Morning, Ladies!! I literally didn't sign on for ONE day......ONE day--and there are four new pages?! Yikes!! Anyway--I am still catching up on everyone's happenings--but I did want to give you the update (since I know you're just dying to know!:)--we got sixteen eggs yesterday!! I'm pretty happy with the results, especially since this was a new drug protocol this round and I thought it got off to a bit of a bumpy start. We should hear later this afternoon on the fert report. Hopefully we will have better numbers this time--although, our biggest challenge seems to be getting the embies to make it to day 3--so fingers crossed!! As it stands right now, transfer should be Saturday assuming everything goes according to plan!!

Sonya--I am sorry that you have to worry about your E2 level--but I saw someone else said it, as well--things change with that really quickly. My first BW this cycle came back to high--and I was all freaked out about that, but it ended up being fine!!! No worries yet!!!

Paty--good luck with your retrieval!!!

Beth--good luck with your transfer!!!! Thinking of you both!!!

Katie--sounds like great news so far!!! Fingers/toes crossed!!!

PUPO Ladies--thinking of all of you--cramps are good--constipation is not (only because I'm experiencing a little of that myself, courtesy of percocet....)

Ok--I know I missed a ton of you--I'm still catching up--but baby dust, lining dust, grow follies grow, stick embies stick and all of that to you all!!!!!

Thank you so much for checking in on me--I will be back up to speed shortly and I will have more to say to all of you very soon!!!!

XOXO Cami

turtle, of course I remember you! Good memory! I did decide to stick with RSC for one more cycle. Hopefully this will be our last:) They made some changes to my treatment so I am hopeful. If this does not work, hubby and I will have to have some discussions and made adopt or decide to switch to boston IVF. They are opening up a full service clinic in Portland ME and will start doing transfers and harvests in March from what I understand. Yes you are right....THIS WILL BE IT FOR US:)

question ladies....last cycle I got my period after stopping my BCP while on Lupron. I started AF the day of my supression check. They had me do a few more days of lupron and I started stims on day 3 of AF. This cycle I went for my supression and had not started AF. I started stims on day of supression check. they said I might get spotting but my lining was only a 4. but AF showed the next day in full force. Is this strange? Is it ok to be having AF while on stims? I know this sounds sily but its backwards from my last cycle...which might be a good thing:)

Hi everyone!

ashleyncsu77: How did your transfer go? YAYYYYY for being PUPO. I hope you’re enjoying some down time---work sounded crazy!

Katie: Think of it this way, your doctor has done this procedure three times...so surely he's wrinkled out all the kinks JUST in time for YOU!!!! Did you have an appt this morning, or are you just supposed to start stimming tonight based on your appt yesterday? Oh, and your neighbor has a rooster?!? What the WHAT?!? I’d be soooooo pissed. My neighbor has a dog that they let outside in their fenced backyard. He barks ALL day and ALL night. My blood boils just thinking about it. Sigh!

Meganlynn and nej: Welcome! Glad you decided to join us. This thread is growing and growing—one BIG IVF family.

turtle0619: Yep, switched to progesterone in olive oil. We’ll give it a few days, but I think I still see a welt even with the switch. I don’t remember getting itchy welts from PIO last time I cycled (2 years ago). Hmmmmm…maybe Darth has something to do with it (you know, since he’s evil and all!). So you’re not feeling great today? Hope your headache goes away soon. Hmmm…maybe Poopo is evil too!

samgarkay: 78% fert rate is awesome!!! You go, girl! Have you decided what day you’ll transfer?

Arabsrcool: How did it go yesterday?!? You’re PUPO---woo-hoo!!!

beth84: Waiting on pins and needles to hear if you’ll be PUPO today!

PatyPaty: Good luck tomorrow! Hope the trigger was uneventful!

Mandy14: If you’re up to it today, let us know how your ER went!! Here’s hoping they got LOTS of eggs!

Gi: Glad to hear everything’s moving right along---hope everything goes well next week (what day is your procedure?).

Misocial: ARGH!!! Don’t they know how frustrating the waiting game is?!? Did your nurse at least tell you WHEN your RE would know when they’d like you to start again?

Riley: Tell little Viggo to stop giving you cramps! How’s the wait treating you, my friend?

claud662: Glad your workshop went well---I can only imagine the stories and questions that were flying around! Let us know what they say on Saturday!

DandMe: Let us know what they say today. Here’s hoping the extra Bravelle did the trick!

Hope: Why, oh why, do you get up at 4am?!? I’m totally NOT a morning person---so 4am sounds like torture! So stimming starts in about a week---YAY!!!! You must be excited to get this party started!

Moorebaby: Was your SnS today? How are your follies?

Hms: I hear you about how SLOWLY this week is going by. BTW, your burger/cheesecake story made my mouth water. Yummmmmm! I, too, am obsessed with food these days!

Miyaya: Hope you find at tomorrow’s appt that those follies are right on track! Don't know about AF. Hmmmm....maybe instead of a few days of spotting you'll have one or two days of full flow?

CamiWB: Woo-hoo!!! 16 eggs is wonderful!!! Will they give you a fert report today? Rest up!

AFM…I have a confession to make…you guys are going to be pissed at me…I POAS and it was negative. I know, I know, I know…it may be too early (thanks, BTW, for that chart, Katie!!), but here was my logic…

When I did my fresh cycle, I POAS 5dp5dt and got a positive. Granted, I was pregnant with twins (lost one at 10.5 weeks), so the hormone level was higher. I just figured that since I’m 6dp6dt…TWO whole days later than when I POAS last time…that it wasn’t too early. Also, don’t HPTs detect hormone at 10dpo? If I’m 6dp6dt, aren’t I 12dpo? EVIL, EVIL, EVIL HPTs!!! I’ll try again on Sunday, but I’m leaning toward a big ol’ glass of wine tonight.

Sorry no time for personals right now, but I have to head to work in a bit. My transfer is set for Saturday now, 5dt. I guess that's good, since it means the embryos are looking good, but I'm getting impatient.

Alright then, I didnt check in after dinner last night and now of course it took me a while to catch up. So it seems so weird to me to be on such a low dose of stims (this ivm takes some getting used to) but on a high note, i guess that means I'll get out of the bloated feeling too? Works for me! :D

Gi -Whew! I sure hope this is it for us too! We've been at this way too long now! J does ironing? yippee! How did you manage that one? I wont trust mine with anything laundry related  Awww your poor pup! Maybe if he brought her a biscuit? Hope he wins her over soon, hearing him whine must break your heart!

Jaydentd -Yay stims! How did yours go?

Marci- wait, so your clinic called to say that your RE will call the next day? WTH? I'm with Claudia I dont see why they would want you to wait since your ovaries being enlarged or lining shouldnt be a problem? Hope that your RE calls soon and that you can reach the phone too! No way will we lose you to the March thread! Uh huh! Who would be our Ms. President?

Claudia -I'm still asleep at dawn, but the dogs seem to enjoy barking arguments with this darn rooster - alot! ugh

Sonya - its normal for them to adjust your meds throughout the cycle. Your E2 needs to rise steadily to ensure the follies are maturing. its interesting to me how outside of the US the RE's use so much lower doses than here. Here at 38 you'd be on a much higher dose -the REs are aggressive here! Relax, its early enough to adjust your meds with time to catch up. Its just stressing is all.

Niki -Welcome! Wow you're already down to a 1ww - almost there!

Hope -Love, love, love your blinkies! So if you are starting lupron on 1/29 do you start stims the same day? Or a few days later?

Es -GL with your appt - cant wait to hear! Grow em girl! I'm so impressed that you managed to quit caffeine! I have 1 small cup of coffee just to get my eyes open, and still miss being able to have a 2nd cup. MyRE says thats ok. You're getting so close now! excited?

Heather -Colace is your friend during a cycle, progesterone tends to constipate you. ugh Colace thankfully is now an over the counter product, its a softener, not a laxative, so no worries there. Gee, the conversations we get on here :? Other than that how's it going? Yes, we're in orange county, near Sterling forest. And you've made me jealous thinking of the better restaurants in NYC, that I never seem to get to anymore

Ronda -You're PUPO! Get some rest!

Beth -Any news yet?

Roshaunda / Mandy -Hope your ER went great and you both got a load of eggs! cant wait to hear!

Cami -Wow 16?!! You're a machine! get some rest!

Laurie -Hope you're not working too hard! How is it going?

Franny -hang in there, its too early for feeling crazy yet. how is your accupuncture going? hope its helping you feel more relaxed still! Its a long wait, I know - you have to really try to keep busy and not let yourself obssess, yeah, I know - good luck with that  luv ya

Kim - umm... I'll be Re's 3rd ivm, I know, I find that really offputting too. All I can do at this point is hope for the best. there are just 2 appts total, basekine was tues and then next tues will be trigger. So different than what i'm used to! I hope that the change in PIO oil helps, matbe give it a day or two? Alright, if you're calling him Darth - then I guess we'll just have to expect some "evil" side effects!

Ashley - You're PUPO!!! When is your beta? rest up!

hugs all around - xoxo

OK ladies - I'm sitting on my bum after ET yesterday so get ready for a long post after catching up on a ton of pages.

First, my transfer went great. The two embies that we wanted to thaw survived and the embryologist said they looked great. So far no syptoms so hopefully that will be a good sign.

Secondly I have what I think is a pretty funny story. When I got home from ET I ate a quick lunch and was exhausted mostly from the valium i had taken. I had intended to leave a message for the RE nurse because they won't return calls same day if left after 4:00. She had not told me when to start the gel progesterone so I needed to talk to her. Anyway, I woke up around 4:15 in a panic that maybe I was supposed to start that night. So I called the main number still somewhat groggy and said "I had my FET today and just passed out when I got home and when I woke up realized it was too late to leave a message for the nurse. I need to know if there are any additional meds I need to start today." Now I said all of this very calmly. She told me to hold on and seconds later my nurse was on the phone saying "Ashley, are you OK?" I said yes sort of hesitantly. She says "they told me that you passed out after your ET!!!!!!". Then it hit me that when I told the main number lady that I had passed out (meaning fell asleep), they thought I had literally passed out. Of course I felt terrible and apologized about 5 times. She then told me to start the progesterone gel the next day (which they did not tell me at my discharge). So in a way I felt bad but not really because I was not told my full instructions. Not only that but no one told me the official date of my beta.

So my beta is officially February 1st and so far the wait is excruciating.

Now for personals - I am catching up after several weeks so I apologize because I know I am not getting to everyone.

rlk1 - as you can see my ET went well. I read an older post of yours about not being able to pick up your DS. I too have a DS that is 3. His bigt thing now is "laying on mommy's tummy." My DH practically had to wrestle him off of me yesterday when he got home from daycare. So I feel your pain.

Hope644 - not IVF related but I saw in an older post that you are originally from NC. What part? I live in Charlotte.

dodo928 - I know the wait for your donor's AF is probably excrutiating. Can't wait to hear how things progress.

beth - So it sounds like your ET is going to be Saturday for sure? Good luck - will be good to have more folks in the PUPO group

Sam - 7 fertilized sounds really good - did you say when your ET will be?

Ronda - assuming you are either PUPO or will be soon. Let us know how it goes!

Katie - So your start stims today? I'm sorry I have been away and not following your story closely. But I am very interested to see how this shortened stim cycle works.

Franny - sorry to hear that you have had such an issue with the PIO. I was terrified when I started them last Friday. I wasn't going to use ice at the beginning but decided to give it a shot. My mom has been doing my shots - somehow she can do them without hurting me too badly. Then I sit on a heating pad for a while and it's not so bad. BUT....we are all different so hopefully you will find something that works for you. And I agree, if you can get switched to the gel inserts maybe that would help. Interestingly, my RE is having me do BOTH. Apparently he went to some conference and heard research that doing the PIO and the inserts is giving better results. So I get the pain in my ass and the messy, gross inserts. JOY!

babyranger7 - welcome to the boards - I, like you, was new to this late last year and this group is so supportive and knowledgeable....if you can keep up with the quickness of the posts. :)

hms - I'm going crazy with this waiting for beta and I'm only 1dpt6dt - I have a long way to go.....

Cami - 16 eggs at retrieval sounds awesome - my RE has said that they consider 15 to be great so hopefully you will get a good fert report.

OK ladies, that's all for me for now. I'm off to lay around some more and watch a movie DH rented for me.

Katie: Ohhhhh....you're the third patient, not the fourth, to try this procedure? Well, you know what they say....THIRD TIME'S THE CHARM!! I'm really hopeful this is IT for you. This way, you can get back at your neighbor with the rooster with a crying baby!

beth: YAY for good-looking embabies! I'll be thinking of you on Saturday. How many will you be transferring?

ashleyncsu77: Sooooo glad to hear that all went well yesterday (barring the passing-out mishap  ). How long is your bed-rest? They told me just 24 hours, but I think most places suggest longer periods. Wow, I thought a one-year-old would be hard to handle during this 2WW, but a three-year-old?!? Does he know that mommy's stomach isn't a playyard?

Waiting.....still waiting.......meanwhile back at the farm, two questions:

1. What time does a rooster crow?... come on you know who you are

2. This is for katie or anyone who knows, I would like to understand this ivm that katie is doing, how does it work? :?

I find myself strangely magnetized to this site - every time I walk past the computer it pulls me straight to it and somehow forces me to sit down
I say, NO - I have errands to do, house to clean, laundry mountain to defeat! but still... the strange pulling continues! Even the dogs want me to move on with my day and cater to them... But.Cant.Pull.Myself.Away.....

Darn you amazing females, my house is usually spotless, and lately, i just dont care!

Kim -OK, step away from the sticks, just put them down and run away, really fast! Every time is different, you know that. How mant times have you heard of someone getting a neg HPT on the same day of a positive beta? I swear they need better quality control at the evil stick factories! :D I hope you're right about the 3rd time - because although this is my 6th attempt - this will be my 3rd ET!

Marci -
1- roosters? why they crow ALL DAY LONG!!!!! At least the one here does
maybe it knows it doesnt belong in NY?

2-In a nutshell, my RE is most likely tearing his hair out, trying to figure me out. he has labled me "atypical ovarian response" meaning that my ovaries either go crazy on the meds and have a party growing super fast
Or they refuse to budge at all, depite how many meds he throws into my chemical soup. Each time they've had to go to ER with 2-3 good size follies and sacrifice the rest since they were always too small to catch up
So with ivm (which has a lower success rate BTW) they go to ER early when the follies are still immature, and mature them in a dish (with meds)
So that the eggs get a fair chance to mature at similar sizes thus salvaging all the tiny guys (hopefully) but this is an idea my RE had after reading a case study at the RE's annual conference of 3 women with an atypical ovarian response that all made it to live birth using ivm/ivf - so I'm sort of hopeful.... if you look to the left side of the plane - no sorry I mean the screen under ivf and icsi the last choice in that category has some ivm info - Where is your RE already?

Ashley -Yay PUPO!!! Now get back on the couch!

Hi Girls!

I have to say that I am now obsessed with this site. I love catching up to see how everyone is doing.

Franny - I am having some of the same issues as you. First my boobs are so sore and feel gigantic. I have been having some light cramping and the white discharge as well. I have also been having constipation that comes and goes and causes some cramping. I wasn't sure what was causing it. From reading some of the posts I guess it may be the PIO. I didn't have this last time but the PIO is different this time, it is sesame oil.

Cami - 16 eggs....WOW! My RE said that 15 is really good.

miyaya - The first time I went through the meds I skipped my period. This time I started the lupron two days before the stims and got a full period 3 days into the stims. My RE said it was fine and not to worry about it.

beth84 - good luck with the ET!

Ashley - glad to hear everything went well with the ET. Sitting on the couch can be the worst. I have watched a ton of movies! Sending lots of sticky dust your way.

Well I should get going. My DH is coming home to spend the afternoon with me....YAY!!! I am looking forward to leaving the house tomorrow......first time since the ET. I have my accupuncture and chiropractic appointments which should be relaxing.

Have a great day!!

Hi lovely ladies-

Katie - I too, am feeling drawn... tho I am working from home, I keep coming back to reading posts between, um, opening files, yeah, that's it. ;) I start lupron first, then have what my RE calls LE (lupron eval) - a day or so after AF starts, then I'll start stims, so my estimate is starting stims on about 2/4, then ER 2/16-2/18.

hms - sorry to hear ur unable to sleep, with a sore bum, and in need of "relaxing" :? not ideal. but the burger & cheesecake sound to die for! I should mention that to DH... he loves a good burger any old time and i'm sure he'd be up for it. Hang in there and "enjoy" the rest of your 2ww. stick embies stick!!

moorebaby - so how are the follies doing?? growing like crazy, I hope!! Enjoy your decaf tea!! I love the smell of coffee, but it never seems to be as yummy as it smells.

Speaking of coffee - turtle - folgers coffee commericals makin' you cry?? i always remember the christmas one about the son who sneaks in unexpected early christmas am and wakes everyone with a big ol pot of coffee. Image gets me every time... pupo or not! sorry about the pio side effects, :( yowza. they are so uncomfortable!!

miyaya - good luck at your S&S tomorrow. hope the follies are growing along at a good pace!

cami - Image!! Woo hoo! had to come up with a graphic for that one! here's to a good fert rate & growing, growing embies!!!

rlk1 - First of all, slap on the wrist for POAS. (I hate to say that, because I am totally going to do it) but still! DO NOT let it get you down. they are EVIL and stay away!!! Wait for your beta!!!

and um, 4 am... because DH and I don't want to take DS to daycare and DH works an evening shift (1pm-1am) so I work the 0'dark-thirty shift and he works the graveyard-ish ;) needless to say, we see each other in passing (hence the taking advantage of the rare cuddle time the other night) fortunately, he only works 7 of 14 days (rotating weekly) so it's not EVERY he works, but I still go in early M-F so I can leave earlier to get home to be with them. I keep wondering how I'm going to continue to manage if, uh, I mean, WHEN I am pg... i had a hard time the last time just crawling out of bed.... it's going to be an adventure. and no, I am NOT a morning person, and yes, it IS torture. btw, looks like we have DS's about the same age?! My cycle was Feb/March '08. My son was born Dec 3.

Beth - congrats on 5dt! sounds like your RE will have some beauties to choose from!! YAY!

Ashley - Congrats on being PUPO!! I love your "passing out" story. That is so totally something I would do too.. thanks for the chuckle. ;) but sorry you freaked out your nurse ;) Yes, I'm originally from Greensboro NC, now I live in Northern Virginia. Funny, I wondered if you were a Carolina girl, given your "ncsu" - 5 of my 7 nieces & nephews are NCSU grads (or soon to be, 1 more still there.. I'm the youngest (by far) of 5 - so I have much older nieces & nephews, we joke that they are "aunts & uncles" to my DS. Anyway, good to see another Carolina girl on here. How's Charlotte these days? been along time... bet it's getting bigger & bigger! Image

well, gotta get going... work (and little man up from nap) are calling...

Hey, Ladies!! So I was just in the middle of a really good nap when the doctor's office called to say we got......ten embies!!! Hooray!!! Now, the hard part is getting them to Saturday at 9:30 am--that seems to be our biggest problem. We've had six and seven before, but each time only two have made it to day 3. So fingers crossed!!! I want to write more but I am REALLY sleepy--I just wanted to tell someone!!! Thanks for all the support and well wishes!!!! I think you guys are the reason we got a personal best this time!!!! Clearly, I'm addicted to this site too. This is my THIRD post today. Good grief. I can hear you all say, "What NOW, Kim!!"

I PROMISE you, this will be my last post for today!!

misocial: STILL no word?!? Maybe you'll have to make the decision for them!

katie99: Okay, I've hid the evil HPTs. But....funny thing about hiding something yourself....I know where they are! I'll have to have DH hide them so I don't drive myself nuts! Yes, yes, lucky 3s! You are your RE's 3rd ivm patient, this will be your 3rd ET.....I see a pattern here!

nej: Have fun with your DH! That's so nice that he was able to spend the afternoon with you!

Hope: Too funny that your DS was born on 12/3/08, mine was born on 12/2/08! Any tips for me? I STILL feel like a floundering parent! Wow, I can see that WHEN you get pregnant you'll be tired with a schedule like yours. You're a better woman than me!

Cami - 10 is excellent. Keeping PMA for strong growing embies!!!

rlk1 - hahaha... i WISH i had some tips for you. I'm in the same boat with you, girlfriend! my DH thinks he's mr. experience because our DS is his 4th, but when the youngest of those is 14.... a LOT has changed since then! Too funny about our sons' birthdays! Oddly, my oldest DSS's birthday is 12/2/...1991! So they are 17 years apart. W  W!
