Ashely - Just wondering how many pairs did they test with the PGD? I know some places do it differently...

Thanks!

Hi Sonya,

Thanks so much for asking. It's been a good few days...it's been good to just take time and think about everything. We finally got to the place where we just can't imagine our life without kids, so we are leaning towards donor sperm.

We've been on a few websites and have about 8 canidates in "our favorites." The whole process is a bit weird...you feel so responsible to pick "good" DNA for your little one. It's hard because the sites have a lot of information, but you can't really get to know them, so it's weird. But, we've done a lot of soul searching and realize that we have to trust and have faith that we will be lead down the right path and trust our gut on picking the right match. I've been looking for another site like this for people that have used donor sperm and havn't found a real active site, but would really enjoy that because I have learned so much from everyone on here! So, if anyone is reading this and has used donor sperm, let me know! I'd really like some advice...things you wish you would have known when you were starting the process.

I also have been doing some research on IUI and just doing it naturally, with your cycle, vs doing it with drugs. I found staggering results of IUI not really working when done without drugs. I still have to set up my consult for IUI, but when I spoke to my RE about it last week when I was bawling she said we would just do it with my normal cycle no drugs. Now, I wasn't completely THERE, so maybe I mis-understood. I don't have any issues ovulating or any other issues, so maybe it will be different, but again, any insight would be great!

I'm so excited for you, Sonya! I love that you took another test 12 hours later :) Let's see those pictures! Can't wait to hear your Beta!!

Oh i am so freaking annoyed i just spent the last hour catching up and doing loads of personnals and its gone!!!! and dont have time to do it again. Girls i am sooo sorry but i am thinking of ye all, the bfn's, bfps (though we need more!) all you 2ww's and my fellow stimming (yeah i am offically stimming!!) buddies. Ah damn it was a good long message too you would have been proudc :D.
So very quickly stared my steriods and aspirin this morning (nurse told me should experience a big high and loads of energy....so disappointed where is this high :? ) Also took my 1st dose of puregon 150mg and clexadine (aids implantation and suppress the autoimmune).

Will try do personnals before the wkend

gixxxx

p.s Katie back away from them sticks, i just recently of wishfulls reply (think it could have been to Dandme) that she got a negative 9dp5dt and then got a positive 10p5dt and as you know she is expeciting Twins any day or as i have just read seriously tying to get them out!!!!
7th IVF finally our precious miracle girl Kayla born 24/11/10, 8th IVF FET Sept 2012 BFP!!!

Tiger-I have never done the donor sperm so I don't have any insight there. But in regards to the IUI, I have done both the medicated and non-medicated. I would recommend the medicated. For me a lose dose of Clomid was best becuase I do ovulate on my own it just added another follie or two into the mix. Both times that I got pg with IUI, it was with clomid. I never got pregnant without IUI without clomid. Just sharing my experience. I hope it helps!

GL I am so glad you and DH are talking and realizing the best decisions for you.

I have a sad story to tell. My husband and I have been together for eight year trying to conceive a baby and we have tried six months of clomid, three IUI's and and just Got my First IVF BFN... There is nothing wrong with me or my hubby. I called my doctors office and my ER is out until March first. This is so sad and upsetting. I been crying since 3o'c today and can't stop. I never been a selfish person and with my cycle I donated half my embrios so another lady can get pregnant. I ended up with 11 embies to keep and I transfer two. I found out today that I am BFN. This is really heartbreaking and I give my heart to all those ladies out there that want a child as much as I do. My husband got the call because I couldn't take anymore bad news... I wish you ladies the best of baby luck and again my heart goes out to you all... Love Tania

Claudia -- Awesome! :D Looking forward to going through the 2ww with you!

Franny -- Thanks! I know.... I'm getting excited to be PUPO again. Oh, I sure hope the third time is the charm for me. I'm so ready to move into the next phase of my life as a parent. Obviously we all are or we wouldn't be here on this thread, right? :D

Ashley -- I know you're still nervous about the spotting but I hope you are a bit reassured after talking to the nurse. Try to take it easy... like you said, the stress isn't good for you! A friend just told me that her sister was pregnant and miscarried.... but it turned out there were two and she only miscarried one! So those things do happen. The remaining baby seems just fine with a perfect heartbeat. So I'm saying a little prayer for you that everyone will be ok.

Lisa -- Well if you can't imagine your lives without children, then the donor sperm is the way to go. Sounds like you've already made up your minds and I'm happy for you to move forward. When you see your child, it won't matter where the DNA came from. Family is family. Good luck! Pick out a good one! :P

AFM -- I got the call and we're a go. :D I start stims with 450 units of Follistim on Saturday 2/13. Next SnS is Tuesday 2/16. Wish me luck! 'Cause I'm scared to death this protocol won't work either and I won't get many eggs.

Hi everyone,

I went for my 1st S & S today after 4 nts of 450 Gonal F plus 150 Menopur and my E2 number was only 73! My RE mentioned before that I am a slow stimmer which is why last month my Gonal F was 600 per night. At my f/u after 1st IVF he said he was going to change the dose and add Menopur so hopefully I would trigger after 9 nights of med. Guess that's not happening! I am going back on 2/13 for another S&S and he said to keep meds the same for next 3 nights. Also they said there were lots of small follicles but none were measurable. At least I don't have to worry about hyperstimulation or whatever it's called, since my E2 is always low!!

I also wanted to say that I know how frustrating the 2ww can be and how hard it is not to poas! It's funny though that the 2ww has flown to me for you girls...lol. It seems like yesterday DandMe and Katie had ET! I know not for you guys though! Good luck to everyone! My computer broke so it is so hard to do too many personals typing on my I Touch, but I am wishing everyone a BFP. To those that did not get one, I have been there and we all have to just continue and try again.

Tania, I'm so sorry to hear the sad news! You and your DH have been through so much, for so many years - my heart goes out to you. Hopefully you will be able to do some healing and find some peace in the coming weeks and you and your DH will be able to find a way to move forward through this terrible disease! Sending you big big (HUGS). Take care of yourself, sweetie!

Is it ever going to stop snowing? We've gotten about 14" so far and it doesnt look like its going to stop anytime soon. Oooh, my DH got lucky and a neighbor with a plow did the driveway a few hours ago - but it will be so much easier tom to not have to do whatever amount we end up with by hand. So I thank you all for the advice about POAS. You will all be happy to hear that even though I still have 1 of those evil sticks sitting innocently in the cabinet - I'm NOT going near it! AT ALL! Since my beta will be on 8dp5dt, I'm afraid to see another neg. So I've negotiated with myself  and decided that IF I get a positive beta then I'll wait til 9 or 10 dp and POAS just to see 2 lines for once in my life - damn those sticks  Tee heee

Merri -thanks! I agree with you there sister! As torturous as the 2ww is - its still nice to be PUPO even if only for a little bit. How are you holding up so far?

Karen -I love your PMA! how goes the bed rest? bored out of your mind yet?

ktelise - Good luck with your cycle! I hope that this 3rd times the charm! I'm always on the same PIO order ( if I ever get to BFP maybe it will change  ) 1 ml PIO IM at night plus 1 crinone vag insert in the AM - oh, so much fun

Ashley -I hope that talking to your nurse helped you relax a little
For some reason spotting is common with ivf. But still nerve wracking to have. As long as its brown, not red try to not worry about it too much.

Lou -if you were over suppressed and still ended up with 6 usable eggs, then this should be a stellar cycle! I'm so excited for you! Saturday is right around the corner!

Claudia -Are you snowed in too? You just might get your wish of no school tomorrow either! Why does your clinic use the 3d embies first? because you have so many of them? or is it something to do with the thaw?

Franny -Oh, I'm relieved that your appt went so well. And a perfect uterus? Hooray for that! it will make a nice cozy home....

Lisa -I'm so glad to hear that you two are moving forward - your post the day of ER broke my heart. It does feel a little strange to research donors, doesnt it? I've been doing a little poking around at looking into DE and embie adoption (which seems difficult) Just in case
But I hear you, when we had to make this decision less than 2 weeks ago
I asked DH was genetics more important than getting to be parents and thankfully we're on the same page - parents! whichever way that we can get there. I know it must be hard on your DH, but if your body wont cooperate - well then get there whichever way works, right? - xoxoxo

Bei -thanks! oh, no! I've learned my lesson - no sticks for me!
How are you doing?

Gi -UGH its awful when the site eats your posts! Yaay for stimming! Grow lots and lots! Steroids? High energy? They've never done that for me either. I'll bet J is starting to be excited now too! God bless a man who can cook & clean when needed :D

Lauren -I've always had low E2s also, they can catch up, but I'm a little surprised they didnt raise your dose a bit. Hee heee well, the 2ww which is actually an 8d wait may have gone quick no your end - but oooh, its been The land that time forgot for me!

Tania -I'm so sorry. Its just rough, I've been there twice. Take time to heal - (((((HUGS)))))

Thank you to all the welcomes and well wishes. I'm glad to have people that understand what I'm going through, even if you all aren't here in person.

It finally stopped snowing here in Iowa (for the day, anyway.) It's supposed to start again Fri or Sat and snow for 3 days again! I am so ready for spring!

I went for blood work this AM, and my Estradiol level was 92. I've noticed that everyone has such different names for meds and ranges for blood levels...I think 92 is good 'cause they didn't change my meds. (After my blood draw Mon they decreased my Follistim from 225 to 150.) I'm doing IM injections, too. My friend, who is a nurse at another hospital, stops by after work every day and pokes me in the bum on her way home. I don't think I can contort my body to give myself IM injections.

DandMe: Congrats on the pregnancy! It has to be a wonderful feeling!

Hope644: I guess I'm stimming. I'm not up on all the lingo yet. :) I've been taking Follistim since Friday. My ER is Tuesday.

Katie99: I am going to enjoy the time off. It was mandatory, not my choice, but I don't feel good today, so maybe it's a good thing. I know I haven't been giving my all at work with everything going on. Time off will hopefully make me like my job more when I go back. Hang in there! I remember from my IUIs when I would POAS early 'cause I couldn't take it anymore. They were always a BFN and it killed me every time. Keep your hope alive and stay away from that guy in your cuppboard!

lou71: You graduated from the U? I worked in the pharmacy (6RC and 4JP if you remember those locations) as a tech when I started nursing school. I enjoyed most of the pharm students I worked with. It's fun now that I'm a nurse (I work on 4JCW-medical cardiology,) 'cause I'll see some of the techs I used to work with on occasion, and they fill me in on all the pharmacy gossip. Good luck with your FET coming up! (Did I remember correctly? I need to start taking notes!)

I can't tell you how encouraging and relaxing everyone's words are to me. Thank you for the encouragement and PMA from everyone.

My beta only climbed to 21 (18, then 19 and now 21). I knew it wasn't going to be a good day. I started crying when I had my b/w this morning. The nurse said (I asked her - dumb me) that if the beta went up, then they would worry about an ectopic pregnancy. If the beta went down, then it was obviously a chemical pregnancy. RE also poked his head in and said for us to go ahead and make an appointment with him later this week. He never says that unless it's a negative result. I knew it wasn't going to be good news when I left the office.

DH and I have a "next step" meeting with RE on the 18th. They'll also recheck my b/w again to see what my beta is doing. If it doesn't go down, they may explore for an ectopic pregnancy. Lovely.

It's going to be a rough discussion for DH and I. He wants to be done and does not want to adopt. I don't just want 1 child and would love to adopt, though I'm willing to go through IVF again. We've now exhausted our fertility insurance, so it would be out of pocket going forward. DH and I just discussed going for counseling since we can't agree on what to do next.
Me and DH - 37

IVF #1 w/ICSI...DD born Oct. '08
IVF #2 w/ICSI...BFN
IVF #3 - FET....ectopic pregnancy
HE already knows the outcome.

J&C - I am so so sorry that your beta is not climbing. It is heartbreaking - and we do know how you feel. I am thankful that you and Dh are willing to go to counselling - it takes so much out of a couple and it's a great idea to get things sorted out once in a while.

Please keep me updated on how you are doing and what the next step is. (((hugs)))
