Hi ladies,

A quick update on me, I will be driving down in one hour to do my first BETA test. I do not have any cramps nor sore boobs. I haven't gotten my period yet but I keep getting N on my HPT. I iwll post my result either way. Blessings to the rest of the ladies... :)

Sarah,
Welcome, you wil find alot of support here.

Desire_270,

Good Luck on your Beta!. I hope the damn POAS was wrong and you get a big 'ol BFP!

Katie,
You are now a member of the POAS stick club......however, STOP IT!!! Its too early. Deep breaths, no more POAS. Just a few more days to beta. So quints are what 5 babies are called, never even thought about it having a name (but of course it would), however that is not going to be me. Chances are very slim they all make thaw, but I gotta say, I am hoping at least 4 do. Since we transferred 3 nice ones last time and BFN, I am trying to up my odds of a BFP. I soooo love my RE, he is just the most caring man and I sooo love your RE, he sounds like a great guy too!. Isn't nice when the RE are not just all about $, that they really care about the patients. God has blessed us both with RE that care.

Hope,
Your area sure has been getting hit hard with snow. Hope it will not impact your ER, but it sure makes it difficult to get around. Thanks for the PMA in regards to my embies, I gotta say I am with you. I hope all 5 do make thaw and I will be thrilled to transfer 5 (knowing full well odds are slim that they will all make thaw and even slimmer that they would all implant)

Ester,
I totally understand your feelings, this is such a hard journey. I know it helps me to have a plan and look forward to what is next. Take the time for you to heal and then start again after school it out. That will at least be less stressful for you than cycling during the school year.

Claudia,
I am sure the RE is going to watch you closer this time b/c of the cancellation last time. How many embies to you have on ice waiting?

Hi everyone!

I'm back from my much needed ski trip. It was great except I did get sick and spent one night throwing up... ugh! Luckily it passed quickly. Didn't fall once on the mountain but did fall down a flight of icy stairs outside on my way to the hot springs pool and have some wonderful bruises down my back. It was terribly embarrassing considering I was wearing a bikini! Luckily, I wasn't seriously injured.

OK, so I've read the zillion pages that I missed.
To everyone who has experienced heartbreak, I'm so very sorry. My heart aches for you too.
And to those who have experienced joy and good news... I'm thrilled for you!

DandMe
-- A positive HPT with a darkening line is super good news! Congrats!

Sarita -- Welcome! How are things in Iowa? I graduated pharmacy school from the Univ of Iowa. I miss that place. You'll find lots of IVF support here.

Katie -- Nooooo..... no more POAS!!!! Even my RE said to me "it's not negative until negative by blood test. We've seen many beautiful babies born after a negative HPT." Hold on... a few more days. You've been on my mind and I've been pulling for you like crazy, as everyone else has too.

I'll be better at personals going forward. It was just a lot to catch up on.

AFM -- Baseline this morning! U/S showed about 15 antral follies. Is that good? I don't know. Just waiting on blood work to see if I start stims 2/12 or 2/13 and at what dose. Who's cycling along with me?

Gotta get back to work. Of course I came back to a mess in my office and lots of drama in the workplace... you know, the bad stressful kind. Looking forward to my accupuncture appointment this evening.

Love and luck everyone!

Snow, uh, I mean So, I'm snowed in... and both DH & DS are napping. I should be doing something productive, but you guys are calling my name (whether you know it or not) ;) well, you all and FB, posting pics of the snow for my family down south!

Katie - I'm so sorry I missed you last night. I thought I'd gotten you- well actually, I DID, but then I got booted off again before i posted! ARGH! So I'm not going to chastise you for POAS, because I'm the queen of the addicts - but I will say the girls are right - remember your own advice! ;) If you get the urge again, have some ice cream instead, ok? Image And yes, it seems my ER may be on Valentine's Day! Image And what a wonderful valentine's gift my DH is giving me - going thru the PESA/TESA again! (And in a short pink dress, no less! ;) )

OK so far it seems like the weather channel was right for a change - they've said 12+ inches and we're off to a good start. Thankfully my DH is home for a few days so he can run the dogs (beasts) and shovel out the driveway. Hooray for that - I've done it more times than I can count this winter  So no more HPTs for me! I DO know that I'll be forced to have some patience  and if I can get through today... then its just 2 more to go! I hope that everyone that has to be on the roads today gets there safe & sound! :D

J&C - I've kept you in my prayers for your numbers to rise - I've got everything crossed for you today - xoxo

Franny -Thanks again for last night - I needed a reality check - boy the 2ww really makes you into a lunatic, doesnt it? Everything crossed that your procedure is quick and painless. Rest up. Lots of love -xoxo

Ronda -Oh, yes! we both really lucked out to have such caring REs!
You hear so many stories here of clinics that treat their patients like cattle
and keep them in the dark, its sickening to hear those stories that seem like its all about profit - I'm always crossed for you and now for a great thaw too! - xoxo

Gi -How are you honey? I know you missed stimming
Get ready lass, because this will be it! :D

Lou -Where are you? oh, right I must have forgotten - you're swooshing down the slopes having a great time! thinking of you

Karen -How goes bed rest?

Sonya -Yes, I know I shouldnt have. i was just hoping that since these are quality eggs (for a change) that just maybe I would see even the tiniest, faintest line to relax a bit -its ok friday is almost here!
How are you feeling?

Claudia -Whhoo Hoo for a snow day! :D When you can curl up on the couch during the week and watch movies all day - guilt free! :D

hugs all around -xoxo

Katie – Don’t be discouraged! POAS doesn’t mean anything this early. Try to hold on for a few more days. We’re all sending you love and PMA!!

Lou – 15 follicles is terrific!! I had 11 the first time and I ended up with 15 eggs, so you could be well into the 20’s with that count. Congrats!

Sarah – Welcome to the board! You’ll find a wealth of experience and support here.

DandMe –It looks like you are def. preggers! Congrats congrats congrats!!! Whooo hooo.

Karenthescorpio – Your PMA is amazing! You’re my role model. I’m hoping we both get the best news possible very soon! Will you POAS, do you think?

Moorebaby – I'm so sorry again honey. It’s just awful, there is no other word for it. Have you and DH considered a therapist to help you move forward and make some decisions? Take care of yourself, sweetie and your DH! Sending peace your way!

J&C – I so understand the awful beta crazy dance. I’m praying for you! It is no fun to be stuck in that kind of limbo. Hang in there, honey – you’ll know more soon.

Devans – You’re also in that awful beta crazy dance! I’m pulling for you guys too. Double beta’s double!! Come on big numbers!

Hope – Congrats on making it to ET! Hopefully you won’t be affected by this crazy snow we’re having. When is the ET?

Desire
– Best of luck with your beta test! HPT can be wrong. Sending (HUGS) your way – we’ll all be anxiously awaiting your result.

ASM - Sorry I know I am missing a lot of you! Busy board we have!

I’m still hanging out here in this 2WW. Still no symptoms except for the normal progesterone-induced symptoms. Some slight cramping yesterday but again that is probably due to the progesterone.

DH and I were talking about it last night – and we hate the 2WW, but at the same time we don’t want it to end – because you’re either on the verge of the lowest of the low (which we’ve experienced) or the highest of the highs (which we’ve also experienced). It's the first week I haven't been crying alot in months so it kind of nice just to be stuck here for a while.

Since I lost our first pregnancy, I know a BFP is just the beginning of the journey and it’s still a long road from there. God bless all of us – we’re all survivors and I know we'll get our families someday!

Merribabydust- Not going to POAS...unless I start to get too obvious to ignore pregnancy symptoms. Any twinges or mild cramping could be from PIO. Even slight tenderness in breast. I have depressing flashbacks from last cycle of those negative POAS and I don't want that negative energy in my world. I'm planning on being pregnant so I don't need to POAS. hehehee We had a great cycle with two excellent embies that were transferred that we know were chromosomally normal (both were 5BB). So it doesn't get more optimal than this! I'm just enjoying the snow day and laying around...visualizing my call from my nurse saying I'm pregnant...and imagining the excitement of telling DH and our family. It's going to be amazing!

DandMe- how are you feeing today? I'm assuming your symptoms are stronger than the ones that are often associated with PIO shots. Ugh...those damn shots. No doubt girl...you are PREGNANT! So happy for you!

Katie...step away from the sticks. I'm smacking your hand in cyberspace!

Wishing everyone a bundle of positive energy and good news. xo

Franny; they say more people are injured on stairs around the lodge than on the ski hill... I shuddered at the thought of going down icy stairs on your back, in a bikini... OUCH! I am glad you got the chance to get away, though, and to enjoy some much needed distraction and deserved relaxation. Enjoy the acupuncture!

Merri I know how you feel. I am not due for beta until the 12th but decided to get one today as well. Now I'm dreading it. I am terrified of a super low number, (which it will be pretty low - I'm early). Somehow my darkening lines don't look that promising anymore. I just want to get it over with. Yes, the tww is bittersweet... sad, huh?

Hope: Sorry that DH is going to be busy for Valentines... but can you ask for a more romantic and self-sacrificing gift? really? :) I'm glad things are progressing, and will be eagerly awaiting your update. Sorry that you are snowed in, but at least you get to enjoy it with DH and DS. Good luck with the trigger!

Desire - my thoughts are with you... I hope you post great news soon!

February FET

Post by ktelise »

Hi all,

I am joining the February group and I will be having my 3rd FET next Monday, February 15th. For my last transfer I did have a BFP but I miscarried at 5 1/2 weeks so I have decided to take progesterone injections this time instead of vaginal gel. I spotted last time with the gel and this caused me so much stress so hopefully using the injections I will not spot and will have less stress.

I will be taking 50mg of progesterone oil and am worried that this may not be enough? My friend took 125mg when she was pregnant. Can anyone share the dosage of oil they took? :?

Hi everyone - I know I have been MIA lately but my work has picked back up and I have been swamped.

I am freaking out right now and need some advice. I will be 6 weeks "pregnant" tomorrow and started having a headache and nausea yesterday. I decided to work from home today because I have just been so stressed at work, I just needed to work at home alone without people being all over me.

I started feeling better this morning and like a crazy woman decided to go into work for the afternoon. I was getting dressed and felt some "moisture" for lack of a better term. I went in the bathroom and had some light brown "spotting". Of course I immediately started thinking the worst. I am now convinced I am miscarrying. The crappy part of it is that I just started letting myself get excited about all of this after my second high beta last week. I called the RE and left a message for the nurse. I was crying in the voicemail so I am sure she is going to think I'm crazy.

Needless to say I changed out of my work clothes and am staying at home in bed with my laptop.

Do you guys have any thoughts? I have a feeling I could have been pregnant with twins. Is it possible that I could have spotting if one of them didn't make it but the other was OK? I know that chemical pregnancies are common but are they that common with betas as high as mine (1580 and 4337)? I know I can read into this a million ways.
The other thing is that we did PGD so I'm pretty sure it wouldn't be a chromosomal issue.

OK, sorry for the long post. Any advice would be welcome.

Ashley -- Oh hun.... try not to worry if it's just a little spotting. Many women have that throughout their pregnancies and have healthy full term babies. Now full out bleeding would be a real concern. Your betas were sooo strong. I would report it to your doc but don't drive yourself crazy with worry.

ktelise -- When I did my fresh cycle, I took 100mg of PIO and when I did a frozen cycle they upped it to 150 mg daily. I don't really know what is enough but there does seem to be clinic variability in this whole process. If you're concerned, bring it up!

DandMe -- Hey, it was ME who fell down the stairs on the ski trip... not Franny. But thanks for your concern... and you're right, it wasn't fun at all!

Merri -- Thanks! :) I really hope so. Last time I had an AFC of 15 and only ended up with 6 eggs. RE thinks the Lupron oversuppressed me and now will have me on Ganirelix instead. I hope that's my ticket to a good crop of eggies!

Katie -- Thanks for the info. I'm glad I'll be in such good company. :D

Ashley-I know spotting can be sooo stressful but they say it is really common and especially if you are carrying twins which seems to be the case with your high beta numbers! I would call your RE who can probably do b/w and u/s to put your mind at ease...take the rest of the day off and relax!

Lou-we are going to have our transfers within a couple days of each other and 15 sounds like a great number! Good luck starting stims and hope the bruises go away soon!

Katie-bad girls for surrendering to the evil sticks!!! Stay away!!!! Yes-loving the snow day and I'm secretely hoping I get off tomorrow also!!!

Sonya-where are our daily pics of your pee sticks??? Can't wait to hear your beta and you definitely win the POAS award!!!

Franny-how did your apt go today? I hope it wasn't painful and everything looks good! Hope your also feeling better from your cold:)

Hope-fingers crossed for your SnS tomorrow and hopefully you get the go-ahead for your trigger Friday night!

Ronda-i have 9 3-day embies and 2 5-day embies on ice! They use the 3 day ones first!

Afm...nothing new to report! Will keep you all updated after Fridays SnS!! Throw thickening dust my way!!!

ashley any word from your RE yet? i'm not sure about that kind of stuff, but i understand that its scary. the other girls seem to think its normal so i wouldnt worry. take it easy today and know its gonna be ok!!

katie so glad DH is home today to take care of the beasts and the driveway!! so no more HPT's?? once you start its so hard to stop...i did the same thing, but i think its better to wait....i'm sending you all the hurry up and get here friday dust i can find!!

I did hear back from my nurse. As expected I got the usual speech that I have heard before with my miscarriages. Spotting is normal and may not be anything at all, there is nothing we can do at this point, blah, blah, blah.

She was very nice and answered all of my questions. Basically she told me I can come in and do another beta test but the only thing that would tell us is if the level has gone down. If the level is still higher than last week, it still might not be a good sign. I'm going to wait it out and see if it gets worse. She said that the earliest she would want me to come in for an u/s is late next week even if things get worse. I guess that's because they want to get past the point that there would be a hearbeat so that they would know more definitively if the news is good or bad.

I am guessing and hoping that it is stress. I just need to slow down and have a talk with my boss about taking it easy on me at least until the 22nd.

One other thing I talked to my nurse about is the fact that both of my betas were very high, AND the reason I had my three miscarriages was because of my genetic issue which we most likely eliminated with PGD. She said that of course nothing is definite but that both of those things are very reassuring.

I'm still on PIO and Vivelle patches so hopefully this is just a blip on the radar and everything is OK.

Thanks as always for all of the support.
