Hello ladies, after zooming in the page makes me love to read more. before, the font was just too small and packed for me. it just didn't ring a bell that I can zoom in even on IE besides Microsoft Office. i try not to believe that I'm getting older but I am.

hms: My DH also like to have his bio child but I am open to adoption either. I like parenting more than conceiving but I know we would not be able to afford surrogacy fee. We also get a very good deal from my current RE after the last BFN cycle. I just feel a sign that I have to work hard and keep trying. Best wishes and GL to your cycle.

Franny: Thanks for the info of the tea. I googled T Salon and found the closest one is in West Hollywood of Los Angeles. Does the fertility tea have any caffeine? Thanks. :)

Katie: I guess it's true that estrace supposed to thicken the lining. My current RE had me put estrogen patches and estrace at the same time to make sure it would not shed. My last RE will use only patches to complete the cycle. And the previous previous RE will put me on Estrace only but it didn't work. San Diego's weather maybe better than the rest of the country. But because of climate change like Mr. Gore said, San Diego has been like this since I moved here 10 years ago. :)

Lou : I know someone who is pregnant and complaining no symptoms since ET. How nice you received such an appropriate fortune cookie. how funny of what your DH said. but not too nice.

jenice: Hope AF come>

claud662: YAY. GL to your cycle.

bei my OBGYN told me if I have only one partner, I actually don't have to do the peps test.

Hope ladies living in the cold area keep warm and best wishes for all going to stim and cycle and everyone going to be BFP. xoxo

All right then - I give up trying to keep up with you all! Do you ladies type in your sleep too? All I did was shovel out the driveway again - and theres a whole new page!

hms & beth - do you all know when your ERs are expected?

D&M -When do you start stims?

jenice -Ack! its so frustrating when AF wont show up! Oooh, I would love new carpets! What colors did you choose?

Claudia -I'm sorry that your saline sono was so painful! But YAY for schedule! thanks for putting your schedule in an easy format - it makes it easier for me! :D It will be a special Valentine's day - my 2nd anniversary will on the 16th so I'm kinda hoping for good news right around then...

Misocial -Hooray for poking yourself every day! wait that didnt sound right.. yay stims!

lou -all this talk of chinese food has me craving it badly now...
You got it, Chinese food on the night of ET - actually i want it right now...

Bei -Hi! :D long time, no see. I was wondering where you've been.
How is the new RE? Do you like this one better? I dont think that a cycle would interfere with a pap smear, but you should ask your clinic to be sure. I'll do the hurry up AF dance for you too!

Gi -I think my dog knows the pills are hidden in the ham slice, I just think she cant resist ham so she deals with it. Now the 2 large antibiotics, those I have no choice but to shove down her throat - and get the sad face afterwards...

Dodo -Get some sun for me! 8) There hasnt been any in NY for a while

I had chinese for dinner, all the talk made me crave it. I think AF is coming on after I ate the chinese food, is that funny or what !!!!! I think after my ET I'll be goin back for more chinese. I didn't get any fortune cookies, huh ?????

Katie - My carpet looks great. It is a sandy color berber carpet called freze. It kinda looks like a short shag, it is so pretty :D Our other carpet was 12 years old and looked every minute of it. I wanted hard woods but this is awesome.I have a butterscotch hardwood in my foyer and kitchen and would have liked to of continued with it but very expensive. It is nice to have something new, to start a new awesome year. Now I would love to have a baby crawling all over my nice beautiful carpet :D

I have chinese food every day but AF hasn't come yet. Can cold symptoms delay AF to come?

Katie: I forgot to say 40F is at night time only. We have sun now and is 84F but was 70F yesterday. I get used to live in very hot temperature in summer during night time but not in Los Angeles or San Diego.

jenice- i had chinese for dinner tonight too, lol! all this talk & a teacher eating it for lunch the other day really got me craving it. so funny! however, i hope af doesn't come until tuesday. yes, if a man had to go through this & then the 9 months & then delivery...our population would be so low that humans would die off.

gi- the sound of no work for 6 months sounds great to me too!

lou71- you're getting closer to your bfp...can't wait! keep up the pma. my fingers are crossed.

riley baby maybe- only 5 more days until your er....so exciting! sounds like you're making lots of nice-size follies.

claud622- that is so reassuring hearing that from your re. that must have made you feel really good.

turtle0619/franny- thanks for the info on the tea. i'll have to look it up. how was your 1st gonal-f shot? grow follies grow!

msmac- so sorry about the headaches & the insomnia. i hope things get better soon! how was your appointment today? are you ready to start stims?

rayofsunshine- aren't delays & cancellations great? i teach in ct...we had 2 delays this week. dh says i'm worse than my students. i guess we're spoiled a little. great info on your donor.

hms- welcome! so sorry to heat about your ttc past. i hear you about ultimately wanting to be parents. whatever path you & dh choose, i wish you the best of luck. this is a wonderful place for support & advice.

afm....1st of all, thank you for no af until tuesday dances. i really hope they work. dh & i spoke & we decided that i shouldn't ask for anything that would delay af...i know some of you had mentioned it. they way we look at it is if it's meant to happen this month, then i'll get af on tuesday or later. if i get it before, that is a reason....maybe it was meant to be now & will next month. it's not in my hands. i can't believe i'm saying that as i'm a little bit of a control freak, lol! anyways, about to go eat some of my crab rangoons & check out my fortune cookie.

baby dust all around!!!

I am very new to this ivf procedure.....i am taking each day one at a time, but we are approaching egg retrieval in 5 days....Jan 13th. I don't know anyone close who has gone through this procedure and it has been hard wanting to ask a million questions but having noone there to answer. We are praying this works for us and hoping success to all others out there going through this emotional experience!

Hi everyone,

Lou71 since you will be our first BFP and you had the Chinese food, I’m sure I will be getting some next. All my fingers and toes are crossed for you. :D

Moorebaby- even though we are all doing the no AF dance until Tuesday, you and your DH have the right attitude. Everything happens for a reason and always continue to thing positive.

Rileybabymaybe- grow follies grow!! You are so close to you ER! :D

Katie99- how are you handling all that snow? I hope you spoke with your RE to reassure you that the Estrace is doing what its suppose to.

Jenice- your carpet sounds like it is beautiful, especially since you said it matches the butterscotch hardwood floors. Doing an AF chant for you :D

Dodo928- I wish the weather was like that here in Alabama, its freezing. I love warm weather. Doing an AF chant for you too :D

Misocial and Claud622- how are your stims going?

Sorry I didn’t get to everyone. My DH will be calling me from Afghanistan in a few minutes so I had to make this short.

AFM: I had baseline and blood work today. They said everything looks great and I start my follistem tonight 300IU. Then starting tomorrow, they dropped my lupron to 10u in AM and I follistem 150IU AM and PM until Tuesday when I go back for another u/s and b/w.

Okay ladies, have a good nite. My DH is on the phone

CAL4242: I am new to IVF as well but you have come to the right place. Some of the ladies on this board and others I'm sure have been through what we are going through and some. You are ahead of me with your retrieval date. I just started my stims today. MY ER is for Jan 18th. Your doing the right thing by taking it one day at a time and you have come to the right place for support. Stay positive and you can ask your million questions on here :D Someone will try and answer them Im sure

God bless :D

Hi Ladies,

I think I just gave myself an extra 75 IU of follistem  Is there supposed to be medicine left over in each vial? Well, mine did after I thought I used 300 IU of the 300IU vial last night. So this morning, I was to drop to 150IU twice a day. I assumed  there was only 50 IU left in the vial since the package said 350. Anyways, I dialed up the 150 anyways as it said, stuck myself, pressed the pen and it didn't go all with way down which I expected. But now it said 25IU left when it should say 100IU. I said that can't be right because the box says 350 on it. So I put in another cartridge and dialed up 100IU.

So with that said, I think the vials contain more than what the box said. I won't make the same mistake tonight.

Hopefully i did not mess up anything.

mrsmac: The pens are all over filled. If you look at a carton it will tell you by how much. My office showed me this and showed me how to use each drop as lets face it, it's liquid gold! The office had given me some Follistim, but I ended up with free Gonal-F, so I returned the Follistim, so I can't say how much extra there is, but the Gonal-F 300 iu pen is filled with 415. That gives you an idea of how much extra there is. I am sure one over medication won't hurt much though you may let the office know, but in the future do the same thing, but trust what it says you have left to give. I am sure it happens all the time.

katie99: I started stims 1/3 and will likely have my ER on 1/13 or 1/4 depending on my dominant follies. yes, now it's two. went for my sono this AM and while the big ones aren't growing as rapidly (good sign as the little ones may be able to catch up), there are now two - one on the left, one right. what is IVM?

dodo: we wouldn't have the money for a surrogate, either. that's why i think we'd go right from IVF to adoption, where at least there's a guarantee that a child will come out of all that $$! I'm going to do my best in the next two weeks not to focus on what we'll do if it doesn't work, and focus on what we'll do if it does. we're going on a family vaca to India in February which is kind of a huge curve ball esp given all the travel vaccinations they want me to take, which i won't be taking if i'm preggers.

mrsmac: don't worry about having 75 extra iu in one shot. are you doing 1 or 2 a day? i would def tell your RE, but I'm sure he/she will say it's fine.

lou: thanks for the note. what are you doing to distract yourself this week? (apart from reading everything you can about symptoms...ah yes, I remember that well). very exciting! it might be a good idea to find a fertility-based acupuncturist - someone who's been trained in how the kidney/spleen/heart yin and yang affect your fertility, and what you can do in addition to the acupuncture to help bring them into balance. i had no idea for instance, that my kidney yang was out of whack and that little things like no iced drinks and wearing socks while I sleep actually helps...

moorebaby: thanks to you, too, for the note. I am also a control freak, but it sounds like you guys are doing the right thing by just rolling with AF. I'll be hoping she keeps her distance 'til tuesday.

franny: I will try and hit Chelsea Market this week and report back. do you know if the teas are okay to drink the week of ER / ET? I know they don't like you taking chinese herbs when you're cycling. i have an acupuncture appt for Monday night...2 days before possible ER, and hope to make another one for the day of ET.

claudia: jealous of your frozen follies. and your RE's confidence is so encouraging!

Hi all!

Whew--it took me forever to get caught up with you girls! So much has happened in these last few days!

lou71: 6 more days until your Beta (but who's counting!)! BTW, I had absolutely NO symptoms when I got my BFP with my DS. I'm thinking of you!

Riley baby maybe: Hmmmm....if we're talking Friends, I guess I'd be Joey since I feel SOOOO dumb ever since I started taking Estrogen!! How are things going? When's your next stick-n-stir?

hms: Welcome! I also often wonder what all these drugs might be doing to me in the long run, but I find comfort in the fact that there hasn't been any studies linking the drugs with adverse health outcomes. So your transfer is next week? Mine should be too, if all goes well!

claud662: Your RE is 100% confident you'll get preggo?!? That's awesome! Can't get much better than that!! Woo-hoo!

rayofsunshine: So exciting that you picked your donor--in only 25 mins too---double bonus! I'll be checking up on you in March!

turtle0619: I'm in Northern VA--near Dulles airport. So you went from VA to MI to NH? Any chance you might move back south? How's the stimming coming along? I have an early appt tomorrow too. Like you said, "LAME!!!"!

J&C: How's the Estrogen treating you? I feel really bloated--almost as if I were going through IVF not an FET. Do you feel that way at all?

bethanyneedsluck: Stalk all you want! We want to hear from you too!

msmac: Did you call your nurse about taking a little extra Follistem? Just curious because my DH gave me a little extra Estrogen (IM injections) by mistake the other night. I didn't call my nurse--maybe I should have....

dodo928: Doing the "start AF" dance for you as I type ("start-AF" cha, cha, cha)!

katie99: I had the same issue---darn that Estrogen---doesn't it know that it should behave as it's intended?!? My AF, thankfully, stopped. Has yours?

moorebaby: Love the attitude--wish I could be more like you! I totally FREAK out if I'm not in control. I'm sure you're shocked and surprised to hear this based on my past posts!.

misocial: How are the stims treating you?

jenice: Any sign of AF?

bei: Good to hear from you! I imagine a pap smear before you cycle is fine---my clinic actually asked for one. What does your nurse say?

gi: Glad you could take advantage of the snow days and relax a little. Too bad we can't drink right now---how great would a glass of wine in your nice warm bath be?

CAL4242: Welcome! I'll be thinking of you on Wednesday!! Keep us posted!

AFM...I go for my lining-check tomorrow morning. If all goes well, I'll start PIO injections and my transfer will be on Friday. CRAZINESS!! I hope you all are having a nice weekend!

Hi girls -

Just a quick one since Dh is bringing back Chinese food - since we all kep talking about it - just had to have it

jenice -oooh a sandy berber thats sounds gorgeous! It sounds like the color I want - but with 1 elderly dog and 1 puppy - well new carpet will just have to wait for now. Did AF show?

Msmac -Hooray for getting started! I've never used Follistim, but have heard that they're slightly overfilled through the forums. Dont be afraid to lean on all of us for support during stims & the dreaded 2ww - its hard enough to go through in the first place, but with your DH overseas - it must be even worse. We are all here for you. Grow lots of follies! :D

hms -I've got my fingers crossed that your smaller follies catch up!
I've had 3 cycles ruined thanks to a dominant follie. IVM stands for in vitro maturation. My RE is sort of "experimenting" by trying this on me, its really meant for PCOS patients or those at risk of hyperstim (OHSS) Since I'm also a DOR, I've never had more than 5 eggs at ER, so since every egg counts, they will do ER after just 5 days of stims then finish maturing them in the lab, then fert & ET like normal. RE feels that this will help because I always end up with a dom follie or 2, so hopefully this will work and for a change we wont have to sacrifice the rest of the smaller ones. It may be an idea for you also it this cycle is bfn. But you wont need to worry - I'm sure this time it will be BFP all around! :D

rlk1 -Is the estrogen not agreeing with you? I've never heard of it being given IM before - you poor thing! Yes, was a quick 2 day AF. Alright, I'm crossed for your lining check tomorrow! And now you'll add in PIO to the mix? Oh, lots of fun.

Franny -Where are you? How goes the stims? Crossed for your b/w tomorrow too! Let us know how it goes. :D

hugs & prayers to us all! - xoxo

Hello

Post by latrell22 »

...I have no idea what I'm doing...I meant to reply and not create a new topic. Here is my previous post:
Hi everyone! Please forgive me as I am not familiar with all the terminology of the IVF board. But I am very excited to be here and to see that I'm not alone. This will be my first IVF cycle. I should be starting my medication towards the end of the month. I know that each doctor is different but unlike some of you, I won't have to take BCPs. I will just be starting my meds on day 3 of my cycle. I'm both anxious and nervous at the same time and I find myself reading about IVF all the time! So, with that said, any information that anyone can give about the cycle would be great. Like some of you, I too have suffered a loss after I had my 1st child who is 7 now and it took me a while to bounce back from it.
