Hi everyone -

Well we finally got the letter (bill) from the clinic regarding how much is due on tue at baseline. That always makes it feel real, doesnt it? On a high note is so much less this time since this covers monitoring and for ivm they will just see me twice! That definitely makes me happy - It drives me bonkers to spend 4 hrs in the car for a 2 minute blood draw. Twice works for me :D Although I will be dying of curiosity through 5 days os stims not knowing how I'm doing. Somewhere my sonographer just breathed a sigh of relief! Cause I usually drive her nuts with "are you sure thats all? "keep looking" "there must be more than that!" Oh, and I start the dexamethasone tom - gotta love the steroids that cause insomnia & hunger - ugh

Riley / Franny / Heather - Whhooo Hooo! you all are PUPO! :D
Now go hit the couch!

Sara -I thought you left us - so glad that you're back! Will it really be that long til you start? I hope not, your donor sounds great - how lucky that we have Dodo since she knows the way on the DE route! I'll assume to put you under waiting for af on the list? keep us posted! :D

Es -Yeah, its kind of beyond me as to how men can be so disorganized - think of what will happen when we leave them alone with a baby

Dodo -Glad that you're feeling better. Yes, I think dropping the supplements is a good idea for now. Crossed that your E2 is lower next week!

Samantha - I dont get how your DH can make jokes about the wand - but is embarrassed to ask about lube? Boy, men and their penis! tee hee - He sure is comic relief though - I wish my RE had a sense of humor! Sometimes trying to get a smile out of him is next to impossible - either that or he is so frustrated with my case that he's always in super serious mode around me

Beth -So much luck to you for your ER tomorrow - hope that you get a bumper crop!

hugs & prayers for all of us - xoxo

hi everyone
wow its a slow day around here. thank you all for your dust, and dances, and prayers and thoughts. i had my one little 4 cell "perfect" embie find its way back home to me this morning.
the RE gave me a picture of it, and it looks just like both of us!! haha
i am a little sore, but i'm just so happy to be where i am today that nothing else matters.
i am on bed/couch rest until tuesday, and i cant wait for the golden globes tonight!
here is a funny story....so right after the transfer and the dr. left the room me and DH were holding hands and i was a little teary, but also had to pee really bad...dh looks at me and says...."its poopo!!" i looked at him and was like "what the hell are you talking about??" and started to laugh...he said..."ya know..poopo....thats its name!" hahaha i said "why the crap is its name poopo?? and no its not!!" hahaha
he said "ya know...poopo....from your message boards...pregnant until proven otherwise!!"
hahahahaha i almost peed all over that room i was laughing so hard...PUPO!!! PUPO!!
so now i cant stop calling the lil guy poopo, and its just so weird haha
then DH said.."if this sticks its all your fault ya know?"
hahaha great!

just afew personals and then back to putting my feet up..i'll do more later!

sam good luck with the trigger shot tonight!! woohoo!!

stats thank you for checking in on me!! its so nice to hear from you! how are you feeling? keep in touch! :D

sara thats so awesome about your donor!! woohooo! you are getting there! thanks for the thoughts!

rayofsunshine wrote:dodo-Thanks for the info. I really don't know what I should/can ask for so this gives me a great place to start. I wonder if they didn't give it to me because of the sperm factor-my DH has low count/motility so results may be very different for how many fertilize and how many will make it to freeze. I will definitely ask.
Sara :)
Hi Sara, it's not depend on your DH's issue before they would release the info to you. My DH has sperm problem too. They'll glad to give you this because you use their donor. BTW, we also asked them whether the pregnancy gives live birth. xoxo

katie- great minds think alike! i was actually going to ask you to put the 1st names in parentheses & you did! thanks! dh was just walking around with that "i'm looking for something" face. then all of a sudden i hear him, "that's where it is! right where i thought i left it." so i asked him why it wasn't the 1st place he looked & he just looked at me. DUH! men are so....not women. he is re-arranging his man cave right now, lol! i can't imagine spending 2 hours in the car for a 2 minute blood draw. that is some dedication. glad your bill is much less this time. that always helps!

franny- how cute, poopo! i'm sure your little one is finally happy to be with his mama. get some rest! when's your beta?

heather & riley- how are you doing ladies? what does it feel like to be poopo?

lots of sticky baby dust all around!

Samantha: YAYYYYY for triggering tonight--very exciting! Fill us in after your ER on Tuesday!

Bei: Nope, no symptoms. I know I should have more PMA but I have a bad feeling about this one (I really wish they hadn't given me that picture of my embryo---I might have been more optimistic if the embryo didn't look so ugly!). Sorry to hear about your stomach ache--that's the worst!

Ester: So those ovaries of yours are weighing you down? Must mean you have LOTS and LOTs of eggs!

Katie: Bills bills and more bills! Glad the fee is less than expected--YAY!!! I'm dying to hear about your baseline on Tuesday!

Franny: YAYYYY for being PUPO with little baby POOPO! When is your Beta?

Heather and Riley: Hope everything went well today and you're relaxing on the couch! Give us details when you're able!

Happy Sunday everyone!!

Katie: It is funny how actually paying for everything makes it seem more real. It's a huge chunk of change to lay down and not even know what you will get at the end.

Franny: Your "Pooopo!!"

Anyways, just a quick update. Today is it. I went in for my 2nd to last SnS and it was quite the visit. I was over 30 minutes late thanks to the PF Chang Marathon! Everything was shut down around my RE office. Then after 4 sticks for the b/w they finally gave up on drawing me. The stir portion was better as my RE is happier with my left ovary. She feels like there is a good chance she will be able to get all the follies hanging out over there! I got my live call to trigger tonight at 10p for a 9a retrieval on Tuesday! ET should be Saturday as long as I have enough good embies that can tough it out to day 5!! Keep your fingers crossed ladies! Grow embies grow. And I have to say after hearing all of your different stories with your RE's I am so happy to have mine. My husband really is a very funny guy and that is why I married him. He makes me laugh from down deep. He always says he would love to be a comedian and I have signed him up on amateur night but he backs out. Today my RE told him again how much she loves him and how funny he is. She is actually wanting to hire him to hang out in the lobby talking to patients. He really puts the whole IF world in a different light. She figured he'd get people to relax and laugh a little and maybe things would work better. When we first met her, he figured she was uptight and all business but after all of this they both love each other. Anyways, they had a HUGE conversation about a few things we have seen at the office with couples fighting coming in and out and she shared that for a short while she had a body gaurd because some husband threatened her after failed treatment!! Who knew? Anyways after they talked he went out and started talking to a couple guys in the lobby while they tried to stick me one last time and I could hear all the guys laughing! So he is to work the office tomorrow and Tuesday and get a little extra cash. LOL Thats great, and he has a agreed to do an amaetur night and the whole office is coming! Got to love how things turn out. If I get a BFN maybe they can pay him by a free FET is we have any totsicles left!

hi guys. thanks for checking in on me - i've been trying to lay low which hasn't been that easy as we have a friend in town. so while i'm couch-ridden, i've had to be chatty all day. if nothing else, it's been a big old distraction. we also snuck in Inglorious Basterds as I need to prep for tonight's Golden Globes.

rlk/kim: keep faith girl. i almost didn't want to know what my embies looked like this morning because i know how your mind can screw with you. because really, who knows, right? As Beth said, a fragmented embie can become a beautiful baby, and perfectly good looking embie can be a non-starter (as in my last IVF).

esther: rearranging the man cave, huh? i've got my DH doing laundry. i'm actually bummed because it's the one chore i like doing, so he's got me barking orders from the couch: don't overload the machine! remember to separate the darks! do you have enough quarters? he's actually been doing a great job taking care of me - propping pillows, bringing me food, even letting me watch Celebrity Rehab when the Jets game is on.

katie: oh yes bill time. we split the cost between two of our credit cards to ease the blow. on the bright side - it's good for the frequent flier miles, right? look forward to hearing how your baseline goes.

beth: hope they harvest a bundle tomorrow!

franny: loved reading your whole retrieval / transfer story. man, do people not going through this have any idea how stressful and emotional it all is? how excited for Ricky Gervais are you!? can't wait for the GGs.

samantha: your DH is hilarious. he should develop an entire routine about the craziness of infertility from the man's POV. my RE def tries to be funny. i asked him today if my embies were dividing okay, and he said, 'not only are they dividing, they're doing trigonometry and algebra too!' how many couples has he used that old standby on? i guess it worked. DH and I let out a 'ha ha'.

marci: thanks for staying on the board with us!

afm: so they transferred all 3 embies. 1 8-cell grade 4, 1 8-cell grade 3 (some fragmentation) and 1 6-cell grade 3 (more fragmentation). having an empty bladder was great! we watched it all on the sono and even got a picture (of what, i can't tell you because i don't know what i'm even looking at). i am sore too and i'm already paranoid about sitting up, moving around, etc. and weird question: is anyone else doing vaginal estradiol? the nurse said to take it with my prometrium (also vaginally), but the bottle says to take it orally, and it LOOKS like a regular swallowing pill. so i wasn't sure if i was doing it right by stickin' it up there today. oh well. i guess i can call them tomorrow. beta is Monday Feb 1. i told the nurse i've never made it to a beta in 5 previous treatments - 'cause i always get my period before. she was surprised. yup, i said, day 12, every time. but she didn't move up the date, and knowing me, i'll be POAS before day 12 anyway, so...

i agree with Katie that the couch thing sounds great but i'll be ready to go back to work tomorrow. might sound soon for some, but we don't have the day off (i work at an internet startup), and i like being busy. DH is off, though, so he'll be puttering around here finishing the laundry no doubt.

heather i'm SO excited for ricky gervais!! he is sooo funny! i love award show season! me and DH pick our winners and we compete who gets the most right! wasnt bastards great?? when i saw it i left the theater saying "whats not to love??" killing nazi's and brad pitt?? haha thats just a license to print money!!
dh is making us a golden globe dinner.....shrimp cocktail, motz sticks with raspberry sauce, and grilled chicken qasadillas! mmmmm i cant wait! i'm already watching the red carpet....waiting for george clooney! haha

oh yeah....afm my beta is 1/29!! i am thinking i will POAS either that morning or the night before, so i can deal with the phone call whatever it turns out to be. way too early to think about that stuff.
after tonight's golden globe junk food craze i am switching to an all organic processed free diet. (i already dont eat red meat) but i'm gonna do everything i can to give this embie a shot...without ever having any what-if's ya know? anyone have any good meal ideas for me?

Heather, Riley - I hope everything went well.

Franny - I love your "Poopo" story - too funny!

Ladies - I just need to vent a bit - I haven't necessarily told all of my girlfriends that I'm going through IVF - not really sure why??? I just haven't - I did share with my two of my closest friends. They are both aware of my fertility struggles & I was so excited that we were going to start IVF & wanted to share with them. Well it didn't necessarily go as planned - One of my girlfriends doesn't agree with the procedure & wasn't necessarily too supportive. I guess I was just taken back by her response & now more than ever I'm hesitant to tell anyone else. I didn't realize how much it was bothering me, but I can't stop thinking about it. It did hurt my feelings, but I have to accept that everyone has their own beliefs/opinions. I'm not sure what will happen to our friendship, since it seems as if she is distancing herself from me - has anyone else ran into this kind of situation?

Though my nausea came back with a vengence we were about 300metres from the hotel on friday and i was feeling awful (tmi) i started to gag and j turned shade of grey, pulled car in and told me to get out and dont vomit in his car!! Well i could have hit him, told him where to go and drive bloody on to the car park though i barely made it as soon as we were parked up...pukey lukey .
