hi everyone!
day 3 of resting...now my RE said i could do stuff today, but i'm just so nervous...i did the dishes and cleaned the kitchen today because even though DH tried to do a good job over the weekend...he is still a MAN, and it just wasnt cutting it...it was driving me crazy so i had to clean! we also have had some more snow today so i did some "light" shoveling of our side deck and stairs, and cleaned off my car...i left the driveway for when DH gets home, but now i'm worried i did too much today, and i sent myself back to the couch. i dont want to risk anything, but i keep thinking if i was pregnant "naturally" then i would be doing way more then this...i dunno...most people dont have a clue they are pregnant at this point yet! ahhhh i so dont wanna turn into the girl who freaks out about every little thing....deep breath!! haha

katie i hope your 4 hour drive is going good...i cant wait to hear about your baseline check!!! ((((((((((hugs))))))))))))

rlk1 you totally need a name for that lil embie!! he's a fighter and will stick..i know it!! i had no idea i would name my embie poopo hahaha but now it stuck and i hope i get to call him poopo for another 9 months!! like i said at the top of my post...most woman dont even know they are pregnant right now, and do all sorts of crazy things like drinking, and lifting, and end up with beautiful healthy babies! please dont worry...your DS needs you, and you should hug him tight!! stick embie stick!!!

:D

paty wooohoooo on triggering tonight!!! enjoy the shot free day off tomorrow! trust me...you only need one...look at me!! but knowing there are more makes it a whole less stessful...i'm sure you will have some beautiful eggs to chose from!! grow follies grow!! :D

claud wooohooo!! i'm so glad everything is looking good, and you are moving forward...sending you tons of thickening dust your way!! hurry up saturday!!!

gi yay for getting your appointment in!! talk about a pain in the butt! i'm so glad everything will be headed in the right direction now!! now you can try to relax a little knowing it is taken care of!!

beth any word on your fert report? let us know!! i'm crossing everything for you!!

lou i used ganirelix this cycle...it was soooo much better then lupron....it is an antagonist protocol...much less meds, and shots, and i only stimmed for 7 days!! it was the quickest cycle yet, and the only one that made it to transfer!! good luck...i'm so proud of you for jumping right back in...i also have been cycling since the end of AUG. 09! crazy!

dandme hows the hotel? i'm glad you decided to take some time and poke around the city...when i was younger i used to take roadtrips by myself all the time...it was so fun to explore new cities by myself...i felt like i could take on the world! i'm so sorry to hear about you sister...its amazing how stong us woman are and what we can go though! you and your sis are in my prayers!

misocial i'm so glad you are starting to feel like yourself again....it takes some time, but just know that you are strong and once they figure out how your body stims it will be sooo much better!! NO EVIL LUPRON! me you and katie should make t-shirts!! hahaha welcome to the anti-lupron club! oh and i love your colby dog...i need one for DH...for anything haha! hang in there hun! you sound like you have a wonderful support system in your wife!! :D

oh...my bum really hurts too...both sides....i ice before and massage like crazy after....at first i used a heating pad after, but my nurse said not to, and to ice again...so i'm sitting on an ice pack for hours everynight...thats fun! but i still wake up in pain! do i have to put up with a sore bum forever now?? any other advice would be great!
ok...lunch time!

**much love always**

Ok, so I have been hell-bent since yesterday that I was going to get one of these "personals" posts out before I sign off for the ER tomorrow--so here I go!!

Katie--drive carefully and can't wait to hear how your appointment went. BTW, I was re-reading some posts from over the weekend and now I am fairly certain I am going to have to give up eggs for a while....
Beth--I'm dying to hear how many embryos you guys have!! Still no word on whether it will be a 3dt or 5dt? I'm thinking fertile thoughts for you (does that work?)!!
Kim--I don't think you should worry about picking up your DS! I was thinking exactly what Franny was talking about--if we were doing this the old-fashioned way (gee, wouldn't that be nice?)--you wouldn't even know yet and you would be picking him up all the time!! And remember what I said--for me anyways, cramping was a good sign!!! That embie might have a face only his/her parents could love--but he/she could be burrowing in as we speak!!!!! Sticky thoughts!!!! Oh, and BTW--please feel free to laugh away at my story--that's why I told it!!! We HAVE to laugh about this stuff--because I can't stand the alternative........
Jacqueline--I already said it in my last post, but again--cramping could be a good sign!! Little Viggo wants to stick around!!! BTW--I'm with your DH on that one--BIG fan of Viggo. But sort of only in Lord of the Rings.....is that weird?
Heather--how are you feeling? As for your bathroom troubles--I actually remember those same two issues from my first cycle--which was the chemical pregnancy. I refer to that one because that's the only one where I had any symptoms--so again, maybe that's a good sign!! Also, I was going back through and felt compelled to comment on your much bigger laundry troubles--my DH isn't allowed to wash ANYTHING that belongs to me except sheets, towels and underwear. He cannot seem to comprehend that not everything needs to be washed on high heat/temp boost and dried for three hours on high. He drives me insane! Anytime I hear the washer going, I have to run into the laundry room, check the load and change all the settings!!! That would get me off the couch, for sure.....
Franny--It sounds like things are going pretty well with Poopo!! I think you're right about the activity level--you'd be doing a lot more if you didn't know what was going on (i.e. PUPO). How is the diet going?
Ester--how is it going with the stims? Are you still tracking for ER on the 26th? From your signature/history, it looks like you and your DH have a similar profile to us--I wish you best of luck! Grow follies grow!!
Laurie--congrats on being PUPO!! How are you feeling? I noticed you were in Boston--we are around there, too. I wonder if we are going to the same place? Sticky Thoughts!!!!
Samantha--thinking of you today!!! That will be me tomorrow!!! I wish you a fast, hassle-free recovery from ER and I hope they got tons of follies!!! Fingers/toes and whatever else can be crossed!!!! Oh, I also know the joys of having an amusing DH--when we go to the RE, he speaks solely and directly to my DH--even when he's talking about me and my body!! I secretly think that my RE has a non-sexual crush on my DH.....
Sonya--Hope things are going well today with you and good luck with your US tomorrow!! I hope that there are lots of little follies growing!!!!
Claudia--sounds like things went pretty well today at the doctor's and at home!! Will be thinking of you on Saturday!!!
Lou--I'm so sorry again--I totally hear you about non-stop cycling. I've essentially been doing the same since July myself. I am doing a Ganirelix protocol this cycle, as well--and while I can't yet speak for the results, I haven't noticed any ill-effects. I know whatever you decide on timing will be the right choice!!!
Marci--I'm so sorry that your cycle was cancelled, but it really does sound like you are on the mend and in the right frame of mind!!! Enjoy those pajamas!!!!
Paty--I think seven eggs sounds like a good number!! I had eight my first cycle and six of them fertilized. I hope everything goes well tomorrow with the US and that you get to trigger tomorrow night!!!
Roshaunda--have you heard yet whether they will have you do the ER tomorrow? Mine was supposed to be today but they ended up having me go another day (hence the 1am drug deal on Sunday night...). But if you do wait--you'll just give those littler follies a better chance to grow!!!! Best of luck for the ER!!!
Merri--I am keeping my fingers crossed for your BW tomorrow and doing a no-cancel dance!!!! Let us know how the estrogen levels come back--I'll be praying that they go down!!!
Gi--I am SO happy that they were able to squeeze you in!!! A few well-timed tears never hurt anyone....and in this case--they really helped!!! I so hope that this will keep your cycle on track!!!!!!
Latrell--thinking of you and hoping AF comes soon!!!! I know you are nervous--but I know at least for me--everything was way less upsetting than I was imagining it would be--and now it just seems normal. Of course--I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing. Maybe it's just a weird thing......

I sincerely hope that I got everyone--if I missed someone--don't worry--I will find you!!! ER is at 7:30 tomorrow morning--so hopefully this time tomorrow I will be enjoying some nice drugs and making my little sister wait on me hand and foot. Even if I'm not that crampy (I'll never tell!).

Baby Dust!! Sticky Thoughts!!! Grow follies grow!!! Thickening dust!!! AF Dances!!! No Cancel Dances!!! I think that covers everyone, right?!

Thank you to everyone for the support. It really makes this easier.

Take care!! XOXO Cami

Hi everyone -

Ummmm.... that was the weirdest baseline ever - it was just u/s no b/w
huh? She said they dont need b/w because I'll hardly be on meds, just 300iu day of bravelle til trigger on stim day 6. Well, now just 300iu for me is pretty much like no meds since I'm usually on 600- 750iu day, plus menopur and ganirelix too. So I guess so, or maybe they dont care what my E2 is since I'm always low and hard to raise? Also I totally miss my old nurse, this new one is like personality free or something!

The good news - My AFC is between 7 and 9 !!!!! For me that is the most they have ever counted at baseline! So yiiipppeee! Now if only we could have that many by next week, then I 'll be more hopeful about this ivm
Actually who am I kidding? If I end up with more than the 3 that I usually get I'll feel like I finally won the follie lottery!
So stims start on thursday and here we go

lou -Hi hon, how are you? Its sounds like you're feeling better. Did you decide on the ski trip? Dont feel bad, i've been cycling since june!
You should have a better cycle on the antagonist protocol - theres a few of us, myself, Franny had much better cycles on antagonist and soon Marci will be on it also - plus its less injections. Its known to produce fewer eggs, but better quality and thats what we need. Let us know when your back on schedule - if you ever get a day off!

Claudia -Glad that you're all made up! sometimes you just have to let it all out - but the make up part is fun too!

Marci -I love mind numbing tv sometimes too - what would we do without all the junk on Bravo? So you & colby dog are just having a small delay - I think this next time will be a whole different cycle!
UGH evil lupron! Did your RE still have you take the trigger shot to ensure AF soon? Mine does that, but he is a "batch" RE with schedules made up months in advance :? Shall we start around round of the AF dance for you? When is your follow up appt? Also known as the f/u

Gi -At least you got a date in time - no yay for MORE out of pocket though! Wait you're gonna breed your PUP? wont that make you a Grandma? I'll never let you live that one down! - xoxo

Paty -7 is great! Sometimes they retreive more than whats seen on the u/s too. Roll on friday! :D

Sam - how did your ER go ?

Kim - PMA PMA PMA PMA - if you say it enough it becomes true!

Franny -I was the same way last time too, every time i touched anything i was like -ooh, was that too much? I think that as long as you think before you move you know your limits - plus you're so right, if this was a natural pg - you'd definitely be doing ALOT more physically
Ummmm... OK -so I'm mad at your clinic AGAIN! I cant believe your nurse told you to ice after a PIO inj!!! Its oil, it needs to disperse throughout the muscle or you've got a painful lump - think of oil when its cold, its almost a jellylike consistency. I cant imagine why she said that.
You've got to do a firm massage for at least 10-15 minutes, or you can walk for that time to utilize your muscle dipersing the oil, warmth is your friend afterwards it promotes vasodilation - ice will constrict your blood vessels (vasoconstriction)- UGH - the joys of taking on too many patients at once! love ya! -xoxo

Franny--I go to Boston IVF. They have an office here in Braintree (my local one) but the main office is in Waltham. Quite honestly, I never even looked around when this whole process started--they were in my insurance network and literally right down the street, so I just went. It never even occured to me to investigate other options. Meanwhile--I haven't voted yet, but I don't even know what to do--it would just be a vote to whomever I find less annoying at this point--and let me tell you, it's a dead heat!!!! I can't wait until tomorrow when all this BS (I mean the special election, of course--not my ER) is over!!! It's definitely making my TV watching less enjoyable......

JUST because I happened to be sneaking a peek at the boards AND the election coverage at the same time...I'm going to post this link to a massachusetts woman's blog (she's doing IVF) where she covers Scott Brown's plan to ensure companies don't have to cover IVF costs.

Code: Select all

http://hannahweptsarahlaughed.blogspot.com/2009/12/letter-to-ma-state-senator-scott-brown.html
Will promptly shut up as i don't want to politicize the board, but this affects us directly!

hms: thank you! my donor's AF should be here anytime or anyday from yesterday.

Franny: Is it about progesterone injection? I stood up and reclined on a chair and had DH gave the shot on the relaxed leg. I used an old sock and put raw rice into it, microwave it and use that to massage the area hard for a minute. it helped me on the injection area.

Katie: Crossing fingers that you will get what you want!

Just a quick post since I am preparing for a workshop that I'm doing tonight with the parents of my High School Students titled: Second Base: It's not what it used to be!!! haha-should be intereresting talking about sex to parents

Franny-HEATING PAD AFTERWARDS!!! I actually do heating pad before AND after and that really made the difference for me after my initial freak out when DH had to do injections!!! And as Katie said-message, message, message!!

Katie-YAH for having a good baseline apt!!!! Only two more days till stims!!!! SOOO exciting

Cami-Great job on all those personals!!! GL tomorrow and I will be thinking of you have everything crossed

Beth-can't wait to hear the fert report today!

GI-good job being persistant and getting an apt!!! We will follow your journey even if you are a couple weeks behind us!!!

Paty-hoping those smaller follies catch up by ER on Friday!!! You will have a nice relaxing weekend so milk it up baby!!

rlk-we need to think of a funny name for your "dark" embie!!! Darth Vador? hehe!! My DH's sister who is pregnant again and has a 20 month year old was spotting during weeks 6-9 and they told her not to pick up my neice but knowing that wasn't possible she was told to try and limit it when DH was around to help out!!

sonya-GL tomorrow at your SnS and hopefull your follies grew!!!

marci-Glad your PMA is back up and we can't wait till you start again with a new approach. They upped my Estrace and my Lupron (evil evil Lupron) is still only 5 mm and not giving me any more headaches!

hugs and kisses to everyone and GL to all the Mass citizens WHOEVER you vote for!!!

Time for a few personals - I'm sorry for those I don't get to!

Claudia - that sounds like a fun workshop! Dare I ask what second base is these days? It probably involves text messages.

Heather - thanks for sharing that link!

Cami- GL tomorrow! Definitely take it easy tomorrow. I was feeling great for most of yesterday, and then oh boy did my ovaries hurt that evening. I even took one of the vicodin they gave me.

Sam - I hope your ER went well! Can't wait to hear the report!

Katie - Hooray for your AFC!

Jacqueline - I think the progesterone may cause cramping as well. Either way, I don't think it's anything to worry about!

Franny - I'm with Marci on doing suppositories rather than the PIO. My second cycle I did PIO for three days, and I had huge hot red welts and couldn't sit or lay down. My nurse took one look and made me switch back to the prometrium.

My update - Out of my 12, 9 were mature, and 7 fertilized (not bad for ICSI). My doctor is torn about the 3 v 5 day. I've done both, with no results. He asked the embryologist to take a look at my records and see what he thinks, and then we're going to talk tomorrow.

Dodo928--thank you very much for the well wishes and DAMN IT!!!! I tried so hard to make sure I got everyone and I swear this is the truth--I just went back and looked at my handwritten list of everyone's names, dates, stories, etc. that I have been compiling and there you are--out in California, waiting on the donor's AF--I don't know how I missed you in my post!!!! Actually, if you saw my list, you'd know how I did. But that's beside the point--so this is my addendum to my first official "personals" post:

Dodo928--I am doing an AF dance for your donor!!!! Sounds like it should be any minute!!!! I have my fingers crossed that everything goes smoothly and quickly!!!!!

Sorry about that!! I feel like a heel! It must be the hormones....... :)

Beth--congrats on 7 embies!!!! That's great news!!!! And thank you for the advice on taking it easy--that's the plan. Let me know what the embryologist says about transfer day--my clinic only does 3 days unless there is a specific reason not to. I don't know. Good luck!!!!!! Grow little embies grow!!!!!

I am a first timer for IVF. AF is due Thursday so we will start this cycle if the call to the fianance company goes well tonight. I am really scared. I have seen many that have failed first attempts  I am going with a plan that will give us 2 fresh cycles and 2 frozen cycles. I think that will help some with the stress. This is it for us though unless I win the lottery.
Me advanced maternal age and multiple miscarriages
DH perfect swimmers
ME 39 advanced maternal age (DD previous marriage)
DH 35 perfect swimmers (no biological children)
9 failed watched (climid, menupur, HSG cycles) 4 failed IUIs. First time IVF starting this cycle.

I have been MIA yes I admit... The other night I had a post ready to send when all of a sudden I pulled my plug and computer turned off. As you guys can see how lazy I was, I didn't even try to retype it lol... So to update you guys. I was going to be able to cycle this month but unfortunately got pushed back again because levels didn't go down. My RE scheduled me for an MRI of the brain which I did yesterday morning and turns out I have a 6mm tumor which is the cause of my increased prolactin levels. I just found this out today. According to RE if MRI came back negative as in no tumor they were going to prescribe Dostinex but I don't know how different it is now that there is an actual tumor. RE didn't think there would be one and I am pretty surprised there is actually one in there lol. I am just patiently waiting. I will definitely keep you guys updated though.

Hey ladies! Just a quick update. So today was my ER and it all went good. Lots of laughs and good times. They were able to get 9 eggs. Woohoo. They had to do a lot of work to get my left but they were able to!! Now lets hope they all fertilize! Fingers crossed. I am still real tired and feel like I am in a dream state, so off I go, but I will catch up tomorrow.
