tc4474 - OMG, twins, how exciting!!!! I can't remember, how many embies did you transfer, or did one split? I'm afraid I don't know about that wrist band, but a friend from these boards who is pregnant with twins (and due any week now!) swore by acupuncture for helping with her m/s. But I'm sure your RE wouldn't prescribe you something that wasn't safe to use! Ooooh, can't get over your news! Have you told people that you're pregnant yet, or are you saving the news until you get to 12 weeks?

Hi Hazel -
We transferred 2 blasts that were pretty good grade so we should have anticipated this! We are very happy though. We've only told close family and will tell everyone else after the first trimester (if I can hide it that long). How about you? Have you told many people yet?

Hi Ladies. CONGRATS to all of you on your BFP's and great pregnancies so far. Wonderful news about the TWINS in this group. What a blessing. I wish you all a Happy & Healthy 9 months....well more like 7 now for most of you lol.

Nothing going on with me. Still waiting for Beta to come down, so I can start the dreaded wait for AF to show up in 4-6 weeks (I hope). I go back in tomorrow for another beta check. It was 191 last Thursday, I hope I'm at zero but who knows anymore. It's torture.

Well bad news. My beta didn't come down this week. Hardly anyway. It was 186 from 191. So they are worried. I have to go back in tomorrow (another 2hr drive  ) for more b/w and an u/s to see what's going on. God I don't know what it could be. Left over tissue? They said I passed everything at my last u/s. Lord, I don't want a D & C. I'll have to wait even longer to TTC again.

Thanks tc.

Well i'm back and it's not such good news. There is still a part of the sac left, the RE presumes. We could see it right away as soon the tech started the u/s. I've been crying and very very sad. It sturs up all the emotions I went through 3 weeks ago.

They took 3 vials of blood, said they needed to test other things. The tech said they're doing all this as they might be giving me the injection Methotrexate to make me miscarry the rest. I couldn't stop crying. The Dr asked if I was sleeping ok and that I looked depressed & that he could give me something if I wanted. I told him I sleep fine and I don't want any drugs. He kept saying how strong of a woman I was. I told him "Oh I know.....that's one thing I hear allllll the time. I for sure carry that 'torch."

So now I wait for the afternoon phone call to see if my beta went down some or not. If so then he said he might have me take the time to pass it myself naturally and or he might go ahead and do the injection.

So again I wait.....

Thanks Supergenius.

Well it's done. They called and said my RE wanted me to get the shots. So I went 2hrs up the road again and the nurse gave me it. It should take about 2 days to start it's process. I'm not looking forward to cramps and pain, but I want this over with. I have to go back in on Monday to see if my beta has lowered more. Today it came back 175 from yesterdays 187.

I'm so exhausted, emotionally and physically. I cried so much today and didn't eat much. I'm home now and actually I have the shakes. My arms feel like spaghetti and my hands shake when I hold them up. I think my body is over the limit. Everything it's been through. I'm going to go rest.

God Bless.

Update

Post by Brooklyngirl »

Hi everyone,

First of all, a big mazel tov to everyone who is pregnant. I hope it is going well.

Second, Lorrie, I hope you are doing okay. It must be very difficult now, so stay strong.

Third, an update: I went to the doctor on Wednesday. He said that, given how the eggs developed, it was definitely an egg issue (something about 3N I think). At this point, since I am 42, he suggested giving it another try and then thinking about donor eggs. I feel ambivalent about that prospect. For those who have done it, how did you come around to the idea of donor eggs? How can anyone afford it?

I will probably try at the end of February or the end of March. I can't bring myself to start any earlier, given how traumatic the whole process has been.

Best wishes to everyone!

Lorrie - I'm so sorry to hear what a bad time you're having. I know you probably didn't want the injection, but at least that will resolve all this sooner, and then you can start to move forward again. I so hope today's beta shows that the levels are now reducing. You and DH are in my thoughts. ((((((((((hugs))))))))))

katie99 - yes, the wait until our first u/s is going really slowly, but we've only got three days to go now! And only one day until your baseline and three days until you start stims again, yippee! Are you getting excited yet??? My mind is being kept off the u/s most of the time by m/s, which kicked at with a vengeance at 6wks1day (bang on target!). I admit, I never thought that m/s would be this debilitating! I had visions of it being something which comes in waves, not something which is there 24 hours a day! You'll get to experience the joys soon enough!!! I'm having acupuncture tomorrow, and I'm hoping that will reduce it, but until then I'm struggling to function. I feel sick constantly, and in the mornings until about midday/1pm if I even stand up and walk around I start retching. It's horrible, but of course I'm not really complaining, because if I weren't pregnant I wouldn't be having it!

tc4474 - I've bought the motion sickness wristbands, they press on a particular acupressure point on the inside of the wrist which helps with nausea. It hasn't taken it away but has definitely made it a little better (I think!). In answer to your question, we have told a small number of family and close friends but like you, we're going to wait until we get to the 12 week mark before announcing the news any more widely.

Take care everyone,
Hazel
