Hello ladies, based on katie's story using donated embies, i also want to share a story. When we did our first DE-IVF cycle last November, we're very excited to find an anonymous proven young donor from the clinic. She described herself as 'kind' girl just like her mom. I was in the donor searching process, knowing that it's impossible to find someone perfect physically and internally, I looked for someone who's much better than me internally. I thought she might be a good candidate for me because she described herself as 'kind'.
When we began our contract process, she started to do something strange. Instead of someone at her age would not fight for anything, we thought we would not either in order to make it even. It turned out that the 23 years old young proven donor learned from her friend who's also a donor but at another clinic and earned more money by doing a split cycle for 2 couples. She also wanted to have more money in my cycle. But our clinic didn't have split cycle at that time, she then gave us trouble on the contract. She requested that if there're remaining embies after fertilization, and if we're planning to donate to other couples, we need to have her consent and she wants to have more money. I was very disappointed because I was standing firm for her and told my DH that she's the one. But after learning she's greedy in this way, I felt so sad. I felt no way to get out because we started Lupron already. I was not happy all that time and could not believe what if I really got pregnant with the egg belonged to a greedy mind donor. But at the same time, we have already given the donor's compensation fee to our clinic before we started the cycle, I didn't know what to do if I could not get pregnant and have to spend another cycle fee and would let down my DH. Thinking back of my last cycle, I really thought it's a nightmare. I also know that the last donor is young anyway and not every gal at 23 can be as thoughtful. After my last cycle, I talked to my fertility therapist to find out that there're truly more and more couples donated embies out to other couples. I'm glad good people like Katie can be benifit. For my current donor, we don't want to have any controversy anymore because of all the stress. We no longer include donation because afterall, the therapist told me the embies do not belong to me but only to my DH and the donor. I sincerely hope whoever in the website get BFP using their own sperms and eggs and have enough kids can donate the embies out to people in need.

Arabsrcool: The last cycle is going to be BFP. Sending you tons of PMA!

moorebaby: I'd never thought of forwarding the phone call or wait until both are together to listen to the message. hmmm, seems like a good idea to listen to the message together. I think we can cry and hug each other if BFN or BFP.

gi: thank you and GL to your tuesday appointment!

karen: GL to your ET tomorrow! Congrats to going to be PUPO!

katie: I feel like you're reading my mind in the first 72 hours bed rest last time. But one thing unlike, you're going to be BFP this time!!! Hang in there! xoxo

lisa: sorry for the disappointment! but I'm pretty sure going to another facility can make a difference. I heard story of someone who got all bfns at one clinic and switched to another clinic and get BFP on the 1st time. Are you in So Cal.?

J&C: Congrats to be preggo! I guess I have missed some posts!

Lisa-

I am so sorry to hear the news. I know there isn't anything any of us can say that will make it better, but please know that we are all thinking of you and praying that you and DH find comfort and peace in each other as well as in a decision on whether or not to move forward. You will make the right decision for you, whatever that might be. Take the time you need now to feel, grieve and then decide what steps to take next. You are in our thoughts & prayers... (((((((((((((hugs))))))))))))))))))

I am fairly new to all of this but I did not realize "donor" eggs cost a lot. What is the average cost? Does the clinic make money off this or is it the donor?

real quick - moorebaby - Image for tomorrow's big test! GOOD LUCK!!

afm - going in for my first S&S tomorrow am. Fortunately the county closed!!! WOO HOO!! and so no work tomorrow. DH has to work still tho. :( but not until 12:30pm. So he is going to drive me in for my S&S. feels weird to have gone 4 days stimming without an appointment to check & see how things are. My dose is super-high too... at least it's the highest i"ve ever had 375 IU of Gonal-F and 150 IU of Luveris. They said they increased the gonal because Luveris is missing something that Menopur has (what I've always taken in the past) - so we'll see how the new drugs work. Plus, this is my first Stop Lupron protocol... before I've taken Lupron 10 units until stims, then reduced to 5 units until trigger. I stopped Lupron on Thursday, so I've only had stims since then. I don't know why I'm analyzing it, my body responded differently to the same OTHER meds each of the 3 cycles anyway... so who's to say how it will affect me.

since no work, hopefully i can check in later tomorrow.

the snow is incredible and beautiful, but so MUCH. i've posted some pics on my FB page... my DS looks like he's walking thru igloo walls. so crazy.

wishing you all the best... sorry i haven't done more personals, I hope to catch up tomorrow.

My gonal-f is 450 plus 150 menopur. They are having me do 4 nights of stims before blood/ultrasound too. Good luck! Our cycles are very close. My egg retrieval will be anywhere between 2/16 and 2/20.

the clinic most of the time will not make any money from it. even if they would, they would charge a 3k for administration fee. They normally want to find the donors for their patients to attract them stay there for the procedure. The procedure costs more. For donors themselves, everyone will charge a compensation fee. The minimum and first time donor will be at least 5k. If they are first time but young and smart like from ivy league school, they can have 10-40k. For young and proven donors, they can have normally 7-10K.

Lauren - we are very close - my ER estimated date is 2/16 (day 39) but I have previously had ER on days 39, 40, and 41, so I'm guessing between 2/16-2/18. I can't recall, is this your first cycle or no? And when did you start stims? Do you have S&S tomorrow too?

--- disregard IVF # question... I went back and saw you had one in Jan... I can't keep up. sorry.

Lisa; All I can say is how sorry I am that you were faced with such a horrid blow to your baby journey.

I know it's not the same, but if you use donor sperm, you and your husband will at least get to experience pregnancy and birth together. I know it's really soon to be talking about this, but you guys can still have and raise children that will be just as much his as yours. He'll be amazed at how the child will idolize him, copy him, and take on his traits naturally.

For now you really just do what you have to do to deal with this. Cry, scream, or just curl up and cry in your husband's arms. He must feel so terrible, too. Take a long hot bath, with a big glass of wine, or something stronger... You guys will figure this out, hon.... together....

Thank you for writing and for letting us be there for you as much as we can. Your journey isn't over yet.... It's just a little longer than you thought.

((((hugs)))))

Hello beautiful ladies...

I'm needing some help and input here... I posted about this on the main board but nobody's answered - lots of looks, but no opinions! Maybe you girls can help....

I choose to test out the trigger. 9 days past trigger I tested and got a very light, but obvious line - obviously the trigger.

10 days past trigger (when it's supposed to be gone) I tested and there was basically nothing there... just a 'ghost' of a line - I tried to photograph it but nothing showed up on the screen.

11 days past trigger (last night) I test and a very faint, but photographable line came up.. I figure it might still be the trigger... It took about 15 minutes for it to appear, and I had to wait for the test to dry before I could really photograph it.

12 days past trigger, today, and I did a test this morning. I have been pregnant three times in the past two years and NEVER get good results in the morning. I pee several times a night and do all my liquid intake during the evening hours, so it's very diluted.

Well this morning's line came up within a few minutes (I thought it was there from the start but I wasn't sure) and it is pink and, while still light, it's obviously a line, it's easy to see...

I am only 5dp5dt - isn't that super early if it is pregnancy? My beta is on the 12th (four days away), and I was just really expecting the hpt to be totally stark white yesterday or today.

Now I'm all messed up! I never expected to even really wonder at this early stage....

Dandeme, i reckon if the line is still there then there is a good chance you are pregnant esp. since you did get a negative a few days ago. Tomorrow will tell a lot and if its still there and getting darker then its a real positive. Best of luck sending you lots of darkening dust xxxx

turtle hope you get better soon xxx

moorebaby best of luck today xxx

right may go in work and dont want the boss to catch me  but best of luck to everyone triggering, ec, et and betas will do more personnels tomorrow
