Hi everyone -

thanks for all the sweet words :D I only have a minute since DH is insisting I hit the couch. The transfer went great, when I got there I only burst into tears once when my RE was so happy to see us. well, 2 survived the thaw, he said that the other two lost cells? so they werent up to par anymore. So we transfered 2 blasts and 1 of them was hatching, the other was slightly deflated after the thaw but RE said that it was rehydrating well. He wouldnt give me their grades, but was also in a hurry
But he said that they are "as good as it gets"! so i'm excited - beta will be 2/12 - I guess since they're blasts he's not making me go through the 15 day beta this time - yay for that! lots of love to you all - xoxo
I'll do personals later when I catch a nap - the valium wears me out

Yey KATIE!!!

Bei - A mock transfer is where they take a measurement of your uterus and make sure that there is nothing that will block the way when they transfer the embro's. You might have a little cramping but pretty much it isn't much different then a pap.

Franny - We need to finally get our BFP's so we can stop moving from one cycle group to another. I lost track of how many cycle groups I have been in. As for as the hydroscopy goes, I had 2 without anesthesia. The first they just gave me advil and the 2nd one I had Valium. Like the one with Valium better but they were both bearable without anesthesia.

gi - Yes I was also looking for an easier way of doing things with my sister being a donor. Was just getting used to the idea of no more egg retrievals..

Hi Ladies! Once again I can't keep up.

Katie: Yay for being Pupo! Take a nap and relax.

to all our BFN's I am so very sorry. I am sending you huge hugs. Take the time you need to figure out what your next step is.

AFM: I had my ER yesterday. They retrieved 23, 20 were mature and 14 fertilized with ICSI! I am so incredibly excited! I will have my transfer on Monday 2/8. Just trying to stay calm until then.

I am sorry I am so bad about personals. I just cannot keep up with you all! Know you are in my thoughts and I do read your posts I just can't seem to find time to respond to everyone!

hi ladies-

katie
- I'm SO glad your ET went well. That is such fantastic news!!! Your DH is right, keep your butt on the couch and your feet up! Enjoy the pampering (we all know it doesn't happen NEARLY enough! ;) ) Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers. I have a very good feeling about this!! yay!!! STICK EMBIES STICK!!! Image

gi- I had assisted hatching in my last cycle (which resulted in my DS) - and not in the first 2. I personally feel that it made a big difference. I had read a lot about it, some saying that there was a risk involved in damaging the cells - but I believe that was old info... while there is always a risk, I think the technology has caught up enough now that the risk is minimal. We are planning to have it done again this time, right along with our ICSI and regular procedures. I say go for it. Just gives 'em a little help with "cracking their way out" :)

Karen - fantastic fert report!!! WOO HOO! claim it, girlfriend. it's all yours. :D

Ashley - awesome beta jumping!! I know that is a huge relief... and now on to the next hurdle, right? ;) It is never-ending... but I'm so happy things are progressing so nicely for you!!! YAY!!

Ronda - glad to hear your pity party is over... not cos i think you needed to snap out, but that you are feeling a bit better. It is important to remember what we do have - and it does tend to put things back into a manageable perspective. I am going to try to keep that in mind as I go thru this too... but it is easy to get absorbed... at least for me. :) hang in there and keep up the pma.

DandMe - i love your comments re: the guys. they definitely DO get the long straw (or is it short straw, i can never remember) - anyway, they get the "good" one. i was actually surprised my DH agreed to do it again, as he was "out of commission" for days and in pain for months.... now, btw u, me and the rest of us girls... seriously? months?? i dunno... who am i to say, but i won't give him too much grief since he has agreed to go under again. how's the 2ww going so far? i know it just began, but hopefully ur finding things to keep your mind occupied. and uh, flowers?! are u serious? we are expecting "potentially historic" amounts of snow this week.... they are calling it the "perfect storm of snow to the DC area" -

moorebaby - i remember reading that you guys had transportation issues during tesa/pesa & ER. weren't you in different locations? fortunately, we're in the same place.... but - he is getting general anesthesia... i will not tell him ur's did local... i think he might cry  he really had a hard time afterwards last time, but i think more than anything, i dont' think he could stomach the thought of being awake during it... but they didn't give him an option, that was just the way it was for him... i dunno. the worst thing, or the funny thing... bless his heart, he had to wear the same gowns that us girls do - they are all pink - and with his height, it looks like a mini on him. not his favorite part, needless to say! ;) your dh is definitely a trooper to handle that without general. :) tell him i said so, ;)

Blessed Mama - congrats on the great ER, tons of eggies, and fabulous fert rate!! grow embies grow!!!

Sorry for all i missed. thinking of you and keeping you in my prayers... baby dust :) Image

afm - since we're expecting unprecedented (a word deemed recently as "over-used" by the media, btw and I tend to agree) SNOW FALL Blizzard-like conditions... I thought, hmm, wonder if they'll take me for my baseline today instead of tomorrow? sure enough, they agreed to take me in. I had gone on day 2 of AF last time, so i figured no big deal. and it wasn't. so I went for my first SnS this am. All looks fine. Should be getting the call soon with the go-ahead on starting stims this evening. Now the only problem is Sunday 7am appt for next SnS... fortunately, my DH has a giant 4WD suburban and is a trained driver, so he can drive me in. :D I feel like I'm in the seat with the restraints coming down over my head and the loud music is playing ready to take me up the giant, scary hill of this roller coaster... buckle up. :)

Beth, Chris, Cami, Ronda, Franny – I’m so sorry that it did not work this time. I hope you and your partners can find a little peace and healing in the next few weeks!

Katie – Fingers crossed for you! Everything (toes, eyes) crossed for you!

Dandme – Welcome to heck week(s). I’ll be with you soon. Keep those feet up.

Ashley – Congrats beta 2! Twins – is that possible? Great rise!

Hope – We are in Dc region, too and we have the EXACT same problems with our ET. Good luck to you!

Karen – OMG – what a bumper crop! So many mature and fertilized, too! We are on the EXACT same schedule – transfer Friday or Sunday. GOOD LUCK cycle sis.

ASM - We had a great 2nd embryo report - of the 8 that fert, 8 are still growing at the right rate. There are two front runners, so it looks like we will be able to transfer 2. Transfer day is either tomorrow (Friday) or Sunday. So 2/5 or 2/7. We are excited - looking forward to getting me home from the snow with two little ones tucked safely inside me. We are also doing acupuncture treatments pre and post transfer. Best of luck to us all!

Hope644: Hi, my clinic told me that we can go in on our day 2, 3, or 4. even though they said the best will be day 3. Hope that everything's ok if they cannot let you in today!

BlessedMama: Congrats to your 14 get fertilized!

Chris: Don't worry about your sister is older than you! In my case, my sister and I have the genetic disease that avoid her to help me. My 2 other sisters are too busy at work at the other country in the east. That's why they cannot help me either. They said younger patients are more fertile statistically but I saw others aged at 40 can still pregnant with healthy kids using IVF and ICSI. My last donor aged 23 and her eggs were all bad. Also, I heard someone tried at a famous and experienced RE for 3 times and got BFN. But when she switched to another clinic who is also famous too and got her pregnant right away with a different protocol in the IVF and ICSI. Have you thought of trying another clinic?

Katie: Congrats! So happy for you! Sending you tons of sticky vibes!Have a good rest! XOXO

Franny: Thank you! Yes, the coordinator called me back yesterday and gave us an appointment time that DH needs to take day off. Last time the patients advocate could give us an after office hour appointment. I still don't know why the patients advocate has so much power to override our RE's hours. Are you on BCP now?

Ashley: Congrats! what a beautiful beta! Are you having twin or more? How many embies have you transferred?

karenthescorpio: Congrats to your embies!

Hi all!

Crashing the thread AGAIN!

I just wanted to tell Beth, Ronda, Chris, and Cami how sorry I was to hear about the BFNs. It totally SUCKS and I hope that you all are taking care of yourselves!

Katie: YAYYYYYY for being PUPO!!!!! Make sure your DH pampers you all weekend!

Hope: Ugh. Yes, the VA/DC reporters are sooooo dramatic about the weather!! Were you able to work out sitting arrangements for your upcoming RE? It's hard with a little one, but I totally respect the no-children-in-the-waiting-room policy. Grow follies, grow!

So....I've heard some talk about starting a March/April thread. Franny, Bei, Chris, Cami, Ronda.....should we? Did I miss someone who would cycle in March/April?

For all the other Jan/Feb members---GOOD LUCK WITH EVERYTHING!!! I'm watching/reading daily and sending you TONS of BFP vibes!

Oh wow, I cant believe how valium just knocks me out like that. I was out!
thanks for all of the sticky thoughts - I hope they both stick personally!
They really liked the edible arrangement, the nurse said that lots of women bring them chocolate - that ends up sitting there. Well chocolate not getting eaten around nurses sounds like a new one to me! So I'm headed back to the couch, but wanted to sneak in some personals & update the list - plus I've got to enjoy every moment of my DH playing housewife for a few days - its too funny how the dogs take advantage and run him ragged

Ashley -OMG honey, I would bet money on twins with a beta like that!! :D :D :D :D :D now the hard part of waiting til your u/s....

Es - I'm sorry, I know that you hate to deceive your students, but its just temporarily - just let them do the lifting! Are you gonna make it til your beta? or be running to the store this weekend? You're almost there!

Roshaunda -girl, just 1 more day to go!!!!! :D bet that was the lonnnngggest 2 weeks ever! Good luck tomorrow!

Franny -thanks honey! I'm pretty excited myself! :D How are you feeling today? You sound like you're feeling much better now! Whew! bet you're so relieved that f/u appt is over now! always look forward to hearing from you - you always make me smile!

Gi -I'm with you, gina! This is like your first time all over again -ugh I 'm still upset at your old clinic - ah well onward and upward! :D
And 7 is thought of as a lucky number - hee heee

Ronda -This is true - you have some beautiful babies at home - I remember when you had their pics up! :D I'm so glad that you're jumping right back in - See, you're special like Lou and get to be in 2 places on the list - tee heee I'm just so happy that your RE said that
"next to nothing" and you have plenty of witnesses too!

Chris -thanks! I'm hoping your double cycle does the trick - its such an interesting idea. Now will you still have to figure out legal aspects this way too? or can you bypass all those legal fees? I hope! You're so lucky to have a sister like that! I dont have any , but I would have asked if i did!

Tracy -Hoooray for 14 fert! :D

Hope -thanks! oh, honey I am crossed for your snowstorm! I know the Weather Channel does love their dramactic stories - but to say "potentially historic"? thats scary snow!! Wishing you & DH safe travel!
Good luck with stims!

Merri -I'm crossed for you in this crazy sounding upcoming snowstorm this weekend - Good luck with your ET! Be safe!

Dodo -thanks! how are you honey? Did you start estrace yet? At least I know that you're not stressing any snow storms! hee hee :D

Kim -Thats not crashing - we miss you here! Crashing is what i'll be doing on that thread - if this doesnt work theres no cycling in my future and those DE are way expensive!! How are you honey? You sound much better now! :D

Samantha Thats a great 2nd beta! You must be so excited!!! :D
Yes, sounds like even if youre BFP - theres still more waiting involved -ugh! Gues it never ends til they're in college or something huh?

hugs & prayers to all of us! - - xoxo
