When it makes your ticker choose the BBcode from the "forum" list. Once you copy and paste that into your signature line erase everything before the first [img] and then delete everything after the last [img] (I think all it says is [url]) Good luck! It took me forever!

Sportsmom I went back and was reading your post. You said your doc wasn't happy that you had gained 18 lbs?? How far along are you? That seems pretty typical and healthy. I was 25 wks 5 days at my last appointmnt and have gained 17 lbs. Of course, I'm having twins, but she would still like to see more. I guess I just think 18 lbs isn't bad. If you're like the rest of us you are starting your 3rd trimester, when weight gain slows just a tiny bit and that still leaves you 12 lbs to be right in the normal range!

thanks lw918! It finally worked..geez!

yes, at my 24 week checkup I had gained 18 lbs so far. The doctor said normal weight gain is betwen 25-35 lbs for the entire pregnancy and at the rate I'm going he thinks I may go over that limit. Whatever! I wasn't a big person to begin with. I totally believe that 10pds of it is in boobs. LOL! My weight gain had been pretty good up until the holidays. All those Christmas parties and everyone bringing in junk to the office everyday. And now we have Valentines around the corner. Oh no!

U girls are all doing great in the weight dept. Last wk's appt i had gained a total of 20lbs and got a scolding from the dr. She said i was 5lbs over the limit. What the heck! So i went home and had a cupcake for dessert. LOL. I thought i was doing pretty good. Will see what happens from now on.

Anyone had their gestational diabetes test yet? I'm going in on sat for it. I will be 28 wks then. Hope it turns out to be ok.

BabiesGalore- Ever since that appt it seems that the baby is hungrier even more and craving terrible sweets! I have my glucose test Feb. 5th at my 28 week appt. I'm very nervous about it because diabetes runs in my family. My mom has diabetes and my oldest sister was diagnosed with gestational diabetes at age 38 with her 3rd baby. Now she's diabetic too. I hope it turns out great for you. Good luck!

Hi gals! I'm not worried about the weight gain whatsoever. At first my doc was concerned I wasn't gaining enough, but the last 8 weeks I put on 10 pounds, which he was VERY happy about. So now I'm 16 pounds up.

I have another question for you all: Are you going to stay home with the baby and not work...and if so, for how long? Those of you who are going back to work, how long are you planning on taking off? I feel myself getting apprehensive about this.

Hey ladies!!!! Good to see that things have picked up on this thread this past week. :D

I have gained 20 lbs total so far, and from everything I have read, that is right within the target range at this stage. Would I like it to be only a 15 lb gain, sure, but WHATEVER!!!

tortilla - I'm a teacher, and I am taking the rest of the school year off when I have her, plus the summer, so I will have 4 months off with her before I go back to work. I have more than enough sick days to cover the last quarter of the school year, so we won't miss a beat financially. We couldn't afford to lose income, so this works out beautifully for us.

I've only gotten one leg cramp so far, and I thought I was going to DIE!!!!! It was so awful, and I too was sore for a couple of days. You should see how I have to rig my side of the bed. My husband looked up/over at me this morning and said, "It's like we're in bunk beds!" LOL!!!! That has helped my nighttime hip pain for the most part though, so yay!!!

We have her room all set up with the crib, dresser/changer combo, and the chest of drawers (thanks in-laws!!!). My shower is on January 30. The ladies throwing it wanted to have it in February, but the both of them had conflicts each weekend that month, and they didn't want to have it in March because that's pushing a little too close to my due date. So, the 30th it is. I am SO excited. :-) I did have a moment of panic at my most recent appointment this week. I was hit with the reality of it all. SHE WILL BE HERE IN LESS THAN THREE MONTHS!!!! What if I drop her? What if she doesn't feed well or I have trouble with my milk supply? What if I suck at being a mom???? LOL then I calmed down. I am just thrilled and cannot wait to meet her. I am so happy for all of us! I found a potential, wonderful in-home daycare near the new school I am going to next school year, and we are meeting with her Tuesday. She's only licensed for up to 8 kids, so it's small. YIPEE!!!! It's all coming together!

Dogzrule: 20 pounds is fantastic!! Your job situation is perfect...that's a great amount of time to stay home. I bet your relieved that the nursery is all set up for her...it makes it sooo much more real. I understand too about your panic moment!!! I've been having a few of those now and then for different reasons...but I tend to calm myself down after a little bit ;-)

I feel like I'm the only one who has all these questions: Are any of you feeling super full lately after you've eaten a normal sized meal? I'll eat and then 6 hours later I'm still feeling super full!!! The doc said that as I move into the third trimester, I would get full easier because of the baby getting bigger and needing more space. Weird!!!

Dogz: 20lbs is awesome. I've gained 23 pounds as of friday. LOL. But i really am not eating more than before. So not sure how these pounds are getting latched on. Ah well. So awesome about the nursery. Our furniture won't even come till end Feb beg March. Hope the baby stays put till the furniture is all set up. I am asking myself the same questions as u. How do i bathe her, feed her, change her..endless but as a friend told me..it all comes naturally. so i hope so.

Tia: am planning to take off for 4 months. Have 3 months of annual and sick and then one month of LWOP. I would have loved to take off for 6 months but that is not an option for us at this point. Still on wait list for two day cares. If i don't hear anything by april, i may just look into nanny share or home day care till i get in.

Had my gestational diabetes test on sat so now wait for the results.

Hugs to all.

Hi all

It sounds like everyone is doing well. I really love sharing this experience with you all.

In terms of all the questions we have I brought a great book this weekend that explains so much. Itwas from mothercare.

Our little boy is very active at the moment and I love it!. The only problem is my back but I can cope with this.

I am counting down the weeks at work now. I leave 6 weeks on friday. I will be off work for nearly 8 months and return on the 1st of November.

Take care all and role on April. I can't wait to see all the photos of the new babies.

Wow, I cant believe how many posts were wrtitten. I could hardly keep up. I really appreciate coming on here and sharing stories with everyone. It seems we are all experiencing a lot of the same feelings about Motherhood.

The closer I get, the more I feel that I may just be a stay-at-home mom. I will probably pursue my Masters since that is in the evenings and weekends but I really think I will be home with my daughter for the next couple years. It will be a sacrifice finacially but we will manage.

So far I have gained 20 lbs but I was finally cleared to work-out, so I am hitting the gym again. Ugh, my arms... butt and legs are getting sooo flabby. YUCKY! I don't want to have to much weight to lose after the baby is here. Plus, I have really, really dry rough arms. I read it is called chicken skin. Oh, and my gorlfriend said after the baby is here... our hair will fall-out. Anyone still coloring/bleaching their hair? I wanted to for the shower but I am too scared.

My shower is next month and I just cant wait to see my family from out of state. Shower is Feb 6th. I had always dreamed of being able to have one of my own, I had thrown sooo many for friends.

I still just can't believe I am going to have a little girl to hold in my arms in 3 months.

February we are signed up for CPR, Lamaze, baby safety classes... another thing I am so excited to experience with my husband... Oh, I am just so thrilled that we are finally going to be parents. Yippee!!!!! :D

We too are going to all those childbirth classes next month! :-)

cressicaw- I never stopped highlighting my hair. I perish the thought of how I would look (plus I know too many people that kept right on doing it throughout their pregnancy).

Hey All!

tortillachip- after every meal I feel extremely full and cant eat large portions at one time. The food feels like it's sitting up high on my stomach. So after about 2 hours later, I'm hungry again and repeat the process all over.

As far as returning to work. I only have about 8 weeks of paid leave available and if I'm out longer than that I can file short term disability through my job. It only pays a small portion of my salary but it's something. So DH and I will just play it be ear and see what are finances look like after 8 weeks.

One good thing about having to return to work is my mom will be keeping the baby. That will save tons on daycare plus she'll get all the attention and loving to herself. :D

I just found out that i failed my 1-hr glucose test. Ugh! So now i have to go in for the 3 hr diagnostic test. Keeping my fingers cross that i pass that one.

Sportsmom: i am the same about the food. But i hear that is the best way to go.

Going for the childbirth class on Feb 7th and then will see if we want to take the infant care class. Prob will just read baby on the block or watch the DVD.

My stroller finally got shipped out today. So excited and can't wait to see it and try it out.
