Babies: What a bummer! I'm sorry to hear that. I hope that your 3 hr comes back better.

I had my Glucose tolerance test today and am waiting the results.

I also get full so easily. One of the babies is sitting really high up- they are actually at a "T" with one head down on bottom and one streched across the top. That one just doesn't leave much room for food. I just have to eat little bits often.

Anyone else have reflux?!! It it AWFUL! My husband said he could hear the gross gas/gurgling while I was trying to take a nap. It is pretty bad when other people can actually hear how bad it is!

I don't work right now so I can take as much time at home as I want! I just graduated college when we started IVF. I had planned on starting a job and working through the pregnancy, but nothing ever came up. It ended up being such a blessing because I went on the modified bedrest at 16 weeks and wouldn't have been allowed to continue to work. I am just playing it by ear- I'll go to work when I want to.

I also have kept up with my hair the entire time. My hairdresser uses a different type of color that ammonia free and it is pregnancy safe.

All baby-related classes have been cancelled at our local hospital due to the swine flu precautions. The hospital I will actually deliver at is over an hour away and we aren't going to make that drive for classes. We already have one child so I think we'll be o.k. Plus, having multiples is going to be different than anything they teach haha!

I had an appointment today and had my final cervical length check!! YAY!!! FRiday we have made it to the 28 weeks mark that was the first goal set by my specialist. I'm thrilled. Everything looks really well- the babies are measuring great. So far everything is going really well.

Hi Everyone!

Sorry I've been MIA! We have been so busy! Work during the week, then every weekend we've been doing things around the house getting ready for the baby. We have had to move some rooms around, etc. I pretty much just watch and direct my husband :)

To answer some of the questions that have been asked - I'm not exactly sure how much weight I've gained. I think only about 12 pounds. I am just now turning 27 weeks. I don't think I've gained enough weight. I'll find out Monday when I go back to the OB. Then I start every 2-weeks appointments! I can't believe the third trimester is just around the corner!

I definitely feel full after just eating a small meal. I try to eat small meals several times a day. If not, I get terrible heartburn.

We are trying to decide on a middle name for our son. His first name will be Ethan, but we can't agree on a middle name :) Not sure what it will be!

I will have 12 weeks off work when the baby is born. Then the busy busy life of being a working mom with two kids will begin!

I'm so excited for everyone here! Enjoy the last trimester. It is such a joy watching and feeling the baby move around everyday.

Good to see some new posts and that all is well!!! :D I am 30 weeks today and just cannot believe it!!!! Just barely over two months to go! I am super excited for my baby shower on Saturday and am still in awe that I get one of those. I NEVER thought I would be where I am right now, and I feel blessed and overwhelmed with joy. We visited/interviewed a couple of in-home licensed daycare providers here and LOVED the second one. While we won't need it until August, I want that all lined up so I don't have to worry about it.

Babies- They called the next morning with my results. They actually told me I would know that day, but no one ever called. I think if you had failed the test they would definatly have called you ASAP because they would want to start treatment and teaching.

Skipper- We were stuck on middle names as well, but I *THINK* (fingers crossed) we may have figured them out.

Dogzrule- good call! Better to be prepared early on!

Lw: Two of my levels were elevated so they sent me to an endocrinologist. Now i have to monitor my sugar levels 4 times a day. Ugh. I also have to see a nutritionist for diet plan. There goes indulging in all the sweets. But am ok with all this as long as my baby is healthy esp given how far we've all come to get to this point.

Things are starting to come in now for the nursery but still waiting for the big items like the crib and dresser. Hope they come soon. Got a pediatrician as well so now have to start looking into home day cares as i do not think we'll make it for the day care list. Huge waiting list.

Super excited to be completing 30 weeks tomorrow!

I too got diagnosed with gestational diabetes on Wed. I did the one-hour glucose test and my sugar was 218... they didn't even give me a second chance.

I have to prick my finger 5x's a day and eat a fairly restricted diet. I had a 3 hour class and really it isn't that different then what I had been eating just minus the fruit juice I craved like crazy and vanilla milk shakes.

I am still optimistic... it poses no risk to baby other then the fact she could be a 9 pounder... so I am definetly glad they caught it early. Kendelle Grace is very healthy and very active. Of course if it was a perfect pregnancy I would be elated but just to know she will be in my arms in 13 weeks is the best gift ever... I can live without milk shakes.

Cressi: I totally agree that it is no big deal as long as our little ones are progressing well. I still have to see a nutritionist and attend the class. Can y tell me what u're diet looks like? Having a tough time coming with things that i can eat and things that i should not eat.

Hey Ya'll!

I have a question for those of you that did the glucose test and failed. I have my 1 hr test coming up next Friday and nervous about it. Just because of the history in my family I think puts me at higher risk. But did any of you have any symptoms prior to failing your test??? When the ob office checked your urine monthly was there ever any sugar in the urine? Just curious if there's signs prior to failing.

Oh, yesterday I did a real bonehead move and fell! My left knee and left hand took the brunt of the fall. I called the ob office and they did an exam and checked the baby's heart and all is well. WHEW! But man am I sore today! And my knee is turning all kinds of pretty colors. LOL!

Sportsmom: I had no indication prior to the test except for the occasional dizziness. The only think i would suggest is not to eat anything before u go in for u're test. I did not do that and the nurse told me i should have. Diabetes runs in my family so i also have a predisposition to it given the family history - better to be safe.

Thank goodness the baby is ok. It is really scary. I'm always trying to be extra careful these days esp on the steps as i am a clutz anyway. I just take my time and do not rush anymore.

Sportsmom: I was told just to fast for 2 hours prior to the test, but have since been told by several people that I should have fasted from the prior night on. Everyone that failed the 1 hour and passed the 3 hour test said they ate the morning of the 1 hour. With the three hour you must fast from midnight on. My suggestion would be to take the test in the morning and not eat from he night before on.

I'm glad that everyone is ok after your fall!!! I know how clumsy I was prior to pregnancy, but this giant belly plus the business of my hips popping out of place- I am like an accident waiting to happen!!

sportsmom- A fast is coinsidered to be 6 hours, so as long as you do not eat anything in the morning (only sips of water) you should have an accurate reading. I have been monitoring my sugar 5X's a day, going on 3 days now... and sugar does not stay in my system very long... maybe a couple of hours.

I did have some signs (I am no expert but this is what I have been reading). I was out of breath very easily and tired often... I craved juices full of sugar and could not get enough of them. Another strange thing is that when I drank the sugar water, everyone else was throwing up and I actually thought it was fairly tasty.

Good luck.

babies - The diet is a lot like South Beach... lean proteins, lots of veggies and go easy on the fruits... for carbs I can have one glass of milk, one glass of juice, wheat bread and only 2 slices, peanut butter, 1 teaspoon of butter/cream cheese/sour cream. A snack could be a couple graham crackers. I also am allowed one small scoop of ice cream or 1 brownie a day but I have learned if I have these I have to go for a walk afterwards.... that way it doesn't affect my sugar numbers. A good rule of thumb is if you can tell it came from the earth, it is good for you.... if it is processed... Do Not Eat It (example... breakfast bars, potato chips etc).

In a way, this has been very good for me... I am learning what my body recognizes are healthy and sustaining... whereas a lot of what is out there is total junk and we don't want our babies having that anyway.

Best of luck... were you tired a lot????

Hi all!
So I passed my glucose test but the doc says I have acquired anemia from the pregnancy so I have to take an iron supplement daily. It could be a lot worse so I'm happy. I can't believe I'll be 29 weeks on Monday.
Will do personals later.
Happy Saturday night!!
