Hi Ladies,

sorry I have been MIA for a while. I have been having those lupron headaches everyone was talking about. They are horrible :( Headaches and insomnia were the only side effects but that is enough. I am going to have to catch up with my reading in order to do personals. I see so much has been going on since I last logged in. I hope everyone is doing well and staying positive. I go in for my u/s and b/w this morning at 8am and hopefully can start stims. :D

Since I am wide awake, I am going to try to read everyones post on the board for the last 7 days and try and catch up.

I will update soon, God bless everyone :D

Hello ladies, hope everyone is doing well. it's just one day and I can't believe there're tons to read, from bleeding to over. from sad to PMA, and from going to ET to official PUPO. I'm waiting for AF now before I can go to RE for baseline stick and stir after my last BFN. Can ladies do the 'start-AF' dance for me please?

Sara: Glad to have a DE IVF buddy. Congrats of finding a donor. My donor is also just turned to 23. When are you going to cycle?

rlk1: Sorry for your rude RE. My RE is very nice but can be very mean too when he melt down. Both DH and I became speechless and didn't know how to approach him. But congrat to AF finally gone. yay.

Franny: Congrats to AF come. Hope the cramping is gone. o/w, drink plenty of hot water or liquid and avoid citrus like OJ. I just read this. Yay. you start stimming tonight. Glad to hear it. GL and crossing fingers for you. BTW, what kind of fertility do you drink?

Katie: Yay> Glad to hear the water is finally coming and you have hot water to use. Hope the plumber don't have to come back anymore.

claud662: Sorry, it's really hard to hear someone especially your SIL to be pregnant while you're still fighting for it. Hope you understand that it's not your fault. and it's true that nobody can do anything about it except to keep trying until it's your time, and same as everyone's here. I have felt sad through out the years seeing my 2 youngest sisters' pregnant, my DH's niece's pregnant before married, and all the church's friends of my age got pregnant. don't take me wrong, it hurts. but i know since I have no control, i'll either stay away or go for it knowing that as long as I keep trying, it will come one day. Also, don't try to blame yourself because your DH wants to have baby before age 30. If he doesn't blame you, you don't have to. If he did, tell him that it's out of your control. It's not something you did wrong. xoxo

lou71: Congrats to your PUPO. it's interesting to hear that taking chinese food after transfer helps. Did your RE say specifically what kind of chinese food?

samgarkay: sorry for the pain of the left ovary. Did you try to let him know it hurts so that he remembered that there're nerves in there?

gi: Glad to hear the nausea is gone. The hiccup on the other night had already made me unable to sleep.

moorebaby: Hope AF come at the time you want. Sorry for the RE's mean word telling your DH's sperm grade is 1. crossing fingers for you to get BFP this time.

baby hopes: GL and hope the pain meds really work.

DandMe: Lucky you can get maturnity leave benefit right after the law change last year. This is it.

bethanyneedsluck: what did your RE say about your huge cyst? sometimes cyst can be drained. can you ask him?

Riley baby maybe: My RE said that as long as 8 or above, it's good. Even if 7+ is also fine. He told us that what 8 means is including round up. Glad you find a matching RE.

gi: Sounds like Ireland really cold. I'm in San Diego and the lowest in our area is usually around 40+F. But in the past few weeks, thanks god we'd been so warm or hot, around 70-80F. Until yesterday, when I took my dog to pee at the frond yard, he ran back home immediately instead of walking around the yard as usual. I then checked the temp outside and it's 40+F again. Hope the snow leave you soon.

hms: Welcome aboard. you're in the right group. there're many support that you can get here.

thanks everyone for the welcome. I'll do my best to read up so i can post personals. this is actually my first message board, despite all the treatments, so i probably have a learning curve.

currently i'm on bravelle, menopur, lupron, and DHEA. but let me back up - all my previous treatments were injectibles, and my 4th IUI was actually a downgraded IVF due to (of all things) insurance. frustrating! I have a lot of reservations about the amount of drugs i've put into my body...it just doesn't feel right and i worry about what it could do to a child and / or me in the long term. that said, my husband would really prefer a bio child, so we're going for it one more time. i think i've always been open to adoption, and this past year has sort of cemented that for me. it just doesn't feel worth it to me to put all this time and anxiety and money toward something if ultimately what you want is to parent (as opposed to conceive). and don't get me wrong, i think my husband is gorgeous and i'd love to have a little mini-him running around. i think infertility just makes you re-examine your desires and goals - and that's actually the best thing to come out of this whole roller coaster. in the meantime, I ditched my RE from last year as his office was a total cattle farm and on top of all my other stressors, I just felt like he was in it for the money and success rates. i sometimes waited 2 hours to be seen, and then only had 2 minutes with him. this was every other day! so i'm with a new RE who is not affiliated with a hospital, and it's much calmer and relaxing. he's a big proponent of the hormone DHEA for women with DOR, so i've been taking it for 5+ weeks.

okay, i'm using way too much space so i'll wrap up. Last thing: i did acupuncture and herbs all summer and fall and loved it - it definitely helped regulate my cycle and if i thought there was a chance we could conceive naturally, we'd definitely continue on that route, but it's clear at this point it's IVF or nothing if we're going to have a bio baby.

also - i'm in nyc and must find that drink!

Hi everyone -

Boy, my body just keeps getting weirder responses all the time - it seems I have AF again - I just had AF 14 days ago! What now? So I call the nurse
and she says, no problem. Umm I hope so because this is how the last cycle started my body seems to just ignore the estrace. This time its 3x day instead of 2x day - but I dont get it. I thought the estrace was helping to build up my lining, why does my body insist on shedding it? Guess even just 10 days of BCP had an effect?

Babyhopes - Ugh! could Jacho have picked a worse week? Sorry, the tension level goes up just mentioning them! Whoo hooo for ER next week!
Sounds like your follies are coming along nicely though!

Rlk1 -Whew! good riddance to your AF - bet that was nerve wracking - Whee! you are close now!

Bethany -Sorry for the 3w delay

Riley -Wish my RE had a sense of humor! In the 15 months with this RE - I have only gotten him to laugh like twice! Its sort of become a quest. I dont think he breaks his professional stance often, because the first time it happened the nurses had to high five me when he left the room! Monica? with a bit of Chandler mixed in? Sounds like myself. Now how many follies do you have? Too many to count? Wow - can you send me some? go on girl!

Gi -Yeah, snow is fun for about a day - I'm so sick of looking at it by now! My dog will only take the pill if its wrapped in a slice of ham - kind of funny but not if we run out of ham! If not she'll wait til you leave the room and spit it out too. What characters they are!

hms -Welcome! I'll keep my fingers crossed that the other follies catch up - I always have problems with dominant follies also - frustrating!
Thats why my Re decided to try me with ivm - ER while they're all still small before the big ones suck up all the meds and ruin a cycle - wishing you the best of luck! and even growth vibes! :D

Claudia -Yay for lupron! Well, YAY for getting started - no yay for needles  Wow it sounds like your job is really going to to have a hard time when you're on mat leave - oh well, they'll have to figure it out since it'll be a BFP this time!

Franny -Whoo Hoo! Let the roller coaster begin! I have everything crossed for you that an Antagonist protocol will do the trick this time! Dont you just love those early Sun morning appts? Franny, really? Adam Sandler's mom up the street? Oh, I'd keep an eye out for when he comes to visit! Love him! But would of course have to ask hin who is picking his movie roles lately? Zohan? Really?

Dodo -I'll do the AF STOMP for you, doll! San Diego is famous for its beauty and perfect weather year round! 40 degrees? Whats going on?

hugs and prayers to all of us! - xoxo

Wow... lots for me to catch up on in the past two days!

Katie
-- The AF is totally normal when you stop BCP's. I had AF, started pills for a couple of weeks, stopped the pills, and had AF again the next day. I overlapped Lupron for two days with the BCP's and then began the Estrace once a day for 3d, twice a day for 3d, then three times a day thereafter until transfer. I think what you're going through is totally expected. Your lining WILL build. Mine was at 14 mm a couple of weeks later when I went back. Don't worry!!! But, Yay for hot water! I can't imagine what a horrible inconvenience that was for you. And you are NOT annoying... you made me giggle, which is good. Thanks for keeping up the tracker. Do you still have your schedule you've posted on more than one occasion of what happens after a 3dt & 5dt? Can I ask you to post it one more time?? Thanks!

Gi -- Six month maternity leave... holy cow! Is that the norm in Ireland? By law we can take a 12 week Family/Medical Leave but at my company, I don't get paid except for what I have as vacation time (maybe 4 weeks).

Baby hopes -- Your E2 seems to be rising nicely! Grow follies grow! Good luck with your Joint Commission survey. I'm the Clinical Manager of a hospital pharmacy department, so I know your pain.

DandMe -- Hey, if the Chinese food works, then I say it's a great tradition to pass around. It may be a bit placebo effect, but the PMA can't hurt, right?

hms -- Welcome! Thanks for sharing your journey. You've sure been through a lot and you'll find lots of support here.

Claudia -- I'm sooo excited for you to get your FET schedule as well. You've got 11 frosties... wow! That's great! I wish I had some more, but I only had 6 eggs retrieved. I'm lucky I ended up with 3 embies from that.

rlk1 -- My day of leisure was OK. I don't like laying around too much so it was sorta hard for me to stay off my feet for that long. I watched Duplicity with Julia Roberts and Clive Owen and Away We Go with Maya Rudolph. Both were very good movies.

Franny -- How's the accupuncture going? Exactly where do they stick the needles? I'm considering it if this FET doesn't work, but I don't know what I'm getting myself into. I have a chiropractor friend who is licensed to do accupuncture, but she just does my arms, legs, hands, feet, etc.

bethanyneedsluck -- I'm sorry about your cyst. I had a cycle cancelled because of a cyst before and it stinks but it's better to cancel and get it all right to increase your chances of success. A three week delay isn't so bad. Your cyst should definitely be gone by then. At my next appt after the cyst, RE told me he was wearing his "no cyst tie" and sure enough... there was no cyst!

Riley baby -- Yes, unfortunately I did go back to work the day after ET. We had a snow storm and it took me 3 hours to get to work (normally 50 minutes). Then I worked 10 hours, and drove 1.5 hours home. So I left the house at 7AM and got home just before 10PM. Thank goodness DH had dinner ready for me! Other than being tired from yesterday, I feel waaaay too normal. No symptoms at all, except a sore butt from the PIO!

rayofsunshine -- I'm excited for you that you found such a great donor! March isn't that far off. If I don't get a BFP this time, I will likely be with you again on that board. Either way, I will follow you along for your BFP!!!

msmac -- So sorry you've been suffering with Lupron headaches! I feel so lucky that I didn't have them, especially since I was in Vegas while on the Lupron. How many more Lupron days do you have before you start stimming?

dodo -- Well, RE just mentioned to us that Chinese food is what he and his wife had after their ET and it worked.... I don't think it's scientific. He wasn't specific about what he ordered but we had hot and sour soup and general Tso's chicken!

AFM -- OK, I'm 2dp6dt... taking 1.5 ml PIO and 2mg Estrace twice daily. I feel very normal. Nothing. No cramping, twinges, spotting, or anything. But I'll keep you posted if that changes. I'm trying not to think about it too much and keepig busy helps. Not sure if I'll POAS or not. I know it's too early at this point anyway. We'll see.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Hi All,

Sorry I don't get to post much. The little one is always breaking my concentration !!!!!! I have been trying to keep up somewhat with you all writing.

LOU - Congrats !!!!! You are preggers, I just know it :D After my FET we went to cracker Barrell the best salty food ever. I know they say to get bedrest right away but I figured what will be will be. Then I had come home and resided on the couch. I did get a BFP that cycle, which did end in miscarriage though. When I was preggo with my DD I craved salty food all the time.Wonder why I have high blood pressure now   Rest up and take it easy, make DH do everything !!!!!!!

Gi - Sounds like you guys are havin a blast in the snow. How much did you get ? We just got about another 2 inches . We can deal with that a couple weeks ago had 2 feet almost, it was soooo much fun. DD went sledding with other little girls, I wish I was a kid again  I think we are goin to have lots of snow this winter, we have a snow blower we'll get alot of use out of it. Yeah, can't believe 6 months maternity leave. I had to go out early on maternity cause of Tachycardia and hypertension borderline pre-eclampsia. I had a C-section DD was stuck, just my luck right ? I had to go back to work 7 weeks after having her. I went out 5 weeks early and they actually count that. C-SECTION is a major surgery had 20 staples in my belly. If that was expected of a man it would NEVER happen!!!!!

bethanyneedsluck - I'm also waiting to cycle. I'm waiting on my AF. I had a miscarriage a month ago, AF doesn't want to arrive. I might have to go on meds soon to bring it on. Sorry to hear about your cyst, I remember that happening to me one of my first cycles it resolved itself but it still wastes time and is very annoying.

AFM - Still waiting on AF  Better go, getting new carpet installed today :D DD needs lunch, I'll try to catch up more later.

Hi ladies!

Just got home a little while ago from my RE apt and the bad news is that I had the WORST cramps ever from the saline ultrasound when I got home which forced me to lay in bed for half an hour but the GOOD news is that I'm ready to begin my cycle and the RE is 100% confident that I will get pregnant (if not this FET than in NEAR future!!

My cycle schedule is as follows;
Lupron 1/9
Stop BCP 1/12
Baseline & Estrace 1/15
ET 1/31 or 2/1 depending on lining
Beta 2/11 or 2/12

Hopeing this cycle will be my Valentine treat!!

Will do personals later...

Sorry for no personals, just a quick stop in...

CLAUD - YAY!!! I am so excited for this positive news. Valentines Day is perfect. And Lupron starts tomorrow...I can't wait to see you get your BFP!! You are in my thoughts, my friend. Oh, I cramped SO bad after mine (and leaked saline all day) I absolutely hated it and had to go to work right after.

AFM - The nurse called last night and instructed me to decrease my Follistim to 25 last night & 25 tonight. Guess it was still pretty high, but I didn't ask the number!
Me - 32 - no issues
DH - 36 - low count
1st IVF - Jan 2010 - BFP! - Gorgeous girl arrived 10/08/10!!

YEA.... Nurse just called, we are a go for stims 1/9 last brusing Lupron tonight. My E2 was less than 20. Next stick and stir is the 13th. Happy dance is even making my cramps better. I think we should all eat Chinese food!!!!! Yea Lou!!!!! What did your fortune cookie say????

I have trouble keeping up with post strings but from what I can tell ( cause a fabulous fairy keeps track ) I have a lot of company in the "starting stims dept" this weekend.
Blessing to all and keep on poking :D

PS. It's snowing AGAIN !!!! If only it would snow baby dust, now that would be cool.

Back to work....

Misocial -- Oh, yeah... thanks for reminding me! My fortune cookie said "That which your heart desires will soon be yours" (or something really close to that). DH's said that all his dreams would come true very soon. I commented to him how appropriate those fortunes were but he said "they all say something like that. Have you ever opened a fortune cookie that said "you're going to have a shitty day with lots of bad luck"?Good point. :? Good luck with those stims!

If we all eat Chinese food on ET day, then we can see if we can beat the 30% odds to see if there's really something to this Chinese food thing! LOL

And so we hope...
