't count, but measured 10-15 of them. All very close in size. My lining was 9.3 mm...does anyone know if this is good? He says it's good (and I believe him) just wondering about others thickness. :?: He decreased my Follistim again, down to 50 tonight and tomorrow down to 25. I see him again Saturday (instead of Sun) and probably move ER from Wednesday to Monday or Tuesday. I guess I'll know more Saturday. Thank you all for the thoughts; I really appreciate it!! :D
Me - 32 - no issues
DH - 36 - low count

Oh...I meant to tell you a story of why I love my RE so much. I was asking a few questions and one of them was "When is the last time before retrieval that we can have sex?" His response..."Who? You & I? Anytime is fine." Then of course we laughed and he gave me my serious answer. I just love him...he caught me off guard and made me laugh. He really fits DH & my sense of humor. (DH really got a kick out of it and can't wait to razz him when he sees him Saturday.) These are the inappropriate laughs I need! Just thought I'd share... :P

Where is everyone today? I miss you guys!

bethanyneedsluck: Ugh. How disappointing. Although, it sounds like you have a really good attitude and are ready to push forward to next month. Next month is February, so does this mean you'll stay with us?!? Please, please, please!

Riley baby maybe: That is too funny about your RE. I think I would have turned bright red--even though I know he was just kidding around! So glad to hear that you're moving right along!! YAYY!!! Will you be next after Lou71 or is baby hopes next (or am I missing someone?)? I can't remember---can I blame that on hormones?

Hey ladies,

Riley baby our re gave us a leaflet of do's and don'ts and sex before retrieval was highlighted as exactly 3 days before retrieval! prob. due to j's low sperm count and motility.

Moorebaby still laughing over the way you say "balls exam" not a scene i wish to envisage!!! Going do a "late AF"dance for you and how annoying they never informed you they were shutting for few days!!

Katie how funny if you had done a me on it  my dog is back on his antibiotics as his skin infection wont clear up and i am keeping them well away from my tablets!! but he is a little fecker he knows only too well we are giving him tablets and spits them out when we are not looking i am finding them everywhere!! i tried putting them in meat, biscuits etc but no he is too cute for that my other fat dog would think the tablet Is a biscuit and swallow it.

bethany sorry you are put off for another 3 wks but i am not due transfer till end feb so we should be close together!!

Dandeme i am a dental nurse/receptionest and due to cut backs in our countrys recent budget we are been hit terribly and the boss is panicking ah well not my problem i am trying to let it in one ear and out the other cause if i do get pregnant this time i am going out on sick leave for the first 3 mths as was very stressed last time in work and also the m/c started in work and i am terrified it will happen again so if i get pg i am gonna concentrate on keeping it and not worrying about work. One doctor told me before i need to start prioritising my life she said baby or work i am choosing baby, feck it sure i will never be rich!!

samgarkay i only found out at my new clinic when they read my medical file of all my previous cycles that i have one difficult ovary and sometimes they were never able to retrieve eggs from it despite flushing it several times you would think they would have bothered to tell me this and here i was always thinking i just had low number of eggs. Sometimes my scans are painful when they are looking for it and i do pray i get the nice nurse who realises she is shoveing a long wand up me!!!

J&C blue pee really!!! if that was me i would take a picture  ....disgusting or what!! Have to admit i love the FET way easier!!

baby hopes sounds like you are cooking nicely

lou our PUPO girl 1 day down!!! Dont you just hate the 2WW but also feel blessed to be there!

AFM Yeah still lots of snow here and Ireland has practically come to a stand still, its been decades since we have been affected by this last time i was about 5yrs old. We had to close practice 3.5 hrs early today as bad driving conditions and only working for couple hrs tomorrow  Seriousy its freezing our car said minus 13 degrees celius but its so picturesque. Our doggies usually stay outside during the day but we had to lock them in the hallway.....used to lock them in the kicthen if desperate but our little westie loves ripping leather 2seaters....4 in 5 yrs!! our family has bets on how long this one will last
7th IVF finally our precious miracle girl Kayla born 24/11/10, 8th IVF FET Sept 2012 BFP!!!

Lou: Sorry, just saw your post. Beta on 1/15, that's so soon! Another great thing about FET. My DH always tells jokes like, "I bet Hope (our embie name; won't be the real name) is going to be cold-natured" and "should we tell her that's she's really 6 weeks older than her birthday" and silly things like that to make me laugh. FYI- I will NOT be telling her that! (And no, I don't know it's a girl, but since we call her Hope, it's a she for now). As far as the day of transfer, I don't even remember eating! I'm sure I did, but it's a blur. I spent most of the time not very confident since of our three embies, this one was the "least progressed" and a big surprise when she made it to blast and got frozen. I just know that she's going to be a fighter in life. I know that will have its challenges and blessings, but I'm somewhat of a fighter, so I know it will turn out alright.

I feel like I know you, and think of you all the time. I SOOOO hope that this is your time! Keep me posted. I don't always check on this board regularly so PM me if you have any questions!

rlk - I can honestly say that I don't think I've ever turned red. There is nothing that can be said that would make me blush or embarass me. I'm horrible and make jokes about anything and everything at the most uncomfortable times. For anyone who watches Friends, I'm Chandler mixed with a little bit (ok, alot) of Monica.
I blame everything on the hormones! "Honey, I'm sorry I {snapped at you, forgot something, fell asleep at 7 pm, didn't do laundry, etc.} but I am going through menopause mixed with making a baby, it's very difficult." We laugh and he is such a great sport with all of this.
I think babyhopes is next, followed by faith 2009 and then me. My first beta should be on the 25th or 26th, I think.

Hi everyone. Pardon the interruption of your group, but i've been lurking for the past week or so and finally mustered the courage to say hi.

DH and I just started injectibles for ivf #2 coming off of a year of 4 unnsuccessful iui's and 1 unsuccessful ivf. we've been trying for our first for over 2 years total. hope to do transfer next week - though we've already got a dominant follie which could screw things up.

just looking for a little support, am I'm sure everyone knows, this is exhausting mentally, financially, and physically (hello lupron headaches and bruised belly). there's a chance this will be our last attempt before moving onto adoption as we ultimately just want to be parents. and soon!

thanks and look forward to reading more from you all.

hms-welcome! so glad you decided to join us and I'm sorry to hear about your long journey so far but this is going to be our year!!!! That's exciting that you are already so into your cycle and will almost be PUPO!! Keep us updated and know that we are here for support!

Riley Baby Maybe-you crack me up!! I also have a little bit if a sarcastic side to me and I would have thought it was hilarious if the RE said something like that, but considering all the RE's in the practice are women, I don't think that joke will be made!! That's great that you had so many follies today and that your ER will probably be bumped up!!! SOOO EXCITING

rlk1-That always happens....the problem always goes away once we get it checked out, but better safe than sorry!! your lining sounds fantastic and glad you will be progressing in your cycle! Thanks for the kind words....I just heard back from the RE that DH and my karyotpyes came back normal which means the chemicals weren't caused by chromosomal issues which is good news so hopefully my body will be nice to me this month and the embie will stick!! I am going to talk to the RE tomorrow about doing assisted hatching to help with implantation??? I can't wait to get some answers on what they will do differently this cycle

moorebaby-I would call the clinic and ask them to take something to delay your AF a couple of days just so you don't have to delay you a whole month! that would make me INSANE!!

Katie-YAH for hot showers!!!

bethanyneedsluck-so bummed to hear your cycle is delayed 3 weeks but hopefully that will give some time for your cyst to go down. The BCP's should help so fingers crossed

franny-I've been thinking of you today and can't wait to hear how your day went!!! fingers crossed :P Hope you had a nice nap in acumpuncture! I start going again for acupuncture again next Friday which will be nice

gi-that's a great idea about taking some time off after going PUPO to let your body be stress free! Sorry to hear about the budget cuts  BTW...love all the Irish slang words-your posts are very enjoyable to read!!

Dandme-that is great news about maternity leave!! I actually don't know my work's policy since I am the youngest here by 20 years (I work in a synagogue as the High School Director) and am afraid to ask since no one here knows what I'm going through!! It's going to be very interesting though when I do go on maternity leave since I literally do ALL teen programming and I hope they can find someone to cover my programs when I'm at home!!!

babyhopes-great news on your e2 levels today!! try not to do heavy lifting cause your ovaries are getting very enlarged and will only get worse until the ER and then even afterwards sometimes!!

AFM...super excited for tomorrow and I will update you all on my consultation and FET schedule!!!

xoxo

Hi ladies-

Well, we had a snow day today (I teach 2nd grade) so I called RE and asked if we could pick the egg donor today. So we went in and had her picked in 25 minutes :) She is 23 years old and has been a successful egg donor already.

The next step is to sync our cycles so it looks like the earliest I can start is in March. Luckily I don't have to take BCP or any medications except the estrodial (Yes, the lovely blue pill J&C is doing). I found the silver lining of DE-no shots!!!

I will still check in on all of you but it looks like I will be much later-keep the faith! You are amazing women and are going to be equally amazing moms!

hello everyone! what a long day...it feels like it should be 10pm instead of 6.

claud hi hun! i am soooo excited for you! thats great news about the tests all coming back normal....another weight off your shoulders. this time that lil embie/embies are going to stick i promise! you have so many frosties to choose from...do you know how many they are going to thaw? this is kinda neat..my mother-in-law works in a synagogue as the highschool director too...its funny that you say you are the youngest by 20 years because at her temple all of the teachers are all young...right out of college, or in their late 20's...some are even my husbands friends from high school so she is always updating us on his friends haha she's better then facebook!

lou your PUPO!!!! yay!! i hope that chinese food helps that lil fighter of an embie snuggle in tight! what movies did you rent? sticky sticky gooey dust is flying your way mama!! :D

rlk1 like claud said...it always stops once you try to do something about it...no matter what "it" is...happens to me all the time. i'm so glad everything is back on track and looking good! wooohoo! oh btw where in VA. are you? i lived in richmond for 2 years right out of college and i LOVED IT!! i cried the day i drove away when i moved to be with DH in michigan while he finished college...boooo for boys! haha

katie yay for hot showers! i love hot showers in winter! are you expecting more snow tomorrow? i think its gonna be to the south of us and we'll only get an inch..which i fine by me.

rileybaby haha thats so funny. i totally say whats on my mind all the time...me and DH are very sarcastic with each other so when other people are involved they usually dont know what to make of our craziness. i am more inapropiate then DH, and he's more sarcastic...he is always shaking his head at me when i make dumb jokes in public haha his favorite thing to say to me is "same room hunny...we are in the SAME ROOM!" haha which means i said something too loud in front of strangers. and rolls his eyes! we are a joy to be around hahaha
soooo exciting about RE not even being able to count all your follies...please rub some of that magic off on me...they can usually count all of mine on one hand after 9 days of stims....you'll be PUPO in no time!! :D :D

moorebaby again i have to agree with claud. there's got to be something they can do to keep you from getting AF until tuesday. i would be LIVID! dont they know we spend every waking moment thinking about the day we will be able to start everything? i am sending you all the no AF until tuesday vibes i have!! hang in there!

bethany so sorry to hear of your delay again! :( i hope those 3 weeks fly by for you and you'll be cyst free! today at my u/s the tech said i had 2 cysts on my left side, but i already new this from last cycle...it doesnt seem to matter for me though...they think mine have always been there my whole life...strange!

gi there is a new movie coming out here in the states called "leap year" its got amy adams in it (who i LOVE) but this movie looks horrible...except that it was filmed in ireland, and the scenery looks amazing. my parents did a group tour around all of ireland for 3 weeks afew years ago, and i was so jealous...i'm not jealous of your snow though...we get plenty of that white stuff every year here in the northeast!

hms welcome!! i'm so glad you decided to jump in to our crazy ivf family!! please make yourself at home! cant wait to get to know you! :)

babyhopes GROW FOLLIES GROW!!! i'm so excited for you, and happy everything is moving right along!! yay!! :D

afm i just got home from acupuncture and am feeling very relaxed....while i type this i am snuggled up on my couch with a cup of my hot fertility tea, a big blanket, and my doggie piper. DH chaparones his schools ski club so i havent or talked to him since this morning when i left for my stick and stir. so you all are the first to know....i am starting stims tonight!!! woooohoooo!! i am doing 150 units of repronex tonight and starting at 300 units of gonal-f every morning tomorrow! i do the same thing until sunday when i go in for more bloodwork only. the one thing that kinda stinks is that the office right here 10 minutes from my house is closed on sundays so i have to drive an hour down to reading, ma. at 645am on sunday just to get some bloodwork done...LAME! atleast DH will be around so i will make him wake up and come with me...then maybe we can find something fun to do down in boston while we are there....hummmm what can we do at 7am on a sunday?? haha not much i bet...maybe we'll find a diner and have breakfast. i made a new appointment for acupuncture on saturday so i can get the most out of it before my b/w.
ok well i need to go veg out for awhile before i let the needles fly! send me all the follie growin dust ya'll got ok? i need it!!
good night my sisters!! :D

moorebaby - Remodeling? That's the excuse for potentially making you wait a month? That stinks!!! Yes, in the grand sceme of things it's only a month, but it's hard when you get your mind set on a schedule. Hang in there!!! No AF dance for you until Tuesday and after.

katie and claud - Sorry katie - I must have looked at the wrong name. But I do care!!! :D Claud - just remember that your turn is coming soon. :D

lou - I've been thinking about Chinese since you mentioned it. I'm definitely going to have that for dinner after my ET too. YUM!!!!

DandMe - Before the FET, they have you on estrogen to thicken the lining of your uterus. 5 days before the FET, you also add progesterone (my RE's office does shots and vaginal - yuck!). So far my FET date is 1-28-10, but that could be moved back if my uterus isn't cooperating. We have 4 frosties, and we're planning to transfer all 4 if they all 4 survive the thaw.

rlk - YEAH!!! I'm glad everything is going well. That should help you rest a little easier. Smurf pee??? ROTFL!!! That's funny.

hms - Welcome!!! I know it's so hard. Please post more, so we can get to know you and your schedule. It looks like you had a really hard year last year. This year WILL be better!!! Do you have any frosties from your first cycle?

rayofsunshine - Awesome that you already chose your donor!!! I'll have to keep following you on the boards, b/c I'm just so excited for you! Smurf pee for you too, huh? Isn't it lovely?
