Holy Moley! You all had a typing fest last night! Serves me right for not checking in before bed, it wouldnt be so bad if I werent such a slow typist

Marci-You have my vote! but as the lupron is evil club president how do you plan to address the issues?

Cami -Good luck at ER! he hee men doing laundry is a big fat NO around here! I dont get why they feel the need to shrink everything to doll size!

Roshaunda -Wishing you so much luck tomorrow - hoping for a bumper crop! Hugs for not having DH there throughout this tough process

Beth -Will you get another update today?

Merri -Crossed for a lower E2!

Claudia -bet talking to parents about sex was loads of fun!

Baby ranger - Wecome! How did it go with the finance company?
So. Not. Fun.

Kim -6dp6dt way too early! I'll repost the embie chart when I finish this
Thanks! I'm glad someone is excited for my cycle as I'm having a hard time with that. After 5 attempts, its hard to give in & hope that it wont crush me again - my Re talks a good game with this ivm, but knowing that I'm only the 3rd time he's tried this really isnt helping much - We'll see soon enough  Ask your nurse to switch you to a different PIO base oil, it sounds like you're having a reaction to this one. That should help it.

Rosario -Thoughts & prayers are with you - this has been such a long hard year for you & DH - hugs!

Samantha -Yay for 9 eggs! fert report today?

Heather -Hang in there, hon! I know its the looongest 2 weeks ever

Es -One is not better than the other, just different. Lupron works by depleting your pituitary gland of LH, once its "empty" if shuts down and prevents you from ovulating through stims. An antagonist protocol (ganirelix) works by going directly to your pituitary and shuts it down immediately. Its just for some reason that some women (Franny, Marci, myself) are super sensitive to it and over suppress ruining the cycle. Some of this I learned from reading all of Ghost's posts but if you go to the Advanced Fertility of Chicago website they have SO much info - I've learned a ton from them, anything you put into the search box seems to be in there! I wonder if their RE's are as great as their website?

Sonya -Glad that you're keeping busy! i loved your blog, you have such a flair for writing! Your E2 looks right on schedule - YAY for DH coming soon!

Franny -How goes the sore bum today? Are you back at work yet?

StatsGoddess -I'm so happy to hear that you Shelby are having a H & H pregnancy! Did you ever hear about when that documentary on the WE channel was? Remember Sancap's Re let them film there? I've checked their website, but no info at all. I thought she had said it was on in Jan?

Ashley -Glad you're back! And now PUPO!!!! I remembered that you always were working like a crazy woman - now you have to take it easy!

Ronda -FET tomorrow! PUPO tomorrow! Best of luck to you!

Yikes I feel like I wrote a book - hugs & prayers & PMA - xoxo

3 Day Transfer:

1dpt... Embryo is growing and developing
2dpt... Embryo is now a blastocyst
3dpt... Blastocyst hatches out of shell on this day
4dpt... Blastocyst attaches to a site on the uterine lining

6dpt... Implantation process continues and morula buries deeper in the lining
7dpt... Morula is completely inmplanted in the lining and has placenta cells &
fetal cells
8dpt... Placenta cells begin to secret HCG in the blood
9dpt... More HCG is produced as fetus develops
10dpt... More HCG is produced as fetus develops
11dpt... HCG levels are now high enough to be immediately detected on HPT

Just got back from my first follicle finding ultrasound and guess what!!

Lining 6.7 mm - which was good...

8 follies between 7.3 & 12 mm (four on left, four on right)

and MORE THAN TEN small follicles on each ovary to boot. That means we have over 30 up and coming eggies. I am so happy!!

The doctor said our progress was "Excellent" and that he "Couldn't ask for more". And we are on track for ER on Tuesday or Wednesday, right on track for DH to join me in plenty of time.

Good Afternoon All,

Still waiting to hear from RE about new plan of action........still waiting...... as if the ivf world is not rough enough, just the wait can kill you.....just tell me already...

Ok I am better, whew! :)

Megan lynn You are in the right place for a newbie...trust me...these ladies are full of knowledge, support, answers to questions big and small. What may seem minor to the doctors office can be a really big deal to us and if you have questions 27/7 here we are!!! :D I say we but I am a newbie too of sorts. Make sure you have a strong support system be it a partner, friend, coworker, this board, dosent matter just be sure there is someone to listen to you *****, moan, second guess your own body and cry. Good luck to you.

Katie Education Education Education!!! We as women, spending all the money we can gather, investing every emotion we posess, treating everyone around us as though they could never understand, must be better educated before the ivf roller coater. What are the meds, what are the side effects, what precautions are in place to make sure that we "do no harm" these are stand questions to be answered before taking (dom dom dom) EVIL LUPRON
What do you think... good opening campaign speech??? Katie have a great day and keep them campaign donations coming!!!!( I need them for Meds) :D

Roshandra You are a very brave woman.

Franny Every book I read said no ice for PIO, sorry you hurt, I am a no needles kind of girl, the SQ needles are a stretch for me. I hope you find a solution soon.

Samantha You have us waiting on the edge of our seats. :D hows the fert report?

Lou Miss you on the board :( :(

Statsgoddess If for some evil mean reason I must use PIO instead of suppositories, does the EMLA cream really help with IM injections?? I love it with SQ cause I am a puss, ( thats what Colby Dog calls me).

To all a good afternoon,
Signed waiting....still waiting.....Marci

Hey everyone! So much reading to catch up with you all. I just now feel like I am back to the land of the living! Just in time too, as I have to work tonight. So I got the much awaited fert report and I am happy to say we had a 78% fert rate with all 9 eggs being mature and 7 fertilizing. I have an appointment for both a 3 day and a 5 day transfer. It all depends on how things look Friday am. As it stands I will either transfer Friday at 10:30 am or Sunday at 9:30 am. I am up in the air, as I know that 5 day transfers have higher success rates, but with so few eggs maybe a 3 day would be better. I will leave it in the hands of the experts. I will do personals later, but much peace and joy to those who are enjoying being PUPO and best of luck to the rest of us!!

rlk1,

Thanks for asking about me. I have not fallen off the face of the earth, just not alot going on with me. I have been trying to keep up with posts, but its getting difficult.

Marci,

sorry to hear about your cancellation. the girls are right, the first IVF is a very expensive lab experiment, but the RE's use it for a steep learning curve.

Samantha,

Great fertilization rate!. Hurray for you. Cannot wait to hear how the transfer goes.

Meganlynn,

Welcome!. you are in the right place.

lou,

I say take a vaca! Give your body and mind a break. We will all be here when you jump back on the IVF rollarcoaster.

Dandme,

Sounds like you are growing your follies well. You go girl!

Katie,

thanks again for the chart and keeping the list. You are wonderful. Thank your for your words of encouragement for tomorrow.

I just got embie report from lab. They have had to thaw 5 embies (we have 10 total) to get 3 that look "good". Looks like we are going to be transferring: 9 cell, grade 2+; 7 cell, grade 3; 5 cell, grade 3. The other two embies: 8 cell, only 3 cells made thaw; and 8 cell that 6 cells made thaw, but looks dark. They are going to continue to watch the 2 and if they start progressing, they will re-freeze them at blast, otherwise they will be discarded. So my transfer is scheduled for 8:30 tomorrow morning. I will have to leave the house at 5 am to get to the main ofc, boy its going to be an early, early morning. :D PMA PMA PMA

Es - 10 follies in the works! That's great that they're all so close in size. Still waiting to hear from my RE! My first chemical was a 5dt, and my FET was with 3 day embryos (from my first BFN cycle), so we don't have any good information to go on!

bei - still waiting! You must be going insane!

Sonya - Wow - that's a ton of follies! Grow babies grow!

ashley - Welcome back and GL tomorrow with the transfer!

meganlynn - Welcome! This is a great, and very knowledgeable group of women.

marci - your election speech had me cracking up! I'll vote for you!

samantha- Hooray for your 7 embies! That's a great fert rate! I think 7 is plenty to go 5 day, but maybe they'll see how they're looking tomorrow.

Ronda - Good luck with transfer tomorrow.

Lots of PMA heading out to all! I am going to try calling my RE now to find out about transfer... Either tomorrow or Saturday.

Ummm so ok, we live in what you would call rural suburbs, but are still just 1 hr N of NYC - so what in the world would possess my neighbors to buy a rooster? Yes, a rooster. One who doesnt know what time it is either!
Now I love animals, probably more than I like most people, but really? WHY a rooster? And more importantly - when will this creature shut up?
It crows all day long, every day. Isnt it enough fun around here to have bears in the backyard in the summer? foxes pass through at night? deer all the time? OK, the deer and foxes I like to watch, but the bear are another story  And now a rooster -sigh...

Alright then, I'm ready for stims tomorrow, as my kitchen table looks like the med room at any nursing facility - hope it works this time...

Meganlynn -Welcome! When you get your schedule let me know and I'll put you in the right spot on our list!

Franny -Thanks, hon! I need all the PMA I can get. Au contraire, my RE LOVES his schedules! The whole thing is planned out weeks in advance, wanna hear it, here we go:
stims 1/21 - 1/25
trigger 1/26
ER 1/28
Sperm dropoff 1/29 ( DH can handle 1 appt by himself)
ET 1/31 - so a 2dt this time (hopefully)
see what I mean about RE & his schedules? I wonder what he's like at home? How are you & Poopo doing today?

Marci -(throat clearing) I mean Ms. President. tee hee you should start a blog, I'd follow it as religiously as I follow Jen Lancaster! You made me snorkle before. A few threads ago there was this woman whose posts just cracked me up to the point I'd end up spraying soda out of my nose
and that burns alot! I suppose its lucky for me that I've pretty much given up the diet pepsi, cause you'd be killing me every day! Is your clinic giving you a hard time getting a quick f/u appt? they better not be, they usually take all of 15 minutes.

Samantha - Yiippeee for 7 fert! back to work tonight? Go on with your bad self!

hugs all around! - xoxo

Finally, RE's number on caller id. About damn time, been waiting all day, half crazy. :) :) YEA...run over shut and lock office door. Answer phone while grabbing 2 page list of questions and spilling highly caffenated soda on list. :) Re's nurse on phone... oh....she will call me tomorrow .......sure that would be great......sure anytime is fine........ (my ovaries are in her hands, she could call at 3 am and I would be thrilled). well as long as I had someone one the phone, I asked what the cycle dates were for Feb, her reponse " I dont know yet and Dr may want you to wait till March" WHAT...... to let my body rest

So I wait....again
Thats okay, it gives me more time to work on my campaign
