Meganlynn – We’ve always done ICSI with each of our cycles, and it’s always been successful.

Rayofsunshine – I know – those RE’s always like for us to be on “their” schedule. Drives me crazy!!!

Rlk1 – I’m pulling for ya and hoping that that negative turns to a positive!

Katie – I’m a SAHM, and Pampered Chef is a side business. I’m actually closing 2 parties this week before my transfer, and I don’t have another party scheduled for 2 weeks. My Mom is coming to help DH with DD, so I should have a wonderful couple of days of bedrest. I am SOOOOO looking forward to it.

AFM – DH developed the stomach flu last night, just lovely timing before company arrives and before ET on Thursday. I’ve been working like a dog cleaning the house, so all of the germies are gone. I’ll be MIA for a couple of days, but hope to post again before Thursday.

Sticky baby dust!!!

good morning guys.

nothing new going on over here. had my transfer over a week ago now and I still have 8 more days until my beta! do i have the longest wait ever? over the weekend all my symptoms went away, so this week should be interesting. I'm hoping it's easier than week one. I do plan to POAS but I haven't decided when yet.

kim: i just read someone's blog who didn't get her first BPF until the day of her beta - which was only a 15 - and she went on to have a beautiful baby boy, so don't lose hope! could just be late implantation.

es: YOU'RE THERE - good luck today!

katie: i'm holding you to that numbers must equal 14 thing - that means i can POAS thursday! hang on until Tuesday, you're already there - see how fast it's been to SnS #1? are you feeling anything yet?

franny: girl, if you POAS today, you have to tell us! did you wake up with any more spotting?

beth: welcome back to the work week. i'm sure you'll find it helps make the time go by faster. how are you feeling?

meganlynn: we did ICSI and my husband has no sperm issues. for us, it was recommended because i'm a poor responder - we only got 4 eggs - so they said they didn't want to just leave it up to the sperm to do their work. they said ICSI guarantees a higher fertilization rate - and our rate did go from 50% at my last IVF to 75% this time (we're talking about such a small egg count, hence the large jump in percentage).

msmac: how are you feeling?

gi: no puking! hope your Dad liked Avatar. did you get to see it in 3-D?

Jacqueline: any news for us? ready for tomorrow?!

sonya: haven't heard from you - does this mean DH is here and you're giving him a tour of the city? you've got a retrieval tomorrow too, right? did you trigger last night?

All right, gotta get ready for work. I might do acupuncture tonight. anyone else still going it during the 2ww?

xo

hi girls, this thread is rockin'!

Kim,

Don't give up hope until the beta gives you a BFN. You still have one snow baby waiting right? Lets keep PMA that Darth made it, however, if not, would you do another FET or fresh?

hehe, your funny, asking how many of my snow babies took.....PMA says 1 really strong one. We will see at beta. So far, I am feeling pretty laid back about it, either it did or it didn't, not much I can do either way at this point. :D Since my doc agreed to "freebie" a second cycle for me, I would do FET one more time and use the rest of my snow babies (at that point, the fat lady would be singing and it would be over for me, which strangely enough, I am ok with. At least that way I have an end in sight).

Roshaunda,

glad to hear you had great embies to transfer and no problems with ET. You are PUPO!

sdc,

I say take your HPT on Tuesday, but the beta is the final word.

Katie,

waiting to see on Tuesday how many eggs they harvest. I am sure RE wants test subject #3 to be a BFP, so will do everything possible to make it a go.

samgarkey,

hurray for good embies and some for freezing. Welcome to the 2ww PUPO girl!

miyaya,

You are an follicle making machine. Holy cow, 32  . That is great, but drink up! Gaterade that is!

Jacqueline,

I feel a BFP coming your way. I understand you snuck off to your old ob/gyn and got a positive!!! Hurray, cannot wait to hear your beta #. How many did you transfer again?

Franny,

Don't give up. Poopo could be just a late implanter.

Gotta go girls, supposed to be working (stacks of stuff waiting since I was off 2 days last week).

TTYL

so it is 8:45...leaving in about a half hour for my er. dh just called. everything went good. originally, the doctor performing the tesa was goingto have him try & give him a sample the "regular" way. well dh was all doped up on valium & was in this tiny room. just when was about ready, the doctor knocks on the door & asks him if he's all set....completely ruined the moment for dh, lol. needless to say, the sample was a little on the small side, so a tesa was performed. dh said it wasn't as bad as he expected it to be. the needle to give him the local anesthesia in the testicle was the worst out of everything. once it was numb, he felt no pain. thank god! dh said he got 3 vials of the "stuff." so now he & his brother are on their way to the clinic to drop off the goods. my mom will drop me off & they will wait there until i'm done. his brother is such a sweetheart for doing this. he undersatnds though. he & his wife did ivf/icsi 7 years ago & it gave them triplet boys.

heather- i hope work this week will keep your mind off this 2ww & make it go by faster.

J & C- hope the stomach bug doesn't stick around too long. enjoy your company.

katie/franny/beth/heather/claudia- thank you for your supportive words. i'm hoping for lots of embies, lots of good ones that is.

afm...i'm a little nervous. going under gives me mixed feelings. while i like the feeling, it just creeps me out a little. but hey, i'm glad i'm out for this procedure...last thing i want to do is feel them aspirate my ovaries, lol!

lots of sticky baby dust all around ladies!

love ya,
esd

Morning, Ladies!!! Ok, so I am now about four pages behind, so I'm not even going to try to address personals here. I need a couple of hours of reading and note-taking to catch up (and now I'm doing it without Ritalin, so it could take me even longer :D ). That being the case--I will just give you my update here, and then I will be back in touch--hope that's ok!!!

So, we actually had seven embryos make it to Day 3 (Saturday)--which is totally new for us. We've never had more than two make it. Our RE had recommended we transfer three, but DH and I were still thinking two--but we had decided to wait until the actual transfer to hear about the quality before making the official call. So, shockingly enough, we had one 8-cell grade 3, which they actually had labeled "High Implant Potential"--three words we have never heard before. The other two were a 7-cell grade 2 and a 5-cell grade 3. We asked the RE doing the transfer (a younger chic who is not my regular RE) for her recommendation, and she agreed with us on the two. Because of my age and because we still have three more tries covered by insurance, she thought two was best. So, they ended up transfering the the 8-cell HIP embryo and the 7-cell grade 2, because the embryologist said it was right on the cusp of being grade 3. The rest they were culturing out to blast to see if they would be freezable quality--I should hear about that today.

Anyway--I continue to be super crampy and my digestive tract is in some sort of mutiny--colace is ok to take during the 2ww, right? Man, I hope so. Also--does anyone know about benadryl? I thought I had read it was ok--but someone today was saying it wasn't.

Ok--so I am still catching up and promise to write more later. I just wanted to throw out three shout-outs: Franny--I wouldn't worry about a little brown spotting!! Hang in there. Kim--it ain't over til the fat lady sings!!! Don't give up yet!!! I still tested negative on an HPT before my first beta, which actually turned out to be a 35 because I had a chemical pregnancy. Thinking of you!!!!! Ester--best of luck today!!!!! I'm glad to hear your poor DH is doing well and on the mend!!! I hope they get lots of eggs and can't wait for the fert report!!!!!!!

To the rest of you--I am thinking sticky, positive, AF-y, thickening, growing thoughts for all of you!!!!! XOXO Cami

Wow ladies! This board is hopping now. I made the mistake of not keeping up over the weekend and I just had to read through about 7 pages of posts! That'll teach me! :D

niki - good luck waitin out your last few days until beta - can't wait to hear the news

Hope644 - so cool that you are from Greensboro and have family that went to NC State. Charlotte is good - i grew up here and moved back after college - it's definitely a growing place.

Cami - congrats on your ET - sounds like you got a couple of good embies. Now your'e in the PUPO club with so many of us!

Ronda - congrats to you as well on your ET - glad it went smoothly

Es - good luck with ER today!!!! sounds like everything went smoothly with your husband - looking forward to hearing the news later today or tomorrow!

Marci - I'm glad that you got everything straightened out with your doctor. And you aren't too sensitive. This whole process is so stressful especially given that you just had a cancelled cycle. But it sounds like things are back on track now which is great.

Sonya - about your blood drawing story, I would definitely say something. This day in age I am surprised they aren't wearing gloves - it's probably OK because we all get tested beforehand but you can't be too safe. Plus, it's just gross to have a nurse working with you with blood all over their hands.

paty - how did your ER go Friday?

Sam - congrats on your ET!!! Our list of PUPO just keeps growing

sdc - I also did PGD because I had multiple miscarriages and we found out that I have a translocation that caused all of them. I'm now in the 2WW and hoping that I can be a success story!

Riley Baby Maybe - if I don't get back on here before tomorrow - GOOD LUCK with your beta tomorrow. Have you POAS yet?

lou71 - I just wanted to let you know that you are a great example for this thread. I am so impressed that you are back on the wagon and moving forward - I'm hoping so much this next time will be your time!

Beth - congrats on the 3 embies transferred - you think it could be triplets? :D

claudia - sounds like we are cycling similar times to before - i hope everything continues this week and that you can do your ET this weekend or early next week

kim - I have heard so many things about the HPTs but I do agree with everyone else that you have to wait until your beta Friday and get the true answer. I'm thinking about POAS on Sunday before mine but am not sure for fear that it will be negative and I'll be freaking out until Monday.

AFM - I'm back at work today after taking all of last week off. I already told my boss that I needed to keep my stress level down this week and he seemed to be very understanding. My plan is to work no more than 8 hours a day at least until my beta next Monday.

I'm going through the range of emotions - now I'm at the point of thinking that because I'm not really having any symptoms that must be a bad sign. I know that I need to just continue the PMA and not stress out - but this wait sucks!!!!!!

Hi Ladies - I'm so sorry, but I have been MIA over the weekend. Here's a quick update: I had my ER on Friday and they were able to retrieve only 1 egg. My RE told us that they would give the one egg a shot - we receive a follow-up call from the clinic on Saturday morning & we were told that the egg did not fertilize :( I didn't expect to be so upset, but I was pretty overwhelmed and couldn't help but just cry. My hubby was just wonderful & took care of over the weekend. I'm going back to the RE this week to discuss options - we might be doing another round of IVF, but I will have to wait & see what my RE commends.

I see you guys have been busy - so I'm trying to catch up on the posts & will do some personals later today.

Thank you so much for your support.

Oh, Paty--I am SO SO sorry about your cycle!! I can only imagine how discouraging that must be. And do NOT feel bad for getting upset--not only is this an unbelievably invasive, stressful process--but you are also hopped up on extra hormones--so don't beat yourself up!! I know sometimes you don't want a pep talk at a time like this, so I won't try--I will just tell you much I sympathize with your situation. Anyone with a failed cycle knows how sucky these next few days are. That said, I will just try to tell you what did help me (a little!) and that was this--because this was your first cycle--your RE will get a ton of useful data about how your body responds to the treatments (or didn't) and they will be able to come up with a much better plan the next time!!! My first cycle they only retrieved 8 eggs, but the second one they got 18--because they knew so much more about my body and tailored the protocol accordingly. I know it's so hard, but don't give up!! Make sure they talk to you about what went wrong and how they are correcting for it in your follow up appointment.

I wish I could give you a hug in person--but I'm giving you a mental one right now!!!! XOXO Cami

So I figured I’d stay away from this site and just post my results on Friday, but who was I kidding? I mean, you girls have been so good to me so the least I can do is cheer you on!! Translation…I’m done with my pity party!

latrell22: Ugh. I hope your cramps go away soon! YAYYY for starting stims tomorrow!

Samgarkay: Congrats on being PUPO!! Hope the 2WW isn’t too unbearable…just 8 more days until your BFP!!

katie99: TOMORROW’S THE BIG DAY!!! Soooooo exciting!! I can’t wait to hear how it all went! I’ll be singing the “Mature-little-eggies” song for you starting tomorrow (your eggs don't mind that I have a bad voice, right?!?)!

Misocial: LOVED the new IVF terms! My favorite was Cruisin’ for a Bruising’ since it seems I’m my technician’s first ever patient every time I have to get my blood drawn. OUCH!

Miyaya: So is Wed your official trigger date? Maybe they’ll have you trigger earlier since you have so many follies! Keep us posted! Sorry to hear about the blood in your pen mishap. That’s so frustrating!

Gi: How was Avatar? Tee-hee about your hair! Although, I’d much rather have ringlets then my frizzy mop!

claud662: My husband is a HUGE Jets fan. I can’t tell him you’re a Giants fan or he’d ban me from ever writing to you! As you can imagine, my DH was crushed last night. There’s always next year..

dodo928: So will you be starting your cycle in 2 weeks when you get AF? If so, that’s so soon! YAY!!

beth84: How’s the 2WW treating you? Do you think you’ll cave and POAS? I’m rooting for your THREE embabies!

turtle0619: Sounds like spotting is a good sign! I’m really rooting for you and Poopo! Do you think you’ll POAS or wait until the official test?

sdc: Yah, I talk big about not POAS. But, as you know, I’m the POAS Queen. Let us know if you decide to test before your Beta! Can’t wait to hear about your BFP!

J&C: Thursday you’ll be PUPO!! Glad to hear that your Mom will be there to help your DH with your DD. I think we’ll try that next time (have some family here to help after the transfer). My DH did it all this time around and it was anything BUT relaxing for me. Bless his heart, he tried so hard. But…I inevitably needed to help with my DS from time to time!

Hms: Thanks for the inspirational story. Yah, I suppose you’re right. Maybe Darth is dark, evil, AND slow! Hope the 2WW is treating you well!

Arabsrcool: Yah, we have one frosty left. I suppose we’d try that one before another fresh cycle. Even though the chances of success would be much lower, it’s worth a try, right? Sounds like you have a future plan that you’re at peace with. But… you probably won’t need it since you’ll be preggo after this cycle!

Moorebaby: Good luck today! Glad to hear that your DH pulled through and that the RE was able to get 3 vials. That’s awesome!! If you’re not to groggy/tired later today, fill us in with all the fun ER details!

CamiWB: YAY for being PUPO with such great-sounding embabies!! That’s awesome!! Hoping you get some frosties too out of this cycle (you know, for when you need a sibling for your TWINS!).

ashleyncsu77: Your boss sounds so wonderful and supportive! Hopefully, being back at work will make this week go by quickly for you! Then, your DH will have to distract you over the weekend before your Beta on Monday! Sending sticky vibes your way!

PatyPaty: I’m sooo sorry to hear your news. This IVF process can be absolutely tortuous. I’m thinking of you!!

Hope664: Only four more days before the stimming fun begins, my friend! How are things going in the mean time?

hi everyone -

Finally twinges! :D Yay - I was starting to get a little nervous, but they finally started last night into this morning. So they're doing something at least. I just cant get over how different the ivm schedule is, I mean, now I'm suppossed to hope that they've stayed small? How odd that is to me.
And how small do they want them? According to my schedule Er on thur
and DH's sample is to be produced on fri, so how do they know that the follies will be mature enough to fert in only a day & a half? Arrgghhh!

Mandy -Where are you? hope all is well & you're just taking it easy

J&C -Sounds like you've got your hands full, hope your DH feels better soon!

Heather -My clinic does betas on 15dpt - so for a 3dt thats actually 18dp - UGH! torture! Kim knows all about it too  the 14 day is like a rule of thumb, there are some faster and slower - I wish it were easier to get through - darn physiology! hang in there its not too much longer

Ronda -I lost some sleep last night staying up to finish The Host - it really does pick up after all!

Es -Crossed for a bumper crop! Hooray for 3 vials!

Cami -Whoo Hooo for "high implant potential"!!!! It doesnt get better than that! crossed for snowbabies too! I always wanted some of those. And yes, Colace after ET is a good idea - that PIO is famous for causing constipation, but the Benadryl- I 'm not too sure, you'll have to call your nurse on that one.

Paty -Oh, honey, I'm so sorry. Cami is right on everything
it stinks, but now your RE has a better idea of what to try or avoid the next try. Please know that our thoughts & prayers are with you & DH

Kim -Aint no fat ladies singing around here! But I'm sure the eggies wont mind your singing because they'll have to put up with my bad singing in the car tomorrow - so they're used to it and most likely really happy to not have ears!

Dodo -Ummm- I just realized that I've had you in the FET section - I'm sorry - ooopppss - it must be head up behind syndrome again

Franny -how are you today? was there any more spotting? I know how difficult it is - but you CAN get through this looonngest week of your life - I promise. BIG HUG to you my friend!

PMA & hugs all around - xoxo

hey girls! well they got 21 eggs. we'll get the fert report tomorrow. i'm all doped on pain meds :P dh is a little sore. he just left to go fill his painmeds script & my valium for tranfer script. oh yeah, & some FOOD...STARVING! when we asked how the sperm were doing & they said they weren't moving or something to that effect & they wouldn't be able to tell us anything until tomorrow. i think they have to wash them & whatever else until they can figure out how good they are. please ladies, pray for us & keep your fingers crossed.
transfer will be either thursday or saturday, depending on how the embabies are growing. either way, we'll be transferring 2, assuming we have 2 to transfer. in addition to tomorrow's call, we will get a call thursday morning to tell us if we should go in that day & do a 3dt or wait until saturday for a 5dt. we shall see. grow embabies...grow. mommy & daddy love you.

lots of sticky baby dust all around ladies!
