Hey Ladies... since I was just in a holding pattern with BCP and nothing to really report I've been lurking and reading each post. I was anxious to hear how Lou was doing and am so so so sorry that things didn't work out this time. Also, misocial, sorry for the cancelled cycle.... you must be so heartbroken. I think it's lousy that they wait so long to tell you, maybe it's a tactic so you have to sleep on it and get yourself together before you speak to the doctors.

As for me... here's a copy of my post on the main board... gawd... I am already messing up..??

I got my initial calendar two weeks ago and was supposed to start my injects on the 15th. So for two weeks I'm thinking "the 15th, the 15th"...

I'm in a large city, alone, on four hours' sleep and they call me (while driving through downtown in a rental car)... I manage to pull over and they give me my doses... and what days to take them... the 16th, 17th, 18th....

After another five hour trip (my sister has cancer and i am taking the time to visit - she lives on Vancouver Island) I wearily come in, have dinner and bingo, give myself my first injection (because it's the 15th!).

I only realized it when I looked at the notes I joted down.

I'm pretty sure since it's so early that I haven't done any 'damage' but I'm asking for some input before I call them in the morning.

Will I skip the dose on the 16th and keep on the 17th and 18th, or keep taking them each day?

lou- i'm so sorry about your result. my heart goes out to you & dh. taking some time off to let your body & mind recover sounds like it's the best thing, but you do what you truly want to do. (((((hugs)))))

dandme- what are the injections of? i think you should be ok to just continue. i would definitely let your re know. maybe they'll lower your amount today & then have you go back to the regular amount....you should be fine though. it's the trigger shot that's important to take at a specific date & time. i'm so sorry to hear about your sister. i hope she's pulling through...sending lots of prayers her way.

marci (misocial)- i'm really sorry that your cycle got cancelled. unfortunately, sometimes it's a trial & error with this ivf stuff. now they know what doesn't work for you & will be able to customize your cycle especially for you. so if af is due on the 4th, you'll still be on this cycle board with us...yay! cry all you want & by the way, you are being normal if you get upset & sad. that is normal. don't think it's not. glad to see you're not giving up...pma, pma.

laurie (baby hopes)- yay, you're officially pupo!!! hope you enjoyed your chinese! now the 2ww begins. do you have any plans of how you'll keep yourself pre-occupied? 1.28 will be here before you know it! stick embies, stick! the et does stink...i hated the full bladder thing. they let me empty a little bit right before the et...i have the bladder of a 2 year old & i was basically in tears, it hurt so bad. but it was such a tease to empty it only a little bit. so are you ready for twins?

bei- i'm doing af somersaults for you. where the heck are you, you evil witch???

claudia- i'm sorry to hear about the headaches :-( hope they don't stay around for too long. let us know about tuesday's appointment.

samgarkay- i know what you mean about adding some humor to all of this. during my last cycle, when i started the pio shots, right before the er, the nurse drew big, black circles with a magic marker on my butt, so dh would know where to inject the pio. well, he thought it would be cute to add more drawings onto my butt & create a face. haha. what meds are you on? i remember when i started the ganirelix, which keeps the eggs from ovulating, i blew up. my ovaries felt like 10 pound weights. it was awful. can't wait to hear when you trigger.

katie- mmm...wine sounds good! i've cut out alcohol & caffeine since i started the follistim 2 days ago. man, it's hard, lol!. i like the 1s name thing.

rlk1- woohoo...you're pupo! pma, pma, pma! come on, do the pma chant! they wouldn't have done the transfer if they thought there was no chance. stick embies, stick!

beth- yay for the green light to trigger tonight! i'll be thinking of you on monday. hope they get lots of eggs!

roshaunda (msmac)- that's great that about your tentative er date.

paty- i can feel your excitement about your follies growing! i'm so hapy for you :-)

ronda (arabsrcool)- yay for your et being on tuesday! how many will you be transferring?

heather (hms)- that's great news about the 3 fertilizing! please keep us updated about the status of the embies as soon as you find out. grow embies, grow! you're right, every step you get through is like 1 step closer to getting off this crazy roller coaster.

baby hopes - I'm so excited for you :-) Take it easy this weekend
and sending you lots of hugs & prayers for twins;-) I hope you enjoyed your chinese food! My RE said that my endometriosis is feeding off the hormones thus the pain. I'm doing a bit better at managing it, but I do take Tylenol from time-to-time. After my appt. yesterday my shots remained the same 150UI of Menopur and Follistim in the AM, 300UI of Follistim in the PM & we started Ganirelix last night - not sure what to expect from Ganirelix.

Lou - so sorry :-( - will keep you in my prayers

beth84 - I hope your DH is home for the shots - I'm such a wimp- I have my husband do all of mine

Hi ladies. I have a quick personal question for someone who doesn't mind answering. After my SnS today we were given instructions for the sperm collection for the big day. It says lube is ok but only certain ones ask if you have questions. Well my dh doesn't want me to ask, but clearly a little lube is needed for the deed. Can someone tell me what your other half uses at the time of collection? TIA.

hi girls
sorry i went into hiding, but ive been on an emotional rollercoaster!

lou oh hun i am just so sorry!  ((((((((((lou))))))))))))
i'm so proud of you for already having a new plan! please know i am thinking of you and DH!

marci i am so sorry to hear you got canceled! trust me that me and katie totally know what evil things lupron can do to us. we have both been canceled due that that damn stuff more times then i want to say. please fight for no lupron for your next cycle...it will make all the difference! its ok to feel upset...i lost my mind for a few days last time i was canceled. i felt like i was mouring the death of my dreams...but please know this is only the begining, and just a little set back...everything will be great next cycle...most clinics use the first cycle as a very expensive learning curve.

babyhopes wooohooo your PUPO!!!! i am so happy for you!

rlk1 PUPO!!! WOOOOHOOOO soooo exciting! its so cool you and babyhopes are cycle twins!!! i cant wait to celebrate your BFP!!

claud hi hun! here i am..i know..i know...i like to torture you by going mia...
how are you feeling? man i hate those headaches! drink alot of water..that helped me a little! hang in there...it will all be worth it!

katie thank you for all of your crossing and wishing!! love ya! :D

beth wooohooo on trigger shot tonight....just ice your bum and it will be fine...the thought of it is actually worse then the actual shot! youre on your way!

afm ok well yesterday didnt go exactly like i thought it would...the doctor ended up only getting 4 follies, and out of the 4 follies..we only got 1 egg! when i woke up and my RE came to see me she told me that one of the big good follies she thought i had tricked her, and was actually a cyst from my endo filled with blood. sooo no follie in there. she ended up draining it when she was in there, and i got really sore from it. i was shocked that they only got 1 egg...i guess i looked shocked and upset, because my RE came over and put her hand on my shoulder and said.."i'm not giving up so you dont give up either ok?" i said ok and tried to keep up my PMA...it only takes one...it only takes one!!
i know the odds were kinda against us so i was very nervous. me and DH kept waking up all last night...we were soooo nervous!
well we were suposed to call the lab at 11 for the fert report...my hand was shaking when i was dialing. well the phone went to a voicemail saying the office was closed....WTF?? so i had to call the nurses line and leave a message, and wait for them to call me back!!
well they finally called and i was so scared to answer the phone.
she said....you had 1 egg and it FERTILIZED!!!!!!! i started to cry....i said
"it did???" in this high squeaky voice. she said "yes and the doctor says it looks really REALLY REALLY GOOD!!" i lost it!! i started bawling right there and said "it does??"
so we are going in tomorrow for the ET at 930am!!
please everyone pray that my lil embie keeps looking good and makes it back inside its mama!!
i am going to acupunture...my stress levels are though the roof!!
**much love to you all**

rlk - I think there are lots of women on here who have had beautiful babies from awful looking embryos, and I've had three cycles with beautiful embryos and no baby. So, we'll just wait and see!

katie - You're almost there! I'm really curious about this IVM process, I'm looking forward to learning more about it. Please have a glass of wine for me! I think first names is a great idea!

samgarkay - Really? 7 times? Good luck with more SnS! That picture story cracks me up. And your husband is hilarious. I hope we're going at the same time. Last July, I had an "identical cycle twin" on the boards, we had our transfers at the same exact time on the same day. She's preggers now, so maybe I am good luck to cycle with? Hmm. I don't know about the lube question - my dh does his sample at the lab.

bei- no one will be left behind here! Once AF comes, you'll have plenty of ladies here to cycle with.

marci (misocial) - I'm so sorry about the cancellation. Your time will come! And in the meantime, your immediate plans sound perfect, esp the hugs and ice cream.

Dandme - did you get advice from your RE about the meds? I'm guessing they'll just move you up a day, and it'll be no problem.

ester (moorebaby) - I love your first name! Happy stimming!

PatyPaty - thanks - my dh is getting home this afternoon, in plenty of time to jab me with a big needle! Lucky him and me!

Franny (turtle) - what a roller coaster - I'm so sorry you're going through this. All my thoughts and prayers for your beautiful perfect embryo! GL tomorrow!

AFM - waiting for the call from my RE for the time to trigger tonight. (The IVF lab doesn't schedule until the afternoon two days before ER.) I don't mind the trigger shot - it doesn't hurt, but I'm glad DH will be home, because I'm nervous about reaching around to stick my own butt. In the meantime, I'll be cooking some good junk food for the football games tonight!

Beth-Good luck with your trigger tonight!!! Are you going to take Monday off from work?

rlk1-My RE told me that the the pictures of the embies don't look so great after the thaw but that doesn't mean they aren't as "beautiful" as a fresh cycle looking embie so don't let that discourage you!!! Relax and ENJOY being PUPO!!!

Samgarkay-I also had to go in 7 days in a row for my last cycle and it was a pain in the butt BUT I'm lucky enough to live 5 minutes from my clinic so I don't have the right to complain especially when some women drive 2 hours (Katie!!) each way!!! Let us know the update from today :P Also, I know Pre-seed is ok for the sperm but I would call the nurse (without telling DH if he is embarrassed) just to confirm.

Marci-SO sorry to hear about your cancellation but hopefully next cycle they won't suppress you too much and adjust your cycle accordingly. As hard as these downs are, you have to quickly pick yourself up and keep marching forwards and put it behind you.... (that's at least my mentality through all this)

Dandme-I also agree with everyone and let your RE know ASAP so you have your new directions for today/tonight. Sorry to hear that your sister is sick

Laurie-TWINS?!?!? That would be wonderful!!! hehe-enjoy being PUPO

ester-cold turkey on caffeine?! That's crazy!!!! haha-I still have a cup or two of coffee but have tried to eliminate diet coke from the diet!!!

paty-hope the hot showers are helping and hang in there-they will be out before you know it

Ronda-so close to the ET...fingers crossed your snowbabies survive the thaw

heather-do you get a fert report today? I would transfer all 3 if they weren't all "perfect"...you don't want to freeze one that might not have a chance of surviving the thaw

riley-is your transfer today??? how many will you be transferring?

AFM...AF is still here hot and heavy and I have been taking Estrace since yesterday....have a great day and enjoy the sunshine

Samgarkay: Your RE and the staff sound so great! You’re so right, humor helps when we embark on this crazy process. Hope your SnS went well today!

katie99: How was that much deserved glass of wine last night---yum! You start on Tuesday!!! Sooooo exciting!!

Claud66: Okay, so my ugly embryo may turn into a swan? Will they tell you Tuesday if my “thick-lining” dance is working?

Bei: Thanks for your encouragement. I REALLY hope AF gets here soon!

baby hopes: Can we test yet?!? Just kidding (sort of!). So….DH and I had Italian food last night instead of Chinese food—do you think that also decreases my chances (aside from my shriveled looking embryo).

Misocial: Your post brought back sooooo many memories. My first IVF cycle was cancelled too---it was devastating. But….have hope…..we got our BFP on our second IVF cycle. I’ll be watching and rooting for you during your next cycle!

DandMe: So so so glad to hear that your cycle is still on track---just moved up a day. You must be so relieved.

Moorebaby: Working on that PMA chant. Should I do a PMA dance too? Glad your injections are going well!

turtle0619: Oh my gosh, I was getting so emotional reading your post. I’m SOOOOO glad your little embie pulled through. YAYYYYYY!!! Let us know how it goes tomorrow!

beth84: I hear you about how nice it is to have someone do those IM shots for you. I did all my stimming shots on my own, but I have to have my DH do my IM shots. Let us know what time your ER is scheduled for on Monday! Oh, and I think it’s good luck to have your ER done on a holiday. We got our BFP on our second IVF cycle and my ER was done on St. Patrick’s Day!

Okay, I have to share this with you all because I’m still laughing. My DH just sat down next to me and started reading some of what I was writing and he said, “What does PMA stand for…prick my ass?” Apparently, he’s been giving me one too many IM shots!

Just crashing to say a quick hi to Katie99 and Turtle (Franny) and anyone else I may have missed from the Sept/Oct boards.

Franny, I was so happy to read you have one good one and are going to ET this time!!! I will be thinking of you and checking to see how everything goes!

If anyone needs Follistim (one 300 cartridge) or Endometrin (a whole unopened box, I can be more specific if you want it), please send me a PM. I'd like to donate to someone from the board in need who does not have meds paid for by insurance. All I ask is that you pay for the shipping. (If you happen to be located near Nashville, TN and can pick it up, all the better :) )
